AAA on Televisa #891 (06/27/2009)
Recap: 06/27/09

Always a bad sign when the show starts two minutes late. Also, bad when I type and there's nothing coming up on the screen. Ah, there we go.

Previously: Legion team is Chessman, Kenzo, and Electro. Latin and Marco are a team. Alex Koslov won the cruiserweight championship, for the people. Wagner was more interested in Mesias than the match he was in, so he lost the match. As usual, here's a promo that took place after the show ended.

This week: Dr. Wagner, La Parka, Alex Koslov vs Silver King, Konnan, Electroshock. Plus, who will be next on Team AAA and Team Legion. X-Pac, Charly, Rocky Romero vs Zorro, Ozz, Scoria. Plus, other people.

Video recap: Billy vs Fabi. I think we get it, already. Here's the Aerostar bit which hasn't gotten anywhere in weeks. Months, maybe. Aero sue did a pretty flip on that Billy clothesline. This video package has newer bits from the last couple weeks of matches – hey, Elegido – and a new music video to Pimpi's music, which kinda explains the teams for TripleMania, though they can't just list them. That would be too easy. Elegido's in here instead of Gran Apache.

Vignette: Gato & Fabi talk about their match, and their partners, which leads to talk about the very scary Pimpi/Gato relationship. Fabi gives Gato relationship advice; let's agree to never take relationship advance from Fabi. Gato likes Pimpi, but only as a tag team partner and a friend.

Vignette: Alfa and Sexi Star discuss. Why is Billy wearing that gear? Inexplicable. Billy's very upset about that Elegido/Sexi kiss last year, and they argue about it. So angry, he wont' let Sexi even get a word in. Oh, it's trouble in paradise.

Match 1: Fabi Apache, Gato Eveready, Mascarita Sagrada 2007, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Billy Boy, Mini Histeria, Polvo de Esterllas, Sexy Star
Auditorio Municipal de San Bernardino Contla, Tlaxaca, 05/25/2009

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 10:48
Rating: Good.
Notes:No entrances, they just jump in as Piero signals the whistle guy to blow and the eight way fight breaks out immediately.

Rudos in control. Since that vignette, Billy has apparently switched back into his normal gear. How strange. Sexi seems to be in the same outfit. Eight way random brawling for a minute and half, then the rudos get it together to four one Gato. Everyone tosses him onto his feet and slaps him back down in a fun bit. Guapito is out? Oh, for the minis. Break after Fabi takes a painful looking leg drop from Sexi.

Tecnicos make the comeback soon after the break, Gato tripping up Polvo on the run, leading to chaos. Tecnico show cases, with a big clip to take out Sagrada's dive, I think. Pimpi seemed very concerned about whatever happened, but Sagrada did make it back up to the apron. The back of Gato's gear gets all the way unzipped and Piero has to help him zip back up. Fabi is second to last for her showcase, first taking out Polvo with an armdrags, then dealing with the Billy/Sexi team. Luckily for him, they fail as much as usual. Pimpi takes outs everyone, including getting the rope walk double armdrags on Polvo and Billy, then assaulting Mini Histeria a hug. Histeria slides out, Pimpi slides behind, and pulls him into a kiss. Minis back in, and Sagrado gets a faceslam on Mini Histeria. Sagrado off the ropes, spin around into a spinning headscissors, and Histeria goes out. Sagrado goes up for a dive, bu waits for Polvo to stop him. Polvo slams him off the ropes and goes up, which seems like a dangerous idea. Piero warms Polvo (and helps his balance), and lands on Sagrada with a (gentle) splash. One two three. Arturo mentions that Fabi and Sexi are the captains, helpful to know. (8:46)

Pimpi dropkicks Polvo out and goes up top – plancha to the floor. Camera stays on Pimpi for a while ignoring the ring, Mini Histeria and Gato are wrestling, and aren't to far off from each other size while. Gato tries a toss into a Diamond Cutter, but only really gets the toss. Gato tries again with something different – running flipping DDT. One two three. Both Guapito's guys are done. (9:56)

Billy kicks Gato, leads up, and drops him with Vertabreaker. One two and Fabi breaks it up. Sexi gets her with a top rope plancha. Bicycle kick is right on target, though it looked a bit awkward. Sexi gets distracted by a (inaudible, imaginary) chant for Fabi and doesn't follow up right away. When she does pick up Fabi, Fabi shoves her away. Fabi misses a clothesline, both of the ropes, both hit clotheslines (kinda), both down. Those were more running slaps to the face than anything. Both are slow up, Sexi tries a clothesline, Fabi hooks her in the double underhook, Devil's Wings. One two three - Billy just short of breaking it up. (10:48)

Billy and Fabi get into it, and there's a standoff in the ring with the rest of the tecnicos coming in. On the outside, Guapito consoles Mini Histeria, who doesn't know what happened there. Guapito explains the whole being dropped on his head bit.

Noti AAA

Recap: Cruiserweight title match. This time, they've removed the existence of Juvi. Also, they lave n Arturo calling it a national title.

Backstage: Alan and Tiger are blaming each other for not being champ. Crazy Boy tries to keep them from killing each other, and focuses them on the task – if they can work together, and win today, than one of them will get a shot a TripleMania. Alan says they have to do it for Mexico.

Match 2: Alan Stone, Crazy Boy, Extreme Tiger vs Rio Bravo, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana II
Auditorio Municipal de San Bernardino Contla, Tlaxaca, 05/25/2009

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 7:00 (3:26+3:34)
Rating: Okay, expected better
Notes: Entrances. Wait, wait, Poder del Norte has music? Astounding! Whoever's shooting this has no idea which one is which yet, because they keep failing to show the right guy when their name is announced. If Poder del Norte win – and why wouldn't they, having gotten no promo time here – does one of them get the title shot? Crazy Boy has quite the dance number this week. Alan and Crazy Boy are wearing completely different outfits than when we just saw them. Tiger may just have one outfit. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.

Tecnicos are dominant early, working together well, but Tito hits Crazy Boy with a surprise missile dropkick and his partners pile on to get the advantage. Extreme Tiger gets killed on a powerbomb/springboard reverse bulldog combo. Alan takes a double rebound hiptoss, but catches Rio Bravo with raised feet on a dive to start the comeback. Tiger Cota comes in with a missile dropkick, and Crazy takes out Tigre Cota with a sliding clothesline, right as they go to break.

Match resumes with a dive train – Tiger tope con giro onto Rio Bravo, Tito thru the ropes tope, Crazy Asai moonsault, Cota tope, Alan springboard silla. Rio Bravo and Extreme Tiger make it back in, with Bravo stopping Tiger with a front powerbomb and putting on a half crab, but Crazy breaks that up with an enziguri. Crazy gives him an Oklahoma stampede, then crawls around before thinking that maybe he should cover. Tito break the non-cover with a kick. Whip, spinebuster, crucifix cradle, Alan break it up. Alan hiptosses Tito Cota, then pin with a headscissors cradle. Hijo de Tirantes decides not to count for whatever reason, but Tigre Cota breaks it up anyway. Alan tries the same headscissors on him, but Cota throws him off and legdrops him. Cota yells, but gets yanked put a Extreme Tiger top rope headscissors. Tigre in, but dropkicked to the knee. Whip, reversed, Extreme hits the corner and falls down, and Tito sure like yelling between every single move. Corner whip, reversed, into a short knee, double underhook, Tito lifted onto the top rope, and pulled off to be driven into the mat on a DDT. One two three. Takes them a few seconds to remember to play music. Not sure why Hijo de Tirantes was okay with counting a pinfall there.

Konnan walks out, looking bored. Hijo de Tirantres trying to get the crowd to cheer louder for him is kinda funny. Really weird noise here, it's just like an ocean of squaking horns overpowering all. Konnan calls out Alex, who shows in street clothes with the belt. Always kinda disappointed when Alex's street clothes are a normal person's secret clothes and not some weird Russian stereotypical clothes. Konnan lets Alex know that the Legion is coming for his title soon enough, but but he's got a surprise for TripleMania – Alex gets to pick his opponent for TripleMania. Alex looks at the fans, talks to the fans, and decides to give all three a title shot, to prove he's better than them all. Konnan thinks that's a dumb move, but okay – also, he thinks Tiger is going to win.. Alex's opponents seem to be somewhat offended by not getting a singles match.

Video Package: Marco/Latin vs Hermandad. A whole segment.

Konnan is back out again. This time, he's calling out his team for the next match: Chessman, Teddy Hart. Oh, I guess this means this is a match.

Match 3: Jack Evans & Vampiro vs Chessman & Teddy Hart
Auditorio Municipal de San Bernardino Contla, Tlaxaca, 05/25/2009

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 9:56 (5:41+6:15)
Rating:angle, not a match
Notes: What a rudo team, by the by. This gives Konnan a chance to recap the angle with Teddy & Jack, just in case it's about to be important for some reason. Konnan calls out Joaquin Roldan, who comes to the ring with a half working microphone, to present his last two aces. Vampiro is pretty obvious. Is his entrance clipped? Is the audio system not working? Vamp makes sure to hug Marisela Pena. Roldan introduces Jack Evans as his last team member, and the crowd cheers. Jack yells from the stag, while Tropicasas stands behind him and wonders hwy he just don't go tho the ring. Does Jack know this is supposed to be a match. Oh, he's here to cut a promo - “Legion Extreneja no mas! Hoy, you soy Triple A!” Konnan rushes Jack – but really doesn't get to do anything before Electro and Silver King attack him from backstage. Jack is lifted up, walked to the ring, and crotched backwards on the post. Is this still a match? Tropicasas asks the question as four of the Legion members beat up Jack, with dumped over the barricade and down. Announcers react to Jack being out of the hospital, though it looks like he may be headed back in. Chair shot right to the head will do it. Rudos assault Jack with chairs. Vamp turns up to try and cover up Jack, and he gets hit with chairs and pulled off. Too bad there are apparently no more tecnicos in the worlds to save these two. Tropicasas is still acting as if this is a match, even though it has not resembled it from the start. Rudos get bored with attacking Jack's head and switch up to go after his leg. Vamp makes it back in to be beat again. Chessman top rope legdrops chair laid up on Jacks legs, and Jack sells it big. Let me spoil it now: I think he'll be perfectly fine next week. Let me fast forward and see if this is going anywhere. No, no, still no, nope! Trying to stretcher Jack out doesn't quite work, of course.

Wow, this is still going after the break? Konnan has Silver King and Electro leave the ring, and Vamp just decide to stop selling and start beating people up. There's actual a tease of Vamp chokeslaming Teddy and Chessman at the same time, but Konnan makes the save. Jack stagers back to the ring, with a bloody wrap around his head, about 4:30 after he's sent out, and waits for the hot tag. Oh, wait, he's going to crotch Teddy. Chessman superkicks Jack off the apron (and Jack goes flying), but Teddy is able mule kick Chessman and superkick Teddy. Tropicasas has a snappy three count, and it's over.

Recap: crazy Zorro & X-Pac

Backstage: Ozz & Scoria happen upon a deep thinking Zorro, who wants to take care of Charly tonight, and the traitor X-Pac at TripleMania.

Match 4: Charly Manson, Rocky Romero, X-Pac vs Escoria, Ozz, Zorro
Auditorio Municipal de San Bernardino Contla, Tlaxaca, 05/25/2009

Winner: Zorro
Match Time: 6:03 (1:43+4:21)
Notes: Piero is ref. Match is clipped right off the start.

And the part they clip it to is Zorro repeatedly avoiding tagging in to face X-Pac. This last a minute and a half. The match finally seems to get started, a soon as they say they're going to break. Romero does a middle rope headscissors to start, and works backwards from there. Long clip during Ozz/Charly. As they wind down, the non-captains all end up in, and the tecnicos get dropkicked out. Ozz hits the tornillo on Charly, and Scoria does a slingshot tope con giro onto Romero. That was clearly over and past, not too close to hitting. Zorro and X-Pac have their kick fight again, and X-Pac wins. X-Pac goes for the Bronco Buster, and runs directly into the a cane shot. Zorro's cane splits on impact, splitting and becoming nunchucks. Rocky comes in and gets hit too, and Zorro gives him a curbstomp for fun. ZorroLock on X-Pac for the win. Zorro wrestled for about 30 seconds there and killed everyone. That seemed truncated, but I'm okay with it.

Video Package: everyone loves Mesias, but now he's got to fight Wagner. This is a long one, and lasts the whole segment.

Match 5: Alex Koslov, Dr. Wagner Jr., La Parka Jr. vs Electro Shock, Konnan, Silver King
Auditorio Municipal de San Bernardino Contla, Tlaxaca, 05/25/2009

Winner: Rudos
Match Time:8:22 (3:44+4:38)
Rating: ordinary
Notes: Staggered entrances. Alex has his belt. Electroshock has his sword, crown, and jacket with tails. Wagner his belt. Hijo de Tirantes is ref. After Konnan is ref, they try to get the crowd to chant for Mexico. Of course, that means Alex is captain. Rudos immediately jump tecnicos. Usual boring brawling is mixed up with long submissions holds that aren't going anywhere, but let people slay around a lot. This last all the way thru the first segment.

Match continues to be really boring. Rudos dimly whip Parka, and he stars the comeback after a missed double comeback. Alex enziguris Electro, who flips around like a fish out of water for a good ten seconds. Konnan actually takes spots form Dr. Wagner, wow, including a fallaway slam. Silver King/Parka is boring. Wagner sends Electroshock out with a backdrop to get this dive in. Alex knocks Konnan over with a missile dropkick, but he's not going out to catch him. Doesn't matter, Electro crotches Alex off on the top rope, superplexes him, and puts him in the Electro Stretch. Champion loses in his first match! Hooray, AAA.

Rudos beat up the tecnicos some more and celebrate. Silver King talks trash about Parka. Konnan talks trash, including pointing out how this proves Alex shouldn't be up with the stars. Konnan explains how the Legion is above everything, including commissions and empresas, then thanks Marisela for putting up the company so he could win it all. That's awful polite of him.

That's the show.
