AAA on Televisa Mexico #997 (06/18/2011)
Recapped: 07/02/11

Previously: Air Force beat the Milica. Drago beat the Bizarros, got beat up by the Bizarros. No run-ins at TripleMania! Manicos beat up 187 & Electroshock.

This week: well, hype for TripleMania, which is not exactly airing on this show. TripleMania card run down. Why did they cut out the part where Abyss said TNA? Abyss' promo didn't really need to be repeated. Zorro yelling “face to face!” at Jeff Jarrett at the press conference is at least funny. Here's the RVD promo yet again. Here's Park and Mesías fighting. TNA matches are repeated again.

And then the introduction to this show proper.

Match 1: Argenis, Atomic Boy, Fenix vs Dark Dragon, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana
Arena Neza, 06/04/2011

Winner: rudos
Match Time: 9:18
Rating: wrestling was fine.
Notes: Rare showing of a match from a previous taping. Entrances! So they must have plenty of time today. Atomic Boy is using the Air Force music. Fenix's entrance is clipped, how odd. Pepe Casas is ref.

Técnicos try rushing the rudos, that falls pretty quickly, and they're all thrown out the same sides. Rudos decide, hey, why not dive? Técnicos and the barricade get crushed by topes. Back in, and Fenix hung over the ropes for a Santana top rope senton con giro. Fenix in but kicked. He's spinebuster by Cota, slingshot hold, and Dark Dragon adds a top rope double stomp. Argenis in and attacking everyone, but Tito ducks under and slaps him down. Tropicasas is directing the rudo to keep the action going, huh, Tigre Cota spinebuster, rudos pull Argenis so he's landing on the apron, and Cota dropkicks him into a powerbomb on the barricade. Not a long way to go, so they couldn't get a lot of force on it, but it still wasn't much fun for Argenis. Atomic Boy in as the rudos come back in, but missing a dropkick. Chop. Rudos stalling, and Fenix waiting at the far ropes. Rudos finally whip Atomic Boy, Fenix waves him into the ropes, Atomic Boy waits on the apron, Fenix trips Tigre, and Atomic Boy swings back with a 619 kick. Fenix gets Dark Dragon with a headscissors, Argenis dropkicks Tito out. Atomic Boy and Tigre left in, Atomic Boy evades, then gets a rope flip armdrag. Rope bounce headscissors sends Tigre Coat to the ropes, but he stick in. Cota waved by on a handspring, and back for a casadora into an armdrag. Dive? Dragon comes in to cut him off with a clothesline, and Atomic Boy gets him with a floataround. headscissors. Break.

TNA video with Jeff Jarrett promo. Hey, it's that song form that one WrestleMania.

AAA upcoming schedule includes corrected dates, and sounds like Jesus Zingia is voicing this over a telephone. Updated lineup, does not include TripleMania.

TNA: Jeff Jarrett entrance video.

Argenis and Dark Dragon have a chop fight as the announcers discuss Guapito's new talent scout role for Konnan. Onto to TripleMania hype as Argenis flips out a corner charge and flips back in to headscissors Dragon out. Argenis flips around Tito, evades a kick, and superkicks him out. Handspring dive fake. Fenix in with Tigre Cota. Evasion, Fenix floataround DDT. Corner whip, Fenix charges in, and lands the front flip double heel kick to the face. Cota in, Fenix runs up his shoulder and off with an armdrag. Running up around the ropes clothesline spot, doesn't quite land right but still a neat idea. Dive fake there, rope flip variety. Dark Dragon in, trapping Fenix's arm and taking him out with a front flip in a DDT. I have no idea, that was crazy. Argenis breaks up the pin with an easy kick to the face, and the crowd reacts strong to that. Argenis runs up the ropes, moonsault, one two Tito break sit up. Whip, kick to the midsection, Devil's Wings. Fenix runs into and breaks up that pin. Chop, and Tito into the ropes. Fenix whip, reverses, Tito a handspring casadora into a cradle, one two Cota breaks that up with repeated punches to the head. Tigre Cota fireman's carry, into a Michinoku Driver, one two no. Cota brings in his partners. Corner whip, for Atomic Boy, Tito whipped in but flipped to the apron, Cota charges, Argenis moves, Cota spears the post on his way up. Fenix gets back on the apron and clears Tito off, and he and Argenis climb the same corner as Atomic Boy takes care of Dark Dragon with a headscissors. Técnicos should to should on the top rope – Fenix tornillo, Argenis moonsault to the floor. Atomic Boy fired up, but needing someone to fight. Dragon climbs back on the apron, and Atomic and Dragon end up on opposing its of a corner, Dark Dragon fighting him off and climbing, but Argenis springboard to the top rope for a springboard headscissors. Atomic Boy covers - for one??? - then Atomic Boy picks up Dark Dragon on his shoulders.

SUDDEN CUT to Dark Dragon pinning Atomic Boy, and just for the last slap of the mat at that. What the heck? Crowd shot, then a shot of what looks to be Argos in the ring (from his match, from after the match?) then back to Dark Dragon setting up Fenix with a double pumphandle powerbomb,. One two three. Someone hit some wrong buttons there.

Match 2: Cinthia Moreno, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs La Hechicera, Mini Histeria, Yuriko
Arena Naucalpan, 06/09/2011

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 10:16
Rating: ok
Notes: They've got a wider row for the entrances than IWRG usually has. Or maybe they just put in barriers and it seems wider because everyone's back off a bit. La Hechicera and Mascara Dorada have the same music. That'll cause confusion! Pimpinela is using “I Will Survive”? That actually works. Flowers are handed out to lucky people. Tirantes is nearly kissed.

First segment is an equal battle between the minis and non equal battle between the women. Cinthia Moreno can put La Hechicera in the farmer's roll, that's sort of impressive.

Upcoming shows.

Pimpi goes thru Yuriko quick, gets distracted by Mini Histeria briefly (and kisses him), then topes her rival. Octagoncito's showcase on Mini Histeria has a few hitches. Pimpi comes back in for Yuriko, but gets thrown by his hair and sat on by Hechicera to start the beatdown. Beatdown is a lot of each person taking turns doing moves and getting out of the way of each other's moves. Yuriko has a nice giant swing on Cinthia. Pimpi takes the corner charges. Octagoncito evades his corner charges and headscissors Hechicera to start the comeback. Octagon corner tornillo on Yuriko lands hard on the legs. Cinthia does her silla dive on Hechicera. Octagoncito cradle Histeria, Tirantes slow counts. Histeria rallies to kick Octagoncito to the ropes, but charges right out of the ring when Octagoncito misses. Octagon launches on him with a slingshot tope con giro, landing right in the entrance area. Boost/dropkick spot with Yuriko and Cinthia doesn't not go quite right, but it still leads into a plancha on the floor. Pimpi tease kissing Tirantes, Tirantes shoves Pimpi down, Hechicera splashes Pimpi. Hechicera climbs up, with help from Tirantes, but the slaps misses. Tirantes has no idea, and is looking the wrong way when Pimpi gets a casita on, Tirantes counts the pin without looking at it, one two three.

Pimpi jumps into Tirantes arms and gets that kiss. More dancing. Lots of replays.

TNA: Beautiful people video

TNA: Mr. Anderson video. All TNA videos start to look very much the same when you keep seeing them. There's that footage from the PPV, there's them looking away from the camera but then turning to the camera (or the other way), there's their logo, repeat with more in ring footage, repeat, repeat, repeat, play a generic rock song underneath (or, a horrible personalized song where applicable.)

Match 3: Aerostar, Laredo Kid, Sugi San vs Dark Dragon, Súper Fly, Último Gladiador
Arena Naucalpan, 06/09/2011

Winner: rudos
Match Time: 14:51
Rating: good
Notes: No offense, but this will be the only show where Dark Dragon gets two full entrances. Ultimo Gladiador and Toscano have the same entrance music. I don't know what that means. Aero has the fire in a can working well today. Piero is ref.

Aero and Dragon start. Lockup, break. Repeat. Lockup, elbow lock by dragon. Aerostar backflips to escape, but dark Dragon just retightens the hold. Dark Dragon cranks it in. Top wristlock, forcing Aero to the mat. Aero bridges up, then rolls backwards to escape. Back up to their feet, Aero rolls to an armdrag. Super fly complains about a mask full as the two in the ring exchange quick pins and kip up to their feet. Dark Dragon condescendingly pats Aero on the cheek. Aero slaps Dragon down. Gladiador in with a big missile dropkick, but Laredo get shim, but Super Fly gets him. Sugi – misses. Super Fly is actually wearing camouflage! It only took like seven months. Whip, Sugi over the leapfrog and front flipping a couple times for fun. Springboard casadora armdrag, and Super Fly rolls out. Sugi set up, runs, slows down, slowly tumbles thru the ropes, and is sort of cut off by a Dragon kick. Super Fly makes up for it, throwing Sugi hard into the barricade. That was rough. Laredo gets caught thru the ropes by a dragon kick, and UG adds a guillotine legdrop to the outside. Rudos all on Aero. UG tries a rope bounce hiptoss into a chestbreaker, which is alto for one guy to do at once. Dark Dragon adds a springboard double stomp and Super Fly adds a middle rope moonsault. Sugi in, slapped and chop into corner. Whipped out, UG drops him with a powerbomb, slingshot hold with a well timed Super Fly clothesline, Dark Dragon yells and adds another double stomp. Dark Dragon is very vocal tonight. That's what hanging around with Ultimo Gladiador will do to you. Laredo slapped around. Whip, UG tosses him to Dark Dragon, who holds him up as Super Fly runs by, then drops him in place for Super Fly to complete a handspring moonsault. Some well timed stuff going on. Super Fly stomps Laredo out of the ring. Crowd shot, but no clip. Rudos waiting for someone to go come in. Sugi does, and gets punched and headbutted by Gladiador. Rudos take turns with machete slaps. Corner whip, waved by, Sugi ducks under a double clothesline and get Super Fly with a headscissors. UG kicks him and Dragon adds a punch. Whip, Sugi almost ducks a double clothesline but still gets knocked down by UG. Everyone seems briefly confused. Whip, Sugi hangs onto the ropes oddly – like he wastes time trying to go over them but couldn't. Rudos pound him, and UG suplexes Sugi onto the ropes chest first. Sugi bounces to the floor hard, but UG turns into an Aero headscissors. Laredo gets Dragon, and both Air Force guys run to the ropes, then hops to the apron, and out on the corner ropes for - well, Laredo does a moonsault, we miss Aerostar's dive. Cameras are very tight today, tough to keep track. Back inside, Super Fly this Sugi hard with a dropkick. Whip, over, clothesline misses, and Sugi superkicks Super Fly to the ropes. Over the top 619 knocks Super Fly down, and Sugi adds a top rope springboard moonsault. Dark Dragon breaks it up. Chest slap knocks Sugi into the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Sugi charges in with a running tope. That was unusual. UG immediately pounds Sugi with forearms to the back. Corner whip, UG charges in, Sugi scoots out, UG hits the corner, Sugi up top, running the top rope dropkick on Dark Dragon. Flipping armdrag on Gladiador, out he goes too. Sugi looks for someone to hit, can't find anyone, tags out. Break.

TNA entrance video: Abyss

Laredo Kid and Super Fly in. Super Fly talks a lot of trash and compares bicep size. Laredo swats Super Fly in the head. Super Fly machete slaps back. Whip, reversed, Super Fly hops over, Laredo dropkick comes just short. Super Fly punch misses, Laredo knocks him with away with shoulderblock, Springboard headscissors just gets there but looks pretty spectacular. Laredo yells, but Dark Dragon is quickly charging him. Punch misses, Laredo punch misses, Dark Dragon enziguri connects. Slap. In the corner. Corner whip, reversed, Laredo charges, run up the chest flip, Dragon misses a clothesline, shoulderblock, springboard headscissors sends Dragon out. UG in, shoulderblock and springboard backflip into an inverted facelock and a drapped spinning reverse DDT. Laredo poses with all the rudos out of the ring. Aerostar in, evading a Super Fly dropkick in the corner. Rope bounce casadora clothesline. Wristlock on Super Fly, kicks, runs up the corner and rope flip armdrag to send his former partner out. Dark Dragon in with a spinning clothesline. Dark Dragon yells yet again. He calls in UG to help, but Aero grabs on to both arms and kips up into a front flip. Dragon swings at Aero, Aero ducks and UG is slapped good. Spinning armdrag into a spinning headscissors to send Dragon out. UG catches Aero with a dropkick, corner whip, Aero flip the apron, UG flips to the apron after him, Aero runs up the corner post and flips back in, leaving UG to hit the post. UG stays on the post, but Aero runs out and rips him off. Wristlock on the floor, Aero uses UG to stand on the barricade, then starts to slip and kicks Ultimo Gladiador away. Aero walks on top of the barricade on his own, and grabs him in a headscissors nicely. Aero poses. Super Fly and Laredo with a chest slap fight. Super Fly goes for a jumping spin kick, Laredo ducks under, punch misses, Super Fly hooks him in a German suplex, one two Sugi break it up. Odd crowd shot, but no clip. Sugi whips Super Fly, then sort of gives him a running moonsault sideslam, though it didn't look quite like that. Dark Dragon makes the save with a kick to Sugi's head. Sugi swings at the bigger man, but Dragon hooks the arm – half nelson powerbomb, one two Aero breaks it up with a missile dropkick. Fireman's carry drops in front of the corner, Aero up top – imploding 450 splash! One two Ultimo Gladiador stomps to break it up. UG sets up Aero on the middle rope and limbs up with him – super Wagner Driver! Ultimo Gladiador freaks out, then covers, one two Laredo breaks it up with a dropkick to the back. Scoop, slam, and Laredo heads up. Too bad Super Fly is waiting for him as Laredo poses. Super Fly gets in a couple shots, and Ultimo lifts Laredo on his shoulders. Super Fly and up top, but Sugi cuts him off with an off the top 'rana while Laredo gets Gladiador with an inverted 'rana of his own. UG got spiked and well there. Rudos all roll out. Laredo jumps to the middle rope, and Sugi topes the rudos thru his legs. Laredo waists for them to get back up, and lands a springboard tornillo. Aero and Dragon in, Dragon gets in a kick. Double pumphandle powerbomb works! One two NO. That worked earlier. Aero springboard casadora into a giant implant DDT. One two NO! Well, they better have a good finish yet, because it feels like they might have used them. Whip, Aero misses a clothesline, and Dragon surprises everyone with an over the top rope tope on Laredo and Sugi. Super Fly in with a missile dropkick on Aero. Hard powerbomb. Super Fly quick up, just stopping to pose – top rope senton, one two three. Super Fly poses like he totally expected to win, and he probably did.

Dark Dragon is hurting on the outside. Aero is checked on, but refuses to get stretchered out. Lots and lots of replays. They do catch up with Aero's springboard inverted tope from much earlier. Aero's imploding 450 is really nice looking

Trios tournament recap.

Match 4: Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Cuervo, Espíritu, Ozz n a AAA World Trios tournament semifinal match
Arena Naucalpan, 06/09/2011

Winner: Psycho Circus, allegedly!
Match Time: 5:51 seen
Rating: incomplete
Notes: Hijo de Tirantes is ref. I'm not sure who he should be biased for here. Psycho Circus are wearing their IWRG trios belts. Jesus announces the team as “Killer Clown, Psycho Clown and Zabadaba Clown.” What??? Crowd are way behind Psycho Circus. Sect now have all black outfits, which is so much less ridiculous.

Espiritu offers a handshake to Monster Clown, Monster accepts but shoves him away. Back and forth between those two, though Cuervo rushes into break up a cradle as the show goes to break.

AAA upcoming shows

TripleMania promo.

Monster gets Cuervo with a quebradora con giro, but Monster wipes out on a random quebrada. Cuervo tries a casita on Monster, but Psycho shoves him to get him to stop. Crowd excited to Psycho, and he gets Cuervo with a wheel kick. Corner whip, Psycho charge misses, Cuervo charges, flipped to the apron, fighting Psych off from the there, but sticking his head down and getting kicked. Big slap leaves Cuervo hanging between the ropes, and Psycho pulls him in with a front cracker. Pin is in the ropes, but Ozz is breaking it up anyway with a dropkick. Machete slap. Whip, reversed, Psycho misses, a clothesline, Ozz kicks him in the midsection, off the ropes, kick to the head. Crowd is booing Ozz's offense. Kick to the leg, corner whip, reversed, Ozz flips the apron, and forearms Psycho away. Ozz up top, tornillo plancha lands, but Murder runs in and breaks up. Whip, reversed, Ozz drops down and Murder kicks him in the ribs. Off the ropes, legdrop. One two Espiritu breaks it up. And now we're thru everyone. Stomps. Corner whip, Murder veers it into a normal whip, big boot, Espiritu slides under, dropkick to the knee, which takes Murder down to one knee. Espiritu tries another corner whip, that isn’t happening, Espiritu whipped into the Psycho’s corner, Murder misses the charge, Espiritu punch is blocked, and Murder puts him in a time killing submission. Other Sect members run in, Monster tries to punch them both, they duck, and Monster comes up empty. Murder hold is broken up, and the Sect clear the ring of everyone but Monster. Corner whip, rudos all charge in, Espiritu clothesline, and the other two crotch Monster. Sect playing not being crowd favorites. Rudos pounds Psycho. Whip, pump lift into a powerbomb/neckbreaker combo, and Espiritu adds the quebrada, Murder rushes in to break it up – and that's where the recording ends. Alas. I was wondering how they were going to finish this with so little time left.

Anyway, Psycho Circus won! A fine way to end this recap.
