TxT (SAT) 06/22/2013 Gimnasio Juan De La Barrera [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del RingMedioTiempoYahoo Deportes]
1) Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. b Centvrión
Match had been announced as Dinamic Black & Imposible vs Golden Magic & Poseidon. 0 for 4.
2) La Chola & Rossy Moreno b Esther Moreno & Lady Apache
Chola landed a splash on Esther Moreno. Still teasing the hair match here.
3) Súper Muñeco, Súper Pinocho, Súper Ratón DQ Black Terry, Scorpio Jr., Shu el Guerrero [WWA TRIOS]
Straight falls for the champions. Second (at least) defense. More tease of Shu/Muneco.
4) Blue Demon Jr. & El Hijo Del Santo b Heddi Karaoui & Zumbi [PWR TAG]
Demon put Zumbi in la de a caballo while Demon submitted Heddi to an armbar to win. Santo & Demon’s first defense.
Rayo took falls 2/3 to win Universo’s hair. Universo has lost his last four recorded hair match.

A feud that restarted for CMLL this spring ends in TxT. Not to a great crowd; looks like maybe a third full. The ruleta de la muerte format does not appear to be a draw; this seems like it would’ve done the same amount if they just announced Rayo vs Universo.

CMLL (SUN) 06/23/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Bengala & Fresbee b Cholo & Herodes Jr.
2) Bárbaro Cavernario, Disturbio, Hijo del Signo b Black Metal, Metálico, Molotov
Barbaro & Metal’s DF debuts. Barbaro did a lot better. Signo submitted Metalico in the third.
3) Namajague, Puma, Shigeo Okumura b Bushiroad, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, Okumura fouling Maya. Bushiroad looked good and seems to fit right in. Puma suffered a left shoulder injury in the first fall and was favoring it after the match, but you wouldn’t be able to tell in his wrestling.
4) Diamante b Boby Zavala [lightning]
Diamante won with an armbar headscissors in 5:09.
5) Diamante Azul, Máscara Dorada, Mistico b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Tecnicos took 2/3, winning the last with a star and an Azul tapatia on Averno in the middle.
6) La Máscara, Rush, Titán b Mr. Águila, Psicosis, Volador Jr.
Tencicos took 2/3, Rush & Mascara getting clean pins in the third. La Mascara pointed out he’d beaten Invasors two weeks in a row, and challenged for a trios title match. Rush & Titan supported him, and the Invasors agreed – though there was lots of talk about mask or hair matches to come, and Psicosis threw out a challenge for Mascara’s title.

Show was okay. Title match came out of left field and doesn’t feel like a chance for a title change. Maybe it’s a chance for Aguila to get a convincing win so people won’t suspect he’s losing his hair. Maybe the story will be how Rush reacts if his team loses.

CMLL (SUN) 06/23/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Índigo b Samael (Guadalajara)
2) El Divino & Virgo b Acertijo & Jocker
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Esfinge & León Blanco b Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno
tecnicos took 1/3, Blanco plancha on Rey Trueno
4) Leo b StarmanGalloSmakerHalcón de PlataArkángel de la MuerteEspectrumRáfagaMaléficoExterminador [Copa 54 Anniversario]
Exterminador replaced Olimpico. Battle royal set sides. Eliminations: Halcon de Plata (Exterminador), Exterminador (foul on Smaker), Smaker (Espectrum), Espectrum (Rafaga), Starman (Leo), Rafaga (Gallo), Gallo (Arkangel), Arkangel (Leo), Malefico (Leo) leaving Leo as the winner. Americo Rocca and Gran Markus Jr. were honored after the match.
5) Atlantis & Valiente DQ Gran Guerrero & Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3, Ultimo Guerrero fouling Atlantis for the DQ. This sets up a singles match next week.

So much for me assuming the Puebla match would be their last singles match for the time being.

X-Fly beat lost to Dr. Cerebro in their IWRG hair match. More results tomorrow.

IWL announced they’re now affiliated with Pro Wrestling Freedom. Pro Wrestling Freedom turns out to be a small promotion in Kentucky. Of the 50 or so people on the roster, I had only heard of one woman; they’re much smaller stars in their country than even the IWL guys are in theirs. Mad Man Pondo is listed as alumni. This sounds like a very IWL deal.

Fuego/Dr. X, Rush keeps his title, AAA/TNA

CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 05/10/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLL, MT, Record]
1) Astro Boy & Bengala b Disturbio & Semental
2) Estrellita, Princesa Sujei, Tiffany b Dalys la Caribeña, Estrella Mágica, Luna Mágica
Sujei beat Luna.
3) Diamante, Fuego, Rey Cometa DQ Dr. X, Hooligan, Virus
Tecnicos took falls 1 and 3, with Dr. X fouling Fuego by DQ. Fuego & Dr. X have ended up in a DQ three of the last four weeks.
4) Felino, Mephisto, Negro Casas b Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente
Rudos took falls 1 and 3. Mephisto replaced Dragon Rojo.
5) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, Mr. Niebla b Black Warrior, Blue Panther, Strong Man
Rudos took falls 1 and 3, with Atlantis sneaking in a foul on Blue Panther.

CMLL (TUE) 05/10/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino b Thunder Boy
2) Magnum & Metatrón b Ángel del Mal & Exterminador
Angel del Mal’s first match here since 2011-01-25.
3) Delta, Gallo, Metro b Misterioso Jr., Puma King, Tiger Kid
4) Dark Angel, Goya Kong, Marcela b Amapola, La Comandante, Princesa Blanca
Goya Kong splash on everyone, of course.
5) Rush b Psicosis [CMLL LH]
Seconds were Misterioso & Metro. Psicosis took the first fall, Rush took the second, Psicosis used the middle rope to pin Rush in the third, but ref Loco figured it out and ordered the match continued. (Rush getting ‘lucky breaks’ is probably the least helpful thing for him.) Rush went onto to submit Psicosis to keep the title.

Dorian says Mickie James will be appearing at TripleMania. Jeff Jarrett continues to rant in videos for AAA; this one teases AAA appearances by Kurt Angle, Sting and Jeff Hardy.

Chessman explains the difference between Los Maniacos and Los Maniaquia is more anarchy. Not sure that’ll go well for Konnan. They’re in the semimain on the 05/18 SLP taping vs the Psycho Circus; rest of the card still TBA.

02/23 AAA TV Results

previous: 02/09, 02/16

AAA TV (FRI) 02/23 Auditorio Jose Maria Arteaga, Queretaro
1) Estrellita, Mascarita Divina, Pimpinela Escarlta, Rey Cometa b Kaoma Jr., Mini Charly Manson, Polvo de Estrellas, Tiffany
2) Alan Stone & Zumbido b Charly Manson & Pirata Morgan [AAA TAG, torneo]
3) Cuervo & Ozz b Alebrije & Brazo [torneo, AAA TAG]
4) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Psicosis b Black Bufalo, Josh Raymond, Nate Webb
5) Fuerza Guerrera, Pirata Morgan, Sangre Chicana b Intocable, Octagon, Zorro
6) Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico b Abismo Negro, Antifaz, Histeria, Mr. Niebla

Yes, 3 beat 4 (and Charly and Pirata worked twice.) El Elegido did help out the Hell Brothers in the main event, and the Hell Brothers repaid him by beating him up. If it was someone other than Elegido, I might be appalled.

Consgrados cheated to win the the semimain. Fuerza and Pirata challenged for a shot at the tag team titles – I guess it’s about time for La Parka and Octagon’s annual defense of those Mexican Titles. Seriously, though, Pirata loses in a tag team match as part of a tag team tournament not 90 minutes before, and is demanding a shot another tag belt? Couldn’t they have had Chicana in the team? (I guess not if Fuerza’s meant to win it.)

Josh Raymond is US midwest indy wrestler Josh Abercrombie – Josh Raymond is the name he uses in MTV’s WSX promotion, and he and Nate Webb were working as their Trailer Park Boys gimmick from that group. (This opens the door to Vampiro/WSX/AAA speculation – though it’s equally likely Banderas or someone else recommended them.) I’m not sure there was an actual finish in that match – Psicosis had Bufalo beat, Head Hunter I and the Dark Family ran in, and chaos broke out. Psicosis ended up laying out Bufalo, and he might be done for the time being.

Gonna have to make a list of everyone who’s ever been in this Foreign Legion at some point. It’s a small army by now.

UPDATED STANDINGS (chart)
P M
12 4 Super Fly & Rey Cometa/Pegasso*
12 4 Crazy Boy & Joe Lider
12 4 Cuervo & Ozz
9 4 Alan Stone & Zumbido*
3 2 Antifaz & Histeria
3 3 Alebrije & El Brazo
3 3 Charly Manson & Pirata Morgan
3 3 Chris Stone & Hator
3 3 Mascara Divina & Oriental
3 3 El Angel, Laredo Kid
3 3 Alliens, Gran Apache
3 3 Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis II
3 4 Espiritu & Scoria*
3 4 May Flowers, Pimpinela Escarlata
3 4 Alan & Decnis*
0 1 El Elegido & Intocable

AAA’s recap notes that Cuervo & Ozz have 12 points, so either they’ve actually been keeping count, or they’ve been looking here. I endorse either options. SADLY, they also say “only the Mexican Powers also have that number” – maybe we’re meant to count the modified Fuerza Aerea team as two different ones? That ain’t happening.

You know, if AAA doesn’t know that Pegasso & Super Fly have 12 points, that probably means they’re still unaware they’ve repeated a match. On the other hand, if it was just a web guy typo, they ought to have Alan & Zumbido win at the next way taping just to force the 4 way tie at 12, and end it there (unbalanced and all), and run a 4 way to decide it. I’d be fine with that.

Next: 03/03, 03/10, and I still don’t have any confirmation on the Rey de Reyes lineup.

09/17: Title Change, AAA, Accion

(As mentioned by Alexis before – gracias!)

Averno is your new CMLL World Middleweight Champion, beating Negro Casas tonight. I’m shocked and pleased. This means the (arguably) best current tag team in Mexico has two singles titles; Mephisto is still the CMLL Welterweight Champion. (You gotta figure they’re going to do a Negro/Mistico vs Averno/Mephisto match soon.)

The Anniversary card is also due out tomorrow. Tomorrow’s going to be interesting.

VdE is finishing up right now:

AAA TV (SUN) 09/17 El Toreo de Cuatro Caminos Results [Yosoyelkiss]
1) Laredo Kid b Kaoma Jr. and El Apache [dream, toreno, final]
2) Cinthia Moreno, El Elegido, Mascara Sagrada, Pimpinela b La Diabolica, Mini Abismo Negro, Pirata Morgan, Polvo de Estrellas
3) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera, Psicosis II b Chessman, Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz [sf]
Joe Lider was carried out after a move gone wrong. Shocking.
4) AJ Styles, Homicide, Low-Ki, Samoa Joe DQ Abismo Negro, Charly Manson, Electroshock, Histeria [sf]
Charly Manson is either a permanent new Viper, or the biggest name they forget to put on the card and taking up the first empty space. Whichever, his team still lost when Abismo Negro used a martiente on Homicide. Given Homicide’s close friendship with Konnan, I expected a better profile debut for him here.
5) Cinthia Moreno, Estrellita b Tiana Ringer, Traci Brooks
The woman isn’t supposed to be a mystery, but I’m completely blanking on the women who was supposed to replace Christy Hemme; I’d assume she was here as she was supposed to be, though I’m not sure anyone would know the difference.; Update: Thank you to Tiger Driver for allowing me to sleep tonight. Tiffany was supposed to be here, and I didn’t read a reason why she wasn’t. Mexican women won (as they really should), but Chessman kidnapped Estrellita post match. Cibernetico was taken out near the start of the show, so he couldn’t make the save here. Chessman (and not Muerte) grabbing Estrellita doesn’t seem to make any sense, so it could’ve been a mistaken report, or it could’ve just been AAA booking.
6) Alan Stone, Hator, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido b Intocable, Oriental, Super Porky, Zorro
KrisZ reported Porky was in a car accident earlier this weekend, but he did end up making this match. Hator replaced Shocker, and who knows if that is a permanent deal. Zumbido did show, as did a mystery masked man who attacked Intocable. I guess he’s getting a new feud.
7) AJ Styles, Low-Ki, Samoa Joe b Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventued Guerrera [final]
I guess Homicide was out of this match selling the martiente, but I’m not sure why Psicsois wasn’t wrestling instead of Joe Lider, if Joe Lider got carted out before. Tons of run ins and TNA guys won. If you are a ROH fan marking out about seeing those three names together, you do not actually want this tape. (I can only imagine the things the Mexican trio tried in order to get in good with the US guys.) People were leaving after this match.
8) Gronda II, La Parka Jr., Octagon ?? Abyss, Jeff Jarrett, Konnan
Gronda was the ‘surprise’, which caused the recapper to leave. I’ll try to find a finish tomorrow, as well as any other missing details.

Accion

CMLL: Atlantis vs Mistico. Mistico’s Mexico themed outfit looks good, and both of this dives here. Nice camera angle on Atlantis’ tope. Atlantis actually got the visual victory, having Mistico in the Atlantida while Warrior was talking to the ref for god knows what reason. The finishing sequence did not look particularly good – it was an up and over sunset flip which never got over, and they had to improvise..

AAA: La Parka Jr., Octagon, Intocable vs Muerte Cibernetica, Chessman, Charly Manson in Hidalgo. Storyline here were La Parka/Muerte feuding, Charly/Intocable feuding, and La Parka reversing a whip on Muerte, which led Muerte to get accidentally chair shot by Chessman. That’s not going to help! MUERTE CIBERNETICA CAN SELL A STUNNER! Obviously, it’s just a Mexican thing. Pierroth was right about Puerto Rico all along!

There are scattered notes about the RXLL show on the box y lucha board. Sounds like the same basic show, but attendances was down (they moved people in from the cheap seats), with Vampiro and Nosawa doing the hardcore main event. Teddy Hart appeared, but did not wrestle.
