You may be asking, “Who is Black Bufalo?” Well, he’s the guy in the middle in the picture, and that’s all I know. Glad I could help. (He’s working an AAA spot show w/Rossy vs Cinthia/Oriental this weekend, but I don’t have anything else by that name – new gimmick for someone?)

Main event was Legion dominated, with Ciber sneaking in a foul on Nicho and Chessman covering for the win. Semimain saw more Octagon/Fuerza stuff as they continue the tease. Juvi missed the show due to injuried suffered at the last TV taping.

The big news, of course, is the tag team tournament. Rey Cometa and Super Fly could’ve faced 13 teams they haven’t gone up against before, and they beat one of the three they had. They broke the tournament! Once I finally figured out what was going on, I shot off confetti in the CMLLBlog offices to celebrate this day.

MAYBE everyone faces everyone TWICE. So it’s 240 matches instead of 120, and this will go to 2009! I’ve reprogrammed the chart to allow multiple matches between teams, which was hard with the confetti all over my keyboard and such.

Putting aside the gross lack of logic and organization in this tag team tournament – and in AAA generally! – there does appear to be leaders forming and some sort of pattern here. Those top two teams are logical champions, though a rivalry between them would be tecnico/tecnico. They should cut this thing off right now, and just do a tournament with the top four teams; I’m only a fan of one of ’em, but if you’re doing midrange tag team titles in AAA, those four fit.

Next known TV taping is 03/03, though I bet my hat that there’s one this week somewhere.
