11/11 IWRG AYM TV Results – Cerebro Negro new WWS Welterweight Champion

IWRG (SUN) 11/11/2012 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG, The Gladiatores]
1) Araña de Plata & Epidemia b Dragón Celestial & Serpiente de Oro
Serpiente de Oro turned on his partner.
2) Alan Extreme & Eita b Cerebro Negro & Dinamic Black and Dr. Cerebro & Relámpago and Carta Brava Jr. & Golden Magic [seeding battle royal, WWS WELTER]
Canis Lupus was originally listed in the tournament, but replaced by Eita. Eita was making his return from Japan. Usual seeding battle royal – no actual teams, but duos bunched together after elimination.
3) Carta Brava Jr. b Golden Magic [WWS WELTER, quarterfinal]
4) Dr. Cerebro b Relámpago [WWS WELTER, quarterfinal]
5) Cerebro Negro b Dinamic Black [WWS WELTER, quarterfinal]
6) Eita b Alan Extreme [WWS WELTER, quarterfinal]
7) Dr. Cerebro b Carta Brava Jr. [WWS WELTER, semifinal]
Dr. Cerbero beat Carta Brava Jr. with a Cerebrina.
8) Cerebro Negro b Eita [WWS WELTER, semifinal]
Cerbero Negro won with a back suplex.
9) Cerebro Negro b Dr. Cerebro [WWS WELTER, final]
Cerbero Negro gave Dr. Cerbero his own Cerebina, Dr. Cerbero appeared to kick out, the referee counted three again. Fans were unhappy and wanted a rematch.
10) Canis Lupus, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b La Cobra, Trauma II, Veneno
Canis Lupus moved up to this match, replacing Hijo del Solitario (who did no-showed the previous Sunday’s show.) It’s the character’s first match in months, and The Gladitores says it’s a new one. Fierro replaced Toxico. Rudos won, taking falls 1/3.11) Bestia 666, Damián 666, Oficial 911 b el Ángel, Pantera, Trauma I
Originally announced as an atomicos, proceeded without Factor & Hijo de Pirata. Rudos took 1/3. 911 and Angel feuded heavily, 911 pinning Angel with a Styles Clash for the win. Angel & 911 agreed to a deal – Angel will give 911 a shot at his Middleweight title, but 911 must agree to a mask vs mask should he lose.

(results corrected at 11pm)

Show will, cross your fingers, air tonight on AYM Sports.

Looks like this is the beginning of a new Cerebro/Cerebro story. Which makes up for the Angel one which didn’t go anywhere. (Maybe Elisa will get to the bottom of it!) 911 vs Angel sounds fun too, and Canis vs Cobra has potential to be a quicky mask match.

Hijo de Pirata Morgan takes the gold, AULL loses it in Costa Rica

IWRG (SUN) 09/16/2012 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Infierno Kid Jr. b Serpiente de Oro
The ever changing rules of IWRG opener are “one fall” for the moment. Easy win for Infierno Kid.
2) Carta Brava Jr., Imposible, Rayan b Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Saruman
Rayan replaced Matrix Jr.
3) Chicano b Cerebro Negro [WWS WELTER]
Chicano came in as champion, with Imposible as his second. Centvrion worked the opposite corner. Both got involved in the third fall. Chicano survived to powerbomb and plancha Cerbero for the win (2/3) Cerebro Negro gave him credit for the clean win.
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Alan Extreme, Black Terry, Temerario Infernal [EdM Trios]
Oficials came in as champs. Temerarios tookin the first, Oficials took the second. In the third, AK-47 beat Alan Extreme with the Devil’s Wings and Bombero pinned Fierro after a spear. AK-47 took out Bombero with a tope and hurt his knee in the process, leaving 911 and Black Terry alone while the ref checked out the injury. Alan ran back in to hit 911 with a chair, but before Black Terry could cover, Fierrero dropped Terry with a backcracker. 911 crawled on top to keep the titles. Temerarios demanded a rematch.
5) Bestia 666, Damián 666, Eterno b Hijo de LA Park, Negro Navarro, Trauma II
Navarro replaced Fresero Jr. FdT took 1/3. Hijo de LA Park did not get along with his partners from the start and laid down in the third fall for Eterno to beat him. It still took an unseen foul on Navarro from Bestia 666 to give the rudos the win.
6) Hijo de Pirata Morgan b Trauma I, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 [IWRG JUNIORS]
Pirata put the Rey de Ring title on the line, Trauma I put his mask, and Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000 put his Junior titles on the line. Trauma I escaped the match after Mascara splashed Pirata Morgan and Trauma beat Mascara (with lots of interference from Morgan.) Hijo de Pirata Morgan used his Perla Negra (said to be a reinera variant) to submit Mascara and win the Juniors title. Mascara argued he got the ropes, but was ignored.

Lucha Libre in Japan

09/17 Stardom: Dark Angel b Kyoko Kimura [5STAR GP]
– if Dark Angel wins her final match on 09/30, she advances to the final. A CMLL luchador has an actual chance to make a final! It’s too bad they won’t mention this.

09/17 NOAH: Super Crazy [O] & Ricky Marvin b Yoshinobu Kanemaur & Genba Hirayanagi [X] [JH TAG tournament]
– Marvin & Crazy have the same situation; one match left, and if they win, they go to the final.

09/17 WNC: Hajime Ohara b Hijo del Pantera
Pantera just can’t beat Ohara, like Ohara against Ultimo Dragon.

Haven’t seen ESTO or Notimex put up their general previews. I think everyone but me is off. Including half the guys here; they’ve done a lot with Terrible and Texano the last few weeks, but it’s still different to see them in the main event. This show is mostly marking time until things start ramping up again; Mistico will probably be back next week, but I think it might be 01/16 or 01/23 until anything huge of note.

There should be some sort of definite direction out of the Blanca/Marcela stuff after this third week of teaming (and failing.) The storyline makes it a clear 2 fall match, so there should be room for a third on next week’s FSE. Lightning match is different, just because they’ve tended to be one opening card guy and one lower mid guy who occasionally makes TV, and Puma and Azteca are both almost never on TV.

Ovaciones also has a short interview with Hijo de Fantasma, who wants to win a title this year. There’s also a small bit about Perro’s promotion, saying he will announce a second show, sometime soon.

Mr. Reyes posted photos from yesterday’s Neza show with Los Perros. As many (or impossible more) than CMLL’s Mistico show last week. Very weird that a local hair vs mask match gets set up on a CMLL show (with CMLL workers involved in the match!) and gets blown off on a different promotion’s show. Building > promotion I guess.

A post on LMdLL says IWRG’s big multistage cage match ended with Dr. Cerebro taking Cerebro Negro’s hair. I always think IWRG values their own guys less than they ought to; it should be a bigger deal when one of these guys loses their hair.

By the way, el Martiente is now disabling anonymous visits. You have to log into an account to read messages. If you have an account, they’re also asking you to post to prove you’re not an inactive user. While for them this means badly translated posts as I try to stay unbanned, for you this means probably less links there from here; it doesn’t make sense to link to something not everyone can read. I’ve long doing the same for Box Y Lucha, and it’s not like either board is bad (they’re good!), it’s just trying to make the links useful for anyone who might click on them.

ESPNDeportes writes about Vampiro’s work with the Guardian Angels

In Colima, local wrestler Angel Star is now sponsored by the government as Literato, who encourages children to read (by bringing books to the ring, apparently.)

Ohtani’s Jacket watches
* Negro Navarro & the Killer Family vs Angel Azteca Jr., Brazo de Platino, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Shu el Guerrero from AULL 11/06
* Space Cadets versus Exoticos from 1984 UWA
* Blue Panther & Sergio el Hermoso vs Solar & Super Astro from 1987

Roberto Acosta posted. Also, Guerreros del Ring covers for 169, 170, and 171.

AAA says the next taping is 01/18 in Guanajuato. The Observer previously had 01/17, but I believe that’s just a show for a retiring referee that happens to be packed.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update

11/02: IWRG, NWA Mexico, Damian, links, lineups

IWRG (FRI) 10/31 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLuchas #288, Al Filo del Ring]
1) Super Halcon Jr. b Soldado del Diablo
2) Eragon, Fenix, Miss Gaviota b Avisman, King Drako, Nemesis IWRG

4) Arlequin, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Veneno b Jack, Latino, Multifacético
5) Cerebro Negro & Dr. Cerebro b Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II [hair]

After the Gemelos won in the past with a switch, Cerebro Negro came back in the ring after being eliminated to help beat GFI for the deciding pin.

Latino dislocated his shoulder in the semimain.

NWA MEXICO (SAT) 11/01 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera [superluchas]
1) Fantastico b Eragon [NWA LIGHT, qf]
2) Senki b Angus [NWA LIGHT, qf]
3) Black Thunder b Skayde Jr. [NWA LIGHT, qf]
4) Trauma II b Arcano [NWA LIGHT, qf]
5) Turbo b Alma Infernal [NWA LIGHT, qf]
6) Skayde b Hermano Muerte II [NWA LIGHT, qf, quarterfinal]
7) Trauma II b Fantastic [NWA LIGHT, sf]
8) Turbo b Senki [NWA LIGHT, sf]
9) Skayde b Black Thunder [NWA LIGHT, sf]
10) Skayde b Trauma II, Turbo [NWA LIGHT, final]
11) Incógnito & Siniestro b Cien Caras Jr. & Super Parka
12) Negro Navarro b Black Terry [SALVADOR AMERICA]

Skayde is your new/first? NWA (World?) Lightweight Champion. No photo with the belt yet. I think I’m spending my lunch tomorrow putting that tournament in the wiki.

In relevant news, Blue Demon Jr. presented Skayde with the belt and stayed in the ring to talk about having to choose between the title and NWA Mexico presidency. Before he could officially hand over the presidency, he was interrupted by El Dandy, who demanded and will get a mask vs hair match with Demon on 11/15, as well as possible title shot down the line. Dandy and Trauma II tried to attack Demon, but failed.

SuperLuchas has an interview with Damain, who follows Perro Jr.’s lead of being complimentary to CMLL. He’s surpasses that, putting all his ex-Perro teammates over huge (Averno & Mephisto are the best team in CMLL, he’s happy Ephesto is getting a chance, he thinks Terrible belongs on top and Texano Jr. will be as good as his father) but notes he’s always been a guy who goes from group to group so it’s time to make another move. Damian 666 says only the Original Perros are going, and then is acted about Hector Garza, but Damian’s not sure there. It’s not asked, but you surely can add Halloween to the list of Perro promotion members. (Demon?)

Damian repeatedly uses the name “Jauría del Terror” in talking about the new Averno/Mephisto led group, so he may know something CMLL hasn’t got to announcing yet. There’s near infinite ways I can misspell Jauria, so that’ll be fun.

While those guys are going, some long expected returns appear to have firmer dates. Ovaciones reports today that Shocker will be returning soon, and may herald eventual returns by Zumbido and Scorpio Jr. (more about that later.) Toscano is also believed to be brought in December or January, though Ovaciones is not as sure there.

Scorpio Jr. tells Al Filo del Ring plans on returning on November 30th.

WagnerMania has video of this week’s CMLL main event and Stellar Moments.

WagnerMania also alerts me to Box Y Lucha posting articles that are dated from earlier this week, but I am sure I haven’t seen when I got there every day. I need a better way of checking, I think. Anyway…

Marco Corelone is NOT going to AAA. Marco is very definite and believable about hwo much he’s committed to CMLL and honest about how he’s still rooting for his friends even though they’re elsewhere – and this article is still right under one which has Damian saying he’s not leaving CMLL.

Dr. Wagner Jr. now wants no part of the Laguneros, because Blue Panther is a LOSER and Wagner has no time for LOSERS, and also no amount of beating the Villanos is going to get Blue Panther his mask back. Wagner sees UG just using Panther’s loss to get himself over.

Atlantis notes he can’t join the Laguneros, because he hails from the Atlantic Ocean. I love Atlantis. Atlantis is sure there’s no fracture in the Guerreros

Sangre Azteca has absolutely no idea what’s going on with the Guerreros. He hasn’t been teamed with them much lately, so he’s just been focusing on his own career instead. Which hasn’t gone so well, because apparently he went thru a stretch where he didn’t have many bookings because shows kept getting rained out. Do you get paid if the show gets rained out? I’m thinking no, or not as much, because that would explain why try so hard to work thru really bad conditions, and that sounds very awful.

Sangre says he’s made between 15 and 18 Mexican welterweight title defenses (even he doesn’t know how many!). He’s offered up opportunities for any challenger, and he still went four months without a title match. Sangre would love to fight Sombra to win the CMLL version of this title to be world champion. (Sombra actually has the NWA, Mistico has the CMLL.) Sangre vows to keep moving forward, with or without the Guerreros.

If they’re going to do another apuesta match, the Villanos want it to be 3 on 3.

El Grafico (via Vanguradia) has a good interview with Princesa Sujei about her career. She was the only woman training at her school (and only trained a few months before going to the ring), but feels she benefited from training with men.

Al Filo del Ring also has video interviews with Solar and a podcast with Tinieblas

The most interesting thing about Accion is they did start airing WWE highlights in the lucha libre block. They were separated into Lucha Libre WWE, Dr. Morales did not do the announcing, and it was highlights of Rey vs Snitsky from a couple of weeks ago on RAW. I wonder if they’ll be included on weeks where they’re not Rey Jr. highlights. AAA had the cage match for control, which was interesting for Konnan taking a fierce Latin Lover chair shot directly on the head and not getting hands up, and Konnan getting in a low blow on Latin Lover after Sergio threw the drink in. Konnan got pelted with drinks as he got to the top of the cage, that must’ve not been fun. CMLL was Friday’s main event, noteworthy only for Dos Caras’s all silver outfit and the hint of a Niebla/Corelone feud.

Negro & Romero in NJPW – 11/1: Negro Casas & Black Tiger IV (!) lose to Liger and Tiger Mask IV at a non-G1 show. TM4 got Negro for the pin.

Box Y Lucha #2895 has Cibernetico leaving AAA, Fire losing his mask, and Gemelos losing their hair.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update. They may have three more updates at the pace I’m going here.

Lineups

IWRG (FRI) 11/07 Arena Naucalpan
1) Super Halcon Jr. vs Shuriken
2) Eragon & Miss Gaviota vs Avisman & Muerte Negra
3) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Jack vs Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Xibalva
4) Freelance, Latino, Pendulo vs Arlequin, Sauron, Toxico AAA
5) el Hijo del Pierroth, Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 vs Head Hunter I, Toscano, Veneno

At some point, I think I need a better name for him than Toxico (AAA), since he’s not there now. He doesn’t work just Mexico City, but Toxico (DF) might be enough to keep it clear from the Guadalajara one.

CMLL (SUN) 11/09 Arena Coliseo
1) Romano & Sensei vs Camorra & Inquisidor
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Metálico vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Shigeo Okumura, Skandalo
3) Flash, Máximo, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Black Warrior, Heavy Metal, Olímpico vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano V
5) La Máscara, Marco Corelone, Sagrado vs Atlantis, Lizmark Jr., Último Guerrero

Okumura returns to get some revenge on Fabian. Looks like we’re a week or two away from the Coliseo Tag rematch.

IWRG (SUN) 11/09 Arena Naucalpan
1) Halcon 2000 vs Imperio Azteca
2) Eragon, Fenix, Miss Gaviota vs Fantasma de la Ópera, Judas el Traidor, Terror Negro

4) Pendulo vs Black Terry [IWRG IC WELTER]
5) Solar I, Super Astro, Tinieblas Sr. vs Emilio Charles Jr., Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Toscano

Semimain is not listed as a title match, but that’s what they’ve set up here.

CMLL (SUN) 11/09 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Quazar vs Relampago Azul
2) Samurai, Thunder Boy, Virgo vs Azazel, Milenio, Neon
3) Lady Apache, Marcela, Silueta vs Amapola, Atenea, Princesa Sujei
4) Blue Panther & Héctor Garza vs Averno & Mephisto

Note that, FWIW, Garza is booked for next week. Aguila and Damian were too, but Hector did show on Friday. We seem to be a match short here anyway. Dos and Wagner?

There’s also a show on Thursday at Arena Mexico to promote the Incredible Hulk DVD release. SuperLuchas has a coupon for four free tickets, so I suspect this is one with a lot of free tickets given out and the sponsor paying what would be the gate.

07/31: Puebla, Naucalpan, Guadalajara, Leon

CMLL

CMLL (MON) 07/30 Arena Puebla [hugo999]
1) Ares & Toro Bill Jr. b Legionario & the Tiger
2) Blade & Skandalo b Batman & Lestat
3) Flash, Stuka Jr., Super Nova b Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
4) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila b La Sombra, Sagrado, Volador
5) Atlantis, Averno, Ultimo Guerrero b Blue Panther, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero
6) Mistico b Dr. Wagner Jr.

Reverse of Friday’s match – Ultimo interfered again, but this time attacking Mistico while the ref and Wagner were distracted, so Wagner got the free pin. Correction: Wagner got laid out by Ultimo, much like Friday. Ultimo and Atlantis celebrated being evil, and Negro and Rey ran them off post match.

I think Ultimo screwing over Wagner really should’ve been the finish on Friday, but maybe they’ll make it work in the long run.

IWRG (SUN) 07/29 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Samba b Comando Gama
2) Macho II & Puma King b Golem & Tortugillo Ninja
3) Halcon Salvaje, Kid Tiger, Star Boy DQ Capitan Muerte, Cyborg, Xibalva
4) Black Terry, Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. b Marco Rivera, Tony Rivera, Veneno
5) Alex Koslov, Cerebro Negro, Negro Navarro, Ultraman Jr. b Hijo del Cien Caras, Kai, Misterioso II, Yamato

Cerebro Negro pinned Yamato, which is setting up something for next week. In the tercera, the rudos would not stop beating on Halcon Salvaje, so the DQ. Halcon and Cyborg are headed to a hair match.

IWRG (SUN) 08/05 Arena Naucalpan
1) Tortuguillo Ninja vs Comando Gama
2) Halcon Salvaje & Samba vs Macho II & Rockero del Diablo
3) Centauro, Freelance, Kid Tiger vs Captian Muerte, Hijo del Diablo, Xibalba
4) Alex Koslov, Negro Navarro, Ultraman Jr. vs Black Terry, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Nitro
5) Yamato vs Cerebro Negro [Rey del Ring]

Yes, apparently you can defend the Rey del Ring title this year. IWRG really needed another belt to be defended.

CMLL (SUN) 07/29 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Mayu]
3) Infierno, Malefico, Rey Lobo b Leon Blanco, Magnum, Metal Blanco
4) Cien Caras Jr., Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 b Máximo, Rayman, Vampiro
5) Lizmark Jr., Terrible, Texano Jr. b Dos Caras Jr., Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr.

Metal Blanco may have got hurt in his match; it was a quick finish.

1) Coco Viper, Memo Valles, Tacua b Gitano, La Sombra, Silver Star
2) Bengali, Cats, Raiden b Mongol Chino Jr., Rey Hechicero, Tigre Univeristario
3) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Silver King b Hector Garza & Ultimo Guerrero

CMLL (SUN) 08/05 Gimnasio Nuevo Leon [RFC]
1) Mongol Chino Jr., Rey Hechicero, Tiger Universitario vs Gitano, La Sombra, Silver Star [captains mask]
2) Ephesto & Ultimo Guerrero vs Felino & Negro Casas

LUM (SAT) 08/04 Parque Tolteca [GABRIEL MARTINEZ O @ LMDLL]
1) Venum & Vudu vs Dranser & Scravos

I think you can go edit that one into the wiki.

AULL (FRI) 08/03 Arena Lopez Mateos [Brina
1) La Rebelde & Yezka vs Diosa Maya & Princesa Zareth
2) Luna Magica, Princesa Blanca, Sahori vs La Briosa, La Nazi, Rosa Negra
3) Lady Apache vs Marcela vs Hiroka
4) Dark Angel vs Amapola vs Mima Shimoda vs India Sioux

Four ways and three ways for absolutely no reason! This is indy.

Perro Aguayo Jr. is interviewed in Ovaciones, complaining about Wagner stealing his groups gig of being neither tecnico or nor rudo. He expects to be the center of the promotion upon his return and to get Mistico’s match shortly.

AAA hypes the 08/03 taping as the return of the Intocable.

SuperLuchas #223 has Wagner humiliating Mistico.

The magazine FAMA has a special lucha libre issue.
