Mistico beat Negro clean in the main event with a senton con giro.

Mexicans took falls 1/3 (double superplex + La Mascara plancha) and challenged for the trios titles.

Averno got the win with 20 seconds left on the clock, and by shoving the referee, fouling Fantasma and pulling of his mask, all without earning a DQ.

Mini tecnicos won the second in straight falls, Damian fouling Bam Bam.

EstadioW said this was the last Friday Arena Mexico show they’d be covering. They said it a lot, giving the impression it wasn’t their (the announcers) choice to end the broadcasts. Not sure if that means CMLL has a deal with someone else (they haven’t said anything) or EstadioW decided to do something different with their Friday nights.

Lucha2000’s Twitter says Exodia (Olimpico’s son) has retired due to injuries. He’s not been seen in IWRG since the first week of the year, and seemed to have injuries quite often.

CMLL.com and Ras de Lona talked about NJPW’s Giant Benard (Albert in WWE) coming in on May 27th. Matches with Strong Man, perhaps?

La Parka Jr. explains he did not make the AAA press conference because he works seven days a week. Parka explains that if Park loses at TripleMania, he won’t be able to sign autographs as La Parka. That’s testing the suspension of disbelief. Parka also asks, if Park was so good in the US, why is he back in Mexico?

Ultimo Gladiador notes that, the entire time he was in IWRG, he never got a shot in Copa High Power, only now when he’s an AAA Invader. Gladiador also hinted that IWRG guys would be making an appearance on AAA shows at some point.

Black Warrior has turned up on Perros del Mal cards at the end of the month.

DJ Spectro has pictures from Supremo’s funeral and an obit, as well as video from Sangre Chinana vs MS-1

Estrellas del Ring notes Hijo de Pierroth (Salsero) wearing his mask again. I bet if we had a complete record of Hijo de Pierroth matches, we’d find he’s lost his mask five or six times, mostly in small places where he figures the news will never come out.

R de Rudo interviews CMLL trainee Acuarius and Hijo de Pirata Morgan.

Kcidis has Konnan preparing for the maid match.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Lineup

CMLL (TUE) 05/18 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Freesbe (CMLL) vs Camorra & Cholo
2) Leono, Metatrón, Tigre Blanco vs Apocalipsis, Bronco, Semental
3) Diamante, Molotov, Rey Cometa vs Cancerbero, Euforia, Raziel
4) Blue Panther, Delta, Sagrado vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Texano Jr., Virus
5) Brazo de Plata, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero

Porky back in action already. It’s not like he really left. Not many tecnicos around this week, so Delta gets another semimain and Freesbe gets to exist for the first time in a while.

IWRG (THU) 05/20 Arena Naucalpan
1) Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 vs Último Gladiador
2) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro vs Avisman, El Hijo del Diablo, Gringo Loco
3) Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr. vs Alex Koslov, Chessman, Cuervo

This lineup and the other IWRG one are early ones posted on the Box Y Lucha board. Gringos Locos and Cerebro Terribles isn’t listed as a title match yet.

CMLL (FRI) 05/21 Arena Mexico
1) Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II vs Inquisidor & Mortiz
2) Astro Boy, Guerrero Maya Jr., Sensei vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo
3) Eléctrico vs Pierrothito [lightning]
4) Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Misterioso II, Pólvora, Sangre Azteca
5) Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shigeo Okumura, Taichi vs La Máscara, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada [CMLL TRIOS]
6) Místico, Strong Man, Toscano vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

They’re wasting no time on the Trios titles. A little bit of a surprise that they’re not just making that the main event; On Ras de Lona, they did have those flipped, but didn’t list the title match as a title match.

CMLL (SUN) 05/23 Arena Coliseo
1) Camaleón & Principe vs Apolo Estrada Jr. & Disturbio
2) Horus, Metálico, Starman vs Durango Kid, Puma King, Tiger Kid
3) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Pegasso vs Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Metro, Rush, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Euforia, Vangelis
5) Máximo, Shocker, Strong Man vs Rey Bucanero, Taichi, Último Guerrero

Hooray for Fabian and Dr. X making the third match (and not 52MX). I think they purposely schedule Rush in matches to prevent them from being too good.

IWRG (SUN) 05/23 Arena Naucalpan
1) Dinamic Black vs Comando Negro
2) Cerebro Negro, Eragon, Hijo del Pantera vs Alan Extreme, Heavy Boy, Hijo del Signo
3) Fuerza Guerrera vs Dr. Cerebro [IWRG IC WELTER]
4) Jack vs Bombero Infernal [hair]
5) Cibernético, Hernandez, Tinieblas Jr. vs Hijo del Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Olímpico

It’s kind of amazing that the IWRG defenders against the AAA invaders are guys like the Junior Dinamitas, guys that vanish from IWRG for long stretches and don’t seen like regulars.

Also, that main event will be a very bad match.

Not really sure who will lose their hair. Both are capable of it.

  1. Cross out Mascarita Dorada and insert Ultimo Dragoncito. Wonder if this is the final straw for him and CMLL.

Luchas 2000 has the 5/20 IWRG undercard matches:

DAGA Y ERAGON VS COMANDO NEGRO Y EL HIJO DEL SIGNO

    DINAMIC BLACK VS KESHIN BLACK

Surely that 6/4 card has to be incorrect or has been pushed back a few weeks b/c they haven’t built up either of the rumored top two matches and the next two Fridays are likely to be pushed around Strongman vs Giant Bernard.

  2. Looks like 52MX has expected matches. And IWRG is still in it’s Infomerical.

  3. Okay…I guess I won’t have to record this week’s IWRG, but I really wish this show would start earlier on the east coast or anywhere really so I’d know ahead of time.

  4. Isn’t it a little weird that Fuerza Guerrera is working a show with AAA guys? Is that feud over with?

  5. @Tim: It is strange, but I think his problems are more with Konnan and he’s not directly involved.

  6. In fact, he’s probably not involved in this at all, because it never came up in the F4 interview!

  7. DOH! I tuned in late just in time to see Bengala and now we’re at commercial. I am the sad.

  8. Short but some really nice stuff shown. Hopefully a new weekly thing! I may campaign their twitter.

  9. Mortiz is the guy that does the Spanish Fly to the floor right? Surprised we didn’t see that. First fall was nice.

  10. Yeah. Weird that he faces two guys who would clearly take it but didn’t bust it out.

  11. Bronco is a star. Can’t wait to see him and Semental next Saturday TOGETHER. There’s your CMLL main event tag team in 2013.

  12. Got to love the cameras staying on the kid asleep in the crowd. I guess that was during the Bucanero match?

Bronco is awesome. Why isn’t he on more?

  13. He’s young. No rush. Still hasn’t turned 21. I assume CMLL is waiting for him to bulk up since he’s really tall which they love out of their rudos. I also assume he’s in line for a new gimmick before he gets his big push.

  14. Does CMLL have a rudo ref? If not, Why did that ref not call a dq when Dr. X did the low blow and he was staring right at it? Good match though. Rey Cometa is nuts.

  15. ACM had Golden Boy vs Simbolo, Laredo/Pimpi/Purpura vs Cuervo/Mamba/Espiritu from 4/25 and Dark Unicorn vs Hijo De Karonte. Not a very good show at all. Golden/Simbolo was real disappointing. Hopefully we get a hair match down the line.

  16. @Rob: They knew it was my last show and were trying to impress my daughter?

Will someone post a link if this shows up online anywhere?

  17. @Alan: It’s already up on the torrent sites but I should have a regular link to make d/l’ing easier very soon. I’ll pass it along.:)

  18. I guess CMLL doesn’t care about who watches their show or Televisa just figures they can air it whenever they want b/c supposedly the show started way earlier than it was advertised.

  19. @Rob: who deserves the blame? Televisa or CMLL? Televisa is a scumbag outfit. CMLL should air their Friday tapings on Cadena Tres to avoid the constant bullshit.

  20. @LLL: That’s the part I can’t figure out. Whether CMLL just doesn’t care about when or if they air or whether Televisa just treats CMLL as an infomercial that can be aired wherever it fits into the programming.

The recent time shifts are definitely a cause for concern though. I would not be opposed to Cadena Tres airing Friday shows on Saturday night and Tuesday shows on Sunday afternoon. They’ve done it before.
