CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Apocalipsis & Guerrero Negro Jr. b Genesis & Soberano Jr.
2) Cancerbero, Hijo del Signo, Raziel b Bengala, Metálico, Sensei
3) Pierrothito b Último Dragoncito [lightning]
Pierrothito won in 7:12.
4) Fuego, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. b Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Tecnicos took 2/3, Sagrado pinning Okumura.
5) Niebla Roja, Terrible, Tiger b Ángel de Oro, Diamante, Hijo del Fantasma
Niebla Roja replaced Rey Bucanero, who suffered a knee injury Monday in Puebla. Rudos took 2/3. Angel de Oro hurt his knee, and Niebla Roja seemed very concerned.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Black Warrior, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr.
Delta wore pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Euforia started the match for the rudos, but was replaced by a late arriving Mr. Aguila (so late he didn’t have his hair up or his facepaint on.) Tecnicos won and challenged for a rematch.

CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Virgo b Thunder Boy
2) Metatrón & Smaker b Exterminador & Ráfaga
Smaker replaced Black Metal, Rafaga replaced Malefico.
3) Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior b Aereo, Pequeño Halcón, Shockercito
4) Ephesto, Mephisto, Tama Tonga b La Sombra, Marco Corleone, Rush
Tonga pinned Sombra in the first/third.
5) Máximo DQ Averno
Averno got help from Mephisto and Ephesto. Maximo snuck in a small package, and the rudos ran in for the DQ. Rush & Marco tried to make the save but were laid out, leading to a trios title match next week.

Halloween wrote he suffered one broken rib and two fractured ribs in Sunday’s title match with Ricky Marvin & Super Crazy. He does not know when he will be able to return. (Website suggests a painful 6-10 week recovery, which means he’s probably done for the year.) We can only hope this doesn’t hurt his chances with Mari Apache.

R de Rudo caught up to Damian 666 to ask what was with Mr. Aguila teaming with him last weekend. He explained it as X-Fly missing a flight back from Ciudad Juarez and Aguila filling in as a one time replacement. Damian’s off to Panama this weekend.

Heddi Karaoui is out of Thursday’s IWRG IC Middleweight Championship match. Relampago legdropped him on the head on Thursday, concussion Karaoui and taking him out of one of his biggest matches since coming to Mexico. Oficial AK47 takes Karaoui’s spot. That’s much more interesting match to me, but it’s unfortunate for Karaoui.

Kaiser Sports has this message posted on top of their website:

A nuestros queridos amigos, seguidores y lectores: Ante las nuevas disposiciones del CMLL que limitan nuestro libre ejercicio profesional, desde este 23 de octubre ya no podremos ofrecer información al respecto, pues consideramos que valores como la lealtad y el respeto deben ser mutuos, no solo unilateralmente, Gracias.

CMLL is implementing some new policy “that limits our profession” so they’ll no longer be covering CMLL “because we feel values of loyalty and respect must be mutual.” Harsh. I wonder what “limits our profession” means? CMLL demanding approval over anything posted?

Whatever it is, this is really disappointing. It’s another excellent source of CMLL news run off by CMLL. Many times, like the recent Guerrero break up, the Kaiser Sports interviews have done a better job of explaining and getting over CMLL’s storylines than CMLL’s done on their own. CMLL is still covered in papers and some of the magazines, but most of the coverage is frequently dry lineups and results, nothing that would cause someone to be interested in CMLL if they weren’t already. It’s also usually the same article just reprinted as copy everywhere; this is a source of original material that’s just going to be gone and not replaced. CMLL and Kaiser Sports had a falling out about a year ago that was eventually resolved, hopefully that’ll just repeat.

It also has some slight international implications, since they were supplying NJPW with interview photos when their guys would come to CMLL (Alexis sends the match/press conference ones.)

Hijo de LA Park and Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. will be in the Castle of Terror after all.

LuchaWorld has Alfredo on this week’s 52MX show.

CMLL (TUE) 10/30/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metatrón vs Exterminador
2) Shockercito vs Aereo, Pequeño Halcón, Astral, Último Dragoncito, Fantasy, Demus 3:16, Pierrothito, Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior [Mini Reyes del Aire]
3) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada vs Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]
Love Buffet are champs.

Fun show. Main event should be good, semimain should be a fun romp for the tecnicos, and pequeno estrellas all flying around in the opener. (Also, Metatron.) Like the full sized version, this is a repeat from doing the tournament in May in Arena Mexico. Even CMLL can’t keep track of it’s tournaments.

CMLL (TUE) 10/23/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]

Clowns keep their titles, lose to other Clowns

IWRG (SUN) 06/05/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring, Record (1-4), Record (5)]
1) Alan Extreme & Imposible b Tritón & Turbo
Turbo replaced Dragon Fly.
2) El Pollo Asesino, Fresero Jr., King Drako b Dinamic Black, Dr. Muerte, Hijo del Pantera
Card was switched around a bit from the early listing, but I’m betting Dr. Muerte on the tecnico side was still a replacement for someone.
3) Avisman b Freelance
Avisman took falls 1/3, though Freelance had Avisman beat in the third fall multiple times while the ref was down. Freelance challenged him to a hair match.
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Multifacético, Pantera, Veneno
Oficial took falls 2/3. 911 tore Multifacteico’s mask, pinned after a Gori Sepcial, and challenged him to a title match.
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown b Bestia 666, Damián 666, X-Fly [IWRG IC TRIOS]
Clowns took falls 2/3 to keep these titles. X-Fly accidentally hit Damian 666, and Psycho Clown gave Damian spinebuster for the deciding pin.

AULL (SUN) 06/05/2011 Arena Lopez Mateos [Estrellas del Ring (4-6), Mi Lucha Libre (6)]
4) Yakuza b Herejia [AULL WELTER]
Yakuza won the title back from Herejia.
5) Judas el Traidor, Sangre Chicana, Trauma I, Trauma II b Chucho el Roto, Iron Love, Sadico, Zumbi
Iron Love & Chucho el Roto challenged for a AULL TAG match despite the loss; it’ll be a three way with Daga & Eterno.
6) Coco Amarillo, Coco Azul, Coco Rojo DQ Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
Coco Rojo fouled Monster Clown and faked a foul right after; ref gave it to him.

CMLL (SUN) 06/05/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [El Occidental, Fuego en el Ring]
1) Nube Roja b Quca
2) Black Metal & Leo b Ángel del Mal & Drago
Black Metal replaced Hierro. Rudo team not actually specified.
3) Exterminador & Infierno b Leono & Metálico
What was listed on the poster as Metalik was actually Metalico. Upset win for the rudo.
4) Delta, Diamante, Metro b Cancerbero, Euforia, Pólvora
Delta and Polvora kept fighting after the finish, and Polvora had to be pulled away by his teammates.
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto DQ La Máscara, La Sombra, Valiente
Crowd was loud behind Averno. Rudos jumped the tecnicos to win the first, Averno yanked La Mascara’s mask to lose the second, Averno fouled La Mascara in the third to lose the match.

CMLL in Japan

NJPW 06/05: Mascara Dorada [6] b Daisuke Sasaki [2] (8:02)
Daisuke Sasaki is Tokyo area indy worker who won a tournament to get into this tournament (a lot like our friend Taichi.) Dorada is in 5th, but only two points out of 2nd, and I think tomorrow’s results could produce some favorable results:

Gedo [2] vs Mascara Dorada [6]
TAKA Michinoku [6] vs Daisue Sasaki [2]
Ryusuke Taguchi [6] vs KUSHIDA [8]
The Great Sasuke [10] vs Kota Ibushi [8]
Bye: Jushin Liger [8]

There are no certainties, but TAKA should beat Sasaki and Dorada should beat Gedo, getting them both to 8. Based on how they were positioned coming into this tournament, Taguchi is the favorite over KUSHIDA, so both of them would have 8 as well. The Sasuke/Ibushi match of outsiders is unpredictable, but if Sasuke can pull off a win, that would put TAKA, Taguchi, Ibushi, Liger, KUSHIDA and Guadalajara’s Mascara Dorada in a six way tie for second, and all six guys just happen to be facing off in matches on the final league day.

Reina 06/04:
3) Hiroyo Matsumoto b Silueta (10:58)
5) Aki Kanbayashi (O) & Ray b Manami Toyota & Zeuxis (X) (23:15) – this sets up a Zeuxis/Ray match on 06/19.

Negro Casas & Texano retain their titles, updated IWRG lineup

CMLL (TUE) 12/01 Arena Mexico [Notimex]
1) Astral & Fantasy vs Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Universo 2000
2) Dr. X, Durango Kid, Escorpion vs Guerrero Maya Jr., Sensei, Tigre Blanco
3) Arkangel de la Muerte, Bronco, Virus b Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata
4) Blue Panther, Toscano, Valiente DQ Averno, Dragon Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla
5) Negro Casas b Máscara Dorada [CMLL WELTER]

Toscano and Escorpion were their cornerman for the main event. Names out of a hat! Negro took the first, Dorada the second, and Negro took the third clean to retain the title. Notimex’s recap says Dorada did not fly as much as usual, but the pictures make it look as though he got caught going for one too many.

Rudos lost the semifinals in straight falls, Averno unmasking Valiente and Toscano getting filed by someone in the second.

CMLL (TUE) 12/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Exterminador b El Divino
2) Angelo & Metatrón b In Memoria & Malefico
3) Acertijo, Asesino Negro, Drago b Astaroth, Hierro, Metal Blanco
4) Atlantis, Naito, Yujiro b Brazo de Plata, Máximo, Sagrado
5) Texano b Shocker [NWA LH]

If I thought to do a poll for this one, the question would not be about the winner, but whether Shocker would show up. Happily, he did. Shocker won the first, Texano the second. Texano faked a foul in the third, but the referee did not allow it (that’s going around), and Texano won with two backcrackers.

Imagine if Texano beat Shocker and Atlantis clean in singles matches in Arena Mexico. That would actually be elevating someone. But at least now he’s big in Guadalajara. Anyway, Texano says he no longer feels like he’s a rookie and he’s becoming a star, but he’s not 100% satisfied because he still has that big match on Friday.

IWRG (SUN) 12/06 Arena Naucalpan
1) Angel de la Noche vs Keshin Black
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II vs Anubis & Mixteco Jr.
3) Eragon, Exodia, Freelance vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
4) Bushi, Suicida, Zatura vs Histeria, Psicosis, Tóxico
5) El Alebrije, Hijo del Lizmark, Super Porky vs Hijo del Cien Caras, Pirata Morgan, Veneno

Plenty of changes, most notable the Oficials being missing but Bushi still being on after the mask match. Make of that what you will. The poster has Suicida on both sides of the semifinal, but I assume Toxico is still meant to be on the rudo side.

03/16: Mexico, GDL, IWRG

CMLL (SUN) 03/15 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, SuperLuchas]
1) Caligula & Messala b Molotov & Trueno
2) Arkangel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skandalo b Fabian el Gitano, Flash, Stuka Jr.
3) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela b Hiroka, Princesa Blanca, Sahori
4) Angel Azteca Jr., Blue Panther, La Sombra b Lizmark Jr., Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero
5) Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto [CMLL TRIOS]

Title match came down to Averno and Mascara, and Mascara got Averno clean with the campana. Angel Azteca was the fill in for Marco and looked good. That match was all about Panther and Lizmark cheating each other. Sahori filled in for Rosa Negra (who did not jump to AAA, as far as I know!), though she was a reluctant participant on the ruda side and may have caused her team to lose.

No updates on replacements for Marco tomorrow and Sunday yet.

CMLL (SUN) 03/15 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [ESTO, MT]
4) Dos Caras Jr., Mistico, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas
5) Texano Jr. DQ Maximo [hair]

Texano won in straight falls. Backcracker to win the first. Texano and Maximo were brawling in the ring during the second fall. They were using punches, so Tigre Hispano got involved to stop them, Maximo tried to sneak in a kick, and Texano faked it as a low blow. Tiger Hispano bought it, and that was the end of Maximo’s pink hair.

Negro got Mistico with La Mistica on Friday, so Mistico got Negro with a casita here. The Dos Jr. turn seems to have disappeared this week.

IWRG (SUN) 03/15 Arena Naucalpan [Box Y Lucha; photos]
1) Comando Negro & Judas el Traidor b Garra de Aguila & Latin Brother
2) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Gemelo Fantastico I, Trauma I, Trauma II [EDM TRIOS]
3) Zatura b Tetsuya Bushi [IWRG IC LIGHT]
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Arlequín, Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Pierroth II [IWRG IC TRIOS]
5) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. b Head Hunter I & Head Hunter II [IWRG IC TAG]

Only title change was Zatura beating Bush for the lightweight title.

3) Joe Lider & Nicho el Millionario b Jack Evans & Teddy Hart [AAA TAG]
4) Alex Koslov, Rocky Romero, X-Pac b Chuck Palumbo, Damian 666, Konnan

Yep, that’s Damian 666 in the main event. The post has video, with most of the main event. Could mean something is going down with the Perros and AAA. Could mean Rellik just couldn’t get there and they found a local replacement. I dunno.

2) Guerrero Inca b Semental
3) Euforia, Misterioso II, Mr. Guerrero b Angel de Oro, Hooligan, Scriba Jr.

5) Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca b Dos Caras Jr., Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado
6) Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr. b La Máscara, Místico, Volador Jr.

Averno got away with a foul in third fall for the main event win. Sangre Azteca led his new team to victory the first time out. ESTO says the lightning match went 7 minutes.

Tecnicas lost in straight falls, and CMLL.com thinks it’s Marcela who’s turning ruda. Huh.

ESTO said the turnout was good, but the crowd was quiet until the main event.

NWA MEXICO (SAT) 11/01 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [superluchas]
1) Fantastico b Eragon [NWA LIGHT, qf]
2) Senki b Angus [NWA LIGHT, qf]
3) Black Thunder b Skayde Jr. [NWA LIGHT, qf]
4) Trauma II b Arcano [NWA LIGHT, qf]
5) Turbo b Alma Infernal [NWA LIGHT, qf]
6) Skayde b Hermano Muerte II [NWA LIGHT, qf, quarterfinal]
7) Trauma II b Fantastic [NWA LIGHT, sf]

9) Skayde b Black Thunder [NWA LIGHT, sf]
10) Skayde b Trauma II, Turbo [NWA LIGHT, final]
11) Incógnito & Siniestro b Cien Caras Jr. & Super Parka
12) Negro Navarro b Black Terry [SALVADOR AMERICA]

Skayde is your new/first? NWA (World?) Lightweight Champion. No photo with the belt yet. I think I’m spending my lunch tomorrow putting that tournament in the wiki.

In relevant news, Blue Demon Jr. presented Skayde with the belt and stayed in the ring to talk about having to choose between the title and NWA Mexico presidency. Before he could officially hand over the presidency, he was interrupted by El Dandy, who demanded and will get a mask vs hair match with Demon on 11/15, as well as possible title shot down the line. Dandy and Trauma II tried to attack Demon, but failed.

SuperLuchas has an interview with Damain, who follows Perro Jr.’s lead of being complimentary to CMLL. He’s surpasses that, putting all his ex-Perro teammates over huge (Averno & Mephisto are the best team in CMLL, he’s happy Ephesto is getting a chance, he thinks Terrible belongs on top and Texano Jr. will be as good as his father) but notes he’s always been a guy who goes from group to group so it’s time to make another move. Damian 666 says only the Original Perros are going, and then is acted about Hector Garza, but Damian’s not sure there. It’s not asked, but you surely can add Halloween to the list of Perro promotion members. (Demon?)

Damian repeatedly uses the name “Jauría del Terror” in talking about the new Averno/Mephisto led group, so he may know something CMLL hasn’t got to announcing yet. There’s near infinite ways I can misspell Jauria, so that’ll be fun.

While those guys are going, some long expected returns appear to have firmer dates. Ovaciones reports today that Shocker will be returning soon, and may herald eventual returns by Zumbido and Scorpio Jr. (more about that later.) Toscano is also believed to be brought in December or January, though Ovaciones is not as sure there.

Scorpio Jr. tells Al Filo del Ring plans on returning on November 30th.

WagnerMania has video of this week’s CMLL main event and Stellar Moments.

CMLL
CMLL

WagnerMania also alerts me to Box Y Lucha posting articles that are dated from earlier this week, but I am sure I haven’t seen when I got there every day. I need a better way of checking, I think. Anyway…

Marco Corelone is NOT going to AAA. Marco is very definite and believable about hwo much he’s committed to CMLL and honest about how he’s still rooting for his friends even though they’re elsewhere – and this article is still right under one which has Damian saying he’s not leaving CMLL.

Dr. Wagner Jr. now wants no part of the Laguneros, because Blue Panther is a LOSER and Wagner has no time for LOSERS, and also no amount of beating the Villanos is going to get Blue Panther his mask back. Wagner sees UG just using Panther’s loss to get himself over.

Atlantis notes he can’t join the Laguneros, because he hails from the Atlantic Ocean. I love Atlantis. Atlantis is sure there’s no fracture in the Guerreros

Sangre Azteca has absolutely no idea what’s going on with the Guerreros. He hasn’t been teamed with them much lately, so he’s just been focusing on his own career instead. Which hasn’t gone so well, because apparently he went thru a stretch where he didn’t have many bookings because shows kept getting rained out. Do you get paid if the show gets rained out? I’m thinking no, or not as much, because that would explain why try so hard to work thru really bad conditions, and that sounds very awful.

Sangre says he’s made between 15 and 18 Mexican welterweight title defenses (even he doesn’t know how many!). He’s offered up opportunities for any challenger, and he still went four months without a title match. Sangre would love to fight Sombra to win the CMLL version of this title to be world champion. (Sombra actually has the NWA, Mistico has the CMLL.) Sangre vows to keep moving forward, with or without the Guerreros.

If they’re going to do another apuesta match, the Villanos want it to be 3 on 3.

El Grafico (via Vanguradia) has a good interview with Princesa Sujei about her career. She was the only woman training at her school (and only trained a few months before going to the ring), but feels she benefited from training with men.

Al Filo del Ring also has video interviews with Solar and a podcast with Tinieblas

The most interesting thing about Accion is they did start airing WWE highlights in the lucha libre block. They were separated into Lucha Libre WWE, Dr. Morales did not do the announcing, and it was highlights of Rey vs Snitsky from a couple of weeks ago on RAW. I wonder if they’ll be included on weeks where they’re not Rey Jr. highlights. AAA had the cage match for control, which was interesting for Konnan taking a fierce Latin Lover chair shot directly on the head and not getting hands up, and Konnan getting in a low blow on Latin Lover after Sergio threw the drink in. Konnan got pelted with drinks as he got to the top of the cage, that must’ve not been fun. CMLL was Friday’s main event, noteworthy only for Dos Caras’s all silver outfit and the hint of a Niebla/Corelone feud.

Negro & Romero in NJPW – 11/1: Negro Casas & Black Tiger IV (!) lose to Liger and Tiger Mask IV at a non-G1 show. TM4 got Negro for the pin.

Box Y Lucha #2895 has Cibernetico leaving AAA, Fire losing his mask, and Gemelos losing their hair.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update. They may have three more updates at the pace I’m going here.

1) Super Halcon Jr. vs Shuriken
2) Eragon & Miss Gaviota vs Avisman & Muerte Negra
3) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Jack vs Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Xibalva
4) Freelance, Latino, Pendulo vs Arlequin, Sauron, Toxico AAA
5) el Hijo del Pierroth, Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 vs Head Hunter I, Toscano, Veneno

At some point, I think I need a better name for him than Toxico (AAA), since he’s not there now. He doesn’t work just Mexico City, but Toxico (DF) might be enough to keep it clear from the Guadalajara one.

CMLL (SUN) 11/09 Arena Coliseo
1) Romano & Sensei vs Camorra & Inquisidor
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Metálico vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Shigeo Okumura, Skandalo

4) Black Warrior, Heavy Metal, Olímpico vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano V
5) La Máscara, Marco Corelone, Sagrado vs Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero

Semimain is not listed as a title match, but that’s what they’ve set up here.

CMLL (SUN) 11/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Quazar vs Relampago Azul
2) Samurai, Thunder Boy, Virgo vs Azazel, Milenio, Neon
3) Lady Apache, Marcela, Silueta vs Amapola, Atenea, Princesa Sujei
4) Blue Panther & Héctor Garza vs Averno & Mephisto

Note that, FWIW, Garza is booked for next week. Aguila and Damian were too, but Hector did show on Friday. We seem to be a match short here anyway. Dos and Wagner?

There’s also a show on Thursday at Arena Mexico to promote the Incredible Hulk DVD release. SuperLuchas has a coupon for four free tickets, so I suspect this is one with a lot of free tickets given out and the sponsor paying what would be the gate.
