DTU, Fiebre Amarilla vs Atlantida, Black Metal defeats caveman for title, Canek

1) Yuta b JhonkyKalibusJorge KebradaKiubyArtikusÁngel del MisterioOsirisAtomic StarMiedo Extremo
Jhonki, Atomic Star replaced Kalibus, Pequeno Cobra, Slayer Pack. Reports differ on if Kiuby or Arana de Plata was the third addition; best guess is Kiuby based on the pictures. Yuta beat Miedo Extremo for the win.
2) Kaleth & Niño Hamburguesa b Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano and Crazy King & Principe Escorpion and Lanzeloth & Rocky Lobo and Araña de Plata & Pequeno Cobra
Locker/Rocker team scheduled for this match moved up one. Arana de Plata & Pequeno Cobra team seems to have replaced them, according to EdR.
3) Carta Brava Jr. I, La Magnifica, Locker b Comando Negro, Keira, Rocker
Match had been listed as three way tag with Arana/Perro Mocho (who seems to have missed all DTU shows), Carta Jr./Comando Negro vs Carta IWL/Cerebro Negro.
4) Epitafio, Judas el Traidor, Samael, Tormento NC Black Fire, Chica Ye-Ye, Demente Extreme, Peligro
Tormento replaced Leviatham, Peligro was the mystery man on the DTU side. Los Porros ran in to attack everyone, then got into an argument with Ciclope.
5) Steve Pain b Fenix (AAA)Príncipe HalcónJinzoOrionSádicoTomahawk T.T.HackerHormiga [#1 Contenders, DTU AI]
Fenix and Steve Pain replaced Septimo Dragon and Poison. Pain beat Fenix for the win, and wins a shot against Flamita at some point.
6) Drastik Boy & Flamita b Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards and Daga & Eterno
switched to the semi main (in before the ring was filled with leftovers from the hardcore match.) Upset win for Flamita & Drastik
7) Aero Boy & Violento Jack b Crazy Boy & Joe Lider and Cíclope & Paranoiko
switched to the main. Besides the usual violence, the LA Park Chair On Fire spot has made it’s way to DTU. Arana de Plata ran into help Ciclope, setting up lamps on the match, but Violento Jack put Ciclope thru them for the win.

It sounds like the fifth match was the best, but there’s not too many notes about the match quality. There’s really nothing said about the sixth match. I maybe have gotten the wrong Carta Brava.

CMLL (SUN) 07/07/2013 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Höruz & Robin b Akuma & Guerrero Negro Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo b Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Soberano Jr.
Soberano replaced Starman. Rudos took 1/3.
3) Tritón b Raziel [lightning]
Triton won with a moonsault tornillo in a good match.
4) Bushiroad, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Boby Zavala, Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos toko 2/3 in a good match. Delta & Maya challenged for a title shot next week, and Okumura & Namajague accepted.
5) Diamante Azul, Shocker, Thunder b Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Vangellys
Tecnicos took 1/3.
6) Ephesto, Mephisto, Volador Jr. b Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente
Rudos took 1/3 in a slightly disappointing match.

Main event seemed to start a Estetas del Aire vs Avernos/Volador feud, similar to Puebla. They’re probably a few weeks away from doing that match.

Next week’s show is in Arena Mexico, according to the announcers at the end of the show. This might have been made clear during the earlier microphone challenges, but the ring microphone wasn’t plugged into the Terra feed from the second match on. There was no sound entirely from midway in the second match until Triton’s post match promo.

CMLL (SUN) 07/07/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Brillante & Capitan (Guadalajara) b Relampago Azul (Guadalajara) & Samael (Guadalajara)
Debut for Capitan. Tecnicos took 2/3.
2) Demonio Maya, El Yaki, Satara b Halcón de Plata, Idolo, Javier Cruz Jr.
Yaki back as a rudo, which makes since with that name. Rudos took 2/3.
3) Acertijo, Jocker, Sádico b El Hippie, Sky Kid, Tony Escobedo
Escobedo’s debut. Rudos took 1/3, Acertijo snuck in a foul on Hippie to set up the rudo win.
4) Black Metal b Bárbaro Cavernario [OCCIDENTE MIDDLE]
Metal took falls 1/3 to win the championship. Barbaro falls on fourth defense. Barbaro demanded a rematch in precisely two weeks.
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Rush b Dragón Rojo Jr., Pólvora, Rey Bucanero
Tecnicos took 2/3.

The title change could be a setup to Barbaro coming to Mexico City. He was good in his three day stint last month. It’s not like Arena Coliseo Guadalajara to care that much about their championships; they didn’t take them off Palacio Negro or Metal Blanco when they knew they were leaving or even when they came back.

Canek was the unadvertised surprise luchador on AAA TV’s taping in Ecatepec. Unclear why they brought in Canek and didn’t advertise him. La Parka worked the AAA TV taping and not the WWL show, while Eita did the opposite. More details about the AAA TV taping, though there’s not that many details to go around.

AAA had a photoshoot with Angelico & Jack Evans and the Reinas del Ring, along with a promo for Sunday’s taping which helps you not at all now. Sorry! Jack Evans yelling “woo” holds up.

The next TxT show appears to be on 07/27. This poster doesn’t make any matches clear except that the usual woman will face each other, and I think you could’ve figured that. It’s a Mexico vs the World Theme, which is pretty much the same as most of the TxT shows this year. Hijo del Santo is on the poster even though he’s said he’s not wrestling on the show.

1) Ares & Centauro de Fuego b Dinámikoo & Tigre Rojo Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, early falls went very quick.
2) Höruz b Cholo [lightning]
Cholo dominated the match, but Horuz pulled it out with an armbar.
3) Asturiano, Metálico, Molotov vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Espiritu Maligno
Tecnicos took 2/3. Molotov submitted Espiritu, Metalico pinned Disturbio.
4) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela b Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany
Tecnicas took 1/3.
5) Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Tama Tonga b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma
Rudos took 2/3. Tonga beat Maya to win in his debut and the best match of the night Maya had to be strechered out. Delta tried to help with that, but Tonga attacked him too.
6) Atlantis, La Máscara, Mistico DQ Averno, Felino, Mephisto
Felino replaced Ephesto. Mascara pinned Averno in the first, then Mephisto pulled Mistico’s mask in the second in a disappointing match. Mistico challenged Mephisto a singles match.

2) Pequeño Warrior b Shockercito and Aereo and Pequeño Halcón and Astral and Último Dragoncito and Fantasy and Demus 3:16 and Pierrothito and Mercurio and Pequeño Olímpico and Pequeño Violencia [Mini Reyes del Aire]
Pequeno Warrior won the match, which set up a cage match next week! Shockercito may have been hurt on a dive.
3) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada b Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush b Averno, Mephisto, Tama Tonga [CMLL TRIOS]
Tama Tonga replaced Ephesto. Love Buffet came in as champs, and took falls 2/3 to keep the titles. Last week’s match was Maximo vs Averno, and this week Maximo kissed and cradled Averno to keep the titles.

Results were from radio station Canal58, which appears to be doing live PBP of Tuesday and Sunday Guadalajara shows. Satanico joined the commentators a couple times.

CMLL (TUE) 10/30/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, CMLL Gaceta]
1) Akuma & Camorra DQ Freesbe & Oro Jr.
Camorra fouled Freesbe
2) Artillero, Hooligan, Súper Comando b Camaleón, Pegasso, Sensei
Camaleon replaced Angel Azteca Jr. Isis was with Hooligan. Rudos took 1/3. Sensei was strechered out with a knee injury and Pegasso was hurting (as usual.)
3) Fuego, Sagrado, Triton b Arkángel de la Muerte, Cancerbero, Raziel
Tecnicos won in straight falls when Arkangel and the Cancerberos turned on each other.
4) Rey Cometa b Sangre Azteca [lightning]
Cometa won with a 450 splash in 8:10.
5) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero b Diamante Azul, Mistico, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, Euforia & Niebla getting the pins while Mistico dove onto Mistico.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Black Warrior, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr. [MEX TRIOS]
Volador, Mr. Aguila, and Black Warrior came in as champs. Delta & Maya took 1, Volador took the second with a backcracker on Atlantis, and Atlantis won the match with an Atlantida on Volador (again!) Reyes del Atlantida are champions as a team for a third time, Atlantis has won the titles three times.

Shocker & Brazo de Plata beat Terrible & Dragon Rojo in Arena Queretaro. In the undercard, Amapola (replacing Tiffany) was beat by local luchador Reyna Azteca in a tag match. The Quereatro wrestler challenged for a title match.

The semi-official Noti AAA Facebook site confirmed Decnnis was leaving AAA, then took down that post, put up another post saying all the rumored people leaving AAA (Tiger, Wagner) were not true. That’s totally not confusing. In the comments of the last post, they say Wagner is joining going back to being an independent who works with AAA. (The difference there is if AAA controls his booking for non TV shows and what cut they need; someone the level of Wagner doesn’t need AAA for that.) As for Extreme Tiger, he’s scheduled to work tonight’s Halloween show in Arena Lopez Mateos, which would be an easy time for him to confirm or deny rumors.

Arena Neza’s Facebook writes Vampiro will miss this weekend’s AAA Fusion taping. Vampiro’s said the same, going on to say he’s busy with another show and AAA never told him he was on this show. Same thing happened last time Vampiro missed a taping. Mesias will take his place, which greatly improves the match. AAA hasn’t acknowledged the change yet.

Quien Pinta Por La Corona held a press conference in Guadalajara for the event there on 11/10 and 11/11. QPPLC also posted profiles of some of the finalists: Rey Maya (nephew of Canek!), Forajido (inspired by Cibernetico and Gronda), Full Back Jr. (snuck off to train with Canek), Demoledor (36 years old), and New Fire Jr.

Samuray del Sol was on Figure Four Daily yesterday (subscriber only) in a really good interview where he talked a lot about his career. His story about being in last year’s QPPLC contest was my favorite part. Samuray never actually signed up for the contest himself, Crazy Boy just invited him to come to Veracruz, then signed Samuray up without him knowing to get Samuray in front of AAA people. Samuray was under the impression the talent contest – at least by the final – was set up for Daga to win, saying AAA officials wanted him specifically to work with Daga since he could do the style Daga likes to do and Daga would look like a star.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Fabi Apache, Sexi Star, Lolita and Jennifer Blake are headed to WAVE for their AAA Reina de Reinas on 11/27. The Japanese promotion had previously announced the show, this is the first time the Mexican promotion has acknowledged it. The article is mostly talking about Fabi Apache’s training and previous time in Japan. WAVE also mentions Pimpinela and Fenix working on the show in a bonus match with CIMA, which hasn’t yet been announced by AAA.

CMLL (FRI) 05/06/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLLRecord (1-2, 5-6)Record (3-4)]

Plata got some Forjando un Idolo redemption by cradling Polvora as he went for a leg lock for the win.
3) FuegoDiamante [Forjando un Idolo, quarterfinal]
Fuego (UG) used a leglock to get the upset over Diamante (Panther, undefeated up till this.)
4) Ángel de OroGuerrero Maya Jr. [Forjando un Idolo, quarterfinal]
Ultimo Guerrero student over a Shocker student. Maya went for a second rope senton, missed, and Oro immediately put him in a campana for the victory.
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, TexanoBlue Panther, Rush, Strong Man
Rudo trio is using the name Fuerza TRT. Rudos avoided Strong Man in the first fall, but he finally got in and cleaned house to set up the tecnico fall. Rudos came back for the less two, all pinning Strong Man in the third after a superbomb.
6) Averno, Negro Casas, Último GuerreroLa Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
Negro Casas replaced Atlantis. Rudos took the first and the third. Mascara had UG in the campana and seemed about to beat him. Meanwhile, Dorada springboarded at Averno (who’s mask was ripped up by Mascara.) Averno fouled him, distracted the ref, yanked Mascara’s mask off, and pinned Dorada as UG pinned Mascara.

Forjando un Idolo matches

La Parka is making official his new group of himself, the Dark Family, and Drago, and calling it “El Inframundo” (the underworld.) Parka explains he’s a dancing skeleton, Ozz, Cuervo, Espiritu are the living dead, and Drago is an immortal dead dragon. (Of course!)

Dorian Roldan was asking followers on Twitter to tell him which TNA wrestlers they’d like to see. Right now, he’s running a Twitter poll until Monday for which women they would like to see and it seemed like Mickie James & Velvet Sky were winning. Mickie James is probably the best idea of the women available (Dark Angel not being an option), though I’m not sure the Dorian’s Twitter follows are close to an accurate representation of AAA’s fans (who mostly aren’t on Twitter) and bringing in women from TNA or who are now in TNA has produced consistently bad matches leaning towards disasters usually met with indifference from the crowd.

Hijo del Fantasma has often been mentioned as luchador who would do better than others in a US promotion, because he speaks conversational English. According to yesterday’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this is now a problem: CMLL has stepped down Fantasma’s push because they fear WWE will eventually snatch him away, so they don’t want to put Fantasma on top and look like they’re losing a top star. (This is exceedingly dumb if true, but it would explain why the Mephisto feud has totally vanished.)

Rush, talking about the trios title match on Ras de Lona, said he didn’t respect anyone. A fine tecnico. In talking about his title win, Valiente said he’d like to defend against rudos or tecnico in Arena Mexico, mentioning Ultimo Guerrero and Sombra, or move to a bigger weight division. Marcela, Amapola and Mima Shimoda are headed to Japan this weekend for the first Reina show.

Tercera should be fun. Ras de Lona had Hector Garza and Volador instead of Felino & Negro Casas, and all of Peste Negra in the main event. Volador hasn’t been on any card since last Sunday.

CMLL (FRI) 05/13/2011 Arena Mexico

3) Arkángel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Skándalo DQ Fuego, Pegasso, Rey Cometa
Dr. X was about to submit to the Fuego-lock, but the ref was distracted, so Dr. X tossed his mask to Fuego to draw the DQ.
4) Guerrero Maya Jr. b Metal Blanco [Forjando un Idolo, eightfinal]
Guerrero Maya advances! He took out Blanco with a double underhook piledriver (which was not called one, of course) and faces Angel de Oro on Friday.
5) Diamante, Metro, Sangre Azteca b Misterioso II, Raziel, Virus
Sangre Azteca beat his old friend Misterioso.
6) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, Mr. Niebla b Black Warrior, Máximo, Super Porky
Atlantis replaced Dragon Rojo, and got the win with a surprise small package on Porky.

CMLL already has video up of the tiebreaker match.

1) In Memoriam COR Javier Cruz Jr.
2) Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno b Evola & León Blanco
Rudo vs Rudo battle ended with Mr. Trueno eliminated but sneaking back in to foul Leon Blanco to set up the victory.
3) Metálico & Starman b Infierno & Malefico
Metalico replaced Maya, off in Arena Mexico.
4) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Magnus b Cancerbero, Loco Max, Pólvora
Loco Max replaced Euforia. As required, recap of Magnus match points out he’s not very good.
5) Mr. Águila, Olímpico, Psicosis b La Sombra, Rush, Toscano
Psicosis beat Rush with some illicit help from Olimpico. Psicosis and Rush agreed to a title match next week.

I would describe Psicosis’ chances of defeating Rush as “microscopic”, but maybe I’m overstating them. Turnout for this show was said to be poor, which is not surprising with the Invasors on top, but doesn’t say much for Sombra or Rush.

Charly Manson was released on bail last night. There’s not much information; Charly’s brother thanks the AAA and Electroshock (who is also Charly’s brother) and says Charly is well. No info about how Charly got bail or if this means the case against him has changed. Charly’s still not publicly explained his side of the story. Charly’s associate seems to have disappeared from this story. It would not be a surprise if Charly just started appearing back on AAA shows while everyone avoided talking about that situation.

Perros del Mal announced a May 29th TV taping in Mexico City with Los Perros vs Psycho Circus, hairs vs masks. AAA’s under the impression that they’re also doing this match sometime this year, which indicates there’s an out ocming. The specific Perros del Mal included are not named, which is probably really important. They also imply it’s one side losing, but it could just be one person. But who? WHO?

Konnan was on Tercera Caida last night. Retro80s90s posted video: part 1, part 2, part 3. A lot of stuff came up that’s come up before (El Hijo del Santo! CMLL & AAA!) but Konnan did drop the news that AAA would be starting a tournament for AAA trios titles. (Dr. Cerebro, Cerbero Negro, Eterno were mentions as IWRG trio participating – that was the IWRG team that one last time AAA taped in Arena Naucalpan.) Depending on how soon this starts, that could be another match for TripleMania. AAA really doesn’t need any titles when they’re about to hit a year since the Cruiserweight title has been defended, but luchadors love title belts.

The annual Mexico City Lucha Libre La Experiencia Expo will be July 23rd and July 24th. Only two days this year (no more Friday.)

Hernandez is listed on a Nuevo Laredo card next week. Might just be for the show.

Pirata Morgan wants a retirement match with Negro Navarro, “not just a retirement speech, but I want Navarro to disappear forever from wrestling.” He also wants the Hijo del Pirata/Trauma I feud to finish.

Cesar begins a list of the Three Biggest Moments of The First Third of 2011 in CMLL with the Gen 2011 vs Opening Match Types, even while noting there was no real story to begin this feud or any explanation why the Gen 2011 guys are all actually teaming up. Since this feud continue to go on past the May Fan Appreciation shows, Cesar notes this feud could be heading to a major show in June (like the midcarder cage match last year, but with a much more focused build.)

Box Y Lucha has a bunch of video interviews: Poseidon, Star Fire (those two are married), Xena, and Piel Roja (same with those two.)

CMLL on Televisa #1025 (04/23/2011)

that's a finish

taped @ Arena Mexico, 04/15/2011

file: here
recap: here

Metal Blanco vs Guerrero Maya Jr.: For two guys who really have been around about the same time, Guerrero Maya is so much more complete wrestler. I think it helps which guys you work with and which guys train you. This was pretty consistent. I’d pay large amounts of money to see Shocker’s notes.

Delta vs Dragon Lee (and part 2): Dragon Lee is a guy who can do exciting flips, but has no idea when he should be doing them. It’s neat to do the standing SSP in the opening kickout at zero, it’s effective if he saved it for a late fall. This was better than it should’ve been, and I guess that has to go to Delta’s credit.

Charly Manson in jail, Forjando un Idolo, Arturo Rivera, Rey Escorpion?

Charly Manson

Charly Manson will be in jail until his trial starts. He was brought in a front of a judge to be officially charged for attacking three police officers, aggravated assault, and attacking authority figures. He was not given the option to meet bail, will be in prison for now, and could face up to 15 years in prison (thanks Kris). It may be a long time before we see him again.

No word on his assistant, Adrian Lopez Reyes. He’s listed as 33 years old in this article. I suspect he’s a luchador, because luchadors tend to hang with their own, but no one’s mentioned any other identity. Edit: Apolo Valdes says Adrian Lopez Reyes is not a luchador.

The two police officers attacked are still in the hospital. One was in intensive care with a fractured skull, the other underwent nose surgery and a neck strain. That one may leave the hospital this week, the other one is unclear. A police spokesman explained the police officers were not as well trained in melee combat as the wrestlers, which is why they got the worst of the fight. It doesn’t quite fit with the idea that Charly & friend being very drunk; if you read thru comments on at least one article, it’s being alleged that Charly was under the influence of substances other than alcohol. The articles seem to imply Charly thought the police officers had something to do with his car’s disappearance – this is not unthinkable in Mexico – but it’s completely unclear if there’s any validity to this or if it was just the thought processes of a person under the influence.

Last night, AAA took the stance of being against violence outside wrestling (bold) but also said they’d let the legal process play out before doing anything with Charly. Charly’s scheduled for tomorrow’s TV taping, and probably was on the lineup for Saturday’s show. If he’s in jail, it’s not like they can use him regardless, but I don’t know how AAA doesn’t just fire him right now and make a public show of distancing themselves from him. It’s not like they can’t pick him up later if stories change (he’s got no other options), and AAA needs to show that they’re not running a promotion full of scoundrels. I’m sure people in the know could probably clue me in plenty of scandals that got quieted up in time, but AAA ones seems to always find the press: Charly and Metal’s DUI this year, Octagon’s DUI and the Billy/Mesais/Hijo de Tirantes substance fueled fight with a taxi driver in years past are the ones I can easily remember and I may be missing something. If someone (who mattered) started putting these things together, it’s going to hurt AAA’s image when it comes to sponsors and such. Charly was brought back to AAA as a favor to Cibernetico, and I’m sure Cibernetico doesn’t want to see his friend abandoned at a time like this, but they do have to consider everyone else working at the company who did not (allegedly) break a police officer’s skull and shouldn’t have to pay any part of the price for it.

CMLL (MON) 04/25/2011 Arena Puebla [Cinco Radio]
3) Metal Blanco b Dragon Lee [Forjando un Idolo]
Metal Blanco [4] beat Dragon Lee [3]. Dragon Lee was stretchered out.
4) Delta b Guerrero Maya Jr. [Forjando un Idolo]
Delta [9] sweeps the group. Maya is at 4 points.
5) Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi b Rush, Sagrado, Valiente
6) Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara, La Sombra ?? Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
No finish reported. Unknown if Mr. Niebla appeared.
7) Último Guerrero b Hirooki Goto
UG won the first, Goto pinned him with his feet on the ropes (ignored by Tirantes) and UG returned the favor (and Tirantes ignored it again) for the win.

Looking forward to Porra Fresa’s recap.

CMLL confirmed Maya won the second bonus point yesterday, which leads the group standings as
9 Delta
4 Guerrero Maya Jr.
4 Metal Blanco
3 Dragon Lee

The new Guerrero Maya Jr. profile page says he’s advanced and the Metal Blanco profile page says he’s eliminated. That would make sense with Maya beating Metal Blanco earlier in their head to head match. However, there’s still one more bonus point, which would seem to possibly give Blanco the playoff birth. Or, Dragon Lee could win the bonus point and confuse this more.

Tonight’s matches in Group Delta are Fuego vs Magnus and Angel de Plata vs Polvora. The first one is the one that matters; winner advances, loser is out, tie keeps them tied.

Arturo Rivera has left intensive care and is recovering. It’s believed that he’ll eventually be able to return to announcing.

The newest Luchas 2000 teases a new Invasor, which seems like a pointless idea at the moment, but let’s go with it. The luchador is wearing a combo Histeria/Psicsois’ mask. Black Abyss is still hanging around somewhere, waiting to get a new gimmick and a spot here, but the preview mentions international experience. That would seem to point to Durango Kid, who hasn’t been seen under that name in two months. He’s also Histeria’s brother, which makes the partnership obvious.

Speaking of magazines, what do you make of this tweet? I presume we shouldn’t get too attached the box y lucha forum.

Magnus says his cousin Sin Cara gave him some lessons, which is he has a similar style, but he’s never mentioned the relationship because he feels it’s important to make his own name. Magnus’ father told him he’ll have to work twice as hard to overcome the detractors. Magnus really should take over CMLL booking today, he’ s got a much better handle on it than the people who put him on TV.

Crazy Boy, who’s been missing for the a while, says he underwent knee surgery.

All the mentions of Io Shirai coming in for the Lucha Fan Fest seem to miss that she was actually in Mexico, last year, on TV quite a few times. I don’t think it’s people keeping (very obvious non-)secrets, it’s more of a sign about how little most people seem to pay attention to AAA’s TV.

AAA in AJPW

6) Ayumi Kurihara vs Mima Shimoda – winner gets a shot the CMLL Women’s title

Suspect they’re setting up Ayumi vs Amapola, which could be great.

Lineups

CMLL UWE (SAT) 04/30/2011 Arena Lopez Matoes
1) Ángel de la Noche, Hormiga Atomica, Rey Krystal vs Halcon Diabolico I, Halcon Diabolico II, Ronny Ventura
2) Gallo Tapado Jr., Robin Maravilla, Sadico vs Hombre sin Rostro, Kilvan, Yakuza
3) Rey Krymen, Sepulturero I, Terry 2000 vs Cerbero Maligno, Epitafio, Herejia
4) Chucho el Roto, Iron Love, Solar I vs Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II
5) Atlantis, Escorpion, Último Guerrero vs Ray Mendoza Jr., Scorpio Jr., Villano IV

Kid’s Day show. That main event is extra interesting, because Scorpion Jr. has said he’s not happy about Escorpion using that name. Also, the show will feature a Michael Jackson impersonator.

CMLL (SUN) 05/01/2011 Arena Coliseo
1) Camaleón & Freesbe vs Bronco & Disturbio
2) Guerrero Maya Jr., Hombre Bala Jr., Stuka Jr. vs Rayo Tapatío I, Rayo Tapatío II, Virus
3) Rey Escorpion vs Palacio Negro [Forjando un Idolo]
4) Ángel de Oro vs Rey Cometa [Forjando un Idolo]
5) Diamante, Metro, Rush vs El Alebrije, Misterioso Jr., Olímpico
6) Black Warrior, Blue Panther, La Sombra vs Atlantis, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.

Further complicating the name issue is Escorpion appears to be switching to “Rey Escorpion”. Alexis used the name in his last Forjando un Idolo match, and it’s on the poster here. There is another Rey Escorpion around El Paso – I believe that was the one who was in CHIKARA for a while – but I suspect it’s not a concern here. As for the tournament, the Palacio Negro vs Rey Escorpion match is the critical one; winner advances, loser is out, and a draw is confusing.

Semimain is a pseudo-rematch from this week, Metro replacing Angel de Oro since he’s otherwise needed. The Negro Casas vs Blue Panther bit is dropped here, so it’ll be a Mexican Trios Title match next week for the Fan Appreciation show. (Which also means Angel de Oro’s tournament match can’t take place next Sunday.)

Stuka & Virus in the second match is so odd, but there’s no other place with every other angle they’ve got running here and I’d guess someone wanted to just give them a match, so they and Maya got drafted in the Gen2011 vs Vets feud for a night. I actually have a record of Stuka & Tigre Blanco facing the Tapatios in 2005, but no results was found. Virus actually teamed up with the Tapatios back in 2006 in Arena Neza, and faced them in 2000 Arena Coliseo Tag Team Tournament. (Fugaz was Virus’ partner.)

CMLL (SUN) 05/01/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) ?
2) ?
3) Astro Boy & Tigre Blanco vs Mortiz & Semental
4) Lluvia, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Estrellita, Princesa Sujei, Tiffany
5) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano vs Máximo, Toscano, Valiente

Maybe they’re actually sticking with the new trio? Nah.
