04/02: Abismo Negro, Konnan suspended, GDL

I don’t know which story is the top story today.

– A woman has gone to the press claiming she was Abismo Negro’s secret lover, whom Abismo was going to marry if only for his wife guilting him into staying with her due to her cancer and the children. The Other Woman – América Sánchez – says the stress his wife caused Abismo led him directly to abusing drugs and alcohol. The article is just excerpts from an article in TVyNovelas magazine, coming out soon. In addition, the Cancun promoter suspended for falsely promoting Abismo Negro story got picked up by Notimex, so it’s all over the place now.

– Ovaciones says Konnan has been suspended by the DF Box Y Lucha commissioner for his part of the attack on Juvi. As the national head of the commission, all the other commissions are supposed to uphold this suspension, so Konnan is effectively prohibited from wrestling in Mexico.

AAA’s done an abysmal job handling this situation and Konnan is certainly done some wrong here. However, it feels like everyone coming out of the woodwork to take a shot at Konnan now that he’s given him an opening. There’s been no indication the commission actually talked to Konnan or AAA about their side of the story (with how busy they’ve both been, it seems unlikely), and are just going on Juvi’s side of the story. Jack Evans isn’t mentioned as being suspended, which highlights this as a personal issue about Konnan. People are either fiercely loyal to Konnan or hate him – not even always because of some thing between them, but because of the style of lucha libre he wants to present. There doesn’t seem to be any middle ground, which leads to situations like this.

The silver lining here is Konnan should not be in the ring anyway, because he’s clearly broken down, and not going to get any better. Konnan and AAA really need to take Konnan out of the ring, but if they’re not going to do it, then at least someone else will. That’s assuming the other commissions enforce the suspension, which is no sure thing. Still wouldn’t book Konnan in a match for TripleMania (in Mexico City), but it certainly would be in character for them to challenge/ignore this.

At the same time, Juvi pictures just keep getting more dramatic. Juvi underwent nose surgery on Tuesday, which prevented him from meeting with AAA (not he was getting any response from them.) He can’t talk now, but plans to hold a press conference when he can. Fuerza Guerrera can talk, so he was on Tercera Caida to talk about the attack. Everyone seems to be pointing towards X-Pac as the person who instigated the whole thing.

Meanwhile, Konnan did an interview with a Las Vegas Review-Journal to promote tonight’s TV Taping (we think) in Las Vegas. Besides the usual Konnan bio – Konnan notes the difference between what he does and Al Pacino does is Pacino has a stunt man (couldn’t we get one for Konnan?) – the article says a percentage of merchandise sales are going to Abismo Negro’s family. Which is interesting, because they no one seemed to see a merchandise stand on the first leg of the US Tour. I guess a percentage of zero is still a percentage.

CMLL (TUE) 03/31 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [mt]
5) Metal Blanco & Valiente b Mascara Magica & Satanico
6) Dos Caras Jr., La Mascara, Sagrado b Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca

Dos rolled up Sangre clean for the win. Tecnicos pulled the two fall upset in the semimain, which made Satanico sad/mad.

Atlantis and CMLL announced they’ll be hold the annual kids day show not on April 30th, but a day late as the May 1st Friday Arena Mexico show. Kids get in for 1 peso, and will be treated to a showing of Atlantis’ latest movie. This was all, a little bit strangely, announced as a PAN political party news conference

Ovaciones says CMLL’s Lucha Libre Expo show will include a tribute Satanico and Villano III. Yesterday, Ovaciones had a random two page story about Solar, which highlights his store.

(SuperLuchas) Gigante Warrior was apparently the mystery man for the UWE show earlier this week. Might be the same one for later this week.

Box Y Lucha has a whole bunch of articles from the previous edition, including the Pirata and Porky articles posted earlier
– Konnan rips Intocable as a rip off Latin Lover who’s never done anything except become arrogant.
Black Warrior says he’s not jumping to AAA or leaving CMLL, doesn’t say (and isn’t asked) why he’s not working in Arena Mexico, though he implies it’s just the schedule CMLL has him working at the moment.
Marco Corleone talks about his jump
– Villalobos trainee Grecia says she hopes to die in the ring. See, I would refuse to wrestle anyone who says such a silly thing.
Villano III talks about dealing with missing lugugge and bad flights.

Shocker is now selling his merchandise thru SuperLuchas.

YouTube Shooter Dr. Wagner Jr. is nicer to the commenters on lawagnermania today. WagnerMania also has video of Blue Panther vs Blue Demon Jr. and Stellar Moments from this past week’s CMLL show.

WrestleMania will be on PPV this year in Mexico. While I’m sure this means Justin.TV will be busy, I’m hoping it’s successful enough to encourage other companies to follow it. The story has always been not enough people in Mexico have PPV capabilities to make this work; this article says 600K will have access thru Cablevision (and no mention of SKY.)

The Tijuana lucha commission and sports authorities are sponsoring a series of low cost, small scale shows around Tijuana, with the idea to provide people something to do to avoid the gang violence. There will be weekly shows starting on April 12, culminating with a major show in the Auditorio on May 24.

The Gladiatores remembers Eddy Lopez and Dinamico I.

Los Campeones de la Lucha Libre will air as part of an Atlanta film festival on 04/21 and 04/22. (Thanks to RL)

Generico talks to DTU about wrestling for them at the Lucha Libre Expo.

El Sol de San Fernando has a longer version of the lucha libre against domestic violence show from a couple days ago.

Ohtani’s Jacket enjoyed Black Tiger, Blue Center, Tigre Rojo vs Espiritu Maligno, Mr. Rafaga, Toro Bill Sr. from 03/02 Puebla. Between OJ and an actual new DVDVR, I believe I will be the last person in the world to watch that match.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 10/18/07 AAA, and 10/26/07 AAA, plus KrisZ’s news update.

03/29: AAA US, lineups

AAA Marquez (FRI) 03/27 Save Mart Center, Fresno, CA [f4wonline]
1) Decnnis & Mini Abismo Negro b Mascarita Sagrada 2007 & Pimpinela Escarlata
2) Jack Evans & Joe Lider b Crazy Boy & Super Fly
3) Vampiro b Silver King
4) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Rocky Romero, La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid
5) Charly Manson, Cibernetico, Mesias b Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

Show opened with a video tribute to Abismo Negro (as did the next one.) Silver King took Chessman’s spot, facing Vampiro (with Jack and Konnan interfering and Hijo de Tirantes working as a rudo) while Rocky Romero replaced Abismo and lost to the Clowns.

Parka got fouled, pinned. Jack pinned Super Fly after a 630 and his feet on the ropes.

AAA Marquez (SAT) 03/28 Arco Arena, Sacramento, CA [f4wonline]
1) Decnnis & Mini Abismo Negro b Mascarita Sagrada 2007 & Pimpinela Escarlata
2) Crazy Boy & Súper Fly b Jack Evans & Joe Lider
3) Vampiro b Silver King
4) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Chessman, La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid
5) Charly Manson, Cibernetico, Mesias b Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz

Same results the previous night in Fresno, except for the tag match, which the tecnicos won. I would presume Chessman (replacing Abismo on this show) turned on his partners.

AAA’s show this week in Mexico (3 weeks from now in the US) opened up with a half hour tribute to Abismo Negro, replacing his first round match from Rey de Reyes.

AAA has announced one match for the 04/20 taping in Neza: Alan Stone vs Scoria in the cruiserweight tournament. That’s a tough one to guess; probably more dependent on what they need for other matches. They’ve also posted classic pictures from the 80s and 90s.

Psicosis (II) talks about most luchadors having non-lucha jobs, because wrestling doesn’t pay enough. This is really an article to promote a card:

indy (THU) 04/09 Jai Alai de Caletilla, Acapulco [La Jornada]
1) American Tiger vs King Panther
2) Histeria, Psicosis II, X-Fly vs Juventud Guerrera, Kunamy, Super Nova

That looks more like an indy lineup than an AAA one. Maybe Psicosis gets to promote his own shows, outside of AAA, but then it’s not just a local gym show with Juvi (who may no longer be on the card) and Super Nova on the card. But you wouldn’t have thought they would have Histeria and Psicosis win on the last taping if they were on the way out. It’s a bit mysterious.

Wagnermania has a video interview from FCW where LA Park challenges Perro Aguayo Jr. to a mask vs hair match.

SuperLuchas #308 has a big feature on Abismo Negro. All of the magazines will probably have something similar. The SuperLuchas profile matches the original idea for the Abismo Negro gimmick was El Juez, a take off of Judge Dredd. There’s also an interview with Juvi, who’s still looking for AAA to take some action against Konnan and Jack Evans, and Fuerza Guerrera, who would be willing to fight either man.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update, Robert on < ahref=http://www.luchaworld.com/?p=1115>Arena Solidaridad 04/08 and 04/22 and CMLL 10/20/07, and Alfredo on this weekens’s AAA TV episode.

3) Canek Jr., Hijo del Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Mascara Sagrada vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Huracan Ramirez, Pierroth II

Pierroth tribute shows.

UWE (SAT) 04/04 Plaza de Toros el Cortijo
1) Danny Boy & La Flecha (Skayde) vs Rocky Santana & Romano Garica
2) Black Shadow Jr., Huracan Jr., Matematico Jr. vs Azabache Negro, Rey Cobra, Sismo
3) Solar I, Super Astro, Ultraman vs Black Power, el Signo, Negro Navarro
4) Canek, Dos Caras Sr., Mil Mascaras vs ?, Dr. Wagner Jr., Scorpio Jr.

One of two UWE shows, with Canek scheduled to face a man from his past (this time for sure.)

IWRG (SAT) 04/04 Arena Xochimilco
1) Latin Brother vs Comando Negro
2) Eragon & Miss Gaviota vs Carta Brava Jr. & Vampiro Metalico
3) Chico Che, Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II vs Fantasma de la Opera, Hijo del Signo, Mixteco Jr.
4) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
5) Freelance, Fuerza Guerrera, Super Porky vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Oficial 911

I hope the semimain is a title feud.

CMLL (SUN) 04/05 Arena Coliseo
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II vs Caligula & Messala
2) Leono, Metalico, Tigre Blanco vs Bronco III, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sujei, Rosa Negra vs Lluvia, Marcela, Sahori
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, Mascara Dorada vs Ephesto, Felino, Lizmark Jr.
5) Blue Panther, Hector Garza, Shocker vs Averno, Mephisto, Ray Mendoza Jr.

(former) TIGER, TIGER, LION VS PUMA, TIGER, HORSE! I approve of this segunda!

Theoriticallly, Lluvia or Princesa Sujei could be wrestling unmasked for the first time here.

IWRG (SUN) 04/05 Arena Naucalpan
1) Azuka & Goleador vs Black Thunder & Mixteco Jr.
2) Freelance, Multifacetico, Turbo vs Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro
3) Trauma I & Trauma II vs Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II
4) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro vs Hijo de Pierroth (IWRG), Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Tetsuya Bushi

Traumas vs Gemelos would be a tecnico/tecnico match, unless something is going down this weekend.

indy (FRI) 05/01 Coliseo Centenario de Torreon [El Siglo de Torreon]
1) Olimpico vs Damian 666, Intocable, Super Crazy, X-Fly, Mr. Aguila [mask, hair, cage]
2) Dr. Wagner Jr. vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Cibernetico

X-Fly’s hair will be grown back by then (unless he loses it again before then.) Cage may be electrified.

about Abismo Negro’s death

Gawker asks “Did Steroid Panic Kill Ex-WWE Wrestler?” Well, yes, probably, but why are we talking about Chris Benoit?

The article actually turned out to be about Abismo Negro (Abismo working in WWE – and apparently as Maniaco when Maniaco was Abismo Negro; AAA is confusing, ask Dr. Lucha) and not only pushes the steroids idea and the drug violence. It’s tough rule out anything with what’s being made public here, but both seem unlikely at this point

I only bring this up because Dave wrote a detailed story – explanation? educated guess? it’s just stated as is – about Abismo’s death. Might have this out there if everything else is going to be guessed:

Abismo Negro’s last match was not Rey de Reyes on 3/14 in Guadalajara, but a house show on 3/16 in Mazatlan. He was described as despondent at the show, complaining, even though he had just returned, that he wasn’t being used well enough or paid well enough. Others felt he was lucky that he was even taken back after all the no- shows and drug problems. He wasn’t booked on another show for a few days, so he stayed in Mazatlan and went on a cocaine binge, and ended up no-showing the cards on 3/20 and 3/21, and then, apparently having run out of cash, he took a bus back home to Mexico City on 3/22 instead of going to Monterrey, where he was booked. The current belief is he suffered a heart attack, collapsed, and fell into the river where he drowned.

It is not news that Abismo Negro had a cocaine addiction, and it’s not a surprise it led to his death (just that end result was heart attack/drowning instead of the more conventional overdose.) AAA was not surprised he died a drug related death, just that he died one that particular day.

AAA’s spoken their condolences to Abismo’s family and honoring his professional career by not using his name again. What they haven’t said yet is how they’ll work to prevent this happening again. If Abismo Negro was the only one abusing drugs as he did, AAA wouldn’t have allowed it to continue. That he got away with it, and kept coming back despite continual problems with it, indicates it’s common enough in AAA where everyone’s allowed to do whatever as long as they make the next show.

I don’t run a wrestling company, so maybe I’m not seeing a lot of what they see. Thankfully, I don’t also have to console grieving widows either. AAA said anything about the underlining problems here, treating this death like a random occurrence. I hope they’re proved to be correct, but every underlining indicator suggests Abismo Negro’s passing will not be remembered as a unique moment, but as the first in a depressing trend.

03/25: Abismo Negro, Lucha Libre Expo, Mexico

Weird convergence of events yesterday. On the same day where the lucha community gathered for Abismo Negro’s wake in Mexico City, the lucha community also gathered to for a previously scheduled press conference to announce the third annual Lucha Libre Expo.

SuperLuchas has the most detailed coverage of Abismo Negro’s wake. The body was late in arriving, so there sounds like there was a lot of standing around and talking about what happened. Family, seemingly everyone from AAA was there. Joaquin Roldan is shown leaving Abismo’s mask on the (closed) casket, Mini Abismo is shown where his mask (Black Abyss is mentioned to be there too.) Plenty of other wrestlers who knew him came by – Santo and Heavy Metal turn up in pictures, and Winner’s old partner (and guy who took his mask) Super Calo was there as well, talking about living together with his wife during the early days of AAA (and even before) until their paths went in seperate directions. Tabasco Hoy mentions many wrestlers snuck in without their mask on, to keep the fans hanging around outside from causing a scene.

It’s mentioned that Abismo Negro will be cremated.

On Monday, Arena Puebla held a moment of recognition for Abismo. I do not believe CMLL did that for Anotnio Pena.

Tabasco Hoy has quote from Abismo’s father and el Noruego, the local wrestler who first trained him. There are more quotes from Calo, Santo and Villano V about Abismo elsewhere.

The cause of Abismo’s death is still being discussed, though I don’t think most of the answers will ever escape private discussion. Hijo del Santo says he doesn’t know if Abismo Negro used steroids, but lots of wrestlers are to the point where it’s become a bad copy of the problems in US wrestling. The article also talks to a doctor, who explains that an anxiety act might also explain the strange behavior that led to his death. Meanwhile, AAA is steadfastly sticking to their original story of it being a heart attack and refusing to address the problems with that story (which has done nothing but convince everyone there’s a lot more going on here.)

Earlier in the day, “Lucha Libre, La Experience” held a press conference. This will be third year of the Lucha Libre Expo, once again to be held Centro Banomex the first few days of May (May 1 – 3). CMLL, AAA, Perros del Mal, IWRG, DTU, Wagnermania, and “Luchas de Antano” (new group? UWE?) are all supposed to be putting on matches during the show. I think the Dinamitias might have announced their own group in here as well. Basically, everyone is going to be there. There will also be a second ring for guys like Ringo Mendoza to hold classes, and an MMA group will be part of the show. Tickets will be 150 for adults, 80 for kids for a single day, or 300 for all 3 days. That’s a fine value for $21.

DTU will have a fashion show as part of the festivities, so we can all learn the in look for barbed wire ths season. More notable, they’re bringing in Shiima Xion, el Generico, Jimmy Jacobs and Chris Hero for the show. I sure hope Crazy Boy gets Chris Hero the right visa. Mr. Reyes has lots more pictures of the event.

Ovaciones has the schedule of events as
05/01: IWRG and independents (which include Super Porky – apparently he rumors of him being out of AAA are true)
05/02: CMLL
05/03: AAA (Crazy Boy was there as DTU owner, but AAA otherwise did not have people there to speak for htem)

CMLL (TUE) 03/24 Arena Mexico [ESTO]
1) Puma King & Tiger Kid b Molotov & Starman
2) Pequeno Olimpico, Saturno, Shockercito DQ Fire, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Angel de oro, Angel de Plata, Fabian el Gitano b Euforia, Nosferatu, Skandalo
4) Felino, Lizmark Jr., Misterioso II b Blue Panther, Sagrado, Valiente
5) La Sombra, Mistico, Volador Jr. b Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

Mistico fouled Negro while the referees were checking on dives for the pin, then continued to stomp on him post match. Crowd was totally pro-Negro, who made sure to point it out to Mistico.

Lizmark Jr. replaced Metal. Tecnico minis took in straight falls when Fire fouled Shockercito.

CMLL (TUE) 03/24 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [MT
6) Flash & Mictlan b Satanico & Virus
7) Hector Garza & Shocker b Averno & Mephisto

Garza replaced Toscano. Recap for this is very great and in it’s angel vs demons metaphors. Semimain feels like an upset (/partial injustice.)

Fuerza Guerrera is demanding Jack Evans and Konnan be jailed or kicked out of the country for what they did to his son, and AAA needs to take some responsibility. Hijo de Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. and Hijo del Santo are mentioned as supporting Juvi. The story says Juvi had to undergo hospitalized for nose surgery. Meanwhile, Juvi showed up at a Perros del Mal show Monday; he’d been booked there, and apologized for not being able to work. There is a picture, with Juvi’s nose taped up and wearing a neckbrace.

Rayo de Jalisco Jr. says the day he loses his mask is the day he ends his career. The interview also talks about him going to Japan and Korea to defend his WWA World Heavyweight championship. I believe all of this. The actual substance of the interview is yet another match with the Dinamitas, which everyone belives.

Guerreros del Ring magazine has launched a website – was it them, or Luchas 2000 who had one previously? They’re kinda low on content right now, but it’s early on. They’re using el Martinete as their message board; there’s a pre-existing relationship there, but more so it makes sense than created yet another board.

WrestlingObserver has it’s AAA recap

LuchaWorld has Robert with Monterrey 10/26/03 (Silva vs Damian & Haloween) and the CMLL MVS shows from 01/12 & 01/13.

03/24: Abismo Negro, Juvi, Perros

(so i’ve updated this post about twice in the fifteen minutes since it’s gone up. Sorry about that.)

There will be a service for Abismo today at six pm in Mexico City, so those he worked with can see him off one last time. He’s expected to be taken from there to Villahermosa, the town he was born in, to be buried.

The family identified the body yesterday, and both them and the local promoters (one of which helped search for him) have decided to say no more about the circumstances of Abismo’s death.

A wire story of his death, based off the original noroeste story and AAA’s press release about Abismo’s death has been in many papers the last two days. The second day stories are more pointing out how what AAA is saying for cause of death (heart attack) doesn’t match the noroeste story, though they have no information about why there’s that difference. The noroeste story also included a line from the local coroner suggesting steroids played a part, but that would have to be a guess on his part at this point since figuring out that sort of information usually takes much larger (if they seek it out at all – Figure Four Weekly says there will be no autopsy or further investigation at this point.)

EDIT: Tabasco Hoy (warning, here’s the picture of Abismo’s body again) says there was an autopsy done, and the official cause of death has been ruled to be drowning. There’s no clairfaction of any drugs in his system.

AAA says they found out about Abismo’s death around the end of the Monterrey taping (which caused them to cancel a post-show photo session with fans.)

In a weird note, someone wrestled as Abismo Negro Saturday night in Cancun. Absimo was scheduled to headline the AAA show in a trios with Alex & X-Pac vs Black Abyss, Chessman, and Kenzo, and AAA has said the last show Abismo worked was in Sinaloa two nights before. The local wrestlers interviewed say they thought they greed Abismo Negro as he came into the building, but it was a different guy going to the ring. Simplest answer is Black Abyss worked as Abismo Negro and someone else worked on the rudo side.

The show goes on. There was a moment of applause and remembrance for Abismo at last night’s AAA weekly show in Arena Cuatro Caminos in Nuevo Laredo.

Today’s Figure Four Weekly has the other side of the Juvi story. After Juvi found his bag, he was screaming about it in incoherent English to Konnan, blaming him, except the incoherent part meant Konnan had no idea what he was saying. Juvi later confronted Jack, and apparently bit him on the nose, so Jack destroyed him (by himself – no Konnan here.) Note to self: do not bite Jack Evans on the nose.

CMLL will start to air in France in a couple weeks. They’ll be showing a one hour show of the Friday Arena Mexico tapings on Wednesdays, starting on April 8, on Canal Jimmy. It’s going to be quite delayed from what airs in Mexico; first show is Villano V vs Blue Panther in a mask match. Hopefully the good people of France can avoid spoilers.

Hablando de Catch has a photo set of a (EAW) ring being taken apart.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 01/12 and 01/13 CMLL MVS shows, and 10/9/03 Monterrey, plus KrisZ’s

indy (FRI) 03/27 Arena Neza
1) Fuerza Guerrera & Scorpio Jr. vs Head Hunter I & Head Hunter II
2) Dr. Wagner Jr., El Hijo Del Santo, La Park vs Damian 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween

2) Gringo Loco & X-Fly vs Manowar & Payasito Luchin
3) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila vs Solar I, Super Astro, Ultraman
4) El Hijo Del Santo & Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Dr. Wagner Jr. & el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

That’s a strong lineup, with tickets from 300 to 50 pesos ($21 – $3.50), where CMLL is going with 175 to 20 pesos ($12.25 – $1.40), with cheaper tickets for kids.

03/23: Abismo, GDL, Coliseo

AAA mentions Abismo Negro’s passing on their website (and passed the story along to a sports recap show last night), but the link to the article (and others on the site) was non-functional last I check. The press department is saying it was a heart attack that killed Abismo, and I guess a heart attack could’ve been mistaken as the panic attack which caused him to get off the bus, but it’s probably not that simple. If you missed it, Noroeste updated their story late last night (though it looks like the site is getting overwhelmed with traffic at the moment.)

Luchando Libre has a good collection of Abismo Negro videos. SuperLuchas has his Abismo’s last interview on Tercera Caida and an obit.

(Whatever the Juvi/Konnan thing was, it’s probably not getting much attention now.)

indy (FRI) 03/13 Deportivo Ciervo de la Nacion, Exatepc, EdM [Al Filo del Ring

5) el Hijo Del Anibal, El Hijo Del Santo, Huracan Ramriez Jr., Super Nova b Black Terry, Cien Caras Jr., Mascara Sagrada, Shu el Guerrero

4) Felino, Satanico, Virus b Mascara Dorada, Mictlan, Valiente
5) Averno, Mephisto, Texano Jr. b Atlantis, Rey Bucanero, Ultimo Guerrero

Texano ripped off Atlantis mask and pinned him for the slight upset win.

CMLL (SUN) 03/22 Arena Coliseo [Ovaciones]
1) Caligula & Messala b Molotov & Sensei
2) Bam Bam, Saturno, Ultimo Dragoncito b Pequeno Violencia, Pequeno Warrior, Pierrothito
3) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Marcela b Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Rosa Negra
4) Hijo del Fantasma, La Mascara, La Sombra b Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca
5) Hector Garza, Mistico, Shocker DQ Ephesto, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

Ephesto replaced Heavy Metal, who showed up in a neck collar to apologize for not wrestling. Hector Garza took Marco’s spot (and must now have a lot of ideas for new spots to use.) Negro pulled Mistico’s mask and got caught for once, but apparently looked like the better man.

Al Filo del Ring also has interviews with Cibernetico & Canek about Wagner and their match (Cibernetico won the main event!) and Black Terry about wrestling.

Box Y Luchas 2915 has Villano unmasked and the headlines from Rey de Reyes. Article teasers include Konnan accusing Intocable of whoring himself out and Black Warrior saying he’s not going to AAA. The Juvi/Jack/Konnan story appears to have made the magazine as well.

A bit of a delayed reaction but – who else is running GDL on 04/03 that CMLL feels the need to do the extra show? They’ve always been running opposed in GDL for the Arena Mexico-like shows. Perros show, I presume.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 10/05 and 10/12/03 Monterrey.
