Last Week: Or just Previously. Lots of Wagner/Mesías. “New” promos don't have anything new to say.

This Week: people fighting, before Guerra de Titanes.

Dr. Wagner tells us his 3 conditions. They keep taking about the Domed cage, and I'm not sure why they don't actually have video of it.

In a backstage hallway, Mini Abismo Negro happens upon Mini Charly Manson, tells him he's going to beat him at the big show, and slaps him in the face. Unfortunately, I think he said he was going to win at Verano de Escandalo, but the slap was good. Down to the ground they go, with Laredo Kid, Tigre Cot, and Pimpinela breaking it up. Highlight of the post-pull apart is someone racing out of the técnico locker room to see what's up, realizing there's a camera on, and covering their face. That never gets old.

Yuriko, Tigre Cota, La Hechicera, Mini Abismo Negro vs Mari Apache, Laredo Kid,

Match 1: Laredo Kid, Mari Apache, Mini Charly Manson, Pimpinela Escarlata vs La Hechicera, Mini Abismo Negro, Tigre Cota, Yuriko
Arena Coliseo Monterrey, 12/06/2009

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 9:47 (1:12+8:35)
Rating: OK, but the straight minis matches have generally been better.
Notes: Entrances. Four sided ring, no video display and a ramp to the ring – the usual set up for this building. Mini Charly is wearing a gold thing of some sort. Abismo tries to start a fight with Mini Charly right away, but ends up backing off. Pepe Casas is ref.

Minis start. Chest slap fight. Abismo sneaks in a knee. Headlock, shot off, back with a shoulderblock. Off the ropes, over, under, into a Manson big boot. Did Arturo just get bleeped on his second word of the match? How odd. Charly with punches, whip, quick reverse, Charly ducks under the short clothesline, bounces off the ropes, and comes back with a roll up faceslam. Corner whip, reversed. I guess that’s not Arturo, but I don’t know who it is. Mini Charly corner whip, Abismo reverses, Charly moves and Abismo hits an empty corner. Running faceslam by Charly on the rebound. Charly off the ropes, messy headscissors sends Abismo out, and Charly does a dive fake. SUDDEN BREAK.

Pimpi and Yuriko in as they return. Pimpi single leg, off the ropes. Armdrag sends Yuriko out. That was quick. Pimpi gets dropkick by Mini Abismo, and the rudos attack from there. Maybe it's Arturo with a sore throat? Yea, his voice is getting better. Meanwhile, everyone is killing Mini Charly. Whip, Mini Abismo tosses him into a Yuriko powerbomb, Tito adds a top rope elbow drop, and Hechicera adds a Running splash. Mari Apache in, and the guys throw her around by her hair. Yuriko and Hechicera can't decide if they’re doing a bodyslam or suplex, but get it together to put Mari on the ground, and Mini Abismo adds a top rope frog splash. One two pulled up. Laredo's turn. Hechicera face first powerbomb, dropkick out. Mini Charly in and dropkick Hechicera , but Tigre Cota and Mini Abismo shut him down. Pimpi in and slapping wildly – he grabs Yujiro’s hair, and the rest of the rudos have trouble keeping them apart. Hair tosses for everyone. Mini Charly comes in again, gets whipped to the corner, flips to the apron – and there’s no one around. Huh. He hangs out, as Pimpi is whipped to the same corner. Pimpi puts the breaks on, and Mini Abismo goes right into his backside. Abismo spins around to reverse, and Mini Charly gets him with a headscissors. Laredo with a springboard armdrag for Tigre Cota, Mari and Yuriko need two tries to get a quebradora (and even then, it's not so good) Laredo tries headbutting Hechicera, , and then kicks, though it's tough to get her out. Everyone mutually decides to go back to their corner. Laredo and Yuriko in. Chest slap battle, then mid kick battle. Yuriko wins via dropkick. Corner whip, Yuriko charges in, yelling the last half, but Laredo slides out, and pulls Yuriko down by his hair. Top rope headscissors sends Yuriko out. Laredo runs for a dive, but Abismo dropkicks him to stop him. Abismo celebrates and taunts the fans, as usual. Laredo stood up, lined up, and chopped. Whip, Laredo bodyscissors into a torture rake into an escape spinning headscissors that looked good. Took a month to get there. Laredo tries a dive, Tigre Cota tries cutting him off, and Laredo gets him with a spinning DDT. Dropkick sends Tiger Cota out, and Laredo's getting this dive for sure this time – TOPE, Cota going back first into the short barricade. Laredo comes back in to pose. Crowd is not loud or particularly responsive – lots of stomping on wood bleachers, anyway. Tiger Cota and Pimpi get into a slap fight, and Pimpi blocks one and walks the ropes, as usual. Yuriko comes over for no reason but to eat a headscissors. Tigre Cota and Yuriko try to attack at the same time, and both get armdragged. Kiss for Tiger Cota. Mini Abismo kicks his fallen partner out of the way to get Pimpi himself, and he gets kissed too. Pimpi celebrates. Tag to Laredo, who quickly gets Yuriko in a suástica. Tiger Cota breaks that up, but ends up with Pimpi is his arms. Mini Abismo breaks that all up with a dropkick, and side steps Charly's dropkick. Mini Abismo takes apart Charly with kicks, off the rope, right into Charly's Northern Lights suplex. One two NO. Charly powerbomb, one two NO. Mini Abismo is dead weight, so Charly goes up – and Mini Abismo pops up, to belly to belly suplex him off the middle rope. One two no. Charly gets Abismo with a headscissors - and follows with a nice springboard plancha. Women in, Mari sunset flip, Hechicera big sit down splash. Hechicera does not stay on top, rolling Mari to the corner instead. Second rope splash – misses, Mari rolling out of the way. Mari tries to ax kick Hechicera in the head, but only brushes her with it. Of course, this means Mari hits her twice more, straight on for maximum impact. Hechicera goes out, and Mari bowls her over with an apron tope con giro. Laredo in, and waving for the crowd to cheer. If they do, we can't hear it – crowd seems far away even when audible. Laredo off the ropes, over, grabs the ropes as Tiger Cota wings. Cota charge, Laredo backdrops him to the apron, then jump kicks him off. Laredo to the top – moonsault to the floor on Cota. Yuriko setting up for a dive – but Pimpi gets him with a missile dropkick. Arturo gets bleeped again. Pimpi spears Yuriko, then goes for a 'rana. One two three.

Why does Pimpi do crotch chops to celebrate? How odd.

Recap: Sexi Star vs Fabi Apache

Match 2: Aerostar & Fabi Apache vs Billy Boy & Sexy Star for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Championship
Arena Coliseo Monterrey, 12/06/2009

Winner: tecnicos by DQ
Match Time: 9:33 (6:43+2:50)
Rating: more of a long angle than a match
Notes: Billy Boy has new gear and a new music. Bad investment? It does look sharp. Sexi Star has her title. Billy decides to hide beneath the rail of the ramp, then jump Aerostar as he poses there. Problem is, Aero barely poses, and rushes to the ring so fast, Billy can't even keep up with him. So, Sexi just boots Aero as he gets to the ring. Arturo enjoys it. Billy tires the same trick for Fabi Apache, but she takes a while to enter – and then doesn’t even go down on Billy’s kick because she's more worried about Sexi charging her. Billy ends up slamming her on the ramp, then leaving to go backstage. Ref is Piero.

Billy returns with what I'm guessing are wood platters. Or maybe, they’re sections of the ramp or something else. I don't know. Whatever they are, Piero has no problem with Billy and Sexi hitting Fabi with them repeatedly. He argues about it, but he's not disqualification them. Técnicos are almost immediately dead, then quickly totally back alive. Aero walks up the ropes on a corner whip and comes back down with a plancha on Billy. Sexi grabs him, and Billy accidentally dropkicks his girlfriend. Fabi storms the ring and beats down Billy, as Aero stalks Sexi on the outside. That doesn't seem like the way it's supposed to work. Replay of the dropkick covers up a clip, and everyone’s gone back to their corners. Fabi and Sexi end up back in, with Fabi kicking Sexi in the face after a couple of avoidances. Luchadors seem to be reacting to the crowd, so they can hear them – just us at home can not. Fabi gets Sexi on a backbreaker on the next sequence, but Billy drops her with a back elbow to the back of the head. Slam. Billy yells to the crowd instead of following up. Whip, reversed, Billy sunset flip, Fabi rolls thru, Billy ducks the kick, Billy inside cradle, Fabi rolls thru, Billy is still up first and dropkicks Fabi. Billy grabs Fabi by the hair, and throws her out to the ramp. Aero comes in an attacks him. Whip, armdrag. Aero charges, flipped to the apron, and shouldering Billy in the gut. Aero backs up the ramp quickly, runs, and pulls off his inside rope springboard inside out tope con giro. Smart idea. Replay of that. Sexi's in and breaking up the pin as they’re done with the finish they're done with the replays. Chop. Corner whip, Sexi charges in, monkey flip – no, Aero just pushes her off. Kick, suplex, no, Sexi Star reverses the suplex! Sexi Star just has too much power. Legdrop, scream at the crowd. Whip, clotheslines misses, Aero back with his handspring back elbow. Aero covers, one two Billy puts a stop to the count, then breaks up the pin. Billy punches Aero into the corner. Corner whip, Fabi backdrops her partner to safety, then tares at Billy as he charges in. Billy stops and backs off. Billy shoves Fabi in the face. Fabi comes back with chest slaps, and Billy is unbudged. Billy kicks her in the leg, and kicks her in the face. Wow. Kick to the back. Billy shakes Fabi by the hair, and gets a long warning about it from Piero, whip, reverses, Fabi dropkicks Billy in the knee. Fabi picks up Billy, Billy tries a clothesline, Fabi hooks him in the double underhook, Billy spins free, Fabi hooks him a full nelson, and Sexi breaks that up with a kick to the back. Kick to head. Whip, reveres, Fabi clothesline misses, Sexi bicycle kick does not. Sexi says that it. She sets up for the swinging fisherman's, but Aero breaks it up. Sit down powerbomb, but Billy breaks up that pin, then screams at Aero. SUDDEN BREAK.

Billy waits for Aero to get up so they can year at each other. Billy unzips Aero's top, to chest slap him right on. Aero does the same. Slap fight is loud, and Billy knocks Aero down. Whip, reversed, Aero's clothesline misses, Billy headscissors works. Billy off the ropes, Aero boosts him to the apron, Billy pushes him away with a shoulder to the midsection and starts climbing up, but Aero kicks him off the apron with a climbing kick. That was nice. Aero runs to the corner, springboards off the ropes, and, leaning of the tope rope and to the floor with a plancha. Replay of that. Fabi in, and shaking Sexi around. Corner whip, reverses, Sexi charges, and gets killed by a kick to the face. Billy up on the apron, avoiding a kick, and tripping Fabi up. Billy grabs one of the red wood panels from before, and viciously attacks Fabi's right knee – her leg is on the bottom rope, so Billy has plenty of shots and an easy target. Fabi is hurting, but Sexi is also still down from that kick. Billy pulls Fabi put, and goes after the knee some more. Meanwhile, Aero grabs Sexi Star – suplex, no, Sexi reversal, into a small package, one two no. Whip, reversed, Sexi misses a clothesline, but boosts up Aero on the next pass – and foul uppercuts him. I don't know how Piero missed that. Sexi covers, while Piero looks around at the crowd confused – one, two, well, three, but Piero's doing his “calm down, I’m going to fix this” motion. Rudos celebrate - now you can hear the crowd - and Piero raises Aero's arm. DQ win, again.

Rudos aren't happy with that decision, but they've got to be happy with leaving both técnicos down. Fabi is still down on the outside, grabbing that knee, and the rudos go after it some more. . Piero pulls off Sexi Star, but not the guy actually hitting Fabi with an object. Aero tries to crawl over to help, and Billy this him right in the head. The doctor finally gets past Billy to check on the knee, so he spends his time hitting Aero again. Sexi sneaks past Piero to stomp Fabi a couple more times. Meanwhile, Billy tell the doctor to get out of the way so he can go after the knee more. I bet this knee plays no role in the match.

Cibernético / Mesías video package.

Fabi gets her knee attended. Sexi cuts a promo elsewhere. And Joaquin Roldan welcomes Latin Lover to the show.

Match 3: El Elegido & Rocky Romero vs Alex Koslov & Kenzo Suzuki
Arena Coliseo Monterrey, 12/06/2009

Winner: rudos
Match Time: 12:52 (3:06+9:46)
Rating: not as good as last week
Notes: Rain and Jennifer accompany Alex, and rub him down before the match. It's a tough life, being Alex Koslov. Alex also has a trophy of some sort. I guess Kenzo and the Legion are back on good terms? He's still in his Yakuza outfit. Kenzo huddles with the women for no particular reason before the match – then he lets Alex in on the huddle. Ah, now Hijo de Tirantes in on the huddle. I'm just going to ignore this match now. Did they all decide Alex smells? Looked that way, from the way Kenzo was pointing at him and holding his nose. Técnicos stand in the ring, baffled. Or maybe that’s jut me.

This one is pretty even to start, but then Alex clothesline Rocky out, follows with an nice tope con giro, and Kenzo drags Rocky all the way around the ring to beat him up on the ramp. Elegido is browbeat by Hijo ed Tirantes to stand in his corner the entire time.

Elegido makes a one on two comeback after a patented SUDDEN BREAK, but ends up getting crotched on the post by the women. Back to beat up Rocky from there. And on and on it goes. Eventually, Kenzo goes for his kneelift one too many times, and Rocky makes the hot tag to Elegido. Elegido gets his trunk pulled off camera, and Rain is just horribly disturbed by it. The comeback lasts all of 30 seconds before they just go back into doing a normal match. It's funny how the fans directly behind Rain look completely bored whenever they go to a close up of her, but are laughing when they go to the far shots. Rocky ends up toping Alex (who gets knocked over the barricade in a physics defying spot) and Elegido gives Kenzo a fallaway slam which might have not been designed that way. Both women hit the ring, to break up that pin, and Elegido no sells their attack (but does kiss Blade.) Rain gets press slammed and tossed on to Hijo de Tirantes (who rolls thru to be on top!) Elegido manages to DDT Kenzo and chokeslam Blade. Rain would like to help, but Hijo de Tirantes has fallen unconscious on top of her and he can't push him off. Really. Kenzo ends up mule kicking Elegido for a foul, Hijo de Tirantes pops back to life to count to three super fast, and that’s he match.

Match 4: Jack Evans & Marco Corleone vs Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario
Arena Coliseo Monterrey, 12/06/2009

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 8:12
Rating: had it's moments, but just an occasionly incident of moments
Notes: Bizarrely, no entrances for this match – it's joined right as they're finishing introductions, right before Lider dropkicks Jacks as he's breakdancing. Lider tries breakdancing himself, and fails to an epic degree. It's past so bad it's funny, and onto so bad it's just bad. Hijo de Tirantes is ref, so I'm back to ignoring this (though the announcers disagree and laugh.)

Jack gets in nice showcase offense off both guys, in between replays of his moves. Much more intricate timing that usual. Marco's sequence seems clipped, but they do show the leapfrog run. Marco tries for a dive, but Hijo de Tirantes trips him up. Marco goes to confront him, and gets attacked by Nicho from behind to start the beatdown. Rudos find many ways to beat up Jack, but need some help from Hijo de Tirantes to help get Corleone down. Marco sill makes a comeback full of punches, then boots Jack into a top rope 'rana, on Nicho; Jack holds the rudos together as Marco walks up the ramp. Superman plancha – but Marco comes up short? Not sure if Hijo de Tirantes pushed the guys out of the way, it didn’t come off very good. Jack makes a one on two comeback and everything seem disoriented for a second, making it seem like he just came up short. Replay covers up a clip, and Marco goes inside out to hit the tag champ with a plancha. Maybe that’s a make good. Jack adds a springboard 450 onto the apron. Hijo de Tirantes is alone up in the ring, and Marco goes for a superman plancha on him – he connects, but hits the top rope on the way over, and it ends up turning into a straight tope. Rudos get to together to suplex Corleone on the ramp., then Nicho gives Jack a DDT on the ramp. Rudos tries to suplex Marco again, but then suplexes both of them. Jack does a running headstand into a headscissors on Lider on one side of the apron, then races and jumps off the other side for a flying knee lift to Nicho's face. That was all kinds of cool. Técnicos brings the rudos back in. Whip, Lider ducks Marco's punch and snap his arm, and Nicho gives Jack a face first powerbomb covering, but no ref – Hijo de Tirantes is down, and crawling around on the floor. Rudos wave another referee – Pepe Casas is out, so I guess it'll be him. Nicho throws himself out missing a dropkick, and Jack nails his dive to eliminate Nicho out. Lider's left alone with Marco, and that quickly goes bad for Joe. Back suplex powerbomb, one two three.

Backstage, the doctor checks on Marco's left knee. For a while.

Match 5: El Mesías, La Parka Jr., Latin Lover vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Silver King, Último Gladiador
Arena Coliseo Monterrey, 12/06/2009

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 15:10 (8:40+6:30)
Rating: not as much straight build to next week's title match as I would've figured. OK.
Notes: Latin Lover's music is bleeped again, even though we can barely hear the words. Park's entrance is weirdly clipped. He's got a kid in Parka gear with him, who just seems confused about being there. Mesías' druids don't actually have their hoods all the way down, and you can actually see that one of them is wearing a mask. How weird. I would think the idea would be to not let people know you're a indy wrestler who's also doing this.

Brawl to start. Rudos in control. One of the camera shots shows the backstage fight film style, while the rest do the normal style. It's very odd. They manage to get back to the ring very quickly. Piero's the ref, by the way. Rudos come together to beat Mesías. Crowd chants for Wagner, and it's the loudest of anything all night. Breaking down into individual brawls again. Double press slam into a chinbreaker on Latin Lover, and a triple pose. Mesías ducks a double clothesline and gets booted into a dropkick on UG and SK to start the comeback. La Parka is the master of the one arm backbreaker. Lots of punches. Wagner, Parka, Silver King, and Mesias ends up in the crowd. Parka and Wagner end up leaving the other two behind, Parka seemingly thinking he's the one feuding with Wagner. Wagner escapes, but gets surround in the ring by Parka and Mesías. Double atomic dropkick for him. Mesías gets up for a punch, but Parka kicks Wagner, and Wagner just rolls out. Sucks to be Mesías. I wish they had more than one filler crowd shot. UG and Latin are in when they’re back from the clip. UG chops Latin, and is ready to lose the advantage, when Wagner tells him to wait up so he can get in a free shot. UG gets in one more chest slap. Whip, no, Latin has the ropes. UG chops him again, Latin demands more. UG doesn’t know what his deal is, but chops him again. Whip, Latin over, under, waved by, plancha by Latin knocks UG down. Silver King gets in shot from the apron, but Latin knocks him off with a left cross. UG grabs Latin for Wagner to hit, so Wagner poses for a while before kicking his partner. Wagner’s clotheslines Latin, and Latin gives him an enziguri. Wagner takes a face first bump, and spasms on the mat as Latin poses. Wagner is shaken by that kick. Silver and Mesías in. Yet another crowd shot. Mesías ends up punching Silver down after avoiding him for a while. Chop. Whip, reversed, Mesías over, Wagner stops him, brushes him off – and Mesías punches him in the face. Silver King still manages to kick Mesías and clotheslines him down. Wagnermaniacos stomp Mesías, and Wagner stops the técnicos from getting involved. Didn't we do this already? Back to the group stomping, and Piero is totally unsure if he's meant to be distracted or not here. Wagner’s leave Silver King along with Mesías. SUDDEN BREAK.

Mesías tosses Silver King with an overhead belly to belly and clotheslines him out. UG knocks Mesías down with a dropkick to the back and pounds on him on the mat, while Wagner celebrate on the apron. Whip, Mesías slides under, one punch staggers UG. Mesías grabs him in a choke, presses him and tosses him. Wagner in, and kicking Mesías in the leg. Wagner winds up for a big punch, and poses Mesías in the eye. Strut. Pose on the middle rope. Butt bite? At no time do I watch Wagner and miss him being in CMLL. Chop for Mesías. Chop. Whip, avoidance spots, Mesías tries a crucifix roll up, Wagner battles it and keep this up for quite a while, crowd shot, and then suddenly back to see the tail end of the kickout. Huh. Wagner kicks Mesías in the head. Latin jumps on the middle rope to argue, and Wagner knocks him off. Corner whip, Wagner charges in, Mesías kicks him in the face. Mesías charges out, gets punched. Wagner off the ropes, Mesías powerslam, Silver King breaks up the pin, and hits Parka on the apron while he's at it. That brings in Parka, and ends Mesías? Wagner. Wagner has to do the Wagner touch before he can get going. Wagner makes interesting gestures to the crowd after they boo that. Silver King charges Parka in the corner, Parka trips him up, Wagner sneaks behind Parka, and slaps him on the backside. Whip, Wagner kicks Parka in the midsection, Silver King tries a sunset flip, and Parka punches him to get free. Back elbow for Wagner, Parka pulls him in armbar, and Silver King accidentally kicks his brother. Repeat bit with a sunset flip. Wagner shrugs. Ultimo Gladiador comes in, as Wagner wander off. Single arm backbreaker for UG.. La Parka and Wagner have a three stooges exchange, - lots of nose slapping by Wagner, which is impressive given Parka's lack of nose. Whip, clothesline misses, Parka blocks everything, Wagner’s head to Parka's crotch is hidden with a crowd shot. Wagner leaves, Parka leisurely topes Silver King. That was out of nowhere. Mesías in to confront Wagner. Shoves, Mesías flipped to the apron, Wagner rushes into Mesías’ kneelift, Mesías forearms UG off the apron and climbs up, Wagner picks him up to toss him off, Mesías reverses to a small package, one two no. Wagner kicks Mesías, off the ropes, and waved thru them. Yet another crowd shot – a million of them in this match. Mesías' dive appear to have been cut out. Inside the ring, UG slam Latin Lover and goes up. Crowd shot again, and UG misses a top rope legdrop. Latin grabs UG, and drops him with a sit down powerbomb. One two three. cheers, but drowned out by the music.

Replays. Wagner gets the microphone to tease a match with Latin. Announcers talk over Wagner as he's talking to Mesías, odd.

Guerra de Titanes hype.
