CMLL CAN52 GdR - 09/22/07 (#96)
Recapped: 09/29/07

Intro: Magadan talks to Monito Juan Carlos wearing Monito's mask. Magadan is freaked but a professional. It's a bit creepy so I'm glad he takes it off. They're sitting on the Arena Mexico steps while doing this bit because the special Arena Mexico show.

Outside The Ring: India Sioux. In the first segment alone, we're introduced to her dad, Hombre Bala, her mom, India Sioux (original), her brother (Hombre Bala Jr.), her non-wrestling brother and sister and she mentions her other wrestling brother Corsario (who turns up later). Her niece is walking around too. Everyone's wearing their masks, so the strange guy is the non-wrestling brother who's got a big swastika on his shirt. India's mom's mask has a non moving mouth (with drawn on lips) and the modern version looks much better in that part. We see a lot of photos of India, including one she shows with her and Maximo. Lots of India dancing with family members.

Match 1: Hiroka (c), Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei vs Dark Angel (c), Luna Magica, Sahori
Arena Mexico, 09/16/07

  1. rudas
  2. tecnicas
  3. rudas

Winner: Rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 8:54
Approx Rating: Okay.
Other Match Notes: No entrances.

1: Looks like JIP. Mima and Luna start, and nothing's great but nothing goes wrong. Luna works more with Hiroka, and they're okay, but nothing special. Hiroka is lured into a Dark Angel plancha, and she's on fire as he comes in, getting Hiroka and Sujei with a headscissors before Mima gets in a kick from to the outside. Dark Angel ducks a double clothesline and causes the Japanese to kick out Sujei by accident. Ruda double whip is turned into a tope, with Dark Angel hitting her feet on the top rope in the process. Tecnicas charge the rudas - and immediately get beat. Well, it is Sahori and Luna. It takes a bit to set up the submission, and Dark Angel is just late in making the save.

2: Hiroka tries to play ring girl, gets booed, and throws the car down. Sujei encourages to try the spin, and that goes no better. Clip? Sahori gets front suplex into a double gutbuster. Dark Angel is clotheslined as she comes in. Rudas bury Dark Angel underneath Hiroka's Japanese flag and then stomp a mudhole in her. That doesn't seem what you'd want to do with a flag, but I'm not a ruda. Sahori come sin and is thrown back up out before they have more to do with Dark Angel. Double press lam, and tossed onto Mima's upraised boots - that can't be fun. Sahori in now, and taking a triple boot. Sujei gives her a Wagner driver, and Mima lifts Hiroka onto her shoulders for the big splash - but Sahori moves! Sahori trips Sujei onto of Hiroka, and Dark Angel comes in to shove Mima on top so the rudas are all piled up, and all the tecnicos sit on top - one two NO! Well that would've been something. Rudas help Hiroka up, just in time for her to be dropkicked by Luna. Sujei and Mima are totally confused at this point, and Dark Angel takes advantage with a double bulldog on them. Sahori off the ropes, and Dark Angel boots her into a pescado on Hiroka. Luna sends Mima out with a headscissors, while Dark Angle totally missed on a dropkick for Sujei. Sujei stomp her, chases after Luna and gets drop toe holded into the ropes. Luna charges, gets backdropped to the apron, but comes off it with an Asai Moonsault! Not quite Volador Jr. but it's something. Sujei and Dark Angel left in, and Dark Angel gets a inverted bodyscissors with back bridge cradle for the pin. Hiroka's captain but no one cares.

El Arte del Catch: Lance de Media Luna - this is the Silver King dive.

3: Mima and Luna have a shoving fight, which Mima loses, somehow. Hiroka and Dark Angel start with the wrestling, with Dark Angel battling Hiroka into an armbar only for it to get broken by Mima. Mima gets an abdominal stretch on Dark Angel, and Sahori breaks that up. Sahori apparently has no submission hold, because she goes for a grounded crucifix pin on Mima, and Sujei breaks that up. Sujei puts Sahori in a sharpshooter, and Luna breaks that up. Luna gives Hiroka a tilt-a-whirl slam, and that way no one can break it up. Dropkick sends Sujei out, but Hiroka is in and running Luna over with a boot. (Luna falls backwards into the bottom rope hard.) Luna gets a corner whip, stops a corner charge, and gives Hiroka a headscissors. Mima into help, double clothesline misses, but Sujei throws Luna into the turnbuckle. In the mean time, Sahori gets the Japanese with a top rope plancha, but they kickout at two. Sujei is late breaking it up, and Dark Angle cradles her for a two count. Sahori and Luna get submissions in the corners, which means something's up. Sujei tries to bodyscissors Dark Angel, but Sarah shoves her off - right into a ref, though Sujei stops short. Dark Angel dropkicks, but Sujei moves and the ref (we'll pretend) gets it. Tiger Hispano is down, and the match is awarded to the rudos.

To her credit, Dark Angel is more concerned about Tigre Hispano's well being than losing the match - but once he's assured to be okay, then she's protesting.

Match 2: Atlantis, Mistico vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Ultimo Guerrero in a parajes incredible match
Arena Mexico, 09/16/07

  1. Ultimo Guerrero & Dr. Wagner Jr.
  2. Atlantis & Mistico
  3. Atlantis & Mistico

Winner: Atlantis & Mistico
Match Time: 11:47
Approx Rating: Interesting but not great.
Other Match Notes: Dubbed entrances really stick out here. Everyone does promos and no one's happy about teaming with who they got to team with. Ultimonito enters with Atlantis. Atlantis steals a sombrero from the crowd for fun. I think Mistico has his own hat, or steals someone else's

1: Mistico is already being beat down by the other team when we join up. Wagner's doing the posing while UG is doing the work. They still have unresolved issues form how their team broke up, it seems. Wagner and UG tease doing the finger touch, but Atlantis is all offended  so eh doesn't. This splits up into separate fights so the Guerreros don't have to fight each other - UG rips Mistico's mask in the aisle while Wagner works over Atlantis in the ring. UG brings it back into the ring, with Mistico taking a big bump over the top rope into the ring just for fun. As they come in, Atlantis and Wagner head out. Atlantis gets whipped into the announce both, where all four announcers are located. Wagner brings Atlantis all the way around the ring to work him over on the ramp. Mistico and UG aren't doing a lot in the ring. Wagner chokes out Atlantis with decorative items. In the ring, UG gives Mistico a middle rope front suplex - that should do it. Kick to the chest to make sure. UG poses while Wagner brings Atlantis back in and kicks him. Whip, reversed, Atlantis goes for Atlántida, Wagner escapes, kicks Atlantis in the midsection and sets him up. Long look at the crowd, and a sit down powerbomb to finish it. One two three. UG did not look thrilled with that but didn't attempt to break it up either. Wagner's black back support belt is matching his outfit better this week. Replays while Atlantis and Mistico hand out with (different) front row fans.

Q (Ultimo Guerrero and Dr. Wagner): Con que nombres iniciaron sus carreras?

Mistico talks about the cage match.

A: Flanagan and el Invasor

2: Two valets come up holding two fingers each, because the ring card got destroyed earlier in the show. Fall starts with Mistico springboarding in with a headscissors on UG. Atlantis gives Wagner a backbreaker, and Mistico runs past them for a springboard plancha onto UG. Magadan loses his mind on this one. Atlantis topes Wagner, breaking the front row of seats in the process. Replay of Mistico's dive as everyone gathers themselves. Atlantis is in first, Wagner behind him, and right into an armdrags. Right hands, whip, reversed, and UG gets in a cheap shot from behind - on his own buddy! I think UG got the guy he thought he was going to get. Regardless, he's in the ring, distraught, but still stomping Atlantis before he can get up. Wagner is doing jumping jacks for no reason. Ultimo and Wagner do the finger touch! Atlantis is whipped into the corner, stops short, and catches Ultimo into the Atlántida! Mistico with the up and over sunset flip on Wagner, one two three. Fans are booing VERY LOUDLY. They do find some cheering (and we don't stay with the sound long) but there's a lot of people unhappy.

El Arte del Catch: El Cristo.

Dr. Wagner talks about the cage match.

3: Atlantis holds Wagner in an arm submission on the apron as the third fall starts. That ring card is still in one piece. Fans are still angry, and we seem to have zipped ahead again. Wagner is up in the corner, being punched, but rallied back and puts Atlantis up top. Pulling Stunner. Atlantis gets dropkicked out, and Wagner takes his time going up the apron to set his dive, but the running top con giro still hits. Mistico in, and being booed despite facing Ultimo Guerrero. Mistico finally yanks off his entrance pants - I thought may be he was wrestling in them for some reason, but he's got the green and red colored gear underneath. Replay of the dive. UG goes to the middle rope and starts booing the people to get himself heel. Mistico poses in the corner and gets a mix of cheers. They do competing cheering segments, and some fans do cheer for Mistico while everyone boos UG. Off the ropes avoidance, bits lead to a Mistico spinning headscissors and a flying headscissors to the floor. Mistico poses, to some cheers. Wagner in - will Wagner attack? Replay of Mistico's headscissors to floor first. Back in the ring, Mistico and Wagner are having a standoff, and the crowd clearly wants to see this match up - so we see the crowd instead of seeing the matchup. Sounds like they're just posing anyway. Atlantis sneaks in the ring, and he wants to wrestle Wagner instead. Both Mistico and Wagner leave, and we end up with Atlantis vs UG! Off the ropes bits leads to UG clotheslining Atlantis, and Atlantis spacing on the mat. I think he's fine. Mistico tires to get in, but UG cuts him off with a back elbow. Wagner stands over Mistico. UG and Wagner make a wish! Double whip, double clothesline misses, Wagner boost Mistico up and UG gets a headscissors. Mistico tries a 'rana on Wagner, but Wagner blocks it and UG dropkicks him in the head. Mistico tries to crawl out, but UG yanks him back in the ring and Wagner and UG takes turns chopping him. Corner whip, UG charges, Mistico moves and UG takes the knee bump to the floor. Mistico tries to kick Wagner, but Wagner catches it and leg screws him. Atlantis up, but Wagner stops and puts him down with a spinebuster. While he's still kneeling over, Mistico gives Anger a sunset flip, and Atlantis adds a back bridge. One two THREE. UG got up to the apron there and probably could've broken it up if he wanted to. Judging from his clapping after the pinfall, he was okay with not breaking it up. Fans, not so much.

Wagner has to leave the ring, but the match still goes on. Wagner kicks Ultimonito off the apron, but UG tells him he wants all losers out of his corner. UG surprises Mistico with a dropkick, but Atlantis garbs him. Mistico sets up for a springboard move, thanks about it forever, and ends up accident missile dropkicking Atlantis. Ultimo misses a clothesline on Mistico, Mistico off the ropes, La Mistica and that's the match.

Cheers at first, then boos at a little garbage thrown. As we rewatch replays, we see Mistico's been laid out, and Wagner takes of his belt to choke Mistico with it. Wagner hangs Mistico in the ropes by his weight belt, but the angle doesn't seem to be getting a lot of reaction.

That's it.
