AAA Mini Line - 02/16/08 (#820)
Recap: 02/21/08

Jesus Z introduces the show from a rooftop, and I'm completely by the mysterious object floating around his head. Is it a faraway blimp? Is it a pole close behind? Is it some production equipment oddly into view? Does he purposefully move over to hide it? And then it turns out to be a bolt keeping two glass panels behind him together. He's not on a roof, he's in a building and standing in the right spot. Anyway, Dr. Morales is with the crew this week.

Last week: Mesias got sorta crucified and the Legion promised Cibernetico would be next. I guess they're just going on break for the next few months.

Interview: with the Junior Pirates! Since they're nicely lined up here, we can differentiate between them besides the random red beard. Pirata Jr. is the shortest, thickest and tattooed, while Hijo is the tallest and best build of the third of the third. Hijo needs to do something to get a nickname ASAP. Anyway, Jesus talks about the great young team that's impressing many - the Psycho Circus. Pirates are not amused. Pirata Jr. does all the talking.

Match 1: Killer Clown (c), Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown vs Barba Roja, Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. (c)
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Psycho Circus
Match Time: 5:23
Notes: I think both teams are rudos here, which doesn't really make sense for un-established teams. Zombie steals a child form the audience and carries it to ringside on his back in as safely unsafe ways possible. Hijo de Tirantes makes the save. Break before the match. People in the crowd do get to chanting for Piratas, but only a few.

Clowns jump the Pirates before the bell and destroy them for a bit. Nice bit with everyone doing a vertical suplex at the same time, with Killer holding his for a hanging suplex. One Pirate tries a quebrada and gets caught. Zombie does a pescado. Clowns have no shortage of tag team maneuvers, so they've been working this somewhere before they started here. Pirata Jr. is the last one in the ring and tries to knock everyone down with chest slaps. No luck. Running plancha is caught by all and tossed behind their backs. Secondary Pirates pull out JR. on a whip to break up the run, then crawl back in when the crowns go out. Psycho stands on the apron, and Barba Roja is boosted into a flying, uh, elbow smash. That didn't look quite right. Secondary Pirates get it together with pescados onto the two clowns left on the floor. Clowns go 1 for 2 on catching (Error on Killer, who doesn't sell it anyway) and Psycho handles Jr. alone in the ring for a moment. Pirata Jr. moves out of the way of a second rope senton con giro,  ands set up for his own top rope move, but an outside in quebrada meets knees. Psycho powerbomb, and one more for good measure. One foot pose, one two three. Total one sided again.

And since they've been so great about making the Clowns look like monsters, here's Pirata Morgan to force them all to sell. Actually, after Pirata gets in a couple shots on Zombie, the other clowns catch up to Pirata Morgan and thrash him too. Pirata Morgan's Sr. right arm is worked enough to make me wonder if I missed an injury angle. Abrupt cut to a replay in here.

Interview: Mini Abismo Negro. Discussion about Mini Abismo working in Puerto Rico and that traitor Mini Charly Manson. You may recall the Vipers, big and small, beat up Mini Charly to start this, but Mini Abismo doesn't seem to see it the same way.

Match 2: Jerrito Estrada, Mini Abismo Negro (c), Mini Histeria vs Mascarita Divina, Mini Charly Manson, Octagoncito (c)
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 14:21 (5:25+7:56)
Notes: Rudos jump the tecnicos as they enter. Mini Abismo slams Mini Charly on the carpet. Octagoncito is third out and figures out to rush the ring, but by then they've stopped jumping people. Copetes is the ref, last in to the ring, and jumping over the top rope to get there. Histeria successfully gets the Charly chant going by starting it himself. Rudos control for the first thee minutes, and I had to watch the comeback spot a few times to figure it out. I think Charly Manson reversed a double flapjack into a faceslam on both guys, but not in any way that makes sense. Charly followed by completely whiffing on a superkick to Mini Abismo, which Mini Abismo didn't bother selling. Charly's fired up swinging chest slaps/punches/whatever actually worked better, but everyone seemed to be in everyone else's way for a moment. Octagoncito kills Mini Abismo on a slingshot legdrop - the landing did not look good. Break soon after.

Copetes starts screwing tecnicos randomly after the break, always annoying. This seems slightly better than the minis matches we've seen lately, with all the guys noticeably fired up, but the crowd is way more into it then recent matches. Octagoncito bangs his shins hard during a Asai Moonsault, which took him and Jerrito into the barricade. It seems like they're tighter around the ring to usual, and no one's using the entrance side for some reason. The big Mini Abismo/Charly Manson change ends with a clothesline over the ropes and a dive fake, which I guess means it's not the big exchange. Mini Abismo calls a timeout on the outside, and Copetes approves it. That's at least different. Match slows down from that point, and Charly ends up getting a top rope plancha on Jerrito Estrada (without look especially good). Histeria sends Octagoncito out and topes him. Divina sends Mini Abismo out with a super spinning headscissors, and follows with a top rope plancha, but Abismo catches him and drops him on the barricade. Abismo poses, and Min Charly stands in the ring waiting for something to happen. Mini Abismo rushes into a backdrop, Mini Charly covers, Copetes slow counts a two. Mini Histeria distracts as Mini Abismo unties his mask and tries to powerbomb Mini Charly. Mini Charly reverses to a faceslam, but Mini Abismo is fine enough to toss his mask to Mini Charly. Copetes turns around that's the match. It didn't feel good for me, but the crowd is hot for it.

Noti AAA
- SIGNS SIGNS BRING SIGNS. They gave awards to those with the best signs.
- NOAH You Tube footage.
- La Parka visited a Takewon Do training center. A little late for him to learning to fight.
- Why are they interviewing Ishimori now? Awesomely, an interview of a Japanese guy on a Spanish show is done half in English.
- Rey de Reyes coming soon.

Vignette: with the Nigth Queens - it'd be nice if they could spell the name of the group. They all threaten Pimpinela and Cassandro. Billy has sunglasses, outside at night, for some reason.

Match 3: Jesse, Nygma, Polvo de Esterllas (c), Yuriko vs Billy Boy, Casandro, Mascara Divina (c), Pimpinela Escarlata
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Night Queens
Match Time: (9:18)
Other Match Notes: Rudos patiently wait till everyone enters before jumping them. Tecnicos turn it around rather quick, Billy and Divina pulling out Jessy and Yuriko as they run for big sits on the other tecnicos. Tecnico showcase from there. Something Casandro does gets cut rather noticeably. She's last in the rotation, and the rudos immediately start a beatdown after the tag. It's a bit mechanical and everyone's looked better earlier (Polvo and Divina are the least.) The tecnicos make a surprisingly quick comeback, Pimpi ducking a Polvo top rope move to kick start it. Somewhat organized chaos from there, including Billy Boy being tossed into a tornillo and Divina adding his own tope. Pimpi and Cassi try their own topes on Nygma and Polvo, bit those two pull out metal buckets to block the shots. Copetes allows that, and Nygma hitting Billy with one inside the ring. Jessy missile dropkicks Billy out of the ring. Divina manages to clear both Jessy and Nygma out and grab Nygma's bucket (or pan or whatever it is), but Copetes grabs it on the back swing. While they argue, Polvo smashes Divina with a plastic pot (maybe? we never really saw) and Copetes has no problem counting that. The object exploded on impact, but Divina is KOed. Night Queens beat up everyone else.

Vignette: Bello Greco has his boys working harder and harder in the gym. Gotta make up for that loss, I guess. MORE WEIGHT. I'm ore interested in the guy in the back ground who's totally hitting on two women. Anyway, the Stones plans on winning some of these matches. I hope the cover version of Alan Stone's music we're hearing here doesn't mean they lost the rights to normal version. Alan tries to make the case that they already look good, but Bello Greco wants them better. Everyone's went back to normal(ish) hair color over the holidays, I guess. Bello Greco works out too, which only seems fair.

Match 4: Electro Shock, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro (c) vs Alan Stone (c), Chris Stone, Super Calo
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Stones by DQ
Match Time: 16:29 (12:44+3:45)
Other Match Notes: Oh, good, he's got the real version. Alan Stone's music is somewhere in my top five favorite AAA things right now . Bello Greco is out with Alan. Bello Stones color of the day is GREEN. Electro's grown his hair out. Or gotten extensions, I dunno. So has Kenzo. Crowd is chanting Zorra before the man even appears. Zorro has fireworks? Dr. Morales works hard to get people chanting Zorra. Pepe Casas is the ref.

Legion teases an even start but quickly jump the rudos. 4 for 4! High of the beatdown is Zorro getting to an argument with an older women in the crowd, who starts throwing chips at him. Editors can't decide if they want to show this or not, it seems. Zorro's cane is legal this week. Rudos start their comeback off a Chris Stone missed charge after 7 minutes. Break after Alan's showcase. In the end, Alan jumps into a cane shot from Zorro, and BEllo Greco grabs the cane before it can be used again. While Bello Greco and Zorro argue, Alan tries to dropkick Zorro but gets his dead (except that's not what occurs at all, that's just how they sell it.) Zorro gets his cane back, breaks up a Chris Stone submission hold, and his guys stomp down the stones. Pepe Casas lets all the caning go, but the stomping is TOO MUCH and the rudos get DQed. Legion looks like winners, Stones are completely dead but their music plays. Stones get beat up a little more after the match.

Interview: Jesus Z tries to introduce Chessman but Chessman immediately steals away the microphone to yell at Halloween, then politely returns the microphone. Chessmen's blank gray eyes (thanks to contacts) are really disturbing. Chessman tells us there's only one star from Tijuana - Rey Misterio Jr - and Halloween's not in his league.

Match 5: Halloween vs Chessman
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Halloween
Match Time: 9:02
Other Match Notes: Halloween's got Tiger as backup. Chessman's music cuts off Halloween's  introduction. Charly's out with him. Hijo de Tiratnes is ref.

Halloween tries to charge Chessman before the match, but Chessman is paying attention and waves him by. Chessman ends flipped to to the apron, knocks Halloween away, and drops him with a missile dropkick. Chessman goes up top again, trying to finish this in seconds with a moonsault, but Halloween rolls out of the way. Halloween stops him with a dropkick to the head and gets much posing it. Chop. Chop. Corner whip, reversed, Chessman charges into a Halloween back elbow. Chessman is much bigger. Halloween charges out, right into a powerslam one two th-no. Chop. Whip, Halloween ducks under a clothesline, ducks under a punch, grabs the ropes and gets out. Only for Charly to throw him right back in. Chessman kicks Halloween in the side of the head a couple times. Crowd behind Chessman. Whip, reversed, Halloween puts his head down too soon and gets it kicked. Chessman off the ropes, and Halloween thrust kicks him. Chessman is staggered but now down. Halloween off the ropes, clothesline, Chessman still standing. Another - no, Chessman boots him, and slides him chest first to the floor. Crowd shot, and back to Chessman - TOPE. Halloween got stood up into the (too close) barricade and Chessman was the only one who actually fell down, somehow looking worse of it. Fans start quickly counting guys out, but both men take their times getting back in. Tiger grabs a chair and sets it inside the ring as the two participants come back in. Chessman misses a charge, but blocks Halloween's punch and starts chopping him. Chessman poses, gets distracted, and that's all Halloween needs to get the chair. Shot to the head, shot to the head. Chessman gets a hand up to somewhat block it. Charly protests to the announcers. Chessman may be bleeding, but it's kinda hard to tell. Halloween sets him up in the Tree of Woe and sets the chair again. Hijo de Tirantes will allow it, Tommy Dreamer sliding dropkick into the chair into the Chessman. Halloween eventually unhooks Chessman and covers him for two, before Chessman gets a hand in the ropes. You know, you may not be able to tell Chessman is bleeding by looking at his face because it's red already, but you can tell by the puddle of blood now on the mat. He's bleeding quite a bit, though only people on TV can see it at the moment. Halloween works the wound more, as Hijo de Tirantes finds ways he can yell at Charly Manson and take himself out of the match. Whip, Halloween spinebuster, Jeff Hardy double low blow legdrop one two no. Hey, a table! Hijo de Tirantes will allow it. Halloween sets it up in a corner, just in case you were unclear about this ending on a spear. Halloween poses a lot on offense. Whip, reversed, Halloween stops short of the table, Chessman wants to spear him into oblivion, but Tiger's got his leg. Halloween slides out and grabs the other leg, and Chessman's crotched on the post. Hijo de Tirantes awards a not DQ. Halloween rabbit headbutts Chessman. I didn't even know rabbits did headbutts. Crowd is loud for Chessman. Whip, reversed, and Chessman gives him a spinning backbreaker, and another! Chessman grabs the chair and throws it at Halloween, who catches it. I think Halloween thought he was supposed to, but apparently not - Chessman yanks the chair away from Halloween and throws it at Halloween so he can't catch it this time. Chessman picks up the chair, swings, and gets Hijo de Tirantes instead of Halloween. Extreme Tiger pulled him in the right place, but still. It's not like he was helping anyway. Chessman throws the chair to Halloween again, Halloween catches it, and Chessman superkicks it into him. Tiger springboards into a dropkick on Chessman, but Charly dropkick Tiger out. Dive? Tope. Halloween charges Chessman, but missing again and eats the post. Michinoku Driver, but no one's home. Charly comes in - to fix the table in the corner, which had slumped down. Meanwhile, Hijo de Tirantes is still out of it. With Chessman getting up, Charly grabs Halloween from behind and stands in between him and the table. This is a horrible idea, Charly! Tiger slips back in, gives Charly a chairshot to the back, Halloween slips free just in time, and Chessman spears his partner thru the table. Chessman can't believe that happened (Yet again). Tiger chair shot, Halloween spear, deep deep leg hook. Hijo de Tirantes takes forever to recover, slightly less forever to count, but the count is perfectly normally when he gets there - one two three.

Hijo de Tirantes teases a DQ one more time as the replays roll.

In Ring: clipped down, Abismo Negro talks about what Psicosis and Histeria have been up to while he's gone (not much) and is very angry for Mr. Niebla declaring himself leader while he's gone. Abismo looks thinner. Mr. Niebla stress the "while Abismo was gone" - what kind of leader was he if he wasn't around when they needed him. Abismo and Niebla go head to head screaming, and this doesn't seem to be solving much.

Match 6: Histeria, Mr. Niebla (c), Psicosis II vs Brazo de Plata, El Elegido, Gronda II (c)
Parque de Beisbol, Guanajuato, 01/19/08

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 10:04
Other Match Notes: Mr. Niebla gets separate entrance from the other two, and also a valet with a bizarre outfit. I think Abismo is just angry he didn't get a Transformer helmet. Super Porky has a super hero outfit, though he's having trouble getting the flying part to work. I think they might have just wanted to put him in a shirt. Seems like parts of Porky's dance are now getting cut out. Porky sings along with Elegido's music. Pepe Casas is ref.

Rudos jump the tecnicos. Gronda turns it after two, looking stiff. Ran has started to fall, which doesn't help things. Gronda brawls with Histeria outside, Elegido with Niebla, and Porky stares from inside the ring at Psicosis. Guess which fight they stick with? Yep. Porky does nothing for an extended period of time, and then there's an edit - Niebla goes from being posted to standing in the ring. They clip ahead to Porky stuff, but it's more because that's when they did the Dos Y Tress interview. Porky does a thru the ropes tope onto all the Vipers, but needs Elegido help to get back in. (Which is why he didn't want to go out before.). Ring is completely soaked, and it's still coming down. Elegido's trunks get pulled, but they edit it out. Elegido and Psicosis trying to run the rope sis full of comedy, and I Can't believe Elegido tries a top rope cross body. Everyone is moving slow and carefully, and this isn't a crew where they can cover for such weather problems easily. Elegido gets a plancha onto all the Vipers, too. Gronda shoulderblocks Mr. Niebla, which causes him to backwards somersault, fall out of the ring, and fall to his back on the outside. Quite a shoulderblock Crowd is completely dead due to the rain, and guys are skating around the ring. Niebla forces Gronda to one knee with forearms, as close to selling as he's come in this match. Niebla wisely gets out before he can do any more, and also so he can do his rope trip pratfalls. Gronda appears to accidentally take a bump on a double chop, because the footing is so bad. And then they try to do a springboard double armdrag! Not so good. Porky at least has fun with it, waving in all the rudos to whip him into the corner, and turning into a slip and slide. Rudos get the beatdown again from there, which is odd because someone should've really just pulled the plug already. Rains picking up even more. Elegido gets tossed off the middle rope, and Niebla goes up top, but gets distracted by Abismo Negro's music. Elegido gives Niebla a German suplex, Porky cuts off Psicosis with a stomach bump, and Histeria just stands around because Gronda's not in position. One two three.

Abismo taunts the Vipers some more. That's it.
