1) Pesadilla & Taza el Feroz b Konami & Radge
2) Black Spirit, Orion Negro, Turbo b Black Thunder, Skayde, Vampiro Metalico
3) Hermano Muerte II & Hermano Muerte III b Coco Verde & Cocolores
4) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Super Crazy DQ LA Park & Super Parka
5) Villano III b Scorpio Jr. [hair]

I thought this was meant to be the Perros vs Santo/Wagner/Demon show, but obviously not.

Scorpio got a little bit cut and walked to the back without his head being shaved.

Super Parka fouled Super Crazy, then laid out both Park and Wagner and challenged them to a three way apuesta match. That’s a way of giving someone the Park/Wagner match without actually giving it to them. Muertes and Cocos set up the own mask match in the tercera.

IWRG (THU) 02/26 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLucha #304, Al Filo del Ring]

Oficials successfully defended the belt twice in a row! Which got them in trouble – the DF commission told SuperLuchas they wouldn’t have approved this title match if they knew they were scheduled to defend it in Xochimilco the night before, because they’re taking the risk of falsely advertising a title match here. (I guess the investigation into UG having multiple #1 challengers at the same time has just been kept on the down low.)

Oficials didn’t settle for just a clean win, they ran in the main event to beat down both teams. This will not end well for them. Al Filo del Ring talks to the team about their team and trios in a good interview.

This was taped for TVC Deportes.

The latest version of Mistico’s origin story:
– he knows his mother and father, and knows his father was a former wrestler
– still, he ran away from home for unknown reasons and wandered the streets for 10 years
– he met Fray Tormenta, and begged him to train him for wrestling, but Fray Tormenta said no (?)
– so Mistico started training in secret in Arena Mexico.
– Tormenta trained him anyway when he turned 20
– and Mistico also wrestled in Japan as Komachi
– he was renamed from that to Mistico and debuted in Arena Mexico in 2004.

That’s not complicated at all. Wait till they try to fit in Astro Boy and the bit about his home planet exploding.

SuperLuchas #304 also has an interview with Blue Demon Jr., very proud of being the first masked Mexican wrestler in ROH

(via SuperLuchas) Before Saturday’s taping, Silver King talked up his feud with Parka. Silver King suggest a retirement match or maybe car vs car, or house vs house, or wife vs wife. Do you really want to win an extra wife? There are upsides and downsides.

There’s a new El Santo exhibition at Universidad Iberoamericana.

Box Y Lucha notes the passing of Toro Negro Jr., two years ago Saturday.

Annual the wrath of god the box y lucha commission is about to come down on all those who didn’t get licenses in Laguna story. This is usually the end of the stories for the year, except maybe for one about how everyone got their licenses after all.

Rematch of this week’s main event, so obvious we’re setting up a title match here. By the way, there’s very little chance SuperLucha’s expected Dos Leyendas card (including these trios titles against the other trios titles in unification match) coming thru. Even the welterweight title match tease is unlikely, or more likely another day – that’s the usual method of CMLL chain yanking. I totally agree with the idea of it being neat if they did that sort of card but I don’t believe they do more than a two match card (and not a two singles main event match card) until they start doing them.

CMLL (SUN) 03/08 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

5) Canek vs ?

The main event is being sold on the idea that Canek will face someone he feuded with in el Toreo, and they won’t reveal it until the show. I’m guessing that Flecha is actually Skayde but I’m not sure.

02/28: Mexico, Neza

CMLL (FRI) 02/27 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones]
1) Angel de Oro & Angel de Plata b Calígula & Méssala
2) Mascarita DoradaPequeño NinjaUltimo Dragoncito b Pequeño Universo 2000Pequeño WarriorPierrothito

5) Black WarriorBlue PantherÚltimo Guerrero DQ AvernoMephistoVillano V
6) AtlantisNegro CasasRey Bucanero b Héctor GarzaMarco CorleoneMístico

Ovaciones says Negro humiliated Mistico in the main event in the main event, pinning him clean with the casita in the third fall, then challenged him to a welterweight title match on Dos Leyendas. That would work.

Semimain was straight falls. V5 tried a ‘rana on UG in the first fall, which of course was turned into a powerbomb. Villano 4 ran in during the second for the DQ.

Ultimo Dragoncito replaced Nino de Acero. Ovaciones actually lists Rey Bucanero as working the lightning match but that’s clearly a typo. A funny one, but still.

Mr. Reyes posted photos of last night’s show at Arena Neza on his mySpace. Looks like a bloody night, and that Scorpio Jr. lost to Villano III in the hair match.

LuchandoLibre checks in on Dark Angel wrestling in Japan this past week (which is probably a reason why she’s wasn’t at TNA.)

Proyeccion Luchistica has a short profile of female wrestler Dark Magic

Lineups aren’t up, but I’ve got to go.

02/27: Mexico, Dos Leyendas, Rey de Reyes

There’s a show tonight, though it’s gotten lost in the shuffle.

CMLL (FRI) 02/27 Arena Mexico
1) Angel de Oro & Angel de Plata vs Caligula & Messala
2) Mascarita Dorada, Nino de Acero, Pequeno Ninja vs Pequeno Universo 2000, Pequeno Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Rey Cometa vs Artillero [lightning]
4) La Mascara, Maximo, Sagrado vs Ephesto, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Black Warrior, Blue Panther, Ultimo Guerrero vs Averno, Mephisto, Villano V
6) Hector Garza, Marco Corleone, Mistico vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

The semimain is really the main event, but it’ll end up being the main event for the next month so there’s no rush now. Main event is build around a Mistico/Atlantis feud.

Most of the attention is on CMLL’s press conference: Ovaciones runs a big story on Ultimo Guerrero vs Villano V. In ESTO, Villano V requested that both his brothers work as his seconds for his title match. Somehow, CMLL was surprised by this request. They’re surely going to at least tease a switch again.

There’s a post on El Martinete’s board adding two more matches to Rey de Reyes
– El Apache, Fabi Apache, Aerostar vs Billy Boy, Cinthia Moreno, Oriental
– Teddy Hart, Jack Evans vs X-Pac, Alex Koslov vs a replacement for Super Crazy & Crazy Boy

I haven’t seen these officially listed anywhere. They’d be good matches, but it’d also make the taping marathon length – 10 matches, and AAA doesn’t usually cut down on time for these.

EDIT: I’m really tired this morning, but it occurred to me that it might be worth checking ticket master to see what they had. And they have a different lineup:

– Charly teaming with X-Pac and Alex and Zorro with Jack & Teddy instead of mystery partners
– Kenzo in Psycho Clown’s spot
– Gran Apache, Fabi Apache, Aerostar vs Billy Boy, Cinthia Moreno, Extreme Tiger as the opener.

That was probably an early lineup, but I got guess the post from el Martinete will eventually be proven correct and there’s a couple unadvertised matches. They didn’t mention the Mixed Tag match for Guerra de Titanes, IIRC.

There had be some talk of Villano III running for local office as a member of the Green Party. V3 told Box Y Lucha that he was a sure thing to win (?), but decided to focus on his wrestling career right now.

Rey Cometa & Pegasso are open to suggestions from the fans for a new team name.

Suburban Chicago News has an interview with local wrestler SWAT Cat. Video’s worth checking out for his giant mask display.

Ohtani’s Jacket enjoys Super Porky vs Asesino Negro.

SuperLuchas looks back at Konnan vs Perro Aguayo Sr.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 10/06/07 CMLL and AAA Verano de Escandalo 07, KrisZ’s news update and 30-20 in the top 100 countdown

THE REMATCH. No word on where Mima will be. No minis on the show leading up to the big minis cage match, which is an awful relaxed way to do it. Opening match tecnicos should bring the flag of East Frisia to ringside with them.

2) Quazar vs Katana
3) Astaroth vs Asesino Negro

Ultimo Guerrero vs Villano V to face in a mask vs mask match on March 20th

8:30pm: Update at the end of the poast

That’s your Dos Leyendas main event. I’m not sure if that was the plan all along, or if Villano III cost himself (and Blue Panther) this pay day by opting to do the hair match with Scorpio Jr. this weekend in Arena Neza, but CMLL announced a straight singles one on one match for the masks. Tickets go on sale next week.

The talk, when V5 beat Blue Panther, is that V5 would ultimately lose his mask in turn to build up a young wrestler. If you believe that talk, Ultimo Guerrero does not exactly fit the bill as a young wrestler. (On the other hand, one could say V5’s importance has been so diminished, it’s not the boost beating Panther would’ve been for anyone else.)

If Ultimo beats Villano 5, then I think we can definitely say we would’ve preferred this sequence of events to be Ultimo taking Blue Panther’s mask and anyone taking Villano 5’s. But, we need to keep on saying if, because CMLL’s shown they’ll do silly things just to do the surprise.

Other notes from the press conference
– Dragon Rojo Jr. has a new mask. No picture yet, but I’m sure we’ll see it soon.

– Hector Garza is starting a tecnico midcard group again. This time, it’s Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata, Angel Azteca Jr. and Metro. Hmm, who doesn’t belong? Maybe we can call him Angel de Diario.

No one remembers this, but the Angels were actually in Hector’s group last year – they were introduced as Angel I & Angel II at the time. Anyway, no idea if this is supposed to be a separate undercard act or if they’ve forgotten Hijo del Fantasma and La Mascara.

Since Mistico doesn’t like Garza, maybe now he can be free to complain that giving guys “Angel de Plata” and “Angel de Oro” gimmicks is totally ripping off and marganilizing his identity. They really seem like Martha Villalobos knock off Mistico characters than CMLL ones.

Update (1): Box Y Lucha’s take on the press conference does clarify that Hijo del Fantasma and La Mascara are supposed to be part of Hector’s group.

In big news somehow lost in the shuffle, Misterioso II was announced as a new member of Hijos del Averno.  We’re down to just Virus, Vangelis, Okumura and Lizmark Jr. as unaligned notable rudos in CMLL.

02/07: Mexico, GDL, Puebla

CMLL (FRI) 02/06 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, Alan in the comments!]
1) Molotov & Sensei b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata, Metálico b Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Loco Max
3) Astro Boy b Calígula [lightning]
4) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Shockercito b Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
5) Terrible, Villano III, Villano V DQ Misterioso II, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero
6) Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas b La Sombra, Místico, Volador Jr.

Mr. Niebla did end up missing the main event after Thursday’s car accident. Hope he’s doing well. Heavy Metal replaced him, and the rudos won and challenged for the tag team titles as you’d expect, except I’m not so sure which two it’s supposed to be now (since it clearly was Negro/Niebla last week.)

Villano’s team took the semimain in straight falls. They won the first and were going after UG’s mask in the second when Blue Panther ran in thru the crowd and fouled V5. Brawl continued from there. When it was settled down, both sides seemed to agree on a V3/V5 vs Panther/UG double hair/mask match for 03/20. Yes, they appear to be setting a main event for a big show *7* weeks in advance. Must’ve been an awesome planning session over the holidays.

CMLL (FRI) 02/06 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [ESTO, mt, CaNek-TaPaTiO @ box y lucha]
1) Metal Blanco & Metatron b Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
2) Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween b Boomerang, Meteoro, Virgo
3) Ephesto & Mephisto b Mascara Dorada & Stuka Jr.
4) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca b Máximo, Sagrado, Shocker
5) Medussa L Princesa Blanca, Lady Apache, Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Sahori, Dark Angel, Goddess, Hiroka, Marcela, La Nazi [cage, hair]

Order of escape was Goddess, Mima, Sahoria, La Nazi, Marcela, Hiroka, Dark Angel. This left Lady Apache versus Amapola, Princesa Blanca, and Medussa. Rudas beat Apache for a while. Amapola left, leaving the other two to bumble there way into letting Lady Apache escape. Blanca blocked a Medussa casita and got one of her own for the win. Blanca wins a hair and a title in 8 days.

Warrior got the pin on Shocker in the third fall of the semimain thru a foul.

No results from the Perros show yet, but posts & photos on the box y lucha board say Super Crazy turned on the tecnicos and joined the Perros.

CMLL (SAT) 02/07 Arena Puebla
1) King Jaguar & SWAT vs Karisma & Mr. Rafaga
2) Black Tiger (Puebla) & Tigre Rojo vs Fuerza Chicana & Siki Ozama Jr.
3) Mascarita Dorada vs Shockercito, Bam Bam, Último Dragoncito, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Damian 666, Pierrothito, Pequeño Halloween, Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Warrior [Mini Reyes de Aire, cibernetico]
4) Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus vs Mascara Dorada, Máximo, Tony Rivera
5) Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Shocker vs Ephesto, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Outside the minis cibernetico, this is just an ordinary card. That’s atypical for these fan appreciation shows.

CMLL (MON) 02/09 Arena Puebla
1) Toro Bill Jr. & Toro Bill Sr. vs Aguila Guerrera & Karisma
2) Asturiano, Leono, Pegasso vs Ares, Hooligan, Policeman
3) Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata, Fabián el Gitano vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo
4) La Máscara, Sagrado, Valiente vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero vs Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza, Marco Corleone

This card is about as good, so I don’t know who’s going to go to both of these. (Probably not enough to make a difference.) First time Hooligan’s been here since November.

WagnerMania has video of Wagner vs Lyger from 1996.

Lineups when they show up.

10/11: Mexico, Rey Jr., lineups

CMLL (FRI) 10/10 Arena Mexico [sololuchas, superluchas, La Afficon]
1) Sensei & Starman b Calígula & Méssala
2) Ángel Azteca Jr., Flash, Máscara Púrpura DQ Dr. X, Loco Max, Skandalo
3) Mictlán, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. b Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Negro Casas b Hijo del Fantasma, Marco Corelone, Volador Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza b Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero

Tecns won the main event in two falls, clean. After the match, the Villanos returned to attack Blue Panther. Dragon Rojo ran down for the save, then Ephesto and then finally Ultimo Gurerero decided to help out too. It seems the Lagunera guys have decided to rally around Blue Panther in his fight with the Villanos, which leaves three questions

1) all the guys who made a save were rudos – is Panther headed that way?
2) is this a one time, or an ongoing faction? What does this mean for the Guerreros?
3) Hooligan’s totally going to be involved, right? Please say yes.

In the semimain, the rudos got DQed for excessive violence, but they kept on going to win the second and the third (Lizmark foulding Corelone without the ref seeing it.)

Dragon Rojo replaced Virus, which makes sense in retrospect to get Dragon Rojo in the building to make his save. ESTO says Stuka replaced Valiente because Valiente is/was hurt from a head injury.

Skandalo grabbed Flash’s mask for the DQ in the second. Tecs took it in two.

Rey Misterio Jr. talked to Notimex. If there was a question about the recent Ovaciones stuff, it did not make it in here; this was more focused on the Dos Jr. rumors (Rey didn’t know if he was coming or not, but thinks he’s got the attributes to do well – he’d really love to have Perro Jr. in WWE though.) Rey’s NOT on next week’s WWE Mexico tour, since he’ll be with the RAW brand in Puerto Rico unless things change at the last minute. Rey’s was happy with RAW’s debut rating and fine with Televisa moving the show to a later hour, because it makes it “more flexible schedule”.

SoloLuchas interviews Bestia Negra, who talks a bunch about his pre-refereeing wrestling career. I wish SoloLuchas next page links were a bit more visible (or everything was just on one page, because you can apparently make them as long as you’d like.)

The next Dos y Tres magazine has the Psycho Circus on the cover.

Robert recaps 04/02/06 AAA, 04/16/06 CMLL and 04/20/06 IWRG

I guess Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu really is a bitch though b/c at the end of the fall he went for a slingshot somersault senton dive and HORRIBLY blew it.

CMLL (TUE) 10/14 Arena Mexico
1) Carrona & Cholo vs Molotov & Sombra de Plata
2) Calígula, Hooligan, Méssala vs Angel Azteca, Angel de Oro, Hijo del Faraon
3) Leono, Máscara Púrpura, Stuka Jr. vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Vangelis, Virus
4) a replacment for Alex Koslov, Máximo, Mictlán vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Olímpico
5) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara vs Misterioso II, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

As you’ll see, they had no idea Koslov was jumping, because he’s booked like normal next week (and probably the weeks after.) Not really surprised they still put his name up in the lineups after the rest of the world knew, because they probably didn’t know.

Hey, look, Hector actually teaming with his former title partners after they’ve stop holding the titles! Could be there’s just no other top tecnicos on this card, but let’s pretend they planned it that way.

CMLL (FRI) 10/17 Arena Mexico
1) Axel, Flash, Metalik vs Loco Max, Nitro, Skandalo
2) Máximo, Sagrado, Valiente vs Felino, Heavy Metal, Sangre Azteca
3) a replacement for Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza vs Averno, Mephisto, Terrible
4) Blue Panther, Ephesto, Último Guerrero vs Villano III, Villano IV, Villano IV [ri]
5) Marco Corelone vs Lizmark Jr. [hair]

Lizmark is teasing a surprise for his second. (Lizmark Sr.?) Since it logically would’ve been Alex, I’d guess Marco’s second will be a surprise too. Hey Marco, just don’t pick Mistico, that worked out really poorly for the last guy who did that.

AAA tapings results in a little bit.
