El Mundo Orizaba nonchalantly posted the lineup earlier today. Overall, the only way you’d know it was a major show is because they’ve got a title match and it’s Perro’s first match. Otherwise, it’s a normal TV taping, one that could fit in a single taping. We haven’t missed a whole lot of build; it’s just a lot of matches. This would not have been a good card for Arena Monterrey.

Main event explains why Cibernetico and Mesias won the best possible tag team in AAA in one of luchalibreaaa.com’s notoriously suspicious polls the other day. It’s amazing how the right selection wins every time, even when the right selection isn’t obvious beforehand. (Though, if you’re going to fix anything, fix it so your current tag champs aren’t second to last.) This is the AAA Dream Team versus The Best Of The Perros, which really isn’t that impressive. Super Crazy is in AJPW during this, but they’re still not very deep. If LA Park wasn’t considered a Perro (which, like Dorian saying the TripleMania finish wasn’t going to be overturned, is a post TripleMania statement completely ignored later on), this would be silly. Perro Jr. has to be picking up the win

Instead of doing the Silver King vs Vampiro match for the title shot, they go straight to the three way. The #1 conteder’s match probably would’ve ended up there too, so this just saves us one Vampiro match. A recent WON explains Vamp’s TripleMania performance was bad because of cardio issues – I guess he’s had bad cardio for many years now? Anyway, I’m not sure how not having any matches until Verano will actually improve his cardio, but maybe they’ll be hide it in a three way.

Everything else is marking time, as if they’re eight weeks from a major show and are waiting to do even the major angles for it. And that show is Heroes Inmortales. This is a major show in name only.

This is WCW booking, so Hernandez likely defeats the Cruiserweight champion. They did actually set up the Metal/Electroshock feud, and I suspect it’ll follow on here Metal continuing to get destroyed. Apaches and Aerostar are there as foils to whatever they’re doing with the rudo trio.

Alan Stone on the rudo side gives away a storyline yet to happen. Chris is probably turning on Elegido at Sunday’s Lucha Libre Expo taping, and Alan and Chris are probably teaming with Decnnis in Puebla. They thought ahead enough to list Decnnis’ partners as mystery men for that taping, it’s a slip up not to do the same here.

The only fly in is Nosawa, and that probably was agreed to at TripleMania, before whatever happened. They don’t appear to be bringing in any Perros besides Perro Jr., Halloween, Damian and Super Crazy. Everyone else might be done after the Expo.

  1. from WON:
    – Booker T, Bryan Danielson, Terry Funk and Todd Bridges have all been signed for Bloodymania 4, August 12th-15th at The 11th Annual Gathering of The Juggalos, Cave In Rock, Illinois

NOSAWA is working the JCW stuff

  2. Oh no! What will AAA do without Nozawa??? Try to push Decnis as a credible rudo? Finally turn Super Fly and have him feud with Evans for the belt? Follow-up on Relampago’s now non-existent Triplemania rudo turn? BZZT. Time to find a new foriegner to waste money on and fly in. What’s Chasyn Rance up to these days?

At what point this year does Konnan intend to start phasing in the promised push of new blood?

This lineup stinks. It’s just flat out garbage. If you have no ideas and just want to do a throwaway show, by all means – go for it. But at least make the matches good on paper so the fans know they’ll get a solid show. How many of these matches are you looking forward to as possibly being fun to watch cubs? I count 1 of 6 and it happens to be the feud that will still be going on next year b/c this company never elevates anyone.

I’ll make the same guarantee I made when I said L.A. Park is not losing his mask in AAA – nobody is getting pinned clean in this main event and Perro Jr. is not getting the big win. Neither Konnan nor Roldan have the balls to tell any of those tecnicos to do the job for Perrito. Ciber would flip out, Mesias has no reason to take a pinfall for a guy who will never give it back and Parka Jr. is coming off being humiliated at Triplemania. There’s gonna be a huge brawl, maybe a surprise appearence and somewhere in the mess Parka Jr. will go over Damian 666 who is the only one of the six that knows what the word ‘professional’ means. Although I don’t blame any of them b/c they aren’t working for a company that has any authority figures capable of controlling things.

    “This is WCW booking”

Acutally this is completely WCW Mexico now. Nobody gets elevated, the stars won’t do jobs, the supposed man in charge is too busy focusing on his own storylines rather than doing his job and overall business takes a backseat to random surprise appearences and pointless fly-ins.

  3. 2 more things while I’m still angry:

    1. How about those Clowns? Still undefeated, still not booked for major shows. Is it written into their pretend contracts? I guess it’d make no business sense to have 3 young guys shockingly end the win streak?

    2. Octagoncito vs Mini Abismo in a straight up singles match for the belt doesn’t work? We saving it up for the Pena Memorial show where every mini will be in a scaffold match?

  4. holy shit! :O

i was perfectly fine with this card for a regular show but then i realized it said VERANO DE ESCANDALO ON the side and i was shocked

shame on you aaa shame on you

a minis triple threat match would be great

  5. I don’t think I could watch another AAA’s minis match since they are all the same.

The only matches that seem interesting are the first 2.

  6. Damn, this card is horrible. Infact the lineup for this show, reminds me of a terrible hangover that won’t go away. I would go into detail about my distain for current AAA, but Rob basically summed up my opinion on AAA’s current direction of the company.

  7. This looks more like a minor card than what is one of their bigger shows for the year.

  8. @Rob: If Parka was gullible enough to take the pin at TripleMania, I believe it can happen again.

Second match looks like it could be good. Opener could go either way. Otherwise, everything else is there for the bad entertainment provided.

  9. Someone posted a picture of the poster outside the arena and it says the segunda will have both the Reina De Reinas and Mixed Tag Titles on the line.
