12/22 (1): Puebla, Monterrey, Coliseo, IWRG, bye bye Ciber

I’m splitting this right down the middle for sanity sake. (And so I can take a 15 minute break before typing up lineups.)

CMLL (MON) 12/15 Arena Puebla [eric0891 @ el martinete]
1) Centella de Oro & Legionario b Karisma & Sauron
2) Asturiano, Hijo del Faraon, Pegasso Xtreme b Policeman, Semental, Toro Bill Jr.
3) Mascarita Dorada, Pequeño Olímpico, Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Violencia, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Blue Panther, Mictlán, Valiente b Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero b Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone, Shocker

and that’s how we get to today’s title match, of course.

CMLL (THU) 12/18 Arena Monterrey [RFC]
1) Angel Dorado Jr., Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura b Arkangel de la Muerte, Dragon Rojo Jr., Virus
2) Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Terrible b La Mascara, Mark Corleone, Maximo
3) Diluvio Negro II L Blue Panther and Tiger Universitario [hair]
4) La Sombra, Mr. Niebla, Valiente b Difunto II, Diluvio Negro I, Último Guerrero [semifinal]
5) Averno, Misterioso II, Volador Jr. b Místico, Rey Hechicero, Sangre Azteca [semifinal]
6) Último Guerrero b Difunto II [mask]

Let me see if I get this all right (thanks KrisZ)

Main event 12 man mask match took the form of a battle royale to determine four trios teams, with the person who took the pin moving on to a mask match. (No captains, I guess.) That was UG in the first match and Rey Hechicero in the second. However, Rey Hechicero suffered a knee injury (attributed to Misterioso.) I believe what happened is they had a quickie battle royale with the four guys left, with Difunto getting beat by Mistico and dumped into the mask match. Which he lost. No name listed.

Blue Panther took Diluvio Negro II’s hair.

La Mascara and local Angel Dorado Jr. ended up taking Hector Garza and Dos Caras Jr.’s spots. As I’ll get to later, Hector probably had had knee surgery, causing the recent disappearing act. Would it hurt CMLL to actually announce this sort of thing?

CMLL (SUN) 12/21 Arena Coliseo [Ovaciones]
1) Hijo del Faraon & Pegasso b Camorra & Semental
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera b Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Loco Max
3) Mascarita Dorada, Nino de Acero, Shockercito b Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Mascara Dorada, Máximo, Sagrado DQ Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca, Skandalo
5) Mephisto, Terrible, Texano Jr. b Marco Corleone, Shocker, Toscano

By everyone’s estimation, Dorada, Pierrothito and the minis stole the show. Focus was on Dorada vs Pierrothito, with Dorada picking up the pin (though it may be disputed.) Dorada wants a shot at the Lightweight Title, Pierrothito wants a mask match (ha! you know, I think they could main event with that…) but they’re getting a trios rematch next week. Considering how long it took for Nosferatu and Infernal to get their rematch, we’ll get a title rematch for this one in March.

Terrible replaced Ephesto, which worked because they seem to be doing a program with him and Marco off Leyenda de Azul. here, Terrible got the pin after grabbing the ropes.

DQ in the semimain was for Dragon Rojo fouling Maximo. Which isn’t very tecnico. Skandalo replaced Black Warrior. Pegasso may be lower than Super Fly is in AAA, but he’s winning.

IWRG (SUN) 12/21 Arena Naucalpan [Ovaciones]
4) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. DQ Head Hunter I & Veneno
5) Arlequin L Oficial 911, Scorpio Jr., Fuerza Guerrera, Tetsuya, Cerebro Negro, Pierroth II, Zumbido, Máscara Año 2000, Multifacético [cage, hair]

Arlequin lost his mask and his hair within 2 months. Indy lucha libre, ain’t it special. 911 gets credit for the win. DQ in the semimain was referee violence, I believe.

CMLL (SUN) 12/21 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [mt 1, MT 2]
4) Mr. Trueno, Rey Trueno, Satánico b Casanova, Gallo, Neutrón
5) Dos Caras Jr., La Máscara, Volador Jr. b Averno, Felino, Negro Casas
6) Místico b Mr. Niebla

Not totally sure of the result of the fourth match. Post match, Gallo again challenged Satanico to a mask vs hair match, and Satanico warned him to be careful what he asked for. That (non-mask/hair) singles match is scheduled for tomorrow and Gallo is so getting pwned. Clean wins in the top two matches.

In other news from the building, they’ll now be following the Mexico City Tuesday/Sunday pattern of really cheap tickets the first Sunday of every month, starting on 01/04. Children tickets are 10 pesos anywhere, adults are 30 pesos in some of the seating. June will be the 50th anniversary celebration for this arena, so maybe another big show will take place then.

AAA (SUN) 12/21 Salon Sagitario [AAA]
1) Fabi Apache & Mari Apache b Cinthia Moreno & Sexy Star
2) Alan Stone & El Elegido b Escoria & Mesias
3) Cibernetico & La Parka Jr. b Konnan & Zorro

AAA’s site bills this as Cibernetico’s farewell. He’s not on the lineups for this week (so far!) AAA never writes about spot shows, make of it what you will.

They said the show had a good turnout, and it looks that way from pictures elsewhere. Mesias and Sexy Star didn’t get along with their partners.

11/03: Coliseo, GDL, IWRG

CMLL
CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 11/02 Arena Coliseo [Ovaciones, CMLL]
1) Sensei & Trueno b Calígula & Méssala
2) Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel, Goddess, India Sioux
3) Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus b Flash, Máscara Púrpura, Stuka Jr.
4) La Máscara, Máximo, Volador Jr. b Averno, Skandalo, Terrible
5) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Marco Corelone b Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla, Rey Bucanero

Warrior replaced Lizmark Jr. Skandalo replaced Heavy Metal. I am shocked these people did not show. Anyway, we ended up with Lagunero on Lagunero in the main event, which seems like it was mostly ignored. Dos got Niebla clean with a press and a powerbomb. Niebla wants a title shot. Maybe he should’ve won then.

After the tercera, the Infernales challenged for a tag title match. Amapola beat Angel with a hand on the ropes.

CMLL (SUN) 11/02 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MT]
3) Valiente b Misterioso II, Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Héctor Garza, Metal Blanco, Sangre Azteca, Dragon Rojo Jr., Güero Loco, Rafaga [cibernetico]
4) La Sombra & Metalik b Olímpico & Último Guerrero [Torneo Corona, final]

They worked the main event as a rematch of the torneo end. Rudos took the first, tecnicos took the second and the third with stereo ‘ranas. Cibernetico came down to Valiente vs Misterioso, and Misterioso was so upset about losing, he put his Occidente Light Heavyweight title on the line next week versus Valiente. Whoever is booking here is awesome; I don’t even care who wins that match, I just need to see it.

IWRG (SUN) 11/02 Arena Naucalpan
1) Epidemia b Halcon 2000
2) Fenix & Miss Gaviota b Avisman & King Drako
3) Eragon, Gemelo Fantastico II, Gemelo Fatastico I b Dr. Cerebro, Heavy Boy, Nemesis IWRG
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro b Aeroman, Freelance, Zatura
5) Fuerza Guerrera, Toxico AAA, Veneno b Black Terry, Capitán Muerte, Xibalba
6) Arlequin L Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Fantasma de la Ópera, Multifacético, el Hijo Del Anibal, Hijo del Cien Caras, Ultramán Jr., Jack, Pendulo, el Hijo del Pierroth [mask, cage]

Order of Escape:
– Pendulo
– Ultraman Jr.
– Jack
– Mulitacetico
– Fantasma de la opera
– Hijo de Anibal
– Cien Caras Jr. (accidentally leaving his cousin behind)
– Arlequin

Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. was pretty well dead from chairshots at this point, so just as Hijo de Pierroth was leaving the cage to win, Arlequin came back in to steal the win for himself. Arlequin pinned MA2K Jr. for a three count, except you can’t win by three counts in IWRG. Mascara recovered to plancha Arlequin, but Arlequin counter him. Mascara recoved to go up agian, Arlequin was all ready to counter him again, and Mascara just climbed out for a win. If I was Arlequin and I lost like that, you’d never see me again.

Arlequin is Manuel Mejia, from Mexico City, 20 years a wrestler. That name doesn’t turn up anything in the wiki, but he’s certainly been around here as someone else.

Fuerza got away with a foul on Terry, and they did a mask/hair challenge after.

SuperLuchas writes about the Hulk DVD special show at Arena Mexico Thursday. Sombra/Euforia should be quite fun. Look at this week, if you will:

Tuesday – monthly Fan Appreciation show with 30 peso tickets everywhere + Panther honored

Skayde, NWA Lightweight Champion (picture via Black Terry Jr.)
Skayde, NWA Lightweight Champion
(photo via Black Terry Jr.)

Thursday – show featuring lots of free tickets
Friday – they want people to pay to see Mistico return

This’ll work GREAT. Which transitions perfect to

Villalobos (SUN) 11/16 Palenque de la Feria, Tlaxcala
1) Mini Scorpio & Mini Zumbido vs Mini Ozzy & Rock Spirit
2) Meteoro, Pegasso Extreme, Rey Cometa vs Bryan, Johnny Boy, Monsther
3) Esther Moreno, Linda Star, Martha Villalobos vs Ayako Hamada, Lady Warrior, Mujer Demente
4) Abismo Negro & Intocable vs Damián 666 & Mr. Águila

Yes, that’s the original Abismo Negro, attempting to work under that name as an indy. You wouldn’t think AAA would go for that, but there’s Intocable working as Intocable. And across the ring – if the Perros are leaving on good terms, why are they leaving before the new promotion is running? Working these dates can’t do much for them. Is Ayako out of AAA? That’d be a shame. I don’t think that Mini Zumbido is Freelance, but who knows.

indy (THU) 11/06 Arena Solidaridad [RFC]
1) Gavilan Negro & Maldito vs Principe Rebelde & Sky
2) Gato Volador, Orientale I, Orientale II vs Bengali, Flecha Azul, Gitano
3) Diluvio Negro I, Diluvio Negro II, Tigre Universitario vs Difunto I, Difunto II, Rey Hechicero
4) Coco Rojo, Coco Verde, Cocolores vs Super Muneco, Super Pinocho, Super Raton
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Intocable, Shocker vs Damián 666, LA Park, Mr. Águila

They’re bringing in all the indy guys fresh from TV they can get, to make up for having no AAA guys.

WagnerMania is once again posting the weekly CMLL highlights from A Ras De Lona.

SoloLuchas teases a Festival of Lucha Libre in Guadalajara next month.

Todos X el Todos is headed back to Spain in Madrid, on November 29 and 30th. I presume this means they’re in London the following week.
