CMLL CAN52 GdR - 09/29/07 (#97)
Recapped: 09/30/07-10/06/07
There's a new graphics and theme music for the show starting with this episode. No more Monito fall graphics!
Intro: Terrible joins the announcers, UG gives the opposing view. Terrible thinks Perro is winning the cage match. Good luck on that one.
Outside the Ring: Sangre Azteca. My highlight is them showing Sangre Azteca's awards for being the Novato of 1999, 2000, and 2004. You don't want to win that three times, if you think about it. The Mexican Welterweight Title is on the dinner table as they eat, which is great.
Match 1: Hiroka (c), Medusa, Rosa Negra vs Dark
Angel (c), Luna Magica, Marcela
Arena Mexico, 09/21/07
Winner: Tecnicas
Match Time: 10:33
Approx Rating: Good in parts, not so much in other parts.
Other Match Notes: No entrances.
1: JIP. Medusa and Dark Angel are already working on the mat. Sahori gets a cross armbar, Medusa lifts her up with one arm (and it looked good) and Dark Angel slipped behind for a sunset flip for two. Lots more mostly mat stuff to come, and it's as good as Medusa's looked. What a coincidence. Luna and Hiroka are next and about average, though Luna seems to be running out of gas when it ends. When Hiroka's sent out, Rosa stays into to work over Luna, and Luna blows an up and over sunset flip, Rosa Negra takes over, slamming her and giving her a middle rope elbow drop. Luan escape as a corner charge and clotheslines Rosa, but the fans are on her about the missed spot. They do another corner whip spot, with Rosa boosting Luna out of the ring, Rosa celebrating, and Luna coming back with a top rope bulldog, but Luna nearly overshot the move. Luna tries to headscissors Rosa out, but comes up short and Rosa Negra very slowly headscissors herself over the top rope and out of the ring. It looks quite bad. Luna's headscissors to the floor is fine, but the crowd doesn't care by that point. Marcela and Hiroka in. A lot of Hiroka kicking Marcela hard. Marcela's comeback included a spinning backfirst, which seems new for her. She also pulls out a torture rack into a gutbuster. Hiroka out, Medusa in, but Marcela stops her and gives her a ropeflip headscissors. Medusa reveres a corner whip, but Marcela catches her with a middle drop dropkick as she comes in. Medusa out, and Marcela follows with a pescado. Rudas double team Luna, Dark Angel turns it around, and it's pinfall from there. Dark Angel's powerbomb took a couple of tries.
2: Dark Angel is just finishing up giving Rosa Negra backbreakers as we start. Marcela and Medusa next, and as soon as Marcela reveres a headscissors into a face first powerbomb, the rudas blitz the ring and take over. Corner charges for Dark Angel. Luna takes a camel clutch/missile dropkick combo. Marcela gets a double running powerbomb and a Hiroka middle rope splash. The other tecnicas hit the ring after Marcela's pinned and immediately get beat.
El Arte del Catch - they don't list the names any more, which is disappointing. I believe we see a planca azteca, which is a one legged tapatia.
3: Hiroka steals the card sign - and gives it to a women in the front row. And then she jumps in the way of the camera so we can't see the ring girl. Despite the chancery, they clip ahead to the tecnicas in mid comeback, joining right in time to see triple planchas. Luan is last doing it by far, but it's because she tries a tornillo plancha. It does include a spin, but perhaps is not finished. Tecnicas all come back in the ring - and that's it! What the heck editing is that? 1/3rd of the fall was the Hiroka screwing around stuff, the stuff after the clip didn't go more than 40 seconds.
El Diseno: Nosferatu
Match 2: Hijo del Perro Aguayo (c), Mr. Aguila,
Terrible vs Atlantis (c), Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero
Arena Coliseo, 09/23/07
Winner: Perros (2-1)
Match Time: 11:58
Approx Rating: A brawl.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed over music entrances for the Guerreros, actually
music for the Perros - do they not actually own the We Will Rock You knock off?
Olimpico does the promo for his team, Perro Jr. for his. Guerreros jump Aguila
and Terrible before Perro makes it to ringside.
1: Brawl, Guerreros taking control. They don't announce captains, but do make it clear on their graphics - yay for that. Perro Jr. makes a comeback by backdropping Aguila out, kicking away the tecnicos and ducking down out of the way of a Terrible plancha. Very tecnico-ish. Perro quickly run into Atlántidas and a bodyscissors into a small package, so the comeback was quite pointless.
Q: [Perro Aguayo Jr.] Cual es regalo que le dio su papa?
A: La Mascara de Mascara 2000
2: Guerreros are dancing with fans on the outside as the fall starts. Beatdown still going on. Olimpico gets in his springboard splash on Mr. Aguila. Terrible takes the sit. Perro turns the tables on the sit to start the comeback, and it's a lot of crowd brawling. Aguila dropkicks Evil Monkey somewhere in here, and we see the tail end of it. Perro headbutts Ultimo Guerrero, holds his own head in pain, runs around the rings slapping fives (or at least holding his hand out), and rips up and Atlantis. In the ring, Terrible and Aguila set up Ultimo Guerrero with a slingshot/clothesline combo, and Perro adds the double stomp. Referees call the fall over then, though Atlantis appears to be the captain. The Perros think so, because they start going after him before they're alerted about the fall being over. Oh well.
El Arte del Catch: La Espectrina - Espectro de Ultratumba's hold is impossible to describe - maybe an inverted reverse nudo?
3: Perro grabs some camera cord, and uses it on Atlantis' back as a stand-in for Texano's lasso. That's why they want him in the group, more weapons at easy access. They probably should've skipped this replay where it showed how much it didn't actually hit Atlantis. Guerreros get brief control just to Mr. Aguila can handspring over them and, he takes care of both Atlantis and Olimpico. Atlantis a gold mask to match Ultimo, and he looks a bit Solitario-like. Terrible is next, and he and Olimpico is very shoulderblock heavy. Terrible thinks he chucks Olimpico out on a monkey flip attempt, out Olimpico holds onto the to rope and pulls himself in. Agility! Terrible screams loudly, but gets dropkicked. Whip, Olimpico puts his head down too soon and gets kicked. Terrible turns to celebrate and gets blindsided by Ultimo. Ultimo forces Terrible in the corner and looks at the crowd. Chop, whip, reversed, Ultimo gets up the boots and gets out of the corner before the Perros can get to him. Sunset flip, Terrible rolls thru, Ultimo covers up, and Perro Jr. dropkicks him from behind. Perro points at the crowd. Crowd behind Perro for sure. Perro with a headbutt. Corner whip, reversed, and Ultimo takes the knee bump to the floor. Perro sets up for a dive, but Olimpico takes off his head with a clothesline. Atlantis in, Terrible in, Atlantis shoulderblocks Terrible but gets dropkicked out by Olimpico. Atlantis goes out with a tope. Terrible and Atlantis hand out on the outside while Aguila backdrops Olimpico and turns to them - tope con giro! A nice looking one, though he basically went over the top. Olimpico adds a slingshot tope con giro to knock over the pile. Ultimo and Perro JR. left in, and Aguayo has to take off his shirt before continues. Clothesline, double stomp - wow, Averno's appalled by how quick Ultimo got beat there. Oh, wait, Evil Monkey pulls Perro off to break up the pin. Evil Monkey holds Perro for Ultimo, but of course Perro gets free and Ultimo kicks his little friend. Ultimo with a shoulderblock for Perro, off the ropes, Perro leapfrogs, and Ultimo just nails him with an uppercut low blow. Ultimo was looking setting up for that the whole way. DQ, the refs were paying attention.
Guerreros puts the boots to Perro till Terrible and Aguila cover him up. Guerrero celebrate after the match and explain how they're the best to Magadan. Atlantis and/or Ultimo Guerreros are going to take Perro's hair on Friday. Perro says the Guerreros are great wrestlers, but the people love the Perros more - well, he tries to say it but Atlantis kicks him in the head. Got the gist anyway.
That's is.
