***Guerra de Titanes, 2012***
1) Cuervo, Fabi Apache, Mascarita Dorada, Pimpinela Escarlata b Halloween, Mari Apache, Mini Charly Manson, Yuriko
Tecnicos won because of Gran Apache interference – he tried to hit Cuervo with a chair and got Halloween instead. Halloween and Apache hugged after the match.
2) Daga b Juventud Guerrera, Fénix, Joe Lider, Psicosis, Jack Evans [AAA CRUISER, Ladder]
16’17”. Juventud Guerrera is the champ. No Teddy, no TNA wrestler, and Juvi left early after taking a blow from a Lider ladder. Daga beat Fenix for the title. Fenix appeared to be hurt after the match.
3) La Parka, Octagón, Octagon Jr. b Parka Negra, Pentagon Jr., Silver King
18’53”, Parka Negra and Pentagon Jr. were Silver King’s surprise partners, introduced by Dorian and Konnan. Octagon pinned Silver King get the pinfall.
4) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown b Devil Rocker, Machine Rocker, Soul Rocker
13:13. Rockers took their first loss. Uro attacked Murder again after the match and the Clowns were beaten up despite the loss.
5) Texano Jr. b El Mesías [AAA HEAVY]
29:12. Mesias is champion. Fenix was scheduled to be his second, but Octagon Jr. replaced him. Silver King was Texano’s second. Both bled and there was at least one ref bump and one time Silver pulled the ref out to stop the count, but Texano Jr. won the match and the title with a sit down powerbomb cleanly.
6) Vampiro L Cibernético, Dr. Wagner Jr., LA Park, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Chessman [cage, hair]
30:29. Order of escape went LA Park (attacked by Jeff & Karen Jarrett, who also took his mask), Dr. Wagner, Cibernetico (attacked by the Bizarros – Cuervo tried to save and failed, Fabi helped later), and Perro Aguayo Jr. Chessman and Vampiro went for a long while before Chessman escaped due to help from Konnan, Dorian and a fire extinguisher. Konnan, with the winning rudos, announced they would repeat 1996 and leave with the best guys to a new promotion. Joaquin Roldan told Konnan his contract expires next year (???) and he’d be free to go then. Joaquin had the AAA guys run off La Sociedad to prove they weren’t all that much.

Air Date: 12/15 & 12/22

(Live coverage is here)

AAA has done Invasion/opposing promotions storylines since it’s first year, when the opposing promotion was UWA. It’s been near constant since, from PROLLM to Promo Azteca to LLL to whatever Konnan’s calling his group this week. Some of them have actually run their own shows. (Some of them still are – I’m not sure what ‘we should leave AAA and run our own promotion’ actually means to the Perros del Mal.) It’s unclear from the official recap – the only one that mentions Konnan’s contract running out – if the deal ends at midnight on 12/31, or just ‘sometime in the new year’.

It’s not yet clear where this is going. It does occur to me that the debut of a new off shoot promotion starring Konnan is as about as good a place for Konnan to return to the ring as any time.

[tweet https://twitter.com/vampiro_vampiro/status/275468005381644288/]

Vamprio got some hair cut in the cage, some more cut backstage, and ended up with a bit left. I’m thinking that if Vampiro had just gotten his head shaved, it’d take him maybe a couple weeks to get that spiffy new hair do back. (It works for him.) Instead, he and AAA are didn’t deliver on their main event just because they could. Not the first time this has happened – Fabi Apache was the last memorable one – but AAA is caught between wanting to put it’s stars in big apuesta matches to draw fans and their wrestlers not actually wanting to pay the price for that loss.

(Also, if he has a brain tumor like he said this morning, he probably should not be worried about keeping any of his hair.)

(Also, for all our complaining, it does look like Chessman won the feud. A gift win by the sound of it, but you take what you can get when you are the Chessman. Nice of Jarrett and Chessman to get past Chessman’s problems with Abyss and be friends by the end of the show too.)

There’s a compelling case that putting a whole bunch of people in a cage match – a bit we all (AAA included) have mocked CMLL before – is not actually a good way to draw people. SuperLuchas calculated 7,000 people in attendance early in night. It does not come across that full in the photos. This website lists the capacity of the building as 13,000. It includes seats on the floor, though that’s for a concert performance and not something with a big ring in the middle. I would’ve guessed 4,000 people, but I’ve never done the work to see how close my guesses are to reality. The last major show here, Guerra de Titans 2010, was reported as 6,000 people in the WON. That show ran against Rayo de Jalisco and Universo 20000 returning to Arena Coliseo Guadalajara.

Juvi’s injury was to his shoulder, the same shoulder which had kept him out of the ring until now. Fenix’s injury is unclear, but looks like maybe shoulder and neck based on the pictures. (How No other injuries were mentioned. Texano and Mesias bled a lot in their match.

Rockers/Clowns was said to be least match of the night, while Texano/Mesias was said to be the best. Compliments to the ladder match as well. Vampiro and Chessman went 16 minutes by themselves to end the cage match, more than half the length of the match, which sounds way too much for both of them. Some of that is Chessman climbing and missing a moonsault (because he’s Chessman and he must fall off high objects.)

Dorian Roldan went out of his way to note Super Fly is NOT Pentagon Jr. – which makes sense, Super Fly let everyone down and got kicked out of La Sociedad, why would Dorian want him back? I posted a link to Facebook of Mortiz being mentioned as Parka Negra. I’m not sure that’s actually true, but it gives us something to look for when the show airs.

AAA has just 1 main TV in about the next six weeks, a 12/21 show in Acapulco. The period after Guerra de Titanes thru February is normally AAA’s slowest period of the year as far as shows and development, and they usually won’t start building Rey de Reyes until they’re a month out. There should still be Fusion tapings during this stretch – the next one might be announced this week.

Blue Demon (and not Rayo) in Monterrey, AULL, Team Charly, Sombra/Volador, Magnus, El Luchador, Juvi, Reyes del Aire

LyC (SUN) 10/07/2012 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [LuchaMania Monterrey]
1) Chamaco Gurrola & Dark Fenix DQ Caballo Dorado & Extreme Boy
Dark Fenix took of his mask and tossed it to Caballo Dorado to draw the DQ.
2) El Dorado & Misionero b Dark Fenix & Gabanelli
Dark Fenix worked twice.
3) Hijo Del Mongol Chino & Mongol Chino Jr. b Gemelo Muerte I & Gemelo Muerte II and Bengali & Rey Apóstol
Rey Apostol replaced Bengali.
4) Arabe TLDRAW Galactar
15 minute draw
5) Monje Negro & Potro b Hijo de Kato Kung Lee & Humberto Garza
Canek Jr., Fishman Jr, and Kung Fu Jr. wrestled in Arena Pavillon del Norte instead, so this match was totally changed around (Canek/Fishman/Kato/Kung vs Difunto/Monje/Potro/Tigre) to a LUM vs ACM match. LUM team had Monjita and Hombre de Negro with them, and got away with fouls to win. Kato was said to be poor.
6) Blue Demon Jr. & Rico Rodriguez b Máscara Púrpura & Mongol Chino
Rayo de Jalisco Jr. did not show. Promoters – Roberto Figueroa & Aldo Farias – came to the ring to show the copies of flight itinerary and the deposit they put in Rayo’s bank account, putting the blame on Rayo for not showing. (They also mentioned Rayo Jr.’s real name.) Blue Demon criticized Rayo for not appearing, called him scared, and promised a match that would make the fans happy. Reviews say he delivered. Demon pinned Purpura for the win. Money thrown in the ring.

This show should air on Noches de Coliseo this upcoming weekend (and it’ll be here next Tuesday.) Since it’s the same people producing the TV show as who put on the show, I would expect the Rayo stuff will likely air.

AULL (SUN) 10/07/2012 Arena Lopez Mateos [Estrellas del Ring]
1) Aero Kid, Skull Clown, Yune b Black Storm, Sangre De Lobo, Sentencia
2) Lunatico, Olimpus, Rey Flecha b Arafath, Dement Extreme, Zargon
3) Dragosth, Gargola, Golden b Dark Misterio, Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II
4) Hombre sin Rostro, Leviatham, Samael, Tormento b Judas el Traidor, Kilvan, Rey Krimen, Ronny Ventura
Kilvan and Hombre sin Rostro didn’t want to fight each, then only fought with respect, annoying their rudo partners. Los Bastardos won with powerbombs on Kilvan and Ronny and a Tormento top rope splash. Rostro kept the other two wrestlers (Judas & Kilvan) outside, and they hinted he was joining the Bastardos now.
5) Epitafio, Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II b Chucho el Roto, Iron Love, Mr. Potro, Rocky Santana
Los Aliados (Iron Love, Chucho, Potro and Santana) fell apart with Rocky accidentally kicking Iron Love when breaking up a hold, Chucho sticking up for Iron Love but kicking Mr. Potro, and Negro & Trauma II taking advantage for pins. Sets up Roto/Love vs Potro/Rocky, possible for the tag titles.

[tweet https://twitter.com/terceracaida/status/255472293688524801]

It’s a one hour show, so they’ll have at least two weeks of shows (and need to tape again in a week or two.) No menti0n of which matches from the taping will air. I will guess minis and semimain. TVC Deportes has been putting up IWRG and Tercera Caida on YouTube of late, here’s hoping this shows up as well.

CMLL has a more interesting then usual Tuesday show. It’s not loaded with star power or sure great matches, and there’s no sense it’ll draw any better than usual, but it has a lot of stuff worth talking about. The odd main event are Invasors Kraneo, Olimpico and Psicosis vs Delta, Guerrero Maya and Shocker. As CMLL points out today, the tecnico trio was originally Team Charly in 2011’s Forjando un Idolo. Shocker was Maya and Delta’s mentor, doing a find job of looking interesting during matches. Shocker was supposed to team with the youngsters in the trios portion of the tournament, could not due to his knee injury, and was replaced due to Atlantis. Delta & Maya stuck with Atlantis after Shocker got cleared to return, which caused Shocker to debut Titan & Triton as his own youngsters for a feud that was quickly aborted due to issues with Shocker. (CMLL mentioned all of this, except why the feud didn’t go anywhere.) Throw in how Atlantis turned tecnico in the process of his new trio, and that’s about half of CMLL’s plotlines from the second half of last year, just because they were randomly assigned together. After all that drama, this is the first time they’ve all actually teamed up.

The big undercard match is a lightning match between Sombra and Volador. Those two have always been great against each other, and it seems unfair (to us!) to limit them to only 10 minutes. I’m actually rooting for the time limit draw here. CMLL’s not been airing the lightning matches on Tuesday, so this is a treat only for those who at the show. The rest of us might luck out later…

The show also has Magnus’ return to CMLL. It’s probably set up by the second season of el Luchador, which has finished taping but won’t start airing until next week.  Magnus had his flaws in the ring – I should track down the gif of when tried to shooting star press Guerrero Maya (I should remember which things he actually did) – but most of the crowd’s actual anger towards him was because he was obviously trying to be Mistico while he and the promotion were playing dumb about it. A year later, CMLL has it’s official Mistico replacement and has plenty of other fake replacement characters to draw that fire. Magnus can come back and play segunda Sin Cara all he wants, because the fans can’t be angry at everyone. He may get booed, but he’s not going to get booed any more than Hombre Bala and Super Halcon. (Also, I think Magnus may be in on the joke now; CMLL never does parody but the Twitter build to his return feels like one.)

Kaiser Sports has a big interview with Magnus about his return; as expected, he feels Dragon Lee stole his spot when he was gone (attributed both to firing at the end of El Luchador and the shoulder injury suffered in the tag match against Tiger) and is coming back for revenge. He’s amenable to being a rudo or a tecnico, he just wants to get Dragon Lee and Tiger. Magnus talks about wrestling in the US for a few months during his absence; he’s mentioned it before, but I don’t recall hearing about when it happened. Magnus explains he had all sorts of disadvantage – didn’t speak English well, US wrestling is slower and more robotic, and he was discriminated against -but he shut everyone’s mouths when he got to the ring. He’ll be looking to do the same thing today. He says he’s more relaxed now, not concerned if he’s booed or cheered.

Getting back to el Luchador, their website has plot descriptions for every episode. You’ll want to skip this paragraph if you don’t want spoilers. Shocker has a kid on the way, Felino has parenting and spouse issues, Rey Bucanero has the same, and Dragon Lee’s arc is based around En Busca de un Idolo. Two different shows for that, and for #porraTitan. One plot hinted at, but given away in a preview: Estrellita and Puma King are a couple. It reads like Magnus turns up by episode 5, the Felino/Puma/Tiger match we figured was for el Luchador is a part of episode 6, and Blanca particpating in the cage match is a source of tension with Felino by episode 7 which leads to talk of them separating in the last few episodes. Shocker’s final episodes are about his inability to commit and his feud with Mr. Niebla. Wonder if we might see that come back in the ring in December. Dragon Lee becoming Mistico happens in the final epsiode, and there’s not much said about the Busca tournament after his match with Puma King. There’s not a lot of Bucanero mentions in the second half of the season.

This isn’t part of the El Luchador actual show, but I like this commercial. Mr. Niebla and Zacarias in real life clip might explain those couple weeks where Peste Negra were angry with Mr. Niebla. This highlight reel of cranky Tony Salazar is also good.

AAA updated Juvi’s status. He was hurt in Copa Pena on Sunday, and the diagnosis is a second degree dislocated collarbone. I went looking to see what that meant, and the first good link I found amusingly illustrates the injury with a photo from a NOAH match. Juvi probably hurt it exactly as pictured! Second degree usually means rest for a week or two but no surgery. AAA announced Friday’s AAA TV taping, exactly as previously mentioned. Juvi’s not on that or any other card I have for next week, so he may not miss all that much (except painfree downtime.)

R de Rudo looks at the CMLL vs AAA War on the Internet. This is where I point out I get so much more out of the CMLL Twitter than the AAA one and even the people who run Twitter say judging accounts solely by the follower number is dumb. Also, anyone who RTs every positive message they get on Twitter with a two word tacked on reply – AAA’s Twitter go to move! – should be poked in the eye. You can pick which eye, I’m flexible, just stop being so annoying.

CMLL actually has a way to make money off their page (directing people to Ticketmaster.) If AAA doesn’t have one in their 3rd redesign of the year, then I don’t know why they bother. Both should do 100X more in that area then they do, but I’ve yelled about that so much times.

I also don’t know why AAA’s teasing a redesign. Just put it up when it’s ready. The only people who care about redesigns themselves are the web designers, everyone else just wants the content. You’re making a big deal about your plates, people just want to eat the food. In the meantime, if you’re a fan of AAA and want to know what happened at Heroes Inmortales or when this new TV show is airing, you’re not going to be able to find a silly clock on their website and you’re going to go off and do something probably not AAA related.

Lucha Libre in Japan

NJPW officially announced it’s Super Junior Tournament, taking place on it’s tour from 10/21 to 11/04, with a PPV a week later on 11/11. They’d previous put out the poster for the tour, and the teams turned out to be exactly as hinted on the poster. It’s a single elimination tournament, not a league style, with the first round matches taking place on the tour opener. (The rest of the tour is miscellaneous tag matches.) The sole CMLL representative is Negro Casas, who teams with BUSHI (formerly IWRG and AJPW); their team is called Grupo Cibernetico. They’re scheduled to face TAKA Michinoku and Taichi in the first round, but Taichi has been doing a bit on Twitter where he’s threatening only returning to Japan for one show and heading right back to Mexico. To further the bit, Taichi and his friends suggested Namajague take his place. It’s probably still going to be Taichi. That tag match could go either way.

Lineups

The Amapola/Leon match on Friday has been changed from a lightning match to for Leon’s REINA International Championship. Might still be under 10 minutes. I have no sense of Leon – good, bad, indifferent?

Leono & Senseo also replace Super Halcon & Hombre Bala. Maybe someone can introduce Leon to Leono!

CMLL (SUN) 10/14/2012 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico, Soberano Jr., Tigre Blanco vs Camorra, Inquisidor, Ramstein
2) Fuego, Mr. Cacao, Stuka Jr. vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hijo del Signo, Skándalo
3) Goya Kong, León, Marcela vs La Seductora, Mima Shimoda, Zeuxis
4) Fantasy vs Mercurio [mask]
5) Blue Panther, Marco Corleone, Rush vs Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión, Tama Tonga
6) Volador Jr. vs Diamante Azul

We knew the two big matches previously, but this fills out the rest with CMLL’s co-promotions with NJPW (semimain), REINA (third match) and Cacao (second match.)  Signo may be on Hooligan fill in duty. If they’re setting up Rush vs Tonga, we should know it by the end of this show.

CMLL (SUN) 10/14/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Tapatío vs Relampago Azul
2) El Divino & Indigo vs Demonio Rojo & Sádico
3) Halcón de Plata & Virgo vs Exterminador & Magnum
4) Eros, Esfinge, Infierno vs Espectrum, In Memoriam, Leo [Relevos Increíbles]
5) Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Felino vs Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma

I still don’t know what happened in the Relevos Increibles last week, but it was enough to set up a rematch this week.

CMLL (MON) 10/15/2012 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center & Dinámikoo vs Fuerza Chicana & Saurón
2) Asturiano, Stigma, Super Halcon Jr. vs Bobby Zavala, Espiritu Maligno, Siki Ozama Jr.
3) Astral vs Demus 3:16 [lightning]
4) Dark Angel, Lady Afrodita, León vs Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Blanca
5) Mistico vs Máscara Dorada, Valiente, Triton, La Máscara, Ángel de Oro, Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Niebla Roja, Euforia, Mephisto, Rey Escorpión [Reyes del Aire]
6) La Sombra vs Volador Jr.

Really great looking show. Sombra and Volador had a MOTY here 2 years ago and they’re better now.

Despite the sad absence of a certain headstanding man from Guadalajara, this version of the Reyes del Aire is the most loaded in terms of star power in the history of the competition. Triton and Niebla Roja are the lowest ranked guys here, when they would’ve been in the upper half in most years. Angel de Oro is going for his 3rd straight win in a row, though Mistico is the obvious favorite. Note Euforia & Niebla Roja are forced to team with Rey Escorpion & Dragon Rojo; that won’t end well.

Metal Blanco keeps his title, Diamante broken, Juvi/Super Crazy

CMLL (SUN) 06/26/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Divino & Hierro b Ángel del Mal & In Memoriam
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Apocalipsis & Mortiz
Mortiz was stretchered out after a Rey Trueno powerbomb.
3) Ángel Azteca, Guerrero Maya Jr., Starman b Arkángel de la Muerte, Ráfaga, Skándalo
Guerrero Maya was the big hero for his team.
4) Metal Blanco b Tiger Kid [OCCIDENTE WELTER]
Metal Blanco took falls 1/3 to keep the title.
5) Naito, Terrible, Texano b Hijo del Fantasma, Rush, Toscano
Naito got along with his partners and beat Fantasma.

Tiger is convinced he won the match, is the uncrowned champion, and challenged Metal Blanco to a mask match. There’s no explanation of why Tiger thinks these things, but he wants a rematch in Arena Mexico and then another one here.

CMLL (MON) 06/27/2011 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio]
3) Astral, Bam Bam, Eléctrico b Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pierrothito
4) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Angel de Plata? Diamante b Felino, Pólvora, Rey Escorpion
Felino replaced Misterioso. Not sure what the deal is with Diamante’s replacement – Angel de Oro is listed twice.
5) La Máscara, La Sombra, Rush b Averno, Mephisto, Mr. Niebla
Mascara got Averno with a campana. Another mask vs hair challenge.

Other News

Diamante suffered a fracture of his 3 of his toes and dislocation of another on Friday night, which will leave him out of action for five to six weeks. Toe injuries are pretty rare.

Juvi explains he’s facing Super Crazy because they have unresolved issues over the Mexicools not becoming the biggest faction in all of wrestling. It’s all Super Crazy’s fault, Juvi explains. (Juvi also takes credit for opening doors for Sin Cara & Alberto del Rio being in WWE. I’ve missed Juvi.) Meanwhile, Perros del Mal are talking about taking over Super X.

Arkangel’s 7/17 anniversary show will include an Arkangel tournament (the cibernetico?) and an exhibition by his students. On his blog, Mr. Cacao thanks CMLL for allowing him to return for the trios main event with Arkangel.

CMLL hype for the Dr. X vs Fuego feud mentions Fuego was supposed to be thinking about turning rudo (to continue the team with Polvora.) Hadn’t considered that. Anyway, he’s a tecnico because Dr. X keeps messing with him.

Lineups

indy (SUN) 07/03/2011 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Dangerous & Galactar vs Androide & Rey Sagitario
2) Hijo del Ninja, Humberto Garza Jr., Ninja Jr. vs Neurosis, Sky, the Beast
3) Golden Boy, Rey Demonio, Simbolo vs Angel Dorado Jr., Dralion, Máscara Púrpura

Start of a new era show, so I could be bothered to suss out the alignments and post the lineup. I hope this works for them, but I kind of wonder if the problem with this arena is there is no long term continuity of luchadors. There’s vast turnover around ever three weeks, it’s got to be hard to form a connection being gone for three month stretches.

Super X (FRI) 07/15/2011 Arena Azteca Budokan
1) Eterno vs Daga
2) Marcela vs Rossy Moreno [GPCW WOMEN, tournament]
3) Histeria II, Oriental, Zumbido vs ?, Súper Nova, Zumbi
4) Villano IV & Villano V vs Negro Navarro & Solar I
5) Juventud Guerrera vs Super Crazy [NWE CRUISER]

Not sure how the women’s tournament works or if there are any  more matches than that. The GPCW SUPER-X Monster Championship, I’m sure you recall, was part of the initial tournament for the AAA World Heavyweight Championship. Perros del Mal actually showing up would be sort of interesting with the CMLL-allied talent on the show (but then, Super Crazy is already there.)

01/13 AAA TV Results, 01/25 AAA TV lineup

Sure enough, the AAA results are up on their site right when I’ve given up on them for the day.

AAA TV (SAT) 01/13 Plaza de Toros El Pinal Results
1) Nemesis AAA, Pegasso, Super Fly, Terry 2000 b Ángel Mortal, Gallego, Mr. Cóndor, Police Man
2) Gran Apache, Mini Abismo Negro, Rossy Moreno b Billy Boy, Fabi Apache, Mascarita Sagrada
3) Alan, Decnnis b Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis II [AAA TAG, torneo]
4) Escoria, Espiritu b Alan Stone, Zumbido [AAA TAG, torneo]
5) Alberije, El Elegido, Oriental DQ Abismo Negro, Antifaz del Norte, Histeria
6) Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico DQ Intocable, La Parka Jr., Octagón

The account of the main event says La Parka Jr. got suspended for a month of TV for fouling Cibernetico, which doesn’t sound quite right. Especially since the Vipers were DQed for excessive violence, busted Elegido open, and gave the Black Hammer to referee Hijo de Tirantes (sending him to the hospital), and none of them got suspended. They’re pushing the idea that Cibernetico is purposely making La Parka Jr. go crazy so he can have all of AAA to himself, and I don’t know where that’s going.

It reads like Juvi accidently hit his partner leading to their tag loss. You know, if they do the rumored Mexican Powers break, there’s the problem of Juvi still teaming with Psicosis in this tournament till June. Maybe Extreme Tiger can take his place? Maybe Nicho for a double Psicosis tag team!

They’re spelling the AULL Lightweight Champion’s name “Ferry 2000”. Typos are killer.

In addition to the already posted 01/20 lineups (look down a few posts), AAA’s listed the taping after that.

AAA TV (FRI) 01/25 Gimnasio Agustin Millian Lineup
1) Terry 2000, Pegasso, Super Fly vs Sepulturero, Policeman, Toxico
2) Mini Abismo Negro, Jerrito Estrada, Mini Charly Manson vs Mascarita Sagrada, Octagoncito, Mascartia Divina
3) Pimpinela Escarlata & May Flowers vs Joe Lider & Crazy Boy vs Alan & Decnnis vs ??? & ?? [AAA TAG]
4) Alebrije, Elegido, Laredo Kid, Oriental vs Abismo Negro, Histeria, Antifaz, ?
5) Cibernetico, Chessman, Charly Manson vs Cuervo, Scoria, Ozz

How the heck can you can a mystery tag team in this tournament this far along? All I can figure is they’re replacing a team (or they have no idea what they’re doing, sure.)

STANDINGS
P M
6 2 Crazy Boy & Joe Lider *
6 2 Cuervo & Ozz
6 2 Super Fly & Rey Cometa/Pegasso *

As requested, an updated tag tournament block is listed here, for comedy’s sake.

11/21: Puebla, Acapulco

Still no results from the last AAA taping. Still no results from Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show. This is like an evil contest. We don’t know who is the current CMLL Middleweight Champion, but we do know there’s are new Mexican National Atomico Champions, The Mexican Powers won them this past weekend, as pretty much expected. This is Psicois II (the former Leon Negro)’s fifth different reign as champion.

CMLL (MON) 11/20 Arena Puebla Results [hugo999]
1) Super Star, SWAT b Fuerza Tiger, Murcielago
2) Bobby Jack, Espritiu Maligno, Toro Bill Jr. b Centella de Oro, the Tiger, Tigre Rojo
3) Batman, Felino, Tony Rivera b Kraven, Okumura, Skandalo
4) Atlantis, Eclipse, Olimpico, Tarzan Boy b Heavy Metal, Mistico, Negro Casas, Ultimo Dragon
5) Rey Bucanero b Kenzo Suzuki [CMLL LH]

Yea, what I expected. To show you how much weight limits mean, it didn’t even occur to me how Suzuki is completely ineligble for this title until I read Meltzer make an offhand mention, and I’m supposed to be paying attention to these things. Kenzo’s been accompanied by a female Japanese woman in many of his recent matches, and I just assumed it was his wife Hiroka (different person than the Women’s champ), but people who’ve actually seen her say it’s Mima Shimoda, and she does mention accompanying both Kenzo and Hajime Ohara to the ring for on her blog

There was a Fantasma de la Quebrada vs Pirata Morgan hair versus mask match scheduled last Friday in Acapulco. Those who were there say Fantasma de la Quebrada never showed for his match. Fantasma explaining to the local paper that he requested the promoter pay him in advance (as he was going to lose his mask, which was not said), the promoter refused, and Fantasma de la Quebrada decided to retire right then and there. I’m not sure if this was Fantasma de la Quebrada catching a double cross on the payout, or Fantasma de la Quebrada holding up the promoter for more money, but I know the people went home unhappy. They did a Cibernetico vs Pirata Morgan main event instead, but the fans weren’t happy when they realized nothing was on the line.
