Tajiri beat the rudo for the night Sangre Azteca
7) Último DragónBlack Tiger V [mask]
Demus & Ohara helped out Black Tiger, so Brazo de Oro & Brazo de Platino helped Ultimo Dragon. Tiger pinned Dragon for the win in the third fall, but Dragon happened to have a foot on the rope and the comisssioner ordered a restart. Referee (Maya) got taken out, a second referee appeared, Black Tiger V looked like he was going to win again, but Ultimo Dragon spit red mist for the win. Black Tiger V is (for this night) Tatsujito Takaiama Tatsuhito Takaiwa, who had previously lost this mask to Tiger Mask V in Japan.

4) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly

IWRG (SUN) 05/22/2011 Arena Naucalpan
1) Saruman vs Alan Extreme
2) Dinamic Black & Golden Magic vs El Imposible & El Pollo Asesino
3) Centurión, Freelance, Multifacético vs Avisman, Comando Negro, Oficial AK47
4) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan vs El Brazo & Hijo del Brazo [IWRG IC TAG]
5) Drago (AAA), Electroshock, Veneno vs Fresero Jr., Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Oficial 911

This is supposedly Hijo del Brazo’s second match, and he’s in line for a title shot. Huh.

Hey, Freelance is back. Wonder what he’s been up to.

03/05: Dragon, Wagner, IWRG, Puebla, GDL

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 03/01 Arena Coliseo [The Gladiatores]
1) Trauma I & Trauma II b Ministro & Super Camaleon
2) Pequeño Damian 666 & Pequeño Universo 2000 b Iguanita & Pequeno Ninja
3) Solar I b Negro Navarro
4) ?, Adam Bridle, Durango Kid b Loco Max, Shigeo Okumura, Skandalo
5) Ohara b Brazo de Platino [hair]

That’s the 13th hair match loss this decade (that we know off) for Brazo de Platino. After the main event, Ohara and Ultimo Dragon agreed to a hair vs mask match for 05/09 on the annual Dragonmania show.

Solar wants another title shot, of course. (FWIW, this is match #23 since March of 2004 that I’ve counted.) Iguanita was probably a replacement for Nino de Acero and ended up turning on Ninja, who was destroyed.

Wagner (SUN) 03/01 Arena Lopez Mateos [the Gladiatores]
1) Chico del Barrio & Yakuza b Angel O Demonio & Carta Brava
2) Rey Krimen, Sepulturero I, Terry 2000 b Epitafio, Herejia, Rocky Santana
3) Bugambilia & Rossy Moreno b Caricia & Esther Moreno
4) Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido b Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. [torneo, semifinal]
5) Super Calo & Veneno b Intocable & Yakuza [torneo, semifinal]
6) Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido b Super Calo & Veneno [torneo, final]
7) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Olimpico DQ Canek & Cibernetico

Main event teams fell apart, Canek Jr. and Blue Demon Jr. made surprise run-ins, and Cibernetico fouled Wagner for the DQ.

Zumbido tried to set up a hair match with Super Calo after the tournament, but Intocable interrupted to remind Zumbido (and us all) that they have a hair match in San Juan on 03/20.

IWRG (SUN) 03/01 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Galactic b Soldado del Diablo
2) Imperio Azteca & Vampiro Metálico b Fenix & Miss Gaviota
3) Black Terry, Capitán Muerte, Xibalva b Chico Che, Eragon, Trauma I
4) Freelance, Pendulo, Zatura b Avisman, Fantasma de la Ópera, Tetsuya Bushi
5) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. DQ Head Hunter I & Head Hunter II

Jr. Capos won the first fall. Head Hunters had the second fall won, but ended up getting DQe for excessive violence. Still, they want a tag title shot.

Semimain was also two straight falls (as was the opener). Zatura and Tetsuya feuded thru the match, with Zatura getting the pin at the end. Rudos destroyed the tecnicos after the match.

Chico Che filled in for Trauma II, who was hurt (on the Toryumon show?) but still showed up to corner his team. Black Terry taunted Trauma II before, after, and probably during the match on way to the win.

Vampiro Metalico suffered a knee injury in the third fall, but Imperio Azteca was still able to pull out teh win.

The Glaidiatores also has a remembrance of recently deceased photographer Luis Napoles Salas.

Tickets have gone on sale for Dos Leyandas, running from $1400 MX ($90US) for ringside to $100MX ($6.50US) for the worst seats.

Over on LMdlL, Ricardo Figueroa has a video interview with Dr. Wagner from his AAA appearance.

Box Y Luchas writes about the Guerreros Tuareg visiting Nitro (Camorra is included as a member of the group here, which I believe is a first), a look back at El Murcielago & Kahoz, Okumura returning to Japan, and a couple articles on Pierroth: Pierroth II organizing the charity show for the recent one next month, and Villano III talking about a benefit show for the original Pierroth. There’s also new photos up of India Sioux, Chabela Romero, el Retador, Toro Negro and Black Shadow.

AAA has articles on Dr. Wagner on AAA shows. Alex Koslov to ROH and Konnan attacking Roldan

ESPN Deportes and Notifight also have articles about the donation to Fray Tormenta.

LuchandoLibre has a preview of Dos Leyendas.

LuchaWorld has Robert on IWRG 09/15/07 and CMLL GdR #10/13/07 and FSE 10/14/07 and KrisZ’s news update

3) Idolo vs Angel de Mal
4) Casanova vs Drago
5) Magnum vs Metatron
6) Maximo & Metal Blanco vs Misterioso II & Satanico
7) Shocker & Toscano vs Terrible & Texano Jr.

Oddly, Texano and Maximo are both on this show, the week before their hair match, and not actually facing each other.

AAA (FRI) 03/13 Arena San Juan Pantitlan [AAA]
1) Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador vs ? & Extreme Tiger

2) ?, Fantastick, Pantera vs ??, Violencia, Zumbido

Is there a worse worker in CMLL besides Ultimo Dragon? Is it possible TNA was fine with the list of guys CMLL sent them but wanted Ultimo Dragon pulled off the team and Ultimo wouldn’t budge? The guy is practically unwatchable.

(Does Mike Sempervive read this site? Hope all turns out well for him.)

07/07: Mexico, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 07/06 Arena Mexico [ESTO, Galeno Del Mal de box y lucha, Alvin @ el Martinete]
1) Astro Boy & Sombra de Plata b Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Nitro, Nosferatu, Virus b Flash, Mictlan, Valiente
3) Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kensuske Sasaki, Ultimo Dragon b Arkangel, Dr. X, Texano Jr.
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Alex Koslov, Felino, Stuka Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Heavy Metal, Sagrado b Terrible, Villano III, Villano V
6) Dr. Wagner Jr., Euforia, Ultimo Guerrero b Mistico, Negro Casas, Sombra

Wagner back on the rudo side, though still posing like a tecnico. Mistico almost got La Mistica on him, but UG broke it up, and Wagner landed a Wagner Drive for the clean victory. After the match, Mistico was strecher-ed out. Guerrero welcomed Wagner “to the side you never should’ve left”, and invited him to team up for a tag title match versus Negro & Mistico next week. Wagner agreed to the idea.

Panther’s team won it’s match in two falls. Rudos yanked off his mask in the first, so he was forced to compete in a Sagrado replica for the second, but still managed to catch Terrible in a fujiwara armbar.

Dragon/Sasaki/Nakajima was a unannounced addition to the show. Can’t think of the last time that happened, but that means there surely is a Toryumon Mexico show going on some place, somewhere on Sunday. This was said to be good, though no one had any idea who the non-Dragon Japanese were – that’s the lack of adversiting.

Valiente did replace Super Nova, so trust ESTO over CMLL’s own site. Virus fouled him and pinned him for the win.

No results from the AAA Puebla taping yet, but Sabu made an appearance. Rikishi and his (cousin?) Black Pearl are supposed to be involved at TripleMania. Hopefully just run-ins. It’s not like I can hope for no run ins.

CMLL now has a traveling museum/bus. It’s filled with masks, trophies, newspaper clippings, etc. If this is to be believed, Pierroth was driving the bus on this day.

CMLL hasn’t put up lineups yet.

GdR #85 has
07/01 Coliseo: Bam Bam, Fantasy, Shockercito b Mr. Aguilita, Pequeno Damian, Pequeno Halloween
07/01 Coliseo: Alex Koslov, Heavy Metal, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Olimpico, Sangre Azteca
Outside the ring: Terrible

07/05: notes

CMLL

In an interview with SportsNavi, Ultimo Dragon talks about he, Kensuske Sasaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima working a Toryumon Mexico show on Sunday, and Arena Mexico tomorrow. I’ve heard zero about this in Mexico and obviously none of this is on the card for Arena Mexico, so I dunno. Ultimo Dragon is goofy.

Texano Jr. and Negro Navarro are headed to Japan to work a show with Dragon on 07/22.

El Herlad de Tabasco writes about the overexposure of Mistico. He’s scheduled to work one arena on Saturday, fly to Merida to do a show there Sunday afternoon, and fly back to work another arena in the original area on Sunday. The Sunday arena is an AAA local promoter, so the writer thinks there’s probably some chicanery going on, but because CMLL hasn’t come out and said he’s not working that Sunday show Mistico works so many dates, it’s a possibility. More so, to to the writer, Mistico coming to your town isn’t as special as it used to be, because he’s working so many matches a week – as a far, you’ve seen him, and you’re not seeing the best of him because of the manic schedule.

Today’s eSdSLP AAA show article: Intocable.

03/04: Ultimo Dragon @ Coliseo, Accion

UDG (SUN) 03/04 Arena Coliseo [Mostro_K-Bron @ Satanico’s Mansion]
1) Bryan Lee, Kazuchika Okada, Toshiya Matsuzaki b Arkangel, Daisuke Hanakoa, Negro Navarro
2) Mima Shimoda & Sahori b La Nazi & Rosa Negra
3) Shocker b Chad Malenko [NWA IJH, torneo, qf]
4) Hirooki Goto b Veneno [NWA IJH, torneo, qf]
5) Alex Koslov b Pierroth Jr. [NWA IJH, qf, torneo]
6) Ultimo Dragon DDQ Tajiri [NWA IJH, torneo, qf]
7) Brazo de Oro, La Mascara, Loco Max b Hajime Ohara, Hiromi Horiguchi, Okumura
8) Shocker b Alex Koslov [NWA IJH, torneo, sf]
9) Hirooki Goto b Shocker [NWA IJH, torneo, final]

In their match, Tajiri blew mist at Dragon when he went for a top rope ‘rana, Dragon faked a foul, and the ref decided that was enough of that. This gave Goto a bye to the final, and while Shocker gave him a hard fight, Goto beat him to take the title. Goto becomes the 18th champion, and the first after a 22 year hiatus. I have no idea what (or WHO) is going with this belt.

There was an opener that the reviewer didn’t catch. La Mascara beat Ohara to win that match, so they might still be feuding, once every four months. I’m not completely sure which Pierroth that was, but I’m going with the name they’ve been using. Next big DF show for this group is May 12th, I believe – it doesn’t matter enough to go back and check.

ACCION

CMLL: Mistico vs Perro, what else? Mistico got busted one and his mask ripped apart in here, but railed to get in a dive and a La Mistica. Not as much shown of this match as I thought there might

AAA: Joe Lider, Crazy Boy, Psicosis vs Black Buffalo, Spider Nate Webb, Josh Raymond – Tim’s totally right, Josh Raymond gets wheel kicked in the face and that’s the end of Josh Raymond. Chessman helped drag Psicosis onto Black Buffalo for the pin, so there was likely some wackiness we didn’t otherwise see.
