The big show to end the year. Wagner/Mesias and Konnan/Cibernetico are as previously announced.

AAA’s twitter, when teasing the matches for this show (without actually listing them all yet), said there’d be an AAA vs Legion match for the 2010 Rey de Reyes title shot. Presumably, that’s match 5, though it’s not specified on the poster. This would seem to indicate Dr. Wagner isn’t losing and getting a rematch, though plans can change.

Not sure how good of an idea it is to set a challenger 4 months before the match, when all their post-title shot ideas are “run uneventful trios involving both wrestlers” and “run two uneventful triso matches, where each title match participant get to win a match.” Not the most compelling TV.

Of the 8, Rocky, Alex and Teddy have never been treated like contenders to the heavyweight title. Octagon in a 10-15 singles match at this point in his career would be a very bad idea. La Parka too, but that hasn’t stopped him before. There’s no telling if Latin Lover will still be around in March – he’s here and gone a lot, and you’d want the champion to be full time. Chessman got the shot last year at Rey de Reyes. I can’t see them doing Mesias/Chessman again, but they have set up a Wagner/Chessman match. Zorro has been completely marginalized since TripleMania, but they could always throw him in against either guy.

Fabi Apache and Sexy Star finally have their blow off match. When AAA brought in Rain, Jennifer Blade, and everyone else, it seemed like they were just going to let this drift away without resolving it. Instead, those women come off as a pointless digression thus far (why waste all that time on them without doing a big match? – they should’ve come in after this feud was done.) Aero and Billy are supposed to be in their respective corners, and all four of those people are supposed to be in hair/mask match just two days later in Guadalajara at the FMLL show. Probably going to be a bad weekend for one couple.

AAA should’ve taken the tag team titles of Lider & Nicho a long time ago, but they haven’t, so it’s fruitless to hope that they’ll do it now. Jack & Marco seem like an interesting team, it gives Marco something to do, and it breaks Jack out of facing the same guys every week.

Second match is usual WagnerManiacs vs AAA trios.

Opener is listed as a battle royal with the AAA minis title on the line. Mini Charly Manson is champ, but I suppose he makes up for not defending the belt in a year and a half by defending against 7 people at once. Math sorta works with that.

After this, it’s just the annual last taping of the year in Chilpanicgo, and they’re done until January.

9 thoughts to “12/11 AAA TV Lineup (Madero, Guerra de Titanes)”

  1. “Mascarita Divina vs Mini Histeria, Mascarita Sagrada 2007, Mini Charly Manson, Mini Psicosis, La Parkita, Octagoncito, Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Chessman [AAA MINI, battle royal]” I think the outome will be Mini Abismo dethroning Mini Charly Manson, & winning the title.
” Fabi Apache vs Sexy Star [mask, hair]” All I’m going to say is, Sexy Star better say adios to her mask.
“La Parka Jr., Latin Lover, Octagón, Rocky Romero vs Alex Koslov, Chessman, Teddy Hart, Zorro” The person who’s getting the title shot at Rey de Reyes will either be Chessman or El Zorro.
“Dr. Wagner Jr. vs El Mesías [AAA HEAVY” This one I’m not sure what’s going to happen, except Mesias is going to get booed. If this is the end of the fued like AAA says it is, ( for the love of god, just end the damn thing) than I actually think Wagner is winning, with someone running in & costing Mesias the title.

  2. “Mascarita Divina vs Mini Histeria, Mascarita Sagrada 2007, Mini Charly Manson, Mini Psicosis, La Parkita, Octagoncito, Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Chessman [AAA MINI, battle royal]

hey the minis made it on a big card! either mini abismo or octogoncito will win i think.

    4) Fabi Apache vs Sexy Star [mask, hair]

so will this end the apache billy boy feud?

  3. As someone who constantly speaks out about how awful AAA is, even I must agree that this card looks good. Easily the best major show card of the year… on paper. We’ll have to see the execution of course.

Mini’s could be fun depending on the format of the match. AAA website seems to think Mini Charly is defending so perhaps it’ll just be 7 guys in the match with the winner (Mini Abismo) immediatly getting a title shot.

Segunda looks good enough for a filler match. Electro over Tiger. AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT, CUBS?

Tag title match looks like it could be really fun although it screams ‘we have no idea what to do with Corleone’. Wouldn’t be shocked to see new champs crowned. Could be the sleeper match of the night.

The AAA vs Legion match is elimination according to the poster. I think it’d be better if the winning team got to pick who gets the title shot b/c then you could fill the next few months with in-fighting and a mini four-person tournament to see who gets the title shot.

Women’s match is interesting. Lots of rumors about Sexy Star leaving AAA already. Not sure how valid any of those are though. If she doesn’t want to lose her mask I can see her jumping ship. Konnan Big sounds like a good replacement.

Top two matches are… well… the top two matches. I’d put Konnan/Ciber on last if they are planning to do a big angle. If they are just gonna do a worked shoot finish as I expect though, leave it for second last.

Both promotions have strong cards for December. I like it that way.

  4. thecubs fan you said “There’s no telling if Latin Lover will still be around in March – he’s here and gone a lot, and you’d want the champion to be full time.”

Regardless of who the champion is, the title is rarely defended, and lets’ face it, the AAA Mega Championship isn’t worth the plastic it’s made out of. If anything Latin Lover would bring some sort of prestige to that title. Even on the weeks he’s not at the taping they can air pre-taped segments of him to enhance the story line.

  5. Minis should be good.

Lots of Pimpi/elegido flirting for sure.

Zorro has been reduced for sure.

    Stip match is good.

Konnan vs. Ciber in a street fight should be bloody, with tons of weapons, and probably a concession stand brawl too. Pinfall will probably take place anyplace but the ring.
