AAA Mini Line - 04/12/08 (#828)
Recap: 05/04/08

Promo: Billy Boy thinks he can go to Rey de Reyes. So do I, since they announced he was going last week. Super Fly does his promo too, and I really hope it's the only two they do, or it'll be really dumb.

Match 1: Angel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Condor (c) vs Argenis, Gato Eveready (c), Pegasso
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 7:43
Notes: No entrances. Pepe Casas is ref. This yet another bull ring, but it looks nice. They do call him "El Gato" again. We've got random announcer with the standard crew. It's a Sunday, but for some reason Morales and Rivera are not here.

The obligatory Diabolicos fake break up happens during the Argenis sequence, which is much better than Argenis doing anything. Showcases, rudo beatdown three minutes in, Pegasso just reveres a corner whip to start the comeback while everyone else stands around (For a lot longer then they're supposed to.) Not the most high energy comeback. Crowd isn't as loud as previous ones, but it is an outdoor show and they've been inside. Diabolicos might have done more to each other than Gato did to them. Argenis gets in a Asai moonsault that takes some time to set up, and Pegasso lands his trademark twisting dive. Gato gives Mr. Condor a backbreaker and talks around celebrating. Condor kicks him and cradles him for two. Condor off the ropes, kicked into the other ropes, and drops to the mat. Gato picks hi up and give shim a spinning powerbomb for the win. You'd think a fast guy who have a fast moving finisher, but I don't really care enough about Gato Volador to figure that out.

This commercial break is 5:30. Crazy.

Promo: Also crazy is Chris Stone and Super Calo telling us about how they're going to Rey de Reyes. Super Calo's mustache is an excellent decision.

Match 2: Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown vs Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera, Ultimo Gladiador
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: Psycho Circus
Match Time: 8:26
Notes: Killer Clown seems to have a new bag, but it's not much bigger. Zombie wastes no tie getting a kid and walking around ringside with him. Again, security makes the save when they try to bag the kid. His mom is all "ha, what a fun game that was." They're trying to steal your child! Clowns jump the tecnicos before the whistle, and before the break. Piero is ref.

Joe Lider makes sure to get in a pointlessly dangerous bump. Juvi's not much in the mood to sell, so the clowns throw him around by his hair. Juvi must've been a pain to deal with around this time. He does take a double underhook faceslam onto  double knees and gets mashed good by a corner dropkick. MPs do get a comeback, with Lider taking out Zombie Clown with a head crusher while Juvi and Gladiador pulled out the others and dived on them. Tecnicos have some success going one on three, a lot of two Mexican Powers setting up the third's move. As soon as the MPs work over each one, the Clowns take back over to go 3 on 1 the other way. Clowns have Juvi pined after a Guerreros sit, but Lider and Ultimo break it up before three. Killer Clown sells for Ultimo Gladiador, which is dumb, but it ends up quickly. Lider tries to tope Psycho and ends up getting a chair shot. Psycho suplexes Lider so he lands back first on the barricade, and that's tremendously done. When Joe Lider is a broken man by age 35, should anyone feel sorry for him or should you just say "that's why you don't do stupid stuff, kids"? UG is killed by a powerbomb, Zombie adds a tope rope splash, and Piero counts three. Shouldn't Juvi be pinned? Did Juvi get out of being a captain here? Possibly.

Joe Lider is in a lot of pain and needs medical help

Noti AAA
- Chavo Guerrero appeared for the Eddie Guerrero tribute at Rey de Reyes. Which is next week.
- keys keys keys
- that's it. These are really shrinking lately - they're just doing them for the sake of doing them.

Promo: Antifaz, who seems to have shaved his head and grown a full beard since we last saw him, and Histeria talk about going to Rey de Reyes, which is totally not happening.

Match 3: Antifaz & Histeria vs Billy Boy & Super Fly vs Chris Stone & Super Calo
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: Billy Boy & Super Fly
Match Time: 7:21
Other Match Notes:
Hijo de Tirantes is the ref. Break before the match.

Early on, Super Fly and Billy Boy get jumped by the other two teams. Super Fly takes top rope splashes form both Stones, but neither actually gets around to pinning them. The two teams start fighting each other, and Super Fly and Billy Boy attack them all while they're in sunset flip spots. Lots of six men fighting at the same time, so it's chaotic, but they don't appear to be falling all over each other. Lots of bits like the tecnicos whipping the Vipers into the ropes, the Stones pulling the vipers out to fight with them outside, and the tecnicos toping everybody. Stones break out the chairs at that point for shots to the head, which is a bit disappointing. Stones bring the Vipers back in, slam them, and hit stereo moonsaults for the elimination.

Stones works as a rudos against Super Fly and Billy. Near fall on Super Fly after a double team super silla, but Chris ends up big booting his big brother, and Super Fly sends out Chris with a headscissors. Super Fly follows with his handspring moonsault plancha, and Billy and Calo are lift in the ring. Calo reverses a headscissors into a side slam for two. Crowd behind Billy. Calo kicks him and calls for a move. Double underhook, Super Calo starts to lose Billy but ends up powerbombing him instead. Feet on the ropes, one two Tirantes catches it. Calo looks at the crowd. Clothesline misses, Billy gets a kick to the midsection, and lifts up Calo in an inverted Gory Special. Behind the back powerbomb, one two three! Billy and Super Fly advance to Rey de Reyes, as we already knew. Super Fly stomps on Calo, down selling a neck injury, after the match for no reason.

Video Package: Mesias vs Cibernetico feud recap. Sorta. Not in any way that makes sense if you haven't seen it before, but you do get to see Mesias' death by fire/drowning again, as well of lots of them fighting.

Match 4: Decnnis (c), Scorpio Jr., Zumbido vs Aero Star, Intocable (c), Octagon
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:11
Other Match Notes: Pepe Casas is ref. Decnnis is captain? Here comes a loss! Break.

After Octagon's early run against all the Guapos, they go to a long crowd shot to cover up a clip. Except I'm not so sure it's a clip, because they seem to be picking up almost where you'd expect, Aerostar just starting out. Aero gets Guapito with a backbreaker, displeasing the Guapos greatly. After Zumbido takes his backdrop to the floor, Aero uses a no hands springboard plancha. It looks good, but tough to catch. Big clip during the Intocable/Decnnis sequence - as usual, they wait to do the clip until the second the wrestler (Intocable) is doing the move, so there's no doubt in your mind it went wrong. What's the point of clipping out the bad moves if you're pointing them out along the way? Guapos are in control of Intocable as they pick back up, though Decnnis is outside the ring and talking to Guapito. Intocable blows the double headscissors/armdrag spot, and that's not clipped, and needs a lot of help to get the shiranu. Another weird clip here, and then the beatdown starts. Octagon gets to make the big comeback because he's Octagon. Intocable lays out Guapito with swinging side slam, and it looked very rough for the tiny guy. Match comes to a halt as the Guapos console Guapito. After Intocable and Octagon take out the other Guapos with dives, Aero and Decnnis are left in for the end game. Aero gets a near fall with a up and over sunset flip, Decnnis stops him with a nice bicycle kick, but Aero Star comes back to slam Decnnis. Aero goes up for a moonsault, but Guapito crotches him. Decnnis climbs up and loads Aero in a crucifix, but Aero easily reveres it to a 'rana for the big win.

Promo/Video Package: Cibernetico talks about the title match with clips from the feud. They're playing the "6th Gate" by "666" thru this - those are the weird gate number bits in english.

Match 5: Extreme Tiger, Halloween (c), TJ Xtreme vs Kenzo Suzuki, Konnan (c), Mr. Niebla
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: Familia de Tijuana
Match Time: 11:12
Other Match Notes: This can not possibly be any good. Konnan is wearing his LAX shirt. Piero is ref. Jesus gives Konnan the longest introduction ever. Halloween attempts to do his own introductions again, but Konnan does not approve of Halloween calling himself the true star of Tijuana. Konnan says HE'S the star of Tijuana and jumps Halloween.

The big news from this match was Kenzo can't help but dance on every drop he does. Knee drop, leg drop, elbow drop, just standing on the apron, he's a dancing machine. Sadly, they never did the spot where Niebla and Kenzo dance together. FdT worked as tecnico during the match. Comeback spot was quite lame. Tiger just reversed a Konnan whip, and didn't even hurry to follow up. Chair shots for Konnan, then a clip, then some one on one, then FdT did their team spots. Late in the match, Kenzo ended up in the first row, Tiger was in front of him, and Niebla swung a chair at him. Of course it got Kenzo, but swinging a chair into the front row seems a bit insane. Tiger kicked the chair into Niebla, TJ Extreme toped Niebla (barely making it there), and Tiger got in his barricade guillotine legdrop on Kenzo. In the ring, Konnan cranked Halloween with a chair shot to the head. Konnan wedged the chair into the corner, whipped Halloween towards it, but got reversed into it. Halloween inside cradled him for the upset win.

Promo/Video Package: this is a recap of Cibernetico bringing Muerte Cibernetica in, and then the big turn for control of the Sect. You'd think they would've aired this first, but nah. All of this is just to build the match on TV, since the actual show has happened by now.

Match 6: Abismo Negro, Head Hunter I (c), Zorro vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico (c)
Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez, Texcoco, EdM, 03/09/08

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 5:56
Other Match Notes:
Security is still letting people thru, but, they're rushing those near the entrance away a lot quicker. With the fireworks they're using, that would make a lot of sense. When Cibernetico enters, there appears to be security just off screen, stopping people from jumping him. He stops walking at one point while they clear people from in front of him. Head Hunter is the captain?!?! Why not hold up a big sign saying "rudos are losing this match." Abismo does not seem to have issues with his partners before the match, but I'm sure it won't take long. Break. Hijo de Tirantes is ref.

Cibernetico has to rant to Zorro before the match, because we've got time to kill. Hey, less wrestling here is probably better. Zorro jumps Cibernetico when he's telling us his name, and the fight is on. Rudos dominate early. Abismo annoys his partners by being totally willing to beat up his opponents, but often not letting them cheat to do it. Abismo will not allow chokes, and will not allow Zorro to use his cane. Abismo can do nothing about long generic crowd shots. Comeback starts when Head Hunter is whipped towards Cibernetico, but just falls down halfway. I think the idea is Abismo tripped him, but it wasn't made very clear. Cibernetico clotheslined both Zorro and Abismo to get things going. HBs like doing finisher combos, even if they're not getting in a pin. Charly topes Zorro, who falls backwards over the barricade and into the crowd. Chessman battles with Abismo, gets flipped to the apron, and climbs to the top rope for a top rope moonsault to the floor. It lands fine on Zorro and Charly, so maybe the short prayer Chessman said before helped. With Head Hunter and Cibernetico elsewhere, Abismo is left alone in the ring. Mr. Niebla runs out to fix that. Hijo de Tirantes is watching the guy outside and has no idea of the fight going in behind him. Abismo gives Niebla a backbreaker and dropkicks out, following with a tope. Captains come back in, and Head Hunter manages to get control with a meaty clothesline and a fat splash. Head Hunter goes fro the moonsault, and actually gets to do it, but Cibernetico is long gone by them. Kick, quasi chokeslam, one two three. That looked a better than it probably had any right, so points for Head Hunter and Cibernetico.

Antifaz and Histeria rush out to beat Abismo, taking it in the ring for a stomp down. HBs and Hijo de Tirantes decides just to leave them be and walk away. Vipers untie Abismo's mask and pull it off (blond/brown hair). Security eventually brings it up. HBs post one the stage, and we get one more generic crowd shot. Security can't quite keep the Vipers separated. Konnan comes to ringside and - starts stomping Abismo, huh. Zorro and Head Hunter have recovered to run off security, so Abismo could really use some sort of help now. Cibernetico, Chessman and Charly decide to run in on their own match to scare off the rudos, but I guess it got Cibernetico's music played again. Oh, also Cibernetico gets to talk. HBs pose as the doctor eventually shows up to check on Abismo, who hasn't moved in four minutes. Replays, and Abismo is strecher-ed out. Will he make Rey de Reyes? yea, probably.

Closing highlight package and we're out.
