Reyes del Atlantida win trios titles back, Bufete del Amor keep theirs, CMLL minis cage match

CMLL (MON) 10/29 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Ares & Centauro de Fuego b Dinámikoo & Tigre Rojo Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, early falls went very quick.
2) Höruz b Cholo [lightning]
Cholo dominated the match, but Horuz pulled it out with an armbar.
3) Asturiano, Metálico, Molotov vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Espiritu Maligno
Tecnicos took 2/3. Molotov submitted Espiritu, Metalico pinned Disturbio.
4) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela b Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany
Tecnicas took 1/3.
5) Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Tama Tonga b Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Hijo del Fantasma
Rudos took 2/3. Tonga beat Maya to win in his debut and the best match of the night Maya had to be strechered out. Delta tried to help with that, but Tonga attacked him too.
6) Atlantis, La Máscara, Mistico DQ Averno, Felino, Mephisto
Felino replaced Ephesto. Mascara pinned Averno in the first, then Mephisto pulled Mistico’s mask in the second in a disappointing match. Mistico challenged Mephisto a singles match.

Was Ephesto hurt on Sunday and I’ve forgot about it?

CMLL (TUE) 10/30/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Metatrón b Exterminador
2) Pequeño Warrior b Shockercito and Aereo and Pequeño Halcón and Astral and Último Dragoncito and Fantasy and Demus 3:16 and Pierrothito and Mercurio and Pequeño Olímpico and Pequeño Violencia [Mini Reyes del Aire]
Pequeno Warrior won the match, which set up a cage match next week! Shockercito may have been hurt on a dive.
3) La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada b Kráneo, Olímpico, Psicosis
4) Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush b Averno, Mephisto, Tama Tonga [CMLL TRIOS]
Tama Tonga replaced Ephesto. Love Buffet came in as champs, and took falls 2/3 to keep the titles. Last week’s match was Maximo vs Averno, and this week Maximo kissed and cradled Averno to keep the titles.

Results were from radio station Canal58, which appears to be doing live PBP of Tuesday and Sunday Guadalajara shows. Satanico joined the commentators a couple times.

CMLL (TUE) 10/30/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, CMLL Gaceta]
1) Akuma & Camorra DQ Freesbe & Oro Jr.
Camorra fouled Freesbe
2) Artillero, Hooligan, Súper Comando b Camaleón, Pegasso, Sensei
Camaleon replaced Angel Azteca Jr. Isis was with Hooligan. Rudos took 1/3. Sensei was strechered out with a knee injury and Pegasso was hurting (as usual.)
3) Fuego, Sagrado, Triton b Arkángel de la Muerte, Cancerbero, Raziel
Tecnicos won in straight falls when Arkangel and the Cancerberos turned on each other.
4) Rey Cometa b Sangre Azteca [lightning]
Cometa won with a 450 splash in 8:10.
5) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero b Diamante Azul, Mistico, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took 2/3, Euforia & Niebla getting the pins while Mistico dove onto Mistico.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Black Warrior, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr. [MEX TRIOS]
Volador, Mr. Aguila, and Black Warrior came in as champs. Delta & Maya took 1, Volador took the second with a backcracker on Atlantis, and Atlantis won the match with an Atlantida on Volador (again!) Reyes del Atlantida are champions as a team for a third time, Atlantis has won the titles three times.

Shocker & Brazo de Plata beat Terrible & Dragon Rojo in Arena Queretaro. In the undercard, Amapola (replacing Tiffany) was beat by local luchador Reyna Azteca in a tag match. The Quereatro wrestler challenged for a title match.

The semi-official Noti AAA Facebook site confirmed Decnnis was leaving AAA, then took down that post, put up another post saying all the rumored people leaving AAA (Tiger, Wagner) were not true. That’s totally not confusing. In the comments of the last post, they say Wagner is joining going back to being an independent who works with AAA. (The difference there is if AAA controls his booking for non TV shows and what cut they need; someone the level of Wagner doesn’t need AAA for that.) As for Extreme Tiger, he’s scheduled to work tonight’s Halloween show in Arena Lopez Mateos, which would be an easy time for him to confirm or deny rumors.

Arena Neza’s Facebook writes Vampiro will miss this weekend’s AAA Fusion taping. Vampiro’s said the same, going on to say he’s busy with another show and AAA never told him he was on this show. Same thing happened last time Vampiro missed a taping. Mesias will take his place, which greatly improves the match. AAA hasn’t acknowledged the change yet.

Quien Pinta Por La Corona held a press conference in Guadalajara for the event there on 11/10 and 11/11. QPPLC also posted profiles of some of the finalists: Rey Maya (nephew of Canek!), Forajido (inspired by Cibernetico and Gronda), Full Back Jr. (snuck off to train with Canek), Demoledor (36 years old), and New Fire Jr.

Samuray del Sol was on Figure Four Daily yesterday (subscriber only) in a really good interview where he talked a lot about his career. His story about being in last year’s QPPLC contest was my favorite part. Samuray never actually signed up for the contest himself, Crazy Boy just invited him to come to Veracruz, then signed Samuray up without him knowing to get Samuray in front of AAA people. Samuray was under the impression the talent contest – at least by the final – was set up for Daga to win, saying AAA officials wanted him specifically to work with Daga since he could do the style Daga likes to do and Daga would look like a star.

Rob has highlights of 04/13/12 CMLL and has updated his MOTYC list.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lucha Libre in Japan

Fabi Apache, Sexi Star, Lolita and Jennifer Blake are headed to WAVE for their AAA Reina de Reinas on 11/27. The Japanese promotion had previously announced the show, this is the first time the Mexican promotion has acknowledged it. The article is mostly talking about Fabi Apache’s training and previous time in Japan. WAVE also mentions Pimpinela and Fenix working on the show in a bonus match with CIMA, which hasn’t yet been announced by AAA.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 11/06/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Sky Kid & Virgo vs Èvola & Thunder Boy
2) Esfinge & Gallo vs Bárbaro Cavernario & Espectrum
3) La Máscara, La Sombra, Mistico vs Felino, Psicosis, Rey Escorpión
4) Shockercito vs Último Dragoncito, Pequeño Halcón, Aereo, Astral, Fantasy, Pierrothito, Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pequeño Violencia [cage, hair, mask]

Cage match, just not at all the one I thought. Warrior winning the Reyes del Aire means he’s a favorite to lose here.

Mexico results, next week’s lineups

CMLL (FRI) 07/10 Arena Mexico [SuperLuchas, ESTO, Ovaciones]
1) Metalico & Tigre BlancoCaligula & Messala
2) Dr. X, Hooligan, SkandaloAngel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Astro Boy
3) Mascara Dorada, Maximo, ValienteMisterioso II, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
4) La MascaraEphesto [lightning]
5) Black Warrior, Naito, YujiroHector Garza, Sagrado, Toscano
6) Mistico, Shocker, Volador Jr.Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Ultimo Guerrero

Volador got Negro with a guillotine legdrop and Mistico got Niebla with La Mistica for win. ESTO points out, the last three weeks, the tecnicos (Volador & Mistico all 3 weeks, Shocker replacing Sombra this week) have a perfect record in the main event.

In the semimain, Naito fouled Garza, with Yujiro covering for the win.  Black Warrior revealed a previously unknown ability to translate Japanese and challenged Hector Garza to a hair match on behalf of – well, some say Yujiro, and Naito.  CMLL says Yujiro, so we’ll go with that. Anyway, all three rudos were cornering Garza before Toscano came back and made his own challenge to Black Warrior. Warrior told Garza not to trust Toscano, since he’s turned rudo before. Nothing was agreed to, but they’ll have a rematch next week.

Mascara beat Epehsto clean. The tercera was said to be the best match of the night, though no tease of a hair match in this one. There were a few comments about Astro Boy looking particularly good in his match. Vicky Palacios made an another appearance to give out calendars, again. Calendar’s in July are quite something.

Ovaciones also has a side note on Dos and Psicodelico in FCW, mentioning who they faced, but conventionally neglecting to mention how they fared. I guess Ovaciones loves WWE again?

While in Gomez Palacio, Ultimo Guerrero was honored for reaching 20 years in wrestling.

AAA notes Decnnis & Billy Boy back together as a team and discussed Tito Santana‘s background.

The Gladiatores talked to Juvi and Fuerza about their IWRG invasion.

People are working on a documentary and book about Solar.

LuchaWorld has Robert on CMLL 05/17/08,  C3 05/17/08, and AAA TV 05/19/08.

indy (SAT) 07/11 Gimnasio el Ranchero de Gomez Palacio [El Siglo de Torreon]
1) El Astro vs Camorra Jr.
2) Monarca & Rey Dragon vs Demonio Negro & Morbo
3) Principe Halcon Jr. & Rey Fobia vs Brillante & Halcon Suriano Jr.
4) Moro Jr. vs Cadete de la AtlantidaVikingoGalaxyZaracatan Jr.Super Punk [name]

The winner of the main event gets to be the new Diamante Negro. Dragon Rojo Jr. is going to be bummed out when he hears that.

CMLL (TUE) 07/14 Arena Mexico
1) Cholo & Ramstein vs Bengala & Trueno
2) Pequeno Nitro, Pequeno Violencia, Pequeno Warrior vs Bracito de Oro, Electrico, Fantasy
3) Angel Azteca Jr., Angel de Oro, Angel de Plata vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
4) Atlantis, Felino, Negro Casas vs La Sombra, Stuka Jr., Volador Jr.
5) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Hector Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara [CMLL TRIOS]

They did end up pulling a switch on the challengers for these trios titles. This one could go either way.

That’s Pequeno Nitro’s debut. In his Ras de Lona appearance, he struck me as more a kid instead of an actual mini, but I’m never good in figuring that out.

CMLL (FRI) 07/17 Arena Mexico
1) Puma King & Tiger Kid vs Molotov & Starman
2) Dr. X, Nosferatu, Skandalo vs Leono, Pegasso, Rey Cometa
3) Mascarita Dorada vs Pequeno Warrior [lightning]
4) Mascara Dorada, Metro, Sagrado vs Euforia, Misterioso II, Virus
5) Black Warrior, Naito, Yujiro vs Blue Panther, Maximo, Toscano
6) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker vs Averno, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Well, not so much a rematch in the semimain, though I guess this clinches they’re doing something with Toscano in here. Without La Mascara, the lightning match slips back down to third spot.

CMLL (SUN) 07/19 Arena Coliseo
1) Artillero & Super Comando vs Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II
2) Bronco, Inquisidor, Polvora vs Horus, Metalico, Tigre Blanco
3) La Nazi, La Seductora, Princesa Blanca vs Estrella Magica, Lluvia, Sahori
4) Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Valiente vs Heavy Metal, Lizmark Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Hector Garza, Mistico, Toscano vs Atlantis, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Edit: Location corrected.

No sign of either Shocker or UG, so either they’re being added later in a title match, or they’re just dropping that feud after this week.

04/16: Perros, Warrior, Box Y Lucha

Box Y Lucha #961
Box Y Lucha #961

PERROS (SAT) 04/11 Plaza de Toros Silverio Perez Feria del Caballeo, Texcoco [La WagnerMania]
1) Mr. Aguilita & Pequeño Halloween b Cosmico & local
2) Intocable & Super Porky DQ Halloween & Olimpico
3) Super Crazy b Mr. Aguila
4) Blue Demon Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., La Park b Cibernetico, Damian 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

Tecnicos took it in two falls with Cibernetico and Perro falling apart. Porky replaced Juvi, a local wrestler worked in place of Shockercito.

(Reforma) Black Warrior explains his suspension. Sort of. Warrior says some unnamed colleagues got him in trouble with management, and he was punished for it. No explanation of what he was specifically in trouble for. Everything is settled with management, though he’s clearly angry with whoever got him in trouble.

Ovaciones previews tomorrow’s Puebla card, and the Kato Kung Lee benefit show.

Box Y Lucha posted a lot of links:
Dos Caras Jr. says he was sick of Hector Garza being a screw-up who keeps hitting his partner – that’s what got him kicked out of the Perros, Dos reminds us – and wasn’t happy that the fans seemed to side with Garza instead of him, so action had to be taken. Anyone who sides with Garza is against Dos, which is why Mascara had to be beat up as well. Dos is not interested in joining Hijo de Avernos: “I’m infinitely better than them.”
Mascara Dorada is happy to win his first title, hopes to have a mask vs mask match with Polvora next.
Espectro de Ultratumba and Picudo talk about leaving AAA. Picudo’s talks mostly about moving out, but Espectro is angry about not getting a chance in AAA. Apparently, there was a 20 person tryout to determine the new Espectro and this one was picked by Picudo, Silver Cat and Dorian, but AAA just wouldn’t give him any work or any time on TV.
– A look back at Chabela Romero’s career.
Mephisto – or more Mephisto’s personal trainer – talks about his new diet/workout plan to cut fat and gain muscle.
Villano III talks about how people watching lucha libre (on TV) is going to end people watching lucha libre (at all.)

Box Y Lucha also added editions 865 to 965 to it’s cover libary. It’d be cool if they put up the insides one day.

AAA talked to Dr. Wagner, who wants to face Mesias to determine the real champ. That finish is still going to be a challenge.

Reading some back and forth in Notiver and elsewhere the last few days, it sounds like the Veracruz Fraterindad 2000 group is not much of a fraternity right now, with a group of wrestlers leaving and talking about forming their own promotion (over what percentage of the revenue they should be getting.)

DTU has a Generico promo

Kcidis has a cartoon of Los Traumas and Negro Navarro, plus how it was made.

7) Hector Garza & Shocker vs Atlantis & Mr. Niebla

03/15: Juvi, Warrior, Axxel, Lineups

(This news update is surely the most out of date before it’s published. At least partial Rey de Reyes results up next.)

COMING: Box Y Lucha is reporting Juvi has return to AAA, after a seven month absence. (He has already shown up, and I’ll get to it in a bit.)

GOING?: A Reforma article says Black Warrior is suspended indefinitely for no-showing events. Yet again – Reforma counts this as the fourth time, which sounds about right. Article notes Sangre Azteca and Dragon Rojo have no idea what this means for Poder Mexica.

GONE: Super Luchas #306 includes an interview with Axel, who confirms he’s done in CMLL. He’s sent in his resignation, but they just haven’t booked him since he appeared on the GDL Lucha Libre Festival (running against a CMLL show that night.) Axel explains that as having had permission to continue his indepedent schedule and having booked that date before signing with CMLL. In usual CMLL fashion, Axxel’s heard absolutely nothing from the company since that date. He also feels he was featured less after refusing to sign an agreement to give CMLL full rights over his name and identity (to the point where they could give it someone else someday – I would presume that’s standard for all the guys who are currently with CMLL full time.)

AAA’s website is promising an interview with Cibernetico about being booked on the US swing, since AAA’s office is not explaining it. AAA’s website talking to wrestlers, what a crazy idea. Meanwhile, they worry Abismo Negro might be distracted from winning Rey de Reyes by his feud with Black Abyss. Seeing as that happened last year, it’s a good bet.

ESTO previews Rey de Reyes, pegging Silver King as the favorite for Rey de Reyes, with Latin Lover, La Parka and Black Abyss strong candidates. Ovaciones also has a preview (and not another one of the GDL card) as well as the CMLL and IWRG ones.

Early reports out of Guadalajara say Chivas/Atlas was well out drawing Rey de Reyes early. I can only imagine how Coliseo is doing. There’s also a preview of both shows.

WagnerMania posts video of Charly Manson on Tercera Caida

A column in Box Y Lucha disputes the notion that flying lucha libre is a new thing.

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 03/19 Arena Naucalpan

4) Chico Che, Fantastik, Multifacetico vs Arlequin, Black Terry, Pierroth II
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Fuerza Guerrera, Zatura vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Oficial 911

Reps from NWA Mexico, UWE and Wagner here. Wish it was an ongong thing, but at least this show gives us Turbo working higher than Skayde for once. Pierroth’s are getting a big push here leading up to the Pierroth benefit show, I think.

GROON (SAT) 03/21 Arena Azteca Budokan
1) Rey Neza vs TOny Cirio, Maquina de la Muerte, Skyderman, Potro de Plata, Galactico, Demente, Espiral Negro, Pilio, Caballero Bus

5) Bobby Lee Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Scorpio Jr. vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Universo 2000

Zatura and Bushi still seemed tied up, so their feud is probably ongoing.

CMLL (SUN) 03/22 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Acertijo & Mr. Trueno vs Katana & Malefico [Torneo Tanque Dantes]
2) Palacio Negro & Samuari vs Angel del Mal & Infierno [Torneo Tanque Dantes]

4) Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Valiente vs Felino, Satanico, Virus
5) Averno, Mephisto, Texano Jr. vs Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero

Yay, the right teams. Also, Felino, Satnaico and Virus are apparently the magical Dorada Carrying Trio.

IWRG (SUN) 03/22 Arena Naucalpan
1) Galactik & Halcon 2000 vs Comando Negro & Epidemia
2) Mascara MAgnifica & Miss Gaviota vs Africa Salvaje & Sangre Africana
3) Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Pendulo vs Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Mixteco Jr.
4) Multifacetico, Ultraman Jr., Zatura vs Andy Barrow, Arlequin, Black Terry
5) Bobby Lee Jr., Fantasma Jr., Scorpio Jr. vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Pierroth II, Universo 2000

I like that second match, just to help IWRG pump up the unique wrestler count again.

CMLL (SUN) 03/22 Arena Coliseo
1) Molotov & Sensei vs Caligula & Messala
2) Bam Bam, Saturno, Ultimo Dragoncito vs Pequeno Violencia, Pequeno Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Rosa Negra
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, La Sombra vs Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Marco Corleone, Mistico, Shocker vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Neither mask man here, but Negro and Mistico rematch.

Saturno? There’s a guy last year in Guadalajara and Monterrey with that name. Probably not the same guy! (Probably the GDL guy.)

03/11: Monterrey, Mexico

AAA (SUN) 03/08 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Iron Xtreme b Rey Dragon
2) Aguila Azteca & Relampago Azul b Epidemius & Invasor
3) Rio Bravo, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana II b Aguila Extrema, Guerrero Blanco, RDN
4) Ejecutor & Mr. Secuestro b La Momia & Virtual X [AAA NORTH TAG]
5) Hombre sin Miedo, May Flowers, Pimpinela Escarlata b Decnnis, el Brazo, Escorpion Negro Jr.

New AAA North tag champs.

CMLL (TUE) 03/10 Arena Mexico [ESTO]

5) Hector GarzaHijo del FantasmaVolador Jr. b Lizmark Jr.Mr. NieblaRey Bucanero

Rey Bucanero replaced Black Warrior. Something’s obviously up with Warrior, at a bad time.

Ovaciones skips coverage of this show for an interview with Ultimo Guerrero about next Friday’s match. Need to figure out if EstadioW is still doing broadcasts of the show, now that I think about it. Not a lot new in the interview.

Episode #36 of Ras de Lona has highlights of the minis cage match.

ESPN Deportes previews Rey de Reyes, though with the old lineup. LuchandoLibre looks next month’s Pierroth tribute show.

El Sol de Hidalgo profiles local DTU wrestler Drastick Boy

WrestlingObserver has their AAA Recap.

LuchaWorld has Robert on Arena Coliseo Monterrey 04/13/03 and GdR 11/10, GdR 11/17 and FSE 11/18.

03/10: Juarez, notes

AAA (SUN) 03/08 Ciudad Juarez [albert cerda]
1) Astro Boy (Juarez), Rey Halcon, Stigma b Espectro III, Hannibal, Hermes Jr.
2) Chucky, La Perucha, Samurai b el Tirburon, Rafaga, Romano
3) Mascarita Sagrada 2007 & Octagoncito b Mini Abismo Negro & Mini Histeria
4) Laredo Kid & Super Fly b Jack Evans & Teddy Hart
5) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz
6) Vampiro NC Mesias

Vampiro & Mesias talked about how great each other guy was and how they’re friends now but they’re being forced to fight here. Then they had a street fight around the building, and everyone else ran in for the NC. And then Vampiro and Mesais talked about how great each other was. Next big show in Juarez is 03/22: Perro Jr. vs Santo vs Cibernetico, and Olimpico/Super Crazy vs Halloween/Damian 666.

Ovaciones has a big story on a Dos Leyendas change: Black Warrior out, Misterioso II in. No champions vs champions match for sure. Ovaciones isn’t quite sure why there’s the Sub. Warrior’s scheduled to work tonight in Arena Mexico.

AAA notes Mini Charly Manson & Mini Chessman fell apart as a team at a spot show on 03/06 and challenged each other to title and hair matches. And they’ll probably still be teaming tomorrow, but they act like one of those matches may actually happened.

AAA also says they’re running Arena Lopez Mateos on the 4/4 with Wagner & Silver King vs Zorro & Konnan. Wagner repeats to Al Filo del Ring this doesn’t mean he’s going to AAA full time (regardless of Luchas 2000 cover implies.)

TelevisaDeportes says Mima Shimoda is headed back to Japan until 04/02.

Al Filo del Ring also has interviews with Intocable & Zumbido about their hair match 10 days from now and Cibernetico about not going back to AAA.

Celebrating the International Day Of Women, Dos de Tres looks back at the history of women’s wrestling. Al Filo del Ring has an interview with Cinthia Moreno, who makes the saliant point: “Women get one day? Women should get EVERY day.”

CMLL must’ve belatedly put out a press release about the show airing in Spain, because it got picked up in Televisa Deportes and Ovaciones.

LuchandoLibre previews next Saturday’s Gronda benefit show

Box Y Lucha lists a show on 03/15 with Messala putting his mask against whatever title Cuchillo has (it’s not listed.)
