possible Perros del Mal Debut Show Lineup (and related news)

In today’s Ovaciones, Perro Aguayo Jr. announces his promotion will debut on 12/07 in Sala de Arams de Ciudad Deportiva. This makes me inclined to trust dr_landru’s post on el Martiente, where he posts a lineup announced for that date:

PERRO (SUN) 12/07 Sala de Armas de Ciudad Deportiva
1) Juventud Guerrera & Super Crazy vs Damián 666 & Mr. Águila
2) Cibernetico, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, LA Park vs Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Latin Lover

Not only do we have Cibernetico involved – Cibernetico appeared on La Oreja to confirm his involvement in his group – and blame Konnan and Vampiro for ruining AAA to the point where he felt he had to leave – but Dos is interesting too. There’s no CMLL involvement here, but Wagner and Park are here because they’re independent. Is Dos an independent guy? You think that would’ve come out with the never ending contract stuff, but it sure would explain why he’s on the main event no-program treadmill. No other CMLL wrestlers are involved; I don’t know if that confirms anything about a bad breakup, because that was the idea all along.

With that main event, this show is selling out. This is a building where AAA tapes TV, so it should be a pretty decent crowd.

Future shows announced (from the same post)
12/15: Toluca
12/16: Monterrey
12/17: Rodeo Santa Fe
12/18: Ecatepec

That’s a pretty ambitious schedule, running four straight shows right away. There’s no telling who will work those shows.

And past that? The other story from La Oreja was Santo and Perro Jr. challenging each other. The end result was a teased Perro Jr. vs El Hijo del Santo mask vs hair match as the main event of the Santo Sr. memorial show next Feb 5. This isn’t the first time this week they’ve done that tease; it’s the cover of Luchas 2000 #446. I think the match is realistic possibility, but we’ll know a lot more about it’s chances after Perro’s promotion starts and we see how well it does..

03/20: Puebla, Neza, Nuevo Leon, Reynosa

Angel Azteca stories: Notimex, El Siglo de Torreon, La Jornada. Yucatan has photos from his last match. Ovaciones has a note as well.

CMLL (MON) 03/19 Arena Puebla [hugo999 @ box y lucha]
1) Forajido & King Jaguar b Ares & Mr. Rafaga
2) Asturiano, Centella de Oro, the Tiger b Fuerza Chicana, Karissma, Toro Bill Jr.
3) Cerebro Negro, Maniacop, Skandalo b Batman, Leono, Tony Rivera
4) Dos Caras Jr., Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr. b Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila
5) Alex Koslov, Heavy Metal, Rey Bucanero DQ Mascara Ano 2000, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero

Metal replaced Shocker.

CMLL (SUN) 03/18 Arena Neza [La Porra Ruda de Neza]
1) Cosmotron & Stella b Ambar & Boazz
2) Buho I & Buho II DQ Black Danger & Black Heart
3) Angel Negro & Nopton b Chico Che & Seiya
4) Chac-Mol, Leono, Rayo Tapatio ii DQ Emilio Charles Jr., Skandalo, Terrible
5) Black Warrior, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero b Felino, Rayo Tapatio I, Tony Rivera

Chico Che had a neck injury in his match. I’ve finally figured out which one is Black Danger and which one is Black Heart. (The key? A labeled picture. Though I guess I could’ve looked at the “BD” on the boots.) No Ramstein?

CMLL (SUN) 03/18 Gimnasio Nuevo Leon [Mas_Solitario @ el martiente]
1) Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween b Mini Olímpico & Último Dragoncito
2) Hiroka & Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel & Lady Apache
3) Tigre Universitario b Diluvio Negro I, La Sombra, Diluvio Negro II
4) Shocker & Silver King b Angel Blanco Jr. & Sangre Azteca
5) Héctor Garza b Super Parka [hair]

The tercera was for some vacant title, which Tigre immediatly revacated because of the screwiness of the win. That sure meant a lot.

indy (SAT) 03/17 Palenque de la Feria, Reynosa
1) Chamaco Ortiz & Rocker Boy b Black Star & Misterio Negro
2) Mascarita Sagrada b Mini Pierroth
3) Corazon de Barrio & Misterioso II b Maniaco & Pentagon Black
4) El Hijo del Santo, Psicodelico Jr., Rayman b Angel Blanco Jr., Hator, Super Parka
5) Mil Mascaras b Venom [mask]

Shocker, Garza, Mascara Ano 2000, and Universo 2000 were pulled from the semimain because of Santo’s involvement. Not sure how people ended up working the undercard. The promoter explained the situation before the show, and Santo backed him up before his match. Venom, in this case, is Javier Sandoval of Yuma, a local wrestler.

Super Luchas #204 has Santo/CMLL
Box Y Lucha #2810 has Parka with a sword and a a Misterio (also Santo and Azteca.)
El Herlado de Tabasco has notes from a radio interview with El Hijo Del Santo. Nothing about CMLL; this must’ve been the one right before the split was announced, because it includes him noting there’s been Misticos, Octagons, Vampiros, and Super Munecos, but none of them have the long lasting star power he does, and he’s said it before. The interview is mostly about the marine ecological work he’s doing. La Frontera talks about much the same.
La Presna has a recap of Rey de Reyes. Not many new details; the titular match was the meain event, and the order of elimination of the tag match went Guapos, Fuerza Aerea, and Mexican Powers.
They also have an interview with Rey about going into the HOF.
El Occidental has a bio of Perro Aguayo.

Perro Aguayo Jr. wants to make a documentary of Perro Aguayo. (ovaciones)

CMLL (MON) 03/12 Arena Puebla [hugo999]
1) Blue Center & Super Star b Mafia & Mr. Rafaga
2) Centella de Oro, SWAT, the Tiger DQ Ares, Fuerza Chicana, Siki Osama
3) Fabian el Gitano, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Arkangel, Cerebro Negro, Kraken
4) Felino, Heavy Metal, Valiente b Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila
5) Dos Caras Jr., Lizmark Jr., Marco Corelone DQ Olimpico, Terrible, Universo 2000

Valiente filled in for Ogun in the semifinal. Terrible replaced Black Warrior in the main event.

CMLL (TUE) 03/13 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II b Artillero & Super Comando
2) Amapola, La Nazi, Rosa Negra b India Sioux, Lady Apache, Marcela
3) Goto, Ohara, Okumura b Brillante, Valiente, Virus
4) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila b Felino, La Mascara, Maximo
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero

Someone liked the idea of outside teammate help to win tonight – it happened in the women’s match (Amapola pinning Apache with some help from La Nazi) and it happened in the main event (Averno getting the win with help from Mephisto.)

IWRG (SUN) 03/11 Arena Naucalpan
1) Aguila Oriental b Sasaki
2) Macho II & Vampiro Metálico b Antaris & Ave Fenix
3) Trauma I, Trauma II, Vampiro Metalico b Kai, Kid Tiger, Yamato
4) Bestia Salvaje, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Pierroth Jr. b El Dandy, Esfinge, Suicida
5) Cerebro Negro DQ Black Terry [hair]

Pierroth Jr. interfered in the main event, costing fellow rudo Black Terry his hair. That’s gotta suck. Bestia fouled Dandy to pick up the win in the semifinal. Bestia wants a title match, Dandy wants a hair match. Traumas cheated to beat Kid Tiger in the tercera.

indy (TUE) 03/13 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [rfc]
0) Mascara Negra & Mr. Cuervo b Black Thunder & Reggaeton
1) Borrico b Angel Negro
2) Hollywood b Black Nazi
3) Golden Boy b Ejecutor
4) Humberto Garza Jr. b Al Barone
5) Hijo de Anibal & Konan Big DQ Hijo del Solitario & Pancho Tequila

Anibal faked a foul from Solitario.

indy (SUN) 03/18 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [rfc]
1) Borrico & Tequilita vs Burrito & Mini Burrito
2) La Bella & La Bestia vs La Bandida & Loco Tormenta
3) Angel Negro, Hollywood, Silver Star vs Al Barone, Black Nazi, La Sombra
4) Nygma, Picudo, Silver Cat vs Black Dragon, Huracan Ramirez Jr., Ultraman Jr.
5) Axel vs Hijo de Espanto [FILL MIDDLE]
6) Konnan Big, Laro, Pancho Tequilla vs Casanova, Golden Boy, Humberto Garza Jr.

Konnan Big appears to be calling himself Super Konnan now. Hijo de Esapnto was the champ before Axxel (and before he and Konnan Big passed it back and forth), so this is his rematch for the belt.

indy (THU) 03/15 Deportivo Lee Roy
1) Sepultura & Shuriken vs Black Bull & Terrorista
2) Dark Saint & Rey Tempestad vs Chakor & Vengador
3) Cirucs & Payasito vs Latino Jr. & Muerte Negra
4) Arana Cibernetica & Arana del Futuro vs Rey Halcon & Vaquero Salazar
5) Centella Azul Jr. & Junior Halcon vs Moro Jr. & Psycho

SIGMA (SUN) 03/18 Coliseo Laguna
1) Barrio Boy & Scriba Jr. vs Baby Maravilla & King Azteca
2) Violencia I & Violencia II vs Montana I & Montana II
3) Guerrero Inca & Mini Star vs Angel de Oro & Fuego
4) Psycho & Scriba vs Indio Chirikawa II & Tackle
5) Black Jet, Diabolico I, Kain vs Dimante Negro, Indomable, Spiderman

JUNIORS (SUN) 03/18 Arena Coliseo San Luis Potosi
1) Gronda XXX & Super Tri vs Halcon Dorado Jr. & Ice Killer
2) Breack Demon vs Mensajero, Fleachdor Justiciero, Pantera Silva, Creazy Star, Bat Boy, Tigre del Ring, Coyote Azul [trofeo Arena Coliseo 2007]
3) Coyote Azul Jr. & Lagarto vs Asesino Maldito & Tromba

This sounds like a new promotion taking over the building, though I thought people were promoting with the JUNIORS name in SLP already. Maybe that’s some place else.

Santo wants to open Santo stores in Tokyo and LA in 2007. He tells the story of negotating the contract with Cartoon Network – he wore his mask, and he asked if they had negotated in person with the Powerpuff Girls. Santo notes that he’s different.

EHUI writes about a show that’ll have lucha libre and kickboxing matches.

Zocalo writes about a Monclova female wrestler named Lilit. There are no other local women wrestlers, so she’s wrestling with the men.

New magazine Lucha Libre had Huracan Ramirez on issue #1 and Ultimo Guerrero on #2.

While in India to hype WWE shows, it looks like Rey Mysterio outsourced his gimmick. (Thanks to mikeinformer).

Ask A Mexican explains lucha masks:

My theory? Masks are cool. As great as El Santo — Mexico’s most famous wrestler — was in the ring, he became an icon mostly because of a luminous silver mask that accompanied him through dozens of films and even into the afterlife. Masks allow wearers to bend societal norms and participate in activities that proper Mexicans would frown upon, like lucha libre or hatching a revolution in the Chiapan jungles. Without those masks, the wearer is just another Mexican — and who wants to be that?

KrisZ’s AAA results get their own post in a bit.

ESTO
– the Notimex one hasn’t turned up yet
– Ovaciones has one as well.

There’s not much new about Perro vs Mistico at this point. Marco is looking for a title shot against Universo still.

The hope is we find out a bit more about what’s going on with Mistico. We do know he made it to his tryout, before the WWE show. Mistico worked with Dean Malenko, and got postive reviews. Dave Meltzer, on Figure Four Daily, belived that even if Mistico signed, he wouldn’t start soon, and he wouldn’t appear on WWE TV for longer – they’d have him working off TV for a while, or even in one of their developmental groups. It was Meltzer’s guess that Mistico would go, but that was based on no inside information, just the idea of a 25 year old kid being wowed by a big crowd and better treatment than he’s getting in WWE.

If Perro/Mistico is blown off tonight, then I think he’s going. But since he doesn’t have to go right this second, they could continue out this feud to the 03/23 show even if he was going, so I think it’s much more likely that this reminds unclear for a bit while.

AAA tapes tomorrow.

ESTO also has an interview with Universo 2000. Universo has no plans to retire – he makes it a rule not to plan anything more than two months into the future – because people who retire seem to keep wrestling anyway.

Felino, Blue Panther, and Dos Caras Jr. spoke at a school children about the dangers of drugs. There’s no follow up comment I can make here that will not eventually get me killed, so let’s move on. Ovaciones has a short blurb about Rey and Atlantis talking to people about TB as well.

Quinta Estacion explains why they wanted Mistico in a video – lucha fans don’t normally listen to much Pop music, so they thought if they partnered with the top lucha libre star, they’d get attention from a whole new market. (And I’m sure Mistico and/or his people were thinking the same thing the other way.)

El Martiente’s wrestler of the month is Dark Angel

02/09: Mexico

CMLL (FRI) 02/09 Arena Mexico Results [ova, superluchas]
1) Molotov, Sombra de Plata b Carrona, Cobalto
2) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela b Amapola, Medusa, Princesa Sugieth
3) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Blue Panther, Lizmark Jr., Satanico
4) Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila, Terrible b Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero
5) Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero b Black Warrior, LA Park, Marco Corelone

Shocker is MIA again, replaced by Dos. Rudos got DQed in the first fall for either excessive violence or Warrior hitting a ref (which is kinda excessive violence). In the second fall, Universo showed up to get Corelone. Park and Warrior cut him off, but it still allowed Dos to get Marco with a German suplex, and Rey beat Warrior to win the match in two falls.

Perro challenged for another trios shot after their win, and it sounds like they’ll be getting it, just not yet.

CMLL lineups are up for next week.

5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero, Dos Caras Jr. vs Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Olimpico

Mogur’s facing Virus and Leono on both scheduled appearances, so it’s got be a feud with one of them. Probably Leono.

No AAA results yet.
