CMLL (MON) 11/12/2012 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Akron & Siki Ozama Jr. b Black Tiger & Blue Center
Rudos took 1/3.
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Lady Afrodita, Marcela b La Vaquerita, Mima Shimoda, Zeuxis
Tecnicos took 2/3, Marcela defeating Zeuxis for the win. Vaquerita, working against Afrodita, looked lost at times.
3) Skándalo b Metatrón [lightning]
Reyna Isis accompanied Skandalo. Skandalo won with the Skandalo Driver. Metatron had one of his better performances.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Triton b Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 1/3, Fantasma surprising Misterioso with a roll up.
5) La Sombra, Máximo, Rush DQ Tama Tonga, Terrible, Tiger
Tecnicos took 1/3, Terrible fouling Sombra in the third fall. Sombra challenged Terrible to a singles match, but Terrible just left.
6) Mephisto b Mistico
Mephisto won the first with a powerbomb, Mistico came back in the second with a torito. Mistico landed his rope crossing dive late in the ring, then landed a shooting star press once without being able to get the pin. Moments later, he went for another, but his feet hit the the ropes on the way down and Mistico crashed shoulder first into the mat. Mistico attempted to cover Mephisto anyway, but Mephisto put him in an armbar and Mistico immediately gave up. The doctor and Tirantes attended to Mistico after the match.

CMLL hasn’t said anything about Mistico’s status, but the local promoter in Durango says Mistico has suffered a shoulder injury and will not be wrestling at their show on Sunday, though he will be appearing to sign autographs. Hope he didn’t hurt his signing shoulder. Delta replaces him on that card. Mistico is supposed to be on Friday night’s Arena Mexico show, and no replacement has been announced yet.

2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior b Astral, Bam Bam, Pequeño Halcón
Rudos took 1/3. Bam Bam’s latest return, though it ended with Demus dropping him with his piledriver so he could be gone again. Olimpico also submitted Ultimo Dragon.
3) Fuego, Stuka Jr., Triton DQ Hijo del Signo, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Stuka & Okumura are feuding (or maybe this is the Coliseo tag team feud again.) Stuka beat fall 1, then the rudos were DQed for excessive violence in the second.
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Valiente b Niebla Roja, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
Straight falls for the tecnicos when the rudos fell apart. Polvora sided with Rey Escorpion and Niebla Roja wasa left without his mask.

Negro continued his dominance over Angel de Oro with a win in 8:49.
6) Tama Tonga & Terrible b Atlantis & Diamante Azul [CMLL TAG]

Aerostar, Dark Dragon and Fenix won the main event over Difunto I, Monje Negro Jr., and Potro Jr. by DQ in Monterrey, with Dark Dragon refused to help his teammates.

MedioTiempo has an interview with Mesias. He talks a bit about his match with Texano, but also calls LA Park his toughest rival since coming to Mexico, and trashes Carlito as someone’s been handing everything and used his influence to keep Mesias from going to WWE.

I will be losing AYM Sports from my cable system on 12/12. AYM has broadcasts Sobre el Ring (the Javier Llanes/Jaque Mate interview show) and various independent groups (Revolution Free Style! FULL!), but is most notable for broadcasting IWRG’s Sunday shows the last couple months. I’m going to miss those, there’s been some really great and fun matches during this short run. The show drives me crazy because I’m up until way too late to put it together for the Tuesday post, but I’ve been thrilled to share the matches with everyone else. We’ve got four more Mondays to go.

I think it may be a case where everyone in the United States is losing AYM; this is not a surprise, one of you mentioned a month back they tried to sign up to get the channel only to be told AYM was going away by their cable system. The channel that replaces it is “Latin American Sports“, and is owned by the same parent company, so they may have simply decided to change which channel they wanted to transmit to the US. AYM Sports itself will still keep broadcasting in Mexico and continue the lucha libre shows, I just won’t be able to share them. The channel description for Latin American Sports says it too broadcasts wrestling (possibly from Puerto Rico?), but does not say what. It’s supposedly already on DISH Network, but I can’t find a guide with a programming listing and there is no website.

Murder Clown is upset the Infierno Rockers would attack them from behind. That’s not very gentlemanly! There’s also talk about the Psycho Circus wanting the trios titles back. It’s seemed like AAA may be doing a Psycho Circus vs Consejo trios title rematch (with Silver defending the title instead of Texano), and that’s suggested in this article agian, but maybe it’ll turn out to be three way with the Rockers?

Joe Lider & Kaientai will face off in a hair vs mask match on NGX’s 10th anniversary show.

DTU luchador Tacubo will be given an award for his anti-bullying campagin.

R de Rudo has a podcast talking about Eddie Guerrero, 7 years after his passing. Perros del Mal will also discuss Eddie Guerrero on their podcast.

AAA’s website has an article about how AAAwesome AAA is. If they really want talk about how they have zero taboos, maybe they can mention Extreme Tiger leaving.

AAA also has part one and part two of their interview with Psycho Circus.

X-Project is doing it’s annual toy drive, this one for Fray Tormenta.

El Hijo del Santo was part of a press conference to promote a film festival in Mexico City later this month.

Lineups

CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 11/20/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Halcón de Plata & Metatrón vs Exterminador & Magnum
2) Gallo, Sensei, Starman vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Cancerbero, Raziel
3) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Silueta vs La Comandante, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
4) Atlantis, Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada vs Morphosis, Psicosis, Tama Tonga
5) La Máscara vs Volador Jr.

This is the seventh La Mascara/Volador Jr. match this year, and third in Guadalajara. They’ve split the other two.

A increasingly rare Morphosis appearance! His first match in CMLL in two months, his first appearance in Guadalajara since February. Mophosis seems to spend most of his time in Texas/northern Mexico, where he’s still working as Histeria.

More loaded card than usual means Metatron is down to the opener here.

IWRG (SUN) 11/18/2012 Arena Naucalpan
1) Astro Rey Jr. & Serpiente de Oro vs Dragón Celestial & Epidemia
2) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Trauma II vs Carta Brava Jr., Eita, Oficial Fierro
3) Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Saruman vs Alan Extreme, Imposible, Jack
4) Hijo de Pirata Morgan vs Veneno, Trauma I, Oficial AK47, Cien Caras Jr., Relámpago, Canis Lupus, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 [#1 Contenders, Rey de Ring]
5) el Ángel vs Oficial 911 [IWRG IC WELTER]

It’s been a long six days since the last IWRG tournament. Relampago is going to keep going into these until he finally wins a match. Last #1 contenders match meant an immediate title match, not sure if that’s the same here.

911 vs Angel looks really good, as do the 2nd and 3rd match. It looked like Cerebro Negro was headed towards the rudo side in last weekend’s tournament, something to watch here. Interesting to see Trauma II scheduled for a segunda.

They’re doing a 3 for a price of 2 ticket deal.

CMLL (SUN) 11/04/2012 Arena Coliseo
1) Herodes Jr. & Ramstein b Bengala & Robin
Robin replaced Camaleon on Tuesday. Rudos took 1/3. Herodes pinned himself while pinning Bengala, but Tigre Hispano did not notice.
2) Hombre Bala Jr., Magnus, Super Halcon Jr. b Disturbio, Hijo del Signo, Zayco
Tecnicos took 2/3, Halcon powerslam into the buckles on Disturbio while Bala split legged moonsaulted ayco.
3) Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis b Fuego, Stuka Jr., Triton
Rudos took 2/3, Okumura superplexing and sentoning Fuego. Namajague hurt his left shoulder but finished the match.
4) Misterioso Jr. b Diamante [lightning]
Misterioso won in 8:57 via Gori SPecial.
5) Kráneo, Pólvora, Psicosis b Blue Panther, Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada
Dorada and Polvora feuded the entire match. The announcers suggested a title match between them before it started. Dorada surprised Psicosis with a pinfall in the first, Polvora powerbombed Dorada in the second, and they ripped each other’s masks in the third. A Mije splash beat Panther in the third, Dorada springboard splashed Kraneo to defeat him, and Polvora pinned Dorada for the win after a Valagueza into a low blow. Polvora made the title match challenge after the match.
6) Diamante Azul, La Sombra, Shocker DQ Dragón Rojo Jr., Tama Tonga, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos won by DQ when Tonga unmasked Azul. Azul challenged him to a singles match next week, Tonga accepted.

AAA’s TV announced a TV taping for 11/25 in Villahermosa, Tabasco. That would air the day before Guerra de Titanes. There’s no taping announced between this Friday’s taping in Puebla and this new show, so the Puebla taping is two weeks of taping. AAA doesn’t have to set up the whole card by the end of Puebla, but the main events should be clear.

1) Magnus, Sagrado, Soberano Jr. vs Camorra, Inquisidor, Ramstein
Sagrado & Magnus replaced Metalico & Tigre Blanco. Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Fuego, Mr. Cacao, Stuka Jr. DQ Arkángel de la Muerte, Hijo del Signo, Skándalo
Rudos were accompanied by Nitro (seemed to be walking okay) and new valet Isis. Straight falls for the tecnicos, Cacao surprising Arkangel in the first, Arkangel fouling Cacao in the second. Stuka challenged Arkangel to a match in Cacao’s promotion in November.
3) Goya Kong, León, Marcela b La Seductora, Mima Shimoda, Zeuxis
Tecnicos took 1/3 in a good women’s match.
4) Fantasy b Mercurio [mask]
Very good match. Seconds were Pequeno Olimpico & Astral. Fantasy was wearing his original mask design, while Mercurio’s torn mask revealed dyed hair. Mercurio won the first with a Destroyer, Fantasy the second with a spanish fly in slightly longer than usual opening falls. After a long and exciting third fall, Mercurio went for the Destroyer again, Fantasy escaped and used his own piledriver for the win. Mercurio is Abraham Arrieta Gonzalez, from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, 25 years of age, 5 years a wrestler.
5) Blue Panther, Marco Corleone, Máximo DQ Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión, Tama Tonga
Maximo replaced Rush. Straight falls for the tecnicos, rudos DQed for excessive violence in the second.
6) Volador Jr. b Diamante Azul
Mije accompanied Volador won the first fall with the backcracker. Diamante Azul trapped Volador in the escuedo in the second. A long third fall included a bit where Diamante Azul german suplexed Volador and Mije at the same time. Mije, who was often involved near the end, took the worst of it. Right after, Volador took a wild backdrop to the floor, and was barely able to catch Mije when he was tossed out. Finish saw Azul german suplex Volador again, Mije break up the pin with a splash again, ref admonished Mije, Volador teased a foul, Azul covered up, Volador pulled his mask off and covered him for the win.

IWRG officially announced the annual Castle of Terror show for 11/01, a Thursday night taping.

The IWRG show did not air on AYM Sports tonight. The same listing that correctly predicted IWRG being pre-empted list it as airing this Monday at 9pm Central instead (and every Monday after that, though you should never believe next week’s listings for that sort of channel.) If it airs, I am not really sure how I’m going to get it cut/converted/uploaded before the usual Tuesday morning post update. That post may move to later in the day or maybe get split up somehow, I’ll see.

In a change listed earlier in the week, Leono & Sensei replaced Hombre Bala & Super Halcon.
2) Fuego, Starman, Triton b Arkángel de la Muerte, Shigeo Okumura, Skándalo
tecnicos take 2/3. Mr. Cacao was in the crowd as a fan.
3) Amapola b León [REINA INTL]
Skandalo, who seems to second Amapola a lot, did so here. Starman seconded Leon. Leon won the first with a plancha, Amapola the second with a Devil’s Wings, and the third with an Amapola to win the title on Leon’s first defense. Amapola is the second champion.
4) Diamante Azul b Último GuerreroVolador Jr.AtlantisLa SombraMr. ÁguilaEuforiaShockerTama TongaMarco CorleoneTerribleRushSuper PorkyKráneoDiamanteMisterioso Jr.[Leyenda de Azul]
Mr. Niebla was replaced by Volador Jr. Porky sentoned Misterioso. Euforia beat Diamante with the Nirvanalock. Diamante Azul pinned Kraneo with a german suplex, and Kraneo seemed hurt. Terrible beat Super Porky. Rush and Terrible pinned each other. Euforia gave Marco Corleone the Euforia Special and Ultimo Guerrero added a splash to beat him. Atlantis and Shocker beat Tonga, making his debut. Mr. Aguila moonsaulted Shocker. Sombra defeated Euforia. Atlantis gave Mr. Aguila an Atlantida. Volador stole Sombra’s mask and pinned him. UG beat Atlanits. Volador pulled Azul’s mask, but was caught and disqualified. Azul and UG went for a while, and Azul came on top for the win. Post match, Azul says he wants Volador’s mask. Line is getting long for that ride.
5) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Titán DQ Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Mephisto fouled Mistico.

CMLL just does what it wants and doesn’t really care what people think about it. You sort of have to admire that, though I’m pretty sure it doesn’t end well in a lot of case. This is so much like Mistico; even if Diamante Azul was ready (and Kraneo might dispute that this morning), they’ve pushed him in such a way guaranteed to make a segment of the crowd dislike him.

Amapola said she’d like to hold this title for as long as she held the CMLL one. Seeing as how Silueta won the junior version of this title a year ago and hasn’t had to do much with it, that’s a realistic possibility. Amapola is the fourth different women’s champion in CMLL (Silueta, Blanca, Marcela.)

Tercera Caida announced the next AAA Fusion show is 10/21 in Arena Lopez Mateos. A lineup should turn up this weekend.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 10/19/2012 Arena Mexico

2) Acero, Pequeño Halcón, Shockercito vs Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior
3) Máscara Dorada, Shocker, Super Porky vs Black Warrior, Mr. Águila, Puma King

5) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Mistico vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
6) Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Tama Tonga vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero

Tama Tonga as the third man is probably not a good long term solution since he’s got other business, but he’ll fit in fine for now. Nice to finally be getting into the Guerreros vs non-Guerrero matches.

Mistico’s found new super friends but the same opponents.

Maxino vs Rey Bucanero is a match I’ve seen.

Tijuana feuds, Atlantis & Azul keep their titles, Centella de Oro

1) Angelus & Eternus b Fantástico & Misionero De La Muerte
2) Falcon De Oro & Piloto Nuclear b Tornado Negro I & Tornado Negro II
firs match in years for Oro & Nuclear.
3) Juventud Guerrera NC TJ Boy [AAA CRUISER]
TJ Boy had Juvi pinned with a powerbomb when 8 men ran in wearing Blue Demon masks to attack both TJ Boy and their seconds (Tornado Negro & Extasis; unclear if Juvi is attacked) They revealed themselves to be Ursus, Jonathan, Tony Casanova, Viento, Zarco, Mr. Maldito, Angel Metalico and X-Torm (as leader). Psicosis, Border Patrol, Konnan and the remaining opening card guys ran in for the save, with Konnan promising to invade the Crash show in two weeks.
4) Hijo de Rey Misterio II b Cibernético and El Mesías and Silver King
Silver King pinned both Cibernetico and Mesias with help from Konnan an illegal kicks, Hijo de Rey Misterio beat Silver for the win. Mr. Tempest attacked Rey Misterio after the match to set up a mask match between them.
5) Máscara Año 2000 Jr. & Psicosis b Dr. Wagner Jr. & Joe Lider
Both Mascara and Psicosis started the mask matched, but Wagner took Mascara’s mask off in the second fall. Rudos took 1/3, Psicosis pinning Lider, Wagner pinning Mascara, and Psicosis using the stapler (with the ref not seeing) to beat Wagner.

1) Akuma & Guerrero Negro Jr. b Oro Jr. & Robin
Akuma debuted and won with a valagueza, which runs in the family.
2) Fuego, Pegasso, Triton b Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
tecnicos took 2/3, Fuego beatnig Virus.
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Super Porky b Black Warrior, Misterioso Jr., Olímpico
Tecnicos took 1/3. Warrior blatantly fouled Super Porky.
4) Tiger b Sagrado [lightning]
Tiger snuck in a cradle before pinning Sagrado in 5:10.
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Prince Devitt b Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Taichi
Tecnicos took 2/3. Dragon Rojo & Prince Devitt feuded, though were not involevd in the finish.
6) Atlantis & Diamante Azul b Felino & Mr. Niebla [CMLL TAG]
Atlantis & Diamante Azul are the champs and kept the belts by winning falls 2/3. The musical act for the night played the Atlantis’ music. In a post match interview, Atlantis pointed out that if he’s the “malo amigo” the Guerreros keep calling him, why is he a successful tag champion and they’re breaking up? Azul proposed a title unification match with Stuka & Fuego, and so will never get to book this promotion.

It’s really too bad Atlantis didn’t stick with Party Rock if they were going to have someone play his music live.

JCR mentioned they’d be back in Arena Coliseo next week.

Full results from tonight’s AAA taping should be around tomorrow. Their live reporting ended early, as usually happens. There really can’t be any be a bigger news then Consejo debuting their own fake QueMonito. Such an odd decision for a scary invasion group, but they really haven’t been one of those for a while.

Possibly more Guadalajara results later as well, but we know Hijo del Fantasma & La Sombra beat Mr. Aguila & Vangelis in the main event. Even Hijo del Fatnasma can’t be losing to that rudo team.

Centauro de Fuego’s first match since April.
2) Gallo, Leono, Metálico b Apocalipsis, Cholo, Nosferatu
Gallo replaced Soberano, won in his debut.
3) Amapola, La Seductora, Princesa Sugheit b Lady Afrodita, Luna Mágica, Marcela
Amapola led her team to win, challenged Marcela for a title match for next week.
4) Virus b Fuego [lightning]
5) Mistico, Titán, Valiente b Ephesto, Euforia, Mephisto
A much more successful match for Mistico this time.
6) Terrible b Diamante Azul [CMLL HEAVY]
Seconds were Comandante and Mistico. Terrible kept his title.

I want to make fun of Amapola & Marcela having another title match. I can’t. After all the bad women’s match of late, I want that to be the only women’s match they do.

As you might have noticed from the earlier video post (or can check out in full on LuchaWorld), CMLL has started airing Arena Puebla in the US. It turned up this Sunday on the Estrellas TV network. The network is the same deal as LATV, broadcasting on local (usually digital) channels, but it’s different in that every network seems to be on it’s own schedule. Here outside Chicago, it aired on Sunday from 4pm local to 6pm, and it sounded like that was generally the time elsewhere. Last week, it was listed on the programming grid as “Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre” (same as the LATV show), but the channel grid was off by an hour. It is not on the grid from my local channel right now, but the announcers were hyping this Terrible vs Diamante Azul as airing on the show this weekend.

(As with other stations, there’s no mention of CMLL on EstrellaTV’s website, and no programming grid.)

As far as I know, Puebla will continue to air on TVC Deportes with a different production crew, as has happened the last few times Puebla has popped up on 52MX. Two different production crews covering Arena Puebla, what a thing. This would bring a total of 9.5 hours of televised CMLL each week, and another 2.5 hours on the web, though some matches are being shown twice. One of CMLL’s main revenue sources seems to be “selling TV rights to

If that’s not enough TV for you, IWRG says their functions will be broadcast live, though they give absolutely no details beyond that. In the past, the Gladiadores have done live radio broadcasts of IWRG shows, but those have been rare this year.

Fuego en el Ring has In Memoriam’s full name as “José Manuel Campos Ornelas”. They also mention Barbaro beat Smaker in a pairs match on Sunday’s card (via foul), then challenged him for a title rematch. It doesn’t seem in the cards yet.

Today’s CMLL changes are only in the segunda, where the original segunda of Camaleon, Molotov, Sensei vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, and Inquisidor is now Bengala, Molotov, Tigre Balnco vs Artillero, Inquisidor, and Super Comando. That’s four subs, though they did make the change on the website and on the preview. This show is almost all guys who will not be working Friday’s Anniversary show.

AAA announced they’ll be taping on 09/28 in Arena Naucalpan. That’s a Friday night, which usually means no Thursday night IWRG (and TVC Deportes will be using one of the Sunday tapings.) Crowd have been great whenever AAA tapings in Arena Naucalpan. Lineup will probably be out early next week.

LuchaWorld has Prince Devitt vs Volador Jr. and Rush in an eight man tag from 07/29, just before the G1.

Lucha Libre in Japan

NJPW announced Mascara Dorada, Averno and Felino would be heading to KAIENTA DOJO (which I confused with Michinoku last night) from 09/20-09/23. Dorada & Avenro will be off the NJPW shows for that stretch, and have a singles match on one of the show. They’ll also have a singles match on NJPW’s show at US army base, but it doesn’t look like they’ll be doing a title match.

NJPW has an ongoing relationship with KAIENTAI DOJO, much like the one they have with CMLL, so it’s interesting to see the three groups working together and it’d be nice if it led to more. There are plenty of guys in CMLL who would do well in Japan in but are too far down the depth chart to get a serious run in NJPW any time soon and need a smaller promotion to have a chance. Triton, for example, has a slim chance of making a FantasticMania show and no more than, but would be work great as the lucha guy in KAIENTAI DOJO.

Lineup

CMLL (SUN) 09/16/2012 Arena Mexico
1) Oro Jr. & Robin vs Akuma & Guerrero Negro Jr.
2) Fuego, Pegasso, Triton vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
3) Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Super Porky vs Black Warrior, Misterioso Jr., Olímpico
4) Sagrado vs Tiger [lightning]
5) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Prince Devitt vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Taichi
6) Atlantis & Diamante Azul vs Felino & Mr. Niebla [CMLL TAG]
Atlantis & Diamante Azul are the champs

Third straight Sunday Arena Mexico show. They haven’t drawn especially well, but that never stops CMLL. If you’re looking for a title match they could run next week, the semimain could set up a rematch for the trios titles or (gasp) Rojo & Escorpion challenging Devitt for his title.

Seems like a slightly more full show than usual – that segunda would be a tercera most weeks, and nearly a semimain on some recent Tuesdays. Sagrado/Tiger feels like it should be lower, but it lets them run the three TV matches together.

This is the sixth lightning match for Sagrado in the last two months, out of twenty one total. That’s 28%, or 35% if you take out the women’s matches. No one else has appeared more than twice. Sagrado, human dividing line, has beat Niebla Roja & Polvora, and lost to Mephisto, Rey Escorpion, Euforia. That’s neatly a group of guys who are midcarders and guys who are near the top. Which group is Tiger in?

CMLL (SUN) 09/16/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Yaki vs Gran Kenut
2) El Divino & Sky Kid vs Èvola & Thunder Boy
3) Black Metal & Virgo vs Espectrum & Rey Trueno
4) Esfinge, Gallo, Smaker vs Exterminador, In Memoriam, Maléfico
5) Hijo del Fantasma & La Sombra vs Mr. Águila & Vangelis

Vangelis in a main event! (This is not a strong rudo side.)
