AAA Mini Line - 11/24/07 (#652)
Recapped: 11/25-6/07

Match 1: Polvo de Estrellas, Billy Boy, Fabi Apache, Mini Abismo Negro vs Pimpinela Escarlata, El Brazo, Sexy Star, Mascarita Divina
10/13/07

  1. rudos
  2. tecnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 12:01
Notes: This is a match from this year's Solo por Muertes. Not totally sure of the date. It's more like a large club than an arena. There are a few guys there, but it's a lot more women than usual. Hijo de Tirantes is your ref, and this match is three falls for no apparent reason. El Brazo is supposedly doing his Latin Boiler (Latin Lover) gimmick here, but that appears just to be different trunks.

1: Divina/Abismo for a bit before we get Brazo comedy, including a bronco buster on all the rudos and the ref, and lewd behavior towards Fabi. Matches ends up back with Abismo and Divina in long enough for Abismo to get the fall.

2: Short fall, with Divina taking out Mini Abismo with a tope (which almost totally went over Abismo), Pimpi and Sexi getting stalling submissions, and Billy going for a sunset flip on El Brazo. That ended as bad as you'd figure.

3: Crowd seems into the match, but it's all Brazo comedy with some clips and not much of value in between the pauses. Dives aren't hitting today - Pimpi gets backdropped into a tope con giro and mostly misses Polvo. El Brazo gets Billy Boy on an apron plancha, but it's pretty hard for Billy to miss catching him on that one. Divina get a satellite armdrags and a hammerlock/headscissors cradle for the match.

Vignette: A visit to a graveyard, where Halloween is there to rant there. I keep looking for the tombstone that says "Nicho's Career". ANYWAY, the point is Halloween rips all the other groups, regardless of which side they''re on.

Match 2: Extreme Tiger, Halloween, Nicho el Millionario Psicosis II vs Aero Star, Rey Cometa, Super Fly
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 10/18/07

Winner: Rudos
Match Time: 2:26
Notes: So, Tiger and Halloween come out, and Halloween introduces the original and authentic Psicosis. Out comes Psicosis II. Halloween and this Psicosis have a hearty discussion, where I hope Psicosis tries to make his point by bringing up that whole Psicosis vs Psicosis (vs Psi-histeria) feud which proved the real Psicosis was Antonio Pena. Or this one. Or whatever. Halloween's flabbergasted at this turn of events. Since Nicho's quite obviously not backstage here, did Halloween not see him all day but figured, if he just did a glowing enough introduction, Nicho would appear? ANYWAY, Psicosis is apparently the replacement for the no-show in this match, and the rudos don't really get a chance to discuss it before the Air Force dives on them. Halloween and Tiger get crushed by topes by Super Fly and Aero Star, and then Cometa does his five seconds later. Hijo de Tirantes starts to count out people before the match has even started, which is a bit odd,

Extreme Tiger gets Aero Star with a Atlántida into a faceslam, goes to apron to pose for no reason, and then mistimes his springboard so he's goes down and under Cometa's springboard dropkick. Extreme Tiger sells it anyway. I figure it's going to be that sort of match. Halloween spears Cometa, and attacks Super Fly, and the rudos are totally in control fifteen seconds after being dived on. The rudos work the triple team moves a bit more on the same page than you'd expect for a guy who's not supposed to be here. Aero Star gets boosted into a Halloween spear, and they at least get that to look better here than it did it CMLL. Halloween and Extreme Tiger hit there triple legdrop and stop to pose. Meanwhile, Psicosis apparently hits a top rope chair senton of some time (guessing, we miss it till a replay much later), covers Aero Star, and gets the three! Psicosis is the smartest rudo ever, actually going for a pinfall on the beatdown. Break.

Halloween and Extreme Tiger beat up Psicosis for winning the match. Yea, wouldn't want that to happen. Actually, those two being upset about not getting all their moves in sounds somewhat reasonable. They really do much to Psicosis before Konnan walks to the ring. Konnan talks rapid fire about the history between them, wrestling in the United States, wrestling in extreme matches in Tijuana. Before Konnan can make his point, Halloween cuts him off and says he's not in Familia de Tijuana either. Konnan calls out the Vipers to kill them, which seems fair. Halloween's pretty much a jerk here, and Konnan actually hammers him from behind with the microphone before Mr. Niebla and Histeria show up to avenge their partner. Why is Niebla wearing a Yankee shirt? Psicosis is up and helping. Extreme Tiger gets powerbombed on his head, Psicosis gives Halloween a chair shot to this head, and Tiger gets powerbombed into the crowd. Vipers gave everyone plenty of time to move, but that was still something crazy. Looks like Halloween's getting his head opened up. Konnan works over both guys with his belt. Halloween does bleed, but red on orange isn't the easiest to see.

Recap: The Night Queens debuted last week.

Match 3: Jesse, Nygma, Polvo de Esterllas, Yurkio vs Cassandro, el Ángel, Pimpinela Escarlata, Super AAA
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 10/18/07

Winner: Night Queens
Match Time: 9:53 (4:43+5:10)
Other Match Notes: And here they are, all in purple. Whomever this Super AAA is, he's got long hair. Cassandro and Pimpi have a tandem entrance and matching gear, and get attacked by the Night Queens on the floor. Copetes is the ref.

Match is pretty fun, at a good pace throughout. Angel seems like the week link on his team, which I find surprising. Pimpi and Cassandro work great as a team and Super AAA at least gets in a good dive. I don't have anything written down about the Night Queens, but they're fine opponents. Polvo and Cassandro end up in the ring, Polvo misses on a swing with a cane, and Cassandro dropkicks it away form him. Cassandro slams Polvo and does a twisting moonsault, but mostly misses, so he goes for another. Polvo pops up, hammers Cassandro in the behind with the cane, and uses a figure four pin and the ropes to get the win.

Vignette: Guapito and Scorpio debate which of their many cars they should take to the show. Do Mexican cars normally not have license plates? Jesus Z tries to get some plot development into this match by asking Scorpio about Alan Stone, but Scorpio seems very unconcerned. We discuss how Guapito's hair is NOT going to be on the line.

Match 4: Decnis, Scorpio Jr. (c), Zumbido vs Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera (c)
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 10/18/07

Winner: Guapos
Match Time: 15:32 (4:13+11:19)
Other Match Notes: Guapos come out first, and then the Mexican Powers music plays forever before they come out - I'm not sure if they thrown off by Scorpio cutting a promo over their music or if was just random. They've got the tag belts. Piero is ref, so I can ignore this to the finish. The aisle is covered in smoke from the MP's entrance. Match is stretched out over a break. A lot of Decnis vs Juvi to start off, and they go back to it at the end, with Juvi about to finish him off with the Juvi Driver. Guapito attacks Juvi, pounding him in the back, but Juvi doesn't sell it. Back elbowing Guapito out of the way does distract him enough for Juvi to get a waistlock, and Guapito sneaks back over to low blow him with a headbutt. (Piero stares right at this.) Decnis get the German suplex for the big win. Seems like they're trying to make something out of Decnis here. They start to play his music, and cut into Zumbido's randomly.

Match 5: Histeria, Mr. Niebla, Psicosis II vs El Elegido, La Parka Jr., Octagón
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 10/18/07

Winner: Tecnicos
Match Time: 8:46
Other Match Notes: Psicosis gets to work twice, lucky for him. A couple young girls jump the rail to join Elegido, and everyone seems pretty much okay with that, so that must be planned. More mob him, and that's definitely not planned, but security pretty much lets Elegido figure out while occasionally stopping other people from joining the party. All the kids have no fear of getting in trouble for jumping the barrier at this point, so plenty more reach out and touch Parka before he makes the ring, including girls who were in for Elegido and had previously left. Break before the match.

Vipers jump the tecnicos. There's a group of the fans who've been chanting for Pimpinela at random intervals all night, who knows why. Parka is wearing the shoulder brace and looking hurting quite a bit. They probably should've had Alebrije in here to work for this team instead of Octagon, because Parka is unable and Elegido is incapable. You don't want someone who's unwilling. Elegido ducks a double clothesline about six minute in to start the comeback, and Parka and Octagon hit big topes. So forget me mocking them for a second. As the climax to a Niebla/Parka sequence, Parka gives Niebla a superplex, which can not be helping the shoulder. Elegido gets his trunks pulled down again and again they get blurred. It's clearly planned to be on camera, because they stick with the shot where Elegido's butt is centered in the picture, so I wonder if this is only US editing. Elegido follows by almost losing Psicosis on a suplex, and that's luckily the end. All the tecnicos beat all the rudos.

Since they were allowed before, of course girls try jumping the rails after the match. Security is mostly better this time - one girl makes it as far as the ring, but security trips her up and yanks her out as if they were an evil manager. And after that, they let girls back in the ring to dance with Elegido to dance older than their age. A boy walks in to shake La Parka and Zorro's hands.

Vignette: In a room from the movie Exorcist (or the same haunted house Halloween was at), Mesias introduces talks up his troops, especially the newest ones - mostly Electroshock, who's thankful to be brought back to AAA. I'm sure he is.

Match 6: Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico vs Electroshock, Mesias, Zorro
Auditorio Morelos de Aguascalientes, 10/18/07

Winner: Hell Brothers
Match Time: 2:50
Other Match Notes: Where we're supposed to get Cibernetico, Mesias shows up with his belt instead. He tries to cut a promo, but the Cibernetico song drowns him out multiple times. Whatever point Mesias tries to get across, he's got trouble being heard, and Chessman and Charly have to try and calm the crowd down. Mesias gets his turn and finally introduces Zorro. Break during introductions.

This isn't going to be much of a match, especially since we've got the rudos stalling until the crowd stops chanting Zorra. Mesias has to cut yet another promo after Electroshock's promo. Luckily, Cibernetico rushes the ring before Mesias can hit the catchphrase. Cibernetico hits spears on Electroshock and Zorro as Mesias hides out of the ring (and just off camera view - maybe they want to show us more than his arm, that'd be a help.) For some reason, Hijo de Tirantes prevents Cibernetico from getting the champ - maybe he took himself out of this match already? Still, AAA doesn't seem to frown on people not in the match getting attacked. Speaking of, here's Konnan. Cibernetico is meant to duck his punch, doesn't really, but just ignores it and punches Konnan around the ring. They, and Mesias, have an exciting stroll around the ring. The rudos have somehow taken control inside the ring, and they come out to grab Cibernetico, but Charly and Chessman get them with topes. Electroshock is thrown back in, takes a stunner from Cibernetico, a spear form Chessman, and a flying headbutt from Charly. Hell Brothers celebrate, but Zorro comes in and dropkicks the lesser members out. Cibernetico ducks the attack, goozles Zorro, but lets go to catch Mesias with a kick and stunner the belt right off of him, Konnan gets (gently) knocked off the ropes with a punch, and Zorro walks right back into the chokeslam for three. Crowd goes an extra level of nuts for the finish.

Cibernetico vows to send Konnan back to hospital, bring the AAA title back to Mexico, and does his best Rock impersonation. Zorro is laid out for his whole speech.
