10/26-28 lucha videos

I think there were two Sobre el Rings this week – one with a press conference, one with a Niebla Roja interview – and I only got one of them. That’s the only problem I can think of this week.  (Oh, yes – they cut in on the IWL to breaking news, so part of the main event is missing. I can try to grab the replay if it’s a problem and TVCD doesn’t put it up.)

Sadica takes Bugambilia’s hair, Bombero defats Tony

IWRG (SUN) 10/27/2013 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores]
1) Oficialito 911, Oficialito AK47, Oficialito Fierro b Dragón de Oriente, Mini Dr. Xtreme, Mini Multifacetico
Dragon de Oriente & Mini Dr. Xtreme debuted, replacing Mini Super Astro & Dragoncito de Oro (or maybe are the same guys with new names, tough to tell.)
2) Alan Extreme, Dragón Celestial, Golden Magic b Ciclón Black, Epidemia, Guerrero Mixtico
Epidemia replaced Karate Kid (still hurt?). Neza team won and took all the Naucalpan masks after the match.
3) Bombero Infernal b Tony Rivera
Straight falls for Bombero! Tony hit the ref by accident in the first to be DQed, then Bombero submitted him in the second.
4) Extreme Tiger, Pirata Morgan Jr., Relámpago b Kalim Black, Picudo Jr., X-Fly
Kalim Black debuted and replaced Carta Brava Jr.
5) Bugambilia & La Sádica L Apolo Estrada Jr. & Diva Salvaje and Imposible & La Heroína and Dr. Cerebro & Miss Gaviota [ruleta de la muerte]
Worked as a four way, with teams escaping by winning a fall. Order of escape: Cerebro & Gaviota, Heroina & Imposible and Apolo Estrada Jr. & Diva Salvaje, leaving Sadica & Bugambilia.
6) La Sádica b Bugambilia [hair]
Seconds were Alan Extreme (Sadica) and Picudo Jr. (Bugambilia). Sadica won after the ref was paying attention to Alan and Picudo fouled Bugambilia.

I watched about 30 seconds of this last night. I am glad there’s only a one week disruption of daylight savings time in the fall. Bombero winning in straight falls surely means great things for his hair match with Tony!

Black Terry has photos of the RCH show. No full results, though the main ended with Dr. Wagner turning on Atlantis and LA Park & Terrible picking up the win.

Aeroboy & Violento Jack won a four way over Eterno & Fresero Jr., Low Rider & Mike Segura and Alan Xtreme & Nino Hamburguesa (?!?)  in the main event of a Rudo Neza produced show.

Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero are headed to New York on 11/16. That seems like the promotion Marcela has been working with, as she and Amapola are also on the show.

Diana la Cazadora and La Chacala are having a casket match on Friday!

CMLL (SUN) 10/27/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Yahoo! Deportes]
1) Astral & Pequeño Halcón b Pequeño Universo 2000 & Pequeño Warrior
Astral replaced Stukita – it was announced ahead of time, but they still somehow played Stukita’s music.
2) Metálico, Oro Jr., Stigma DQ Camorra, Hooligan, Nitro
Tecnicos won 2/3 when Hooligan tossed Stigma out of the ring by his mask, only Stigma’s mask went one way and Stigma went the other way. Seemed like a botched finish. Camorra & Stigma continue to feud (with the same surprise pinfall in the second.)
3) Rey Cometa, Sagrado, Starman b Boby Zavala, Misterioso Jr., Sangre Azteca
Starman was an announced replacement for Diamante. Tecnicos took 2/3 in a good match, Sagrado beating Misterioso.
4) Tritón DQ Ephesto [lightning]
Ephesto pulled Triton’s mask for the DQ.
5) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Namajague, Puma, Tiger
Tecnicos took it in straight falls. Maya feuded with Namajague all match and finally beat him with Sacrafica Maya. Maya demanded to know where Okumura was (hasn’t been around the last two weeks) and demanded a title match for next week. Namajague – in Japanese – said he did know where Okumura was and was not definite about the title match, though the announcers all thought it was happening.
6) Mistico, Rush, Titán b Averno, Mephisto, Volador Jr.
Tecnicos took 2/3 with Titan beating both Averno and Mephisto in the third. Titan feuded a little bit with Mephisto, and challenged to a title match. Mephisto eventually said yes.

It did not feel like an all tecnico win night, due to the two DQs. Semimain is worth checking out (though I lost about a minute of it in a feed disruption.) They made it sound as if both title matches could happen next week, which would make for one killer show.

CMLL was advertising a ticket deal for kids in costumes for Friday’s show. They mentioned this about twice every match and I still failed to pay attention enough to explain it to you. I did learn one thing – during the show, I noted Skandalo has been missing for quite some time, and I was later told he’s got an eye injury and will be out until January.

CMLL (SUN) 10/27/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Brillante & Capitan b Relampago Azul & Samael
Brillante took falls 1/3.
2) El Yaki, Évola, Satara b El Divino, Explosivo, Javier Cruz
Evola’s team took 2/3. Divino replaced Halcon de Plata.
3) Black Metal, Esfinge, Leo DQ Espectrum, Jocker, Sádico
Tecnicos took 2/3. Espectrum fouled Leo for the DQ, while Jocker took Esfinge’s mask.
4) Fuego b Bárbaro Cavernario [OCCIDENTE MIDDLE]
Barbaro came in as champion, but Fuego took falls 2/3 to win the the title.
5) Euforia, Niebla Roja, Pierroth b La Sombra, Súper Popular, Super Porky
Porky replaced La Mascara. Rudos took 1/3, Euforia pulling Sombra’s mask and pinning him. Sombra challenged Euforia to a title match next week.

Fuego’s first ever singles title win! (We’ll pretend the Occidente titles count.) Don’t think Barbaro losing the title necessarily means he’s moving to DF, since it did just go a DF luchador.

French wrestling (or catch!) site has an interview with Diamante Azul where Azul states he had permission from the Blue Demon family to use that name – the Blue Demon name itself. Azul explains CMLL did not want him to use it, so he came up with something close to it. I’ve never heard that before, but there were previous rumors of Blue Demon’s biological son taking the name away from the current user (who is said to be an adopted son) which would fit with this. Azul is very happy with the name change, since it’s got him more attention – inside and outside of CMLL – than he was getting as Metro. Azul says he’s heading home 11/10 for an 11/11 match. There’s more to the interview (like his thoughts on puroresu) if you check it out.

Today’s special Tercera Caida had an interview with many of the Brazos. They plan on running a show to honor el Brazo on 11/23 at Arena Neza. Tentative matches include Brazo de Oro, Brazo de Plata, Maximo and La Mascara versus Ultimo Guerrero, Gran Guerrero, Villano IV, and Villano V and Psycho Circus vs Mesias, La Parka and TBD, but neither match is for sure at this point.

Extreme Tiger wrestles in New Jersey on 11/09.

CMLL in Arena Neza on 11/13 has Mascara/Maximo/Porky vs Niebla/Casas/Escorpion, plus a fun semimain.

Video of Felino & Mr. Niebla vs Maximo & La Mascara from Arena Cuautepec.

Tijuana luchador Extassis is temporarily retiring due to health issues. That show is building a Zarco/King Azteca apuesta match.

Lucha Libre in Japan

AJPW announced their annual Real World Tag Team field, including Ozz & Cuervo as AAA representatives (and past champions.) The tournament runs from 11/30 to 12/08. Guerra de Titanes is said to be 12/07, which means the big focus on La Secta the last few weeks won’t pay off as far as any big matches in 2013 (unless they do them on regular TV in a change.) That’s all very odd.

Video of Super Crazy & Pesadilla vs Hajime Ohara & Genba Hirayanagi from today’s NOAH show.

Lucha Libre in Chile

Arkangel won the FULL title in Chile from former student Trox. No word on a return to Chile to defend (or maybe Trox comes here.)

Lineups

CMLL (SUN) 11/03/2013 Arena Coliseo
1) Metálico & Sensei vs Akuma & Herodes Jr.
2) Sagrado, Starman, Stigma vs Camorra, Hooligan, Nitro
3) Stuka Jr., Super Porky, Tritón vs Felino, Olímpico, Pierroth
4) Namajague & Shigeo Okumura vs Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr. [Arena Coliseo TAG]
Okumura & Namajague are champions, second defense
5) La Máscara, Máximo, Shocker vs Tama Tonga, Terrible, Volador Jr.
6) Mephisto vs Titán [MEX LH]
Mephisto’s champion, second defense.

Both title matches! This is a pretty big show for an Arena Coliseo show, and also probably one of the last few of the year if CMLL’s doing the usual holiday break from this building.

Namajague & Okumura vs Delta & Guerrero Maya was a bit disappointing the first time, but it seemed as though Namajague might have been hurt going in. He’s on form of late. Titan versus Mephisto is a second time ever – Mephisto won the match last year on Cadena3. Titan is going to have to wear his helmet and hold the Thor Hammer if he’s going to make light heavyweight.

Camorra and Stigma continue. The tercera will be hard.

RCH (SUN) 11/10/2013 Rodeo Santa Fe, Tlalnepantla, Estado de Mexico
1) Anime & Star Fire vs Crazy Star (F) & Ludark Shaitan
2) Dinamic Black & Freelance vs Comando Negro & Impulso
3) Puma King & Tiger vs ? & Eterno and Trauma I & Trauma II
4) Casandro & Villano IV vs Blue Panther & Máximo
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & LA Park vs Atlantis & Último Guerrero

Another new location. The tercera looks a lot of fun, the semimain has a rare Casandro/Maximo encounter and the main event is the main event.

Tonga cheats to defeat Rush, Oro

CMLL (FRI) 10/25/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Eléctrico & Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Nitro & Pequeño Olímpico
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Estrellita, Goya Kong, Marcela b Dallys la Caribeña, La Seductora, Princesa Sugheit
Tecnicos took 2/3, Estrellita & Goya beat Seductora & Sugheit. Marcela & Dallys continued feud.
3) Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas b Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Stuka Jr.
Peste Negra took 1/3 and were the stars of the match.
4) Máscara Dorada b Niebla Roja [lightning]
Mascara Dorada won with a rope bounce casadora cradle in a quick five minutes match full of big moves.
5) Blue Panther, Máximo, Mistico b Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Mistico & Panther replaced Sombra & Panther during the week.
6) Tama Tonga, Terrible, Vangellys b La Sombra, Rush, Thunder
Sombra replaced Marco Corleone during the week. Tonga cheated to beat Rush to use the ropes.

CMLL honored Oro in after the fourth match. Today is the 20th anniversary of his passing, and the annual mass in his honor will be held today at noon. Canada’s National Post also has a poem in Oro’s honor today.

IWRG’s Castillo del Terror lineup has slightly changed again. Carta Brava is off the card because he’s on the AAA TV taping the same day, and Hijo de Mascara Ano 2000 replaces him in the cage match.

The WON reports Guerra de Titanes will take place in Tepic, on the previous leaked date of 12/07. It looks like AAA hasn’t taped TV there since 2009, though I could be missing one, and there’s a large bullring there if they want it for the big show. (There are also smaller options.) Based on AAA saying they’re bringing in TNA wrestlers for Guerra de Titanes and the storylines TNA are running, there’s a good chance of an AJ Styles appearance to defend his title. (Time for Daga to lose!)

The giant photograph of El Santo from the 80 Years of Lucha Libre photo walk has been stolen. This is the photo. Those things are huge, it’s not something easy to walk off with or pry free from the frame.

In Queretaro, DTU said they’d be bringing in 3 foreigners for their Anniversary show in December.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/01/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Soberano Jr. & Súper Halcón Jr. vs Cancerbero & Raziel
2) Goya Kong, Marcela, Silueta vs Dalys, La Seductora, Tiffany
3) Ángel de Oro, Rey Cometa, Titán vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Blue Panther, Shocker, Thunder vs Euforia, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) La Sombra, Máximo, Mistico vs Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.
6) Rush vs Tama Tonga

That’s a main event which seemed scheduled for December, so it’s surprising to see it on Dia de Muertos. Kraneo’s promo for this show does not mention that main event, but does say he and Marco are on the show. Plans change. Shocker is scheduled for the four match, but there’s no reason he should be expected to show up unless he says something about the show himself on Twitter.

3) Dragón Celestial, Golden Magic, Mr. Leo b Alan Extreme, Ciclón Black, Guerrero Mixtico
The Neza rudos and Alan Extreme did not get along. Alan ended up helping the tecnicos win, only for the Neza rudos to attack him after.
4) Dr. Cerebro, Relámpago, Veneno b Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Imposible
5) El Hijo del Medico Asesino & Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. b Trauma I & Trauma II
Wagner had some of his fingers taped (but might normally.) Team Hospital Children took the match in straight falls. Trauma II and Medico were beat in the second, and Wagner beat Trauma I to take it.

Thought there might not be results with out an IWRG website, but they’ve just posted them to their Facebook site. Main event seems to set up a tag title match, but there’s no hint of it in the results.

CMLL has a low voltage show following up last week’s major card. The main event has the TRT team of Terrible, (R) Vangelis and Tama Tonga facing Rush, Thunder and Sombra. It may be a preview of next week’s title match, but it’s odd to do that without tag champion La Mascara, who’s way down in the tercera. Dallys and Marcela refuse to stop having matches and meet in the segunda. The Terra main event is Mascara Dorada versus Niebla Roja, which should be pretty good if the recent Titan versus Niebla Roja match is any indication.

Sombra’s in the main event as a replacement for Marco Corleone, who revealed he’s been in the hospital all week due to a foot injury and will be out of action for a month more. He says he was working thru the pain for a while but developed an infection which made the situation much worse.

Aereo & Fantasy vs Pequeno Olimpico & Pequeno Nitro, and Stigma & Oro Jr. vs Disturbio & Bobby Zavala have been added to the Furor show at Arena Naucalpan on 11/17.

Hijo de Rey Misterio, Lizmark Jr., Villano III, Extreme Tiger, Laredo Kid and Leatherface have been added to the EAW tour.

Lucha Libre in Japan

10/25 NJPW: Valiente & BUSHI won their Super Juniors Tag Team Tournament quarterfinal over KUSHIDA & Yohei Komatsu. Valiente had a pretty crazy suit of white armor. They face Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov in the semifinals on 11/06. (Even though all were in CMLL, it’s appears to be the first time they’ve had a match against Valiente. )Valiente & BUSHI have a logical chance to make the final; the Young Bucks are probably winning the bracket, and NJPW may not want two completely foreign teams facing each other at the end of the tournament. (On the other hand, Romero & Koslov are regular enough here not to feel like outsiders. Grasping at straws!)

NJPW announced the plans for FantasticaMania 2014. They had said the events might be spread out thru Japan after the 2013 shows, which turns out to be the plan. It’s a five day tour in four different buildings in three different cities.

01/14: Osaka (Bodymaker Coliseum)
01/15: Kyoto (KBS Hall)
01/17: Tokyo (Shinkiba 1st Ring)
01/18: Tokyo (Korakuen Hall)
01/19: Tokyo (Korakuen Hall)
Tour runs from Tuesday to Sunday.

The shows have all been broadcast on SamuraiTV in the past, but then they’ve always been in Korakuen Hall in the past. I’d expect some of the shows not to be taped at all now that it’s a longer tour away from Tokyo. NJPW broadcasting iPPVs fairly frequently, so there’s a chance one of these will be live. The list of talent is the next thing to come out, but probably a while away.

Rocky Lobo & Flamita did wrestle in the opener of the Dragon Gate Prime Zone taping on 10/25. Show isn’t broadcast for a few weeks, so I won’t spoil anything besides noting it’s a short match.

CMLL’s show on Fox Sports is listed at 2pm on Saturday. It was listed around that time last week, but was shifted to 10AM at a late moment – maybe Friday, maybe Saturday morning, no one’s quite sure because no one knew about it was way too late. It’s possible, maybe probable, CMLL didn’t know about the change themselves. Things out of your control will go wrong, the meaningful part is how you handle it. In this case, CMLL just ignored the problem. Their most important TV of the week didn’t air, they own the rights to the footage, they could’ve given it to Terra or put it up on YouTube or any other solution, and they decided to do nothing.

Now, it was a lame duck TV show. The eight day delay before a big show meant they were building up matches which already happened. (It would’ve made a lot more sense to air the top matches of this show on Terra for that reason, even before the time change.) It’s also not the first time this has happened on Fox Sports and probably not the last, but it’s the first in this new era Fox Sports as the most important show. CMLL should be used to be handling this situation by now, but seem more used to doing nothing and leaving their fans out in the lurch. I know there are people in CMLL who really care about making the best product they can for the fans, but they don’t seem to be the people in charge of things.

(This is also the irregular reminder that it’s absolutely ludicrious that I’ve writing a weekly post trying to figure when shows are on and what matches may air. Promotions should promote their TV shows as much as the rest of their product. Promotions should have a method for people to watch their shows if they missed them when they aired. Most of the mexican promotions are massively behind the curve on this. AAA at least posts their shows, but won’t publicize you what’s on them until they’re airing and still on their website lists a show long canceled as airing. That’s the best we have. This is all dumb.)

One last thing on this. As best anyone can guess – guess because, again, CMLL doesn’t explain anything – the top two matches were taken off Terra to help strength the Fox Sports show. No amount of skipping matches is going to help if the show bounces around the schedule, and Fox Sports can’t believe the show is that strong if they’re not giving it a permanent slot somewhere. Neither side seems to care about the TV show, so why do they care about ending the internet show early?

actually important non-rant items: Daylight Savings Time starts this Sunday in Mexico, but not until next Sunday in the US, Canada and border Mexico town (like Ciudad Juarez, which we use for a couple of web feeds.) Shows will start ONE HOUR LATER than you expect. This week, this will affect the CMLL on Terra show, the various Noches de Coliseos shows, maybe the SLP La Lucha se La Hace airing, and IWRG on AYM and LAS (1AM start) on Sunday, plus shows like Puebla and Tercera Caida and DTU thru the week.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: Part of 1 of Heroes Inmortales. Thinking they’ll air at least the first round Copa Pena matches first, because it would make sense to introduce Hijo del Fantasma and not just have him debut by seconding Texano in the title match.

== CMLL ==

FOX: Super Libre Plus and not-tag title match.

52MX: Valiente & Ultimo Guerrero and Mephisto/Mascara trios, but the interesting bit is the Guadalajara match. There’s a decent chance it could be a Hijo del Fantasma match, which would say everything I just wrote above CMLL’s lack of thought a lot more succinctly.

C3: Invasors vs Porky/Titan/Valiente

TVC Deportes (Puebla): Revolucionarios vs Estetas

En Busca de un Idolo: All they have left is the final match, but since they have an episode scheduled for next week, this is probably just a 30 minutes of Valiente and Vangellys training skits. Best show of the year.

Terra: Mascara Dorada & Niebla Roja try to out due Titan & Niebla Roja on Friday. Sunday has more Guerreros vs Fiebre build up.

== Other ==

IWRG-AYM Sports: A ruleta de la muerte where Apolo Estreda Jr. will end up winning or losing, plus Bombero versus Tony.

Noches de Coliseo: Hijo del Dr. Wagner starts out a match, but it doesn’t go well.

IWL: Pre-empted for the World Combat Sports competition. If they air a new episode, this would be the IWL Heavyweight four way.

DTU: matches from the 07/04 show – four way tag with the American Wolves and Mexican Powers vs Ciclope/Drastick Boy

Sin Cara, Escorpion/Maximo, Pantera/Masada, Stardom tryout

This week’s Tercera Caida includes a long interview with Sin Cara from the WWE Mexico tour Sin Cara seemed upbeat and laughed about the Sin Cara action figure with the sling. He thought Volador should come to WWE, and was not happy with Mistico II’s comments about being better than Mistico I.

They had footage of Brazo de Plata/Escorpion and it looked like the Maximo run-in was not to start an issue between the father and son, but instead to set up Maximo avenging his father at some point down the road. The match should air in full in Fox Sports this week.

Also, Pentagon Jr. was definitely not in Copa Pena after all based on the video – he was just hassling Octagon.

Tercera Caida also included clips of Hijo del Pantera’s debut in Wrestle-1 (which made him look like a great international star) and mentioned a Hijo del Pantera/Masada mask vs hair match for 10/31. I never saw the results from the last show (which included the luchadoras working in REINA), but Masada must’ve stolen Hijo del Pantera’s mask – he’s been using it an ash tray holder and a shoe mat. Hijo del Pantera is understandably upset, and cut up a Masada/Nosawa shirt.

AAA preview confirms Nino de Ebano & Lucky Boy are definitely Venum and Ludxor, though we don’t know which is which yet.

Stardom is having a tryout for luchadoras on 11/16 before the LEGEND/Dos Caras show at Arena Lopez Mateos. Only women under the age of 28 can tryout.  There doesn’t appear to be a fee for trying out.

Rob has highlights of 08/16/13 AAA.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Halloween, Damian 666 and Bestia 666 defeated Hijo del Lizmark, Hijo de El Supremo and Milo Galant on Saturday in Ensenada. Main event had been announced as Hijo de Rey Misterio and Bestia 666 in a title match, but no Misterio.

El Hijo del Santo’s column is about his documentary about himself and his father, emphasizing how tough it is to be Santo. El Hijo del Santo wants Quentin Tarantino to promote his movie. Good luck on that.

There will be a tribute show to Lizmark next Saturday in Mexicali.

top six stories of the last two weeks

* El Brazo and indy referee el Chocolate passed away

  1. La Parka was the biggest winner at Heroes Inmortales, winning the Copa Pena for the first time. He defeated Chessman, Fenix and new Consejo arrival Hijo del Fantasma in the finals of the tournament. Texano Jr. kept the AAA Mega Heavyweight Championship over Psycho Clown in what sounds to be the best match on the show. Angelico & Jack Evans won the tag team titles when Juvi turned on the Mexican Powers to cost them the belts. The show drew few hundred less than a sell out.
  2. Rey Escorpion took Brazo de Plata’s hair in the first ever Super Libre Plus match last Friday. Escorpion won by DQ when Maximo rushed into stop the one sided beating. (After seeing clips of this, it looks like they set up Maximo/Escorpion and not issues between Maximo and Plata.) This match, though the semimain, was the drawing point for a show which drew better than expected.
  3. The actual main event of the CMLL show was a moderate disaster. The promoted Rey Bucanero & Tama Tonga title defense versus La Mascara & Rush did not happen due to a Bucanero knee injury. Mascara & Rush won the belts by forfeit, then immediately lost to replacement team Terrible & Tonga in a non-title match. This was announced as setting up a title match this following Friday, but no title match is on the card. CMLL clearly knew about Bucanero’s injury ahead of time and did not stop promoting the match. CMLL is frequently reluctant to mention when luchadors are out with injuries or for other reasons and this was taking that policy to a new level. (In what might be a coincidence, CMLL late announced many changes to this week’s cards – for injuries and other absences – instead of the usual practice of simply not saying anything.)
  4. WWE’s first tour of Mexico in two years had mixed success. They drew a good crowd of 12,500 in Mexico City on Friday, but poor crowds of 5,000 in Queretaro, 3,000 in Guadalajara and 6,000 in Monterrey, though the building looked a lot more full for the final one. (All numbers from this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter) Rey Misterio Jr. did a run in on the first show, was talked into wrestling for two nights of the tour, but was reduced back to a run in on the final day. No return date was announced.
  5. On the latest (free) MLW Radio podcast, Konnan talked about how AAA US continues to move forward, but wouldn’t be on US TV until March at the earliest. He mentioned plans of introducing the luchadors – maybe a reality show – and the possibility they could change the names.
  6. AAA also taped a show in Tlahuelilpan, which aired after Heroes Inmortales was taped but before it aired (no PPV of any kind.) A post main event fight seemed to set up a Psycho Circus/La Secta match, though La Secta were back to feuding with Cibernetico & Perro Aguayo on Heroes Inmortales.
  • CMLL and the Mexico City department tourism announced a new tourist bus program. It’ll run every Friday, starting to pick up tourists around 6pm, driving around the historic area for site-seeing (and picking more people up) and taking them them to the 8:30pm show (fare includes a seat around the 8th row) and dropping them back at hotel areas after the show. Similiar tourist buses have done well elsewhere in the city (though they’re not always there when you want to find them.) Tickets are 500 pesos/$38.50 USD.
  • AAA’s announced lineup for their next TV taping (11/03, this weekend is off) included the unusual team of Cibernetico, Perro, and Fenix taking on Chessman, Texano and a mystery person (figures to be Hijo del Fantasma.) Juvi teams with Eterno & Steve Pain, whom he says will be his new partners to feud with the Mexican Powers. Old Antonio Pena creations Ludxor and Venum return in the undercard to team with Aerostar. They’re probably new looks for Lucky Boy & Nino de Ebano, as part of a storyline where Aerostar would mentor the young team and bring back old Pena characters.
  • Dr. Wagner Jr. is back in the ring after his deep gash on his wrist. Wagner told the press he would be out of a month, then returned a week later a sort of soft cast protecting the wrist.
  • RCH announced a LA Park & Terrible vs Atlantis & Dr. Wagner Jr. match for Arena Lopez Mateos on 10/23. It’s the first show for the promotion outside of Arena Naucalpan, and it’s the first time Park (and Wagner) will team with CMLL luchadors after Park has taken shots at the promotion (“won’t go back becuase they have no money to pay me”) and La Sombra (“to scared to face me to let me avenge Volador”) on Twitter. In an odd situation, current AAA wrestlers Carta Brava & Eterno are listed in the undercard – someone’s going to end up pulling out.
  • Valiente is headed to NJPW as part of their Best of the Super Juniors Tag Team tournament. He’ll team with BUSHI.
  • CMLL’s bodybuilding contest is 11/20, and you can tell it’s happening soon based on a lot of body shapes changing.
  • The Neza vs Naucalpan feud continues in IWRG, leading to 11/02 hair match between Tony Rivera & Bombero Infernal.
  • A fake Monster Clown is on the loose.
  • People who kept their titles: Marcela (over Dalys), Estetas del Aire (over Los Revolucionarios)
