Loco Max vs Virus, Diamante Azul, CMLL France, Titanes el Ring

CMLL (MON) 02/27/2012 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Espiritu Maligno, King Jaguar, Sauron b Asturiano, Lestat, Stigma
Tecnicos were sporting matching green black/gear. Rudos won falls 1/3.
2) Centella de Oro, Loco Max, Pegasso DQ Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
Centella and Virus started, but Loco jumped in to attack the Cancerberos. Chaos from there, but Loco submitted Virus to take the first fall. Rudos beat the other two two to win the second. Virus caught Loco with an armbar for the third, but the Cancerberos kept attacking the other two and then referee Maya for the excessive violence DQ. Loco made the hair match challenged, but Virus refused to do in Puebla, preferring to do in Arena Mexico. Loco demanded the match for his Puebla people, and Virus accepted!
3) Princesa Blanca b Dalis la Caribeña [MEX WOMEN]
Blanca took falls 2/3 to keep the title in what was said to be easily the worst match of the night.
4) Pólvora, Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero b Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente
Rudos took 1/3.
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush DQ Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger
Tecnicos take 1/3, Terrible desperately fouling Rush. Rush challenged Terrible to a hair match, did not get it.

The Puebla Asturiano, Lestat and Stigma trio is looking for a name.

Diamante Azul, who looks exactly like Blue Demon just with diamonds down to the pre-match cape, says the criticism of his look is just people talking. He has no idea if the name change means he’ll be teaming with Diamante. CMLL doesn’t seem to have figured this. The Fuego en el Ring interview notes the press had to wait an hour for Diamante Azul to come out to talk to them.

Todo x el Todo has a poster up for the three way mask match with Santo, Solitario and Angel Blanco on 03/31.

Artes e Historia Mexico has an interesting behind the scenes story of the CMLL 2009 trip to France. 10 luchadors (Sangre, Misterioso, Nitro, Valiente, Stuka, Sagrado, Fantasma, Hiroka and Marcela) traveled to France for a series of three shows over two weeks. At the time, we were told the third show was canceled, but never actually the reason. The blog entry explains it was all too familiar situation of local promoters in over their head, not being capable of what they promised. The luchadors were housed in a tiny dump of a town with no gym to train, one public phone (next to a cemetery) to use and bad internet. They were very unhappy, and more so when the promoters wanted to not pay for the last show as promised, but instead bring them back over the following March and pay them then. The luchadors were not happy with the promoters, and got one to pay while the other just disappeared on his own.

A new book talking about the history of Argentina’s Titanes el Ring is coming out in the next few days, for the 50th anniversary of the debut TV show. There’s an interview with the author here, and there’s a Facebook account from the author of the book (which will hopefully have book information soon), talking such things as who was the Mummy and when.

There’s a mystery show on AYM Sports tonight around 8pm EST. It follows Sobre el Ring (which means it start early or run late.)

Rob has highlights of 08/27/1993 AAA and late February 1999 AAA

CMLL (MON) 03/05/2012 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano, Blue Center, Stigma vs Arissma, Espiritu Maligno, Policeman
2) Centella de Oro & Loco Max vs Raziel & Virus
3) Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máximo vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Psicosis
4) Atlantis, Máscara Dorada, Stuka Jr. vs Pólvora, Rey Escorpion, Último Guerrero
5) Rush vs Terrible

Everyone’s getting a Rush vs Terrible match.

Hair match possibly 03/12, but it’s not clear.

CMLL (TUE) 03/06/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Virgo vs Rey Trueno
2) Black Metal vs Exterminador
3) Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr., Triton vs Euforia, Raziel, Virus
4) Lady Apache vs Princesa Blanca [hair]
5) Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, La Sombra, Rush, Valiente vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Olímpico, Volador Jr. [cibernetico]

They’re pushing this as Guadalajara’s Dos Leyendas show. It is a pretty strong show, should be a good TV show with that tercera.

TRT challenge Atlantida, Marco outsmarts UG, Santo vs AAA

CMLL (TUE) 02/28/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Cholo & Ramstein b Bengala & Robin
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito b Astral, Fantasy, Pequeño Halcón
Rudos took 1/3. Fans were behind Demus.
3) Fuego, Mr. Cacao, Pegasso b Arkángel de la Muerte, Nitro, Skándalo
Tuareg jumped Cacao and won the first fall, but the tecnicos took falls 2/3.
4) Black Warrior, Sagrado, Sangre Azteca b Morphosis, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger b Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.
TRT destroyed the tecnicos and challenged for a title shot. Guerrero accepted for next week.

Guerrero del Futuro confirmed Atlantida will defend the national trios titles next week versus. There are four trios being pushed strong in CMLL, and those are two of them. I think the champions retain, but I’m not very sure.

CMLL (TUE) 02/28/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring, the newspaper Marco Corleone was reading]
1) Black Metal & El Divino b Disturbio & Inquisidor
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Leo, Rey Cometa b Exterminador, Malefico, Raziel
3) Gitana, Lady Apache, Marcela DQ Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
Unknown Gitana replaced Dark Angel (at TNA) – perhaps the same woman who was Murga few weeks back? Straight falls for the tecnicas, with Blanca hitting referee Noriega in the second. The Apache/Blanca hair match is next week.
4) Felino, Mr. Águila, Mr. Niebla b Diamante Azul, Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada
Diamante Azul’s under that name, in a loss. Mr. Niebla was in his Hell Boy gear. Felino replaced Negro Casas.
5) Marco Corleone b Último Guerrero
Ultimo Guerrero tried jumping Marco in the first fall, but Marco rallied him with a powerbomb. Ultimo Guerrero took the second with his own powerbomb and feet on the ropes in the second. Marco did the same to steal the third fall.

The much talked about Santo lawsuit vs AAA is said to be in the penalty stage. That article has Santo’s lawyers saying they previously won the case, and now it’s just an arguement about damages. This is the case regarding Santo’s appearance at 2009’s TripleMania – AAA (or more accurately, Televisa) put out a DVD of the event, and Santo says AAA did not have the rights to use market a DVD with him on it. There’s no sense that any of the AAA DVDs have been major sellers (or something the promotion seem especially interested in, as they barely mention them) and it would not seem to cost that much to pay Santo off after the fact if AAA just wanted this to go away, but it’s now less about the money and more about personal ill feeling between the two sides. Hijo del Santo has set himself up as the (last) protect of the rights of all luchadors and I think AAA would just like to take Santo down a peg or three (and honestly believe they owe Santo nothing further.) Santo will get money out of the lawsuit, but says he wants precautions to make sure it never happens again.

AAA posting a lineup for May (with Argos in the Air Force) is amusing, but then a local promoter is already hyping up a show with AAA luchadors two weeks after that one, with a ruleta de la muerte main event.

Rob writes about 02/25/12 CMLL C3 and FOX.

Dos Leyendas Schedule

I will be hosting a chat and doing live results Friday night. Dos Leyendas starts at 8:30 – though only on radiocmll, yet another show where CMLL will not take my money to watch their show. AAA’s Toluca taping is scheduled to start at 9pm, and we’ll be keeping track of that too as well as we can.

It looks like I’m going to be on Figure Four Daily on Friday with Bryan and Dr. Lucha to preview the show. I’m now sticking with the prediction of Blue Panther winning, if only to give us some way to fill 30 minutes.

CMLL SACCOMATS (SAT) 03/03/2012 Arena Neza
1) Cachorro & Silver vs Boraz & Taurus
2) Dinamic Black, Guerrero Mixteco, Turbo vs Black Thunder, Carta Brava Jr., Comando Negro
3) Neza Kid, Super Brazo, Súper Nova vs Dr. Cerebro, Suicida, Vampiro Metálico
4) Negro Casas & Último Guerrero vs Atlantis & Blue Panther
5) Villano III vs Villano IV, Villano V, Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata, Brazo de Platino [cage, hair, mask]

Which Brazo is losing his hair? Got to be Platino. Guerrero & Atlantis are in Guatemala on Sunday, for Guerrero’s Guatemalan FULL Monde championship.

Princesa Blanca keeps her title, REINA, AAA vs Consejo

In the second straight surprising title match result in Puebla, Princesa Blanca kept the Mexican National Women’s championship over Dalis last night. It’s typical for luchadors (both men and women) to lose both a title and their hair in quick succession when they’re planning to leave lucha libre for an extended period, and it appeared that was what was happening with Blanca. Now, the hair match with Lady Apache is totally unclear. (Apolo Dantes says that match will take place on March 6th, along with a cibernetico.)

CMLL women have tended to lose their hair or mask before leaving due to a pregnancy. It’s unclear it this is case for Blanca or Apache – both were announced by CMLL as appearing on REINA’s 1st anniversary show on May 13th at Kouraken Hall. REINA held a press conference earlier today, talking about that show and other things (both Silueta and Luna & Lluvia have title defenses coming up), and both Blanca and Apache are still on the talent list for that May show.

Might as well cover that right here. REINA announced the start dates for various CMLL women
Zeuxis: March 19, over for three months
Goya Kong: April 16, in for a month
Dalis: April 23, thru the anniversary show (same for below)
La Comandante: May 10th
Princesa Blanca: May 10th
Princesa Sugieth: May 10th
Lady Apache: May 10th – 0nly wrestling on the anniversary show, and they’re treating her as a huge deal

Full Puebla results later this week when Porra Fresa posts, but the other news from the show is Marco Corleone mentioned he tweaked his knee in his match last night.

AAA finally “unhacked” it’s website, though Consejo wants it clear they just defaced it and then undid it themselves because AAA could not. AAA’s recap of the Naucalpan taping slips in two important details: it’ll be a trios match with a Wagner led team, and if el Consejo can not win the match, they are banned from AAA entirely. The recap also mentions both La Sociedad and el Consejo attacked Juvi backstage.

Chicano talks about his name change to The Gladiatores. Black Terry Jr. has video of his return match: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Consejo vs IWRG, DTU, lots of lineups

IWRG (SUN) 02/26/2012 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), The Gladiatores]
1) Acero & Mr. Temples b Astro de Plata & Kiwoc
Debuts for Temples and Kiwoc.
2) Chicano & Tritón b Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II
Chicano was another debut. Gemelos took the first, then pulled Chicano’s mask off – to reveal Bugambilia del Norte. (Perhaps this is a name change due to the other Bugambilia.) Tecnicos took the second and third.
3) Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Golden Magic DQ Black Terry, Bombero Infernal, Eterno
Tecnicos took 2/3, Eterno pulling Centvrion’s mask.
4) Cien Caras Jr. & Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 b Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan
Piratas took the first, but Hijo de Pirata hurt his knee on a dive. Capos took 2/3, pulling off Hijo de Pirata’s mask for one pin and pinning Pirata Sr. as he complained about it.
5) Máscara Año 2000 Jr. & Texano Jr. b Angelico & Negro Navarro
Rudos took 2/3, Mascara using Texano’s rope on Negro Navarro to set up the deciding pin.

Halloween will not work twice on the Toluca taping; Silver King gets his spot in the main event Rey de Reyes tournament bracket. AAA’s RSSS

Oriental held a show to honor his friend Dick Togo on his retirement tour.

DTU announced winners from it’s training seminar this past weekend

Poison (Morelia)
Rebelde Punk (Merida, Yucatan)
Principe Halcon (Poza Rica, Yucatan)
Lucky Boy (Puebla) – lightweight winner.

All will appear on future DTU shows. Cruz de Silencio, a deaf luchador, was also honored, as was married couple Dark Rose & Hikaro.

CMLL (SUN) 03/04/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Rebelión vs Relampago Azul
2) Brillante & El Divino vs Acertijo & Sádico (Guadalajara)
3) Halcon de Plata & Smaker vs Èvola & Magnum
4) Gallo, Titán, Triton vs Arkángel de la Muerte, El Bárbaro, Ephesto
5) Rush vs Terrible [CMLL LH]

Rush’s title on the line, so it’s probably time for Rush to win one of these. Awful strange to do this two days after their tournament final, but these shows all go in parallel.

Sadico appears to be the local guy who’s been in Arena Victoria, and not the Sadico from AULL or the Sadico from Madero or the Sadico from La Laguna or any other Sadico I may have forgotten. No idea on Smaker; the closest I can come is a guy on the Dantes shows named “Samael”.

CMLL (SUN) 03/04/2012 Arena Coliseo
1) Camaleón & Freesbe vs Bobby Zavala & Zayco
2) Aereo, Eléctrico, Último Dragoncito vs Mercurio, Niño de Acero, Pequeño Olímpico
3) Diamante, Dragon Lee, Rey Cometa vs Euforia, Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
4) Fuego, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Hooligan, Pólvora, Skándalo
5) La Sombra, Shocker, Super Porky vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Psicosis

Shocker’s return! His streak of missing every major show remains sadly intact. I’m sure he’ll be right back to mentoring Titan and Trition, and he’ll be totally shocked about this Diamante Azul bit. Nino de Acero is also listed in the minis match, and I give them both 50/50 chances of showing up.

That semimain looked to be setting up an Arena Coliseo tag title match. The cards here have been so slight that it’s not crazy that could be an actual semimain  with no angle – just look, the main event rudo squad is Psicosis, Alebrije and Kraneo! Ultimo Guerrero & Atlantis are Guatemala this weekend, but Guadalajara is a bit slight – another show someplace else? (Maybe Monterrey – note below.)

Anyway, if there was nothing up, CMLL could’ve made a stronger semimain out of that third match, so something’s clearly up. This is the first time Stuka & Fuego have teamed up in Coliseo since their last title defense (which was true before the last title defense as well.) It would likely be Hooligan & Skandalo going for the gold, and it’d have to be on 03/11 or 03/18, because Skandalo’s off to Japan on 03/25. Kinda surprised Arkangel isn’t in Hooligan’s spot, but there’s still time.

AAA (SUN) 03/04/2012 Arena Solidaridad

3) Fabi Apache, Lady Puma, Sexy Lady vs Hija de Karonte, Ludark Shaitan, Sexy Star
4) el Tacua, Panthro, Tigre Universitario vs Bengali, Monje Negro Jr., Orquídea Negra
5) Kronos, La Braza, Low Rider vs Difunto I, Hator, Tito Santana

So AAA is in two different rival Monterrey arenas on Sunday. How peculiar.

AULL (SUN) 03/11/2012 Arena Lopez Mateos
4) Cerebro Maligno, Herejía, Judas el Traidor, Rey Krimen vs Epitafio, Leviatham, Samael, Tormento and ?, Dr. Cerebro, Epidemia, Heavy Boy
5) Flamita vs Sádico, Bestia 666, Súper Nova, Sugi San, Atomic Boy, Yakuza, Terry 2000 [Copa Velocidad Extrema]
6) Coco Amarillo, Coco Azul, Coco Rojo vs Ray Mendoza Jr., Villano III, Villano IV [AULL TRIOS]

Lineup here. That should be a crazy semimain. One of the columns in this week’s SuperLuchas attempted to explain why Heavy Boy and Epidemia were partners again – one had turned on each other in IWL, if I recall – saying the promotion had put them together but they were still angry at each other in the lockerroom. It was a heroic effort.

CMLL (FRI) 03/16/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Halcon de Plata & Virgo vs Demonio Maya & Metalik
2) Astral, Eléctrico, Fantasy vs Demus 3:16, Nitro, Pequeño Violencia
3) Dragon Lee, Fuego, Rey Cometa vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo
4) Delta, Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Kráneo, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Super Porky vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

This is a nothing special card for a Friday night show. If they really are coming back here on 03/30, they’re probably setting up something for then – a trios title rematch?

Santo loses in straight falls, Volador/Mascara, Rey de Reys match

TxT (SAT) 02/25/2012 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [@lawagnermania, Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Ciudad y PoderDJ SpectroEstrellas del RingKaiser SportsThe Gladiatores]
1) Esther Moreno & Rossy Moreno b Diosa Maya & La Vaquerita
Maya & Vaquerita replaced Ludark & Sexy Lady, who had been threatened with losing their AAA bookings if they worked this show. Morenos took 2/3.
2) Mascarita Plateada & Pequeño Lucky b Lobito & Scorpion King
Everyone working in alternate names to avoid problems from CMLL or AAA. Tecnicos took 2/3.
3) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II DRAW Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
Pirata took 1, Navrros took 2, draw in third. Sort of double pin finish – Pirate Kids beat Traumas as Negro beat Pirata in the third. Navarros asked for an extra fall, but the Morgans walked out. Rematch next month.
4) El Dandy, Fuerza Guerrera, Scorpio Jr. b Angelico, Carta Brava Jr., Saruman
Team IWRG took the first, vets took the last two. Fuerza & Scorpio turned on Dandy after the match for being too much of a tecnico in this mach.
5) Angel Blanco Jr. & El Hijo del Solitario b El Hijo Del Santo & Villano IV
Straight falls for the rudos, Santo giving up to his own hold. Very bloody, Blanco & Santo’s light colored masks both red by the end. This finish means Santo, Blanco and Solitario are supposed to meet in a three way mask match on 03/30 or 03/31, though Villano IV still wants a direct mask match with someone.

The recaps see to different on the date of the next TxT show. 31st is the Saturday, which is their usual day. If they actually do the mask match, I would expect CMLL to run a bigger than usual show that Friday.

CMLL (SUN) 02/26/2012 Arena Coliseo [La Catedral, CMLL]
1) Bengala & Höruz b Apocalipsis & Súper Comando
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Metálico, Molotov, Sensei b Bronco, Disturbio, Inquisidor
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Fuego, Mr. Cacao, Titán DQ Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo
Tecnicos took 2/3. Arkangel fouled Cacao in the third.
4) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Vangelis b Ángel de Oro, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sangre Azteca
Rudos took 2/3.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Valiente b Averno, Pólvora, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3, Mascara beating Volador with his own backcracker.

This week’s AAA TV was mostly repeat material from the last two tapings. However, they did slip in announcement for a Rey de Reyes match: a cage match, with three minis, three women, three men, and three exoticos, loser losing hair or mask. Mascarita Dorada & Octagoncito are two of the minis, probably with a mini Viper as the third. Dorada has been complaining about Sexi Star cheating to beat him in Couzmel, so she’s probably in. There’s not too many choices available, so Fabi Apache, La Braza and Pimpinela are also probably in.

On the Naucalpan taping, Konnan said he will pay his LA Park accumulated fines in Toluca on Friday. Also, the Chessman attack on Juvi is on behalf of Konnan; it appears they’re going to do off screen feud as an in-ring one (just with Chessman doing the work.)

Terrible and Rush have not let winning cause them to become friends. Terrible says Rush’s ego is bigger than this strength, and he’ll never reach the top if he doesn’t keep his ego in check. Rush says Terrible is the person he most wants to see bald, and hopes they sign for a hair match as soon as they win the tournament. Rush does want to change to the rudo side, because the Arena Mexico fans cheer the rudos, and he doesn’t want them cheering him, Rush wants to beat up the people they cheer.

AAA’s facebook says Arturo Rivera suffered a fall and underwent surgery. That’s very non-specific; his twitter account says it was a hip fracture. Operation went well, but he’s still in the hospital tonight.

The main event of the 03/10 Perros del Mal show will be Toscano, Texano and Angelico vs Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza and the always dreaded surprise luchador. They’ll surely be trying for Latin Lover again.

Last week’s Luchas 2000 (#608)  included an interview with Magnus, who feels he got off to a bad start with the Mistico comparisons and aims for a new clean start with CMLL. He’d also like to team up with his brother, Ulises Jr.

There’s also an interview with Cholo, who mentions his recent injury rehab. Cholo, despite being a relatively new face in CMLL, is actually 37 years old and 16 years a wrestler (and actually started training in 1990.) He’s from Mexico City, and lists Versatil, Tony Salazar, Virus and Arkangel as his trainers.

Last Week’s Box Y Lucha (#3066) has an interview with Alex Koslov, who’s very gracious towards CMLL and says he was dealing with personal problems when he left, but now he’d definitely like another chance as a more mature person. Alex mentions he was back in Mexico this past December, visiting with friends over Christmas.

There’s also an article about an amateur wrestling tournament on 03/11 at Starman’s Gym. I think this is amateur as “unpaid” and not as a style.

Rob has highlights of 07/29/11 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’S news update.
