AAA Mini Line - 12/16/07 (#655)
Recap: 12/23/07

This week's show only aired on Sunday in the US. This show has a four sided ring, and the hard camera is facing the crowd (whihch seems a lot closer to the ring than usual.) Throughout the show, they tease Cibernetico vs Mesias in a title match.

Match 1: Mini Abismo Negro (c), Mini Charly Manson, Mini Histeria vs La Parkita, Mascarita Divina, Octagoncito (c)
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 8:00
Notes: No entrances. Pepe Casas is ref. Rudos try to dropkick all the tecnicos out at the whistle, tecnicos move, dropkick the rudos out and tease a triple dive. CLIP. The rest of the match is worked at sprint pace, falling apart for parts early when spots go aray (Mini Histeria whiffing on a dropkick meant to accidentally get his partner Mini Charly, then limping around with a hurt ankle for a while was the biggie), with mostly the tecnicos showing off but Mini Abismo getting a little in. Rudos never get a beatdown (that we see) and Mascarita beats Abismo with a hammerlock/headscissors cradle.

Antifaz and Mosco (wearing his mask - called the authentic and only) rush the ring and beatdown the mini tecnicos for no reason. Vipers, minis and all, start to celebrate, then everyone turns on Mini Charly and stomps him into the ground. That was pretty random. I guess because they talked about the Vipers last week? Mini Charly gets worked over more than tecnicos did.

SECURITY CAM FOOTAGE: because this is 'more realistic' than people eating at cafes, I guess. Anyway, in the last row of the stadium, Extreme Tiger asks Halloween what's up with Familia while TJ Extreme stands six steps away, waiting for his cue. Acting! Halloween introduces him, and that's the first time Tiger sees him. Familia comes first - they're going to take care of the Sect and Cibernetico.

Match 2: Cuervo (c), Escoria, Espíritu vs Extreme Tiger, Halloween (c), TJ Extreme
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Sect
Match Time: 8:05
Notes: Entrances before the break. After the break, Halloween tries a call and response bit that no one goes along with. Are they supposed to be tecnicos now? I dunno. Piero is the ref.

Tijuana did work as slight tecnicos, noticeable early on. It transitioned into "your team's turn to do spots, now our team's turn do some spots, we all do a stacked up superplex". They did set up a big dive for TJ Extreme to try to get him over as more than just filler, which was nice. As these things go, this was fine, but the booking fell apart towards the finish. Halloween covered Escoria, but Piero turned away from the pin to look outside - it might have meant to be a incompetent ref spot, but it came off as a rudo ref spot (that doesn't really make sense, since he's with the Guapos and has nothing to with either team here.) Halloween stopped covering and gave Escoria the F5, and Escoria didn't sell it, having to get up quick for the next spot. Halloween tried to spear him, Escoria moves, Halloween hit the post, and this was all pretty irrelevant so I'm not sure why it happened. Instead, Chessman came out with a chair to attack Escoria (which could've used some set up, but whatever). When he got in the ring, Escoria moved and Chessman accidentally hit Halloween. Fully aware of his mistake, Chessman left the ring, hid outside and lamented his mistake, instead of actually doing something about it. Piero counted a fast three and that's the match. Chessman ran away from the rudos after the match. What a hero.

Noti AAA
- AAA wrestlers will be at the sports parade this year.
- Dos Y Tres magazine press conference.
- At the press conference, Zumbido seemed willing to take on Intocable and the Stones all by himself. Decnis had to talk his man down.
- Prez. Roldan talks about GdT being a night of champions, and the participants for the cage match, though he almost forgets who's in it.

Vignette: Zorro gets off an elevator and Jesus Z ambushes him to ask him about the upcoming match. Zorro's not talking about tonight's big surprise.

Match 3: Charly Manson & Chessman vs Electro Shock & Zorro
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Legion
Match Time: 11:03 (2:33+8:30)
Other Match Notes: The entrance way is really tiny - just like the normal row between seats, cordoned off (by some security) to prevent fans from getting too much of the wrestlers as they come in. So of course, Charly jumps into the crowd and runs around a lot. HBs waste no time in starting the Zorra chant, causing the Legion to jump them. Copetes is the ref.

Charly escapes the beatdown long enough to run to the back, grab some chairs, and drop them ringside before getting beat. Beatdown goes on thru a break, but everyone ends up paying far more attention to Sabrina, Cibernetico's girlfriend of the moment, getting escorted to ringside seats. Rudos smartly grinding the match to a halt while everyone's distracted. Copetes hooks Charly's arm when he tries to get a punch based comeback, just to drag it on for more. HBs turn it around when the rudos put their head s down too soon at the same time. They get kicked, Electroshock gets worked over with chairs in the ring (including Nicho's favorite chair into a chair into a groin spot), but Zorro jumps the rail and runs up the stairs to hide. Charly eventually jumps the rail to chase after him, and security is so not ready for this fight. Especially since Charly has a cane. They're careful that only Zorro gets hurt. Long tecnico show case in the ring, climaxing with Zorro accidentally getting Elector with his cane, but Chessman accidentally getting Charly with his spear. Zorro slowly goes to the top from behind, but Chessman turns around in plenty of time and spears him as he jumps. That looks pretty good. Halloween does not, limping as he runs in. Spear on Chessman, and Copetes will allow it. Halloween canes Chessman low while he's at it, and Electroshock covers for the pin. Halloween runs away before Charly can catch up to him after the match. Charly thinks about going after him, but checks on his partner instead.

Replays, while Electroshock celebrates. After the replays, Charly and Electroshock are brawling on fiercely on the floor for no discernible reason. Electroshock breaks it off when Charly gets a chair, and rushes to the back. I have no idea.

Interview: Guapos aren't worried about Intocable and the Stones - they're superior! Guapito is in a sling here, and vows revenge in the cage match.

Interview: at the press conference, Jesus Z asks the Stones and Intocable about teaming up. They're the best, and the Guapo-ist.

Match 4: Decnnis, Scorpio Jr. (c), Zumbido vs Alan Stone (c), Chris Stone, Super Calo
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Guapos
Match Time: 7:26
Other Match Notes: Decnnis has his own music. Chris has a cowboy hat with a C on it, just so we might know which one he is. Stones are all in purple, Guapos all in white. Alan is now the tecnico who annoys the rudos with his dancing. That's a 180. Piero is in the ref, so I don't know why I would bother. Stones run wild early, then the Guapos turn the tables with a chair shot Piero just happens to miss. Guapito forks Alan in the head while Piero and the others take care of the stones. Alan bleeds a lot. Alan turns it around on a reverse whip and everyone not a captain gets eliminated on a dive train. Alan tries  'rana, Scorpio powerbombs him, gets the ropes, and gets a fast count.

In-Ring: Elegido walks to the ring in a neckbrace, due to last week's piledriver, and explains the situation. Elegido vows revenge against Zorro and the Legion. Looks like he's going to get a chance right now - Antifaz, Cuervo, Escoria, Head Hunter I, Zorro, Mosco and Ozz hit the ring and stomp Elegido into the mat. The first thing they can think to do to him is charging corner clotheslines. Head Hunter goes up to the top rope and tells the guys to set up Elegido. They press slam him into position, and Head Hunter squashes him with a splash. Replays of the splash - why are they pointing out the spine damage of a splash? I'm sure it's not good for it, but I would've gone with perhaps the stomach or ribs.

Match 5: Antifaz, Head Hunter I, Ozz vs Brazo de Plata & Super Fly
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 8:17
Other Match Notes: Everyone not listed on the rudo team has vanished during the break. Super Fly and Super Porky enter - why couldn't they find someone to be a third man instead of Elegido here? Are random substitutions only allowed for the Legion? I think the announcers are a bit confused. Rudos use the numbers for the first couple minutes, but Porky is TOO FAST and moves out of the way of a corner charge. It's all tecnico showcase from there, leading up to Super Fly's dive (again, he has to push away form the apron on the way down and needs to be bailed out by his opponents) and the big Head Hunter/Porky encounter. That doesn't last long, but Head Hunter does take a backdrop. Ozz accidentally gets Head Hunter on a top rope tornillo, Super Fly dropkicks him out, Porky slams Head Hunter, Super Fly adds a top rope senton, Antifaz accidentally adds a top rope splash, Super Fly slams Antifaz and lays him next to Head Hunter, and Porky adds the second rope splash for the pin.

Interview: Jesus Z tries to interview Cibernetico, but Cibernetico takes over the interview. He doesn't appear to be worried tonight.

Interview: Jesus Z interviews Mesias at the press conference, who makes fun of Cibernetico whining for a shot.

Match 6: Mesias vs Cibernetico for the AAA World Heavyweight Title

Other Match Notes: La Parka Jr. is out first, presumably to be in Cibernetico's corner. Cibernetico gets a kiss on the way to the ring. Konnan is next out, so he can introduce the best in the world. Mesias comes from a different aisle and has heavy security around his every step. He's got the belt and looks ready to go. Mesias brings the doctor into the ring, and this is the first sign that's something up. Mesias really forces in the catch phrase this time. Mesias reveals not cleared to wrestle, even though he's not selling the injury, and the doctor agrees. The tecnicos are angry at the doctor. No title match tonight. The doctor says it's not possible for Mesias to wrestle. Mesias says he's got another opponent lined up for Cibernetico, but not for the title. Someone who wants to fight Cibernetico - Zorro.

Match 6: Zorro vs Cibernetico
Instalaciones del Inforum de Irapuato, 11/11/07

Winner: Zorro
Match Time: 11:11
Other Match Notes: Two matches for Zorro tonight, how fun for him. Pepe Casas is out with him. Having no ref in the ring before kinda gave away there wasn't going to be a match, but what are you going to do. Zorro totally ambushes Cibernetico by asking for a title shot if he takes this match and wins, but the way Konnan jumps to agree seems to indicate he knew it was coming. Mesias, who didn't want to give out this title shot, isn't really interested in the possibility of another person wanting a title shot, but he decides to give it to Zorro. Zorro thanks him! What a nice man. Zorra chant is totally unwarranted. There's a break before this gets started, and they treat it like it's a important, commission regulated, match

They actually try chain wrestling for a good 20 seconds, which is 20 seconds longer than you'd figure. A lot of Cibernetico getting a bit of control and Zorro getting out of the ring to slow this down. Zorro tries to put on a figure four (the huge knee braces were his first clue), and he and Cibernetico have a tug of war over Cibernetico's right leg. Cibernetico wins, and gets the keep it. Zorro is able to apply a leg lock, but Cibernetico gets the ropes. Zorro's got a good idea, but he's not strong enough to hold him, and gets kicked from behind when he stares at the crowd. Corner clothesline, and Cibernetico threatens to shows us his leg submission skills but Zorro's got the ropes. Zorro starts to put on an Indian Deathlock, and Konnan sneaks him the cane, but Cibernetico grabs i and hits Zorro in the head to get free. Parka slowly chases Konnan around the ring, and Zorro bails again. Zorro gets backdropped to the apron after a corner whip, tries to smash Cibernetico's head into the buckle, and takes it instead. Zorro takes his time on the outside again. Dropkick tot the knee gives him a moment of control, headlock, and Konnan gets in a shot to the back of the knee, which Cibernetico kinda sorts ells. Zorro switches to a chinlock, and now they're just killing time. Cibernetico elbows out after a moment, but runs into a (mid) superkick. Back to the chinlock. Cibernetico elbows out, and get yanked down by the hair. Zorro get tossed the cane, and Pepe Casas has to walk around him to yell at Konnan and be distracted. Zorro jabs it into Cibernetico's head, and slides it back to Konnan. If Pepe Casas is not supposed to notice this, he does a bad job of not noticing. Zorro bits at the impact point and locks on a chinlock, but Cibernetico throw shim off. There's moment of starting at each other and wondering which one will do stuff. Cibernetico's punch is blocked an Zorro lands three of his own. Off the ropes, boot is easily caught, Cibernetico spins him and goes for a choke, Zorro starts to block, stops blocking, but has the effect of making it look like Cibernetico missed on the choke. Cibernetico regrabs Zorro, Zorro spits him and shoves his arm away (more like it), then kicks Cibernetico. Off the ropes, into a Cibernetico clothesline. Legdrop. Cibernetico picks up Zorro for some bad punches, follows with a bad looking press slam, and Konnan is into break it up (even though Zorro's fallen loose before hand. ) Zorro covers, and Pepe Casas, who saw all this, counts one two NO. Cibernetico gets up right in front of Pepe Casas, Zorro charges and Pepe is shoulderblock out of the ring. Cibernetico chokeslams Zorro and covers but we have no ref. Copetes is out, and counting slowly. We watch Konnan have his hands right next to Copetes feet and wait - one...two and Konnan pulls him out. I don't know why Konnan waited until two, but it's really the bad choice of camera angle which made him look dumb. You're not supposed to see the guy who's going to interrupt the count until after he's interrupted it, but that's all we saw here. Very bad. Cibernetico argues with Copetes and shoves him out of the ring. Konan comes in, and somehow surprises Cibernetico with a belt shot. Konnan sits Pepe Casas as Zorro covers Cibernetico, and Pepe comes into make the count. One..two...Cibernetico does the 3.00000000001 kickout, except it's not three yet. Pepe Casas calls it two, and crawls over the pinfall to check Cibernetico's shoulders (and have a conversation.) This is laughably bad. One two three. That was greatly screwed up.

I was going to say that the only person who got over here was Konnan, but the finish canceled that out. La Parka Jr. wakes up from whatever stupor he was in to scare Konnan out of the ring. I forget Parka was even here, where was he when it came to Konnan's interference? Mesias is back out and talking trash to Zorro, which seems unwise. The man has a cane in his hand, and he just helped you out. Mesias is all "I am the champ, you can't take this away." The fans are all getting out of here, not very interested in this finish. They kinda hint at the triangle match here.

That's it.
