AAA Mini Line - 12/01/07 (#653)
Recapped: 12/12/07

Vignette: In Apache Gym, Mari Apache is destroying her practice opponents. Gran Apache talks up the abilities of the daughter he hasn't disowned. Why does the ring have no bottom rope? I guess it's easier for people to slide in and out. These are the things I wonder when I have trouble following the conversation.

Match 1: Billy Boy, Fabi Apache (C), Mari Apache vs Cinthia Moreno (C), Oriental, Rossy Moreno
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Winner: Apaches
Match Time: 8:43 (3:12+5:31)
Notes: So these teams make no sense from a rudo/tecnico standpoint, but they're doing family vs family. Morenos have matching ring jackets. Gran Apache, using a metal cane, walks out with Mari to reintroduce her to the crowd. He hangs out at ringside, though not specifically in the Apaches corner. Apaches get their fair share of cheers. Match has a fast pace and generally well worked, though there's a Billy & Fabi double suplex on Oriental that must've been horrendous judging from the editing. Teams seemed to get along for the duration. Dive train starts about 4:30 after the break, culminating with a Mari Apache top rope tope con giro onto three people. Captains are left in, and Fabi cuts off Cinthia from her dive with a missile dropkick. Fabi heads to the ropes for another move, but Gran Apache uses his cane to trip her up. Fabi turn to argue while Mari slips in and gives Cinthia a Michinoku Driver for the win.

Despite getting along for the match, Mari turns on Fabi, kicking her and grabbing her for a DDT. Billy charges, so it's a combo DDT/Rock Bottom. That worked a lot better than the Mesias spot. Gran Apache and Mari Apache celebrate on the outside. Cinthia never moves after the finish, and I'm not sure if she's selling or if that's where she hurt her neck. The doctor does come into check on her, but that could go either way.

Match 2: Decnnis, Scorpio Jr. (c), Zumbido vs Alan Stone (c), Chris Stone, Super Calo
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Winner: Bello Stones
Match Time: 7:48 (3:27+4:21)
Notes: Guapos all get separate entrances because this a show with tons of filler. Guapito, the girls, and Decnnis enter from the crowd for no apparent reason. Well, someone thought it'd look cool, but that's not apparent. Their entrance alone takes about 2 minutes. Chris Stone dances to his own music for no apparent reason. He's now got purple hair. He's so the Mascara Magica to Alan Stone's Shocker. Super Calo has a spiffy new Ric Flair robe. Scorpio jumps Alan in the aisle, which is the only way this one is getting started this hour. Piero is the ref, so nothing matters till the finish.

Rudo beatdown to start. I guess the Stone have decided that black and purple are their colors. Guapos all have blue trucks. Usual parade of finishing moves and then rolling the guy out instead of pinning them. Chris takes a double team triple pump powerbomb and a Decnis frog splash, and they throw him out. Calo ducks Zumbido slaps to start the comeback, Chris gets in a slingshot dropkick on Zumbido, and Calo completely whiffs on a springboard headscissors. Zumbido sells it anyway. How did THAT not get edited out? That double suplex must've been quite something. Stones comeback is pretty hectic and the directors only accidentally catch Chris Stone toping Decnnis. Guapito gets kicked off the apron by Alan, and goes down covering his head for quite sometime. Piero goes out to check on him, though nothing seems to come of it right way. Just as I say that, Zumbido's dumped Calo in the crowd and gone for a chair. Before he can use it, out comes Intocable - running over a cameraman, sending his equipment flying - who grabs the chair and hits Zumbido with it. What's really funny is the cameraman had just shoved a photographer out of the way so he could get a good close shot of Intocable. Too close! Intocable stomps Zumbido lamely, and then hits Scorpio with the chair as he leans thru the ropes. Guapito is in, but Alan kicks him and press slams him out onto Decnnis. I have no idea what Piero is doing, but he did realize a small man was flying. Alan small packages Scorpio, Piero belatedly back in, one two NO. Not sure if he was going to cheat there. Casita by Alan one two (only slight hesitation) three. What, Piero is fair now? What the heck.

Scorpio's bleeding, making him oddly the only one to do so far. Intocable, who the girls have been going bonkers for, joins the Stones in the ring and gets a purple scarf of friendship. Guapos recover enough to get in a shoving match, but that doesn't appear to be going anywhere. HEY, they got a replay of Chris' dive, that's some good work.

Promo: Joe Lider & Crazy Boy talk about being the absolute tag team champions of the world and how they really don't care about Extreme Tiger turning on them, just as long as everyone knows they're still the most extreme-ist. Jesus Z is no help passing them microphone back and forth so they can do a tag team catchphrase, but redeems himself now and forever by raising the roof at the end of the promo.

Promo: The last one was a pre-taped one, while this is live at the arena. Almost as if there was a Familia de Tijuana promo with Nicho that needed to be replaced! Naturally, this means more time for the Foreign Legion. Konnan talking, Mesias hold the belt, Kenzo, Alicia and X-Pac all staring. Konnan's all fired up about the Hell Brothers

Match 3: canceled before it's started
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Notes: Extreme Tiger enters to Halloween's music. No sign of Halloween. No sign of anyone else! Konnan, Antifaz and patented AAA piece of wood get brought to the ring. Lots of crowd shots, and we see then Histeria bringing another one. Mr. Niebla and Psicosis appear from nowhere. Konnan tells Extreme Tiger that he's got a lot of respect for him, he's got some skill and he might've invited him into the Legion. However, since Nicho isn't returning his calls and Halloween talked bad about them last week, and Extreme Tiger is with them but they aren't here, Tiger's got to die. Cue Vipers beatdown. I don't think you needed five guys to do this, but maybe Konnan just wanted to be prepared for the unexpected. Joe Lider and Crazy Boy rush the ring for the save for no good reason - I can only assume they were thinking about abandoning the whole Familia group on this day to the point of reversing the turn. I guess they're the scheduled opponents, but they were clearly trying to save the guy who just turned on them. Juvi shows up ten seconds late. Arturo Rivera announces this as a match and they blow the whistle, and I'm not really sure it's supposed to be - there's no ref, for one. That may help out some AAA matches, but I don't think that's what they're trying for here.

Konnan bails out when the MPs try to get him. The fights died down by that time, but X-Pac (limping badly), Electro, Kenzo Suzuki, Zorro, and Mesias all jog down to help the Vipers. Tiger gets powerbombed thru a panel. Lider gets powerbombed thru a panel. Juvi gets press slammed thru a panel. Crazy Boy gets press slammed thru panel. They play Konnan's music, so I guess its' over. It's ambush, not a match. I thought that was it, but they pick up the victim to hammer them in the head with the remaining wood panels. What had done was a perfectly good finish for the skit, and now they're losing impact by having it drag on and on and on. We eventually get to Extreme Tiger and his ex-partners laying in the ring together.

Promo: Intocable, who Jesus Z accidentally calls Alan Stone. They role with it, for there are no retakes in AAA. Intocable respects Alan for his skill and his tecnico turn. They're not friends, but they'd make an awesome team.

Match 4: Antifaz (c), Histeria, Psicosis II vs Alebrije, Elegido, Intocable (c)
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:36 (4:36+8:00)
Other Match Notes: Elegido is way over with this crowd. They do alternating rudo and tecnico entrances for no reason (expect maybe they wanted to space out Elegido and Intocable as far as possible.) Intocable teases stripping off his pants, and Cuije and Elegido dance with him after his solo is done. Vipers boot them all out of the ring and work over Alebrije to start. Copetes is ref. Alebrije makes the comeback quick enough for Cuije and Alebrije comedy. Elegido gets his trunks pulled and we get to see a big blur. All tecnicos for the segment before the match. Vipers start the beatdown about a minute after the break. Per usual, Vipers get distracted finding ways to break Cuije and the tecnicos jump them. Elegido puts his crotch on Histeria's face, though that gets a crowd edit too. Copetes is held for a Cuije low blow, and teases the DQ. He doesn't, but he slow and no counts the tecnicos from there on out. Antifaz gives Intocable an enziguri for a clean pin, but Alan Stone runs into break it up. He's almost late, despite Copetes not fasting counting. Antifaz is dragged off the pinfall, and Elegido very carefully gives him a German suplex. I can't believe Antifaz took that move from Elegido. Oh wow, he chains it to another, with bridge! This one gets more of shoulders than the first one does, and Elegido holds on for the slow three count pin.

Intocable charges Psicosis around the ring for a while, Mr. Niebla rushes out to help his guys, and Alebrije hits everyone with a chair. They can't deiced which group is supposed to get the better of it, and eventually just walk away from each other for the stalemate.

In Ring Bit: Prez Roldan talks about Verano de Escandalo. Mesias is the AAA Mega World Champ, but the titles are in play in AAA and Mesias needs to walk out now. Mesias is all 'YOU called ME out?" Roldan tells Mesias is going to have to defend his title, and he calls out AAA wrestlers. We get Octagon, La Parka Jr., Alebrije, and Intocable. Mesias versus Alebrije in one of the biggest shows of the year! Yea, not so much. Mesias says he's #1 in AAA, so he defends the title when he wants against who wants. Looks like Elegido has snuck out here thru some fireworks fog, but the camera doesn't' pick him up. Roldan asks Mesias who he want to face, and this gives Mesias a chance to rip all the tecnicos. Intocable is a just a dancer. Octagon is old. Parka is - well, he skipped Parka. Mesias thinks Cuije would be the tougher match. Elegido is not only a dancer, but just another dancer. And Parka - pause for cheers - well, Mesias would wrestle him one on one if it was for Parka's mask. Roldan says that's what the match is about - it's about Mesias' belt. Break in the middle of a promo?

All the tecnicos get in the ring and crowd Mesias. Who's it going to be? Some fans actually start the Cibernetico chant before he comes out, so that's a good sign (ro some nice undercover work by the AAA workers.) Naturally, he'd like a shot, though he uses many more words to say that. Mocking the catchphrase! Mesias says Cibernetico is not championship material - he's not at the Legion level. Well, Roldan fixes that - if Cibernetico can beat the Legion in the main event, he's gotta be at the Legion's level and deserving of the shot. Mesias is not thrilled with that, but that's how it's going to be.

No break leading into the next match.

Match 5: Electroshock, Mesias (C), Zorro vs Gronda II, La Parka Jr. (c), Octagon
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 11:39 (1:58+9:41)
Other Match Notes:
Lots of people coming out who were just here. Parka still has his shoulder strap, but hides it with a t-shirt till the match starts. Pepe Casas is ref. Tecnicos jump the rudos in a odd turn. Mesias ends up getting back all the way up the aisle by Parka, in a very CMLL reminiscent bit. The difference here is Mesias gets pelted with garbage. Mesias teases coming in the ring to face Parka, but flips him the bird and bails. Break during the stalling.

Tecnicos showcase to start. Mesias isn't showing any injury, but he also bails out of taking a body slam from Gronda. That may just be him being smart, but he doesn't get much involved when Octagon is in, and just bumps once for La Parka on a kick before getting out. Rudos start the beatdown after 8 minutes of post break tecnicos showcase, so Mesias doesn't have to bump any longer. Zorro's cane is legal - they'd been so good about that all night. At least here it was meant to mean something, as La Parka sells a shot to his injured shoulder huge, the other tecnicos stay down after taking their shots, Pepe checks on them, and Mesias runs Parka over with a belt shot to the head for the finish. Didn't need more than that. Parka is escorted to the back, and probably should've have walked close enough to the aisle where everyone could touch his bad shoulder.

Match 6: X-Pac, Kenzo Suzuki, Konnan, Mr. Niebla vs Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico
Plaza de Toros La Concordia, Orizaba, Veracruz, 10/20/07

Winner: Hell Brothers
Match Time: 4:25
Other Match Notes:
Konnan is out with Mr. Niebla (actually, it's the other way according to the music), and not immediately clear if he's replacing X-Pac or what. Waltman is walking better, but if he was that hurt before and Niebla's has no match tonight, it'd make sense - but they end up working it as a handicap match for no reason. Charly Manson has a 4 year old Kid Charly Manson with him, and they both do the pose. Hell Brothers get individual entrances by gather together on the stage. Cibernetico is wearing an Apocalyptic Pose outfit, but sheds it on the stage to rush the ring (as fast as he rushes). Hijo de Tirantes is the last guy out, which is odd for a ref. They explain the "Cibernetico wins, he gets a title shot" stop before the match.

Rudos jump tecnicos after the break, and as stated before, it's a 4 on 3. Beatdown brawl goes into the crowd, and Mesias, Antifaz, Histeria and Psicosis watch from the stage. Why don't they just join in? I guess run-ins are illegal this week. Kenzo and Cibernetico end up alone in the ring. Kenzo clotheslines Cibernetico, does a normal kneedrop, and then does the wacky dancing and posing. Shot of the rudos on the stage, and Cibernetico is suddenly chokeslamming Kenzo in the ring. Clip or bad production? I have no idea. Anyway, rudos are very upset and Cibernetico makes belt motions.

Everyone kills time for five minutes because there's still way too much TV time left, highlight pack is shown, and that's it.
