Is AAA dumb or just stupid?

(There’s a headline which won’t get me a link from luchalibreaaa.com)

While there are many situations where that question is applicable, the particular iteration has to do with luchalibreaaa.com’s lineup for Verano de Escandalo:

Putting aside “atomicos” means “teams of four”, just stare at the first team for a while. If you’re new, let me explain: the Psycho Circus has been Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown, and Killer Clown since debuting 19 months ago. Which is not the team listed there. There’s two possibilities here:

Both answers are face palm bad.

In other notes from AAA’s posted Verano de Escandalo lineup, it’s almost exactly what el Sol de Tampico posted a month ago. Some differences

– The Hermandad/Elegido/Gronda is NOT listed as a tag team title match, which is odd. It’s ladder and chairs instead, which is entertainingly bad.
– Nikki is listed as being back on this show
– The rules of the AAA Heavyweight Title cage match is the first person to escape wins the title. Pretty easy bet that this rule was made to get around asking people to take pinfalls they won’t want to take.
– They never explained the Ultimo Gladidador turn. Fine work!

  1. Like I said on twitter, dude, it’s AAA. If they replaced the clowns, they’d have given them the same name. They just don’t know the names of their own talent. I FUCKING CLICKED ON THE WRONG VOTE BUTTON GODDAMN IT.

  2. Most likely AAA forgot who’s in the Psycho Circus/don’t know who the Psycho Circus is period. I wouldn’t be surprised if luchalibreaaa.com don’t know any of the roster, besides Konnan & Mesias.

  3. There may be something to this b/c the LuchandoLibre preview for VdE which was posted two weeks before the AAA lineup came out said the following:

“La inicial, anunciada como relevos de locura, colocaría a los Psycho Circuss contra los Yakuza, aunque para ser “de locura”, hace falta un ingrediente o dos, que en los próximos días deberan de ser confirmados.”

If anyone left and got replaced you would think it’d be Psycho and Zombie b/c they’re Mexican (BAD) and Killer is a white (GOOD) dude who Konnan would never dare fire.

I think it would be absolutely hilarious for… of all promotions… !!!!!!!AAA!!!!!!!! to have guys quit on them and then actually acknowledge the fact and debut two new guys in the group under different gimmicks.

Remember this promotion is the same promotion who as of a few months ago had La Parka, Psicosis, Histeria, Gato Eveready, Triple A, Gronda, Octagoncito, Mini Psicosis, etc. – All gimmicks being played by wrestlers replacing the originals without informing the public.

If the Clowns did quit and Pena was still alive – he’d just put new guys under the gimmicks. But then again if Pena was alive the Clowns would actually be on TV, the winning streak would mean something and their first loss would actually mean something (*).

Seriously – for a team that has beaten EVERY SINGLE PERSON ON THE ROSTER besides the top 3 guys (Ciber, Wagner, Mesias), they sure aren’t treated as anything special, are they? It’s like Konnan decided if he has to use a Clown team he might as well make them strong but never figured out where it was all leading to. Imagine that, Konnan being short-sighted!

Making the main event an escape style cage match is awesome. I am in awe of how Wagner manages to always get his way no matter where he goes. I can’t wait to see the day where he crawls back to CMLL and does a clean job for Mistico. It’ll probably never happen as his ego would force him to work Coacalco shows against Justiciero rather than make money but be losing a fake fight. Surely Mesias can’t be happy about giving up a clean loss and never getting it back. Hope they at least gave him some extra cocaine to satisfy him. (**)

(* – Yes, I know. Pena had the original Clowns lose their first match to a makeshift team on a regular TV taping without any build.)

(** – I meant gave BILLY BOY some extra cocaine while Mesias just stood by and did nothing at all. Nope. Nadda.)

  4. What are the odds AAA planned to send you their next press release and thanks to this you are now officially off the list! Again!

  5. @Rob: OTOH, surely this post would’ve never gone up if I was on the AAA mailing list, because I totally would’ve been in the tank for them.

    (shhhh, maybe they’ll buy it)

Back to pointing out the obvious:
    – It’s Thursday.
    – The lineup went up Tuesday.
    – People in AAA have likely read this article or have otherwise found out about the clown names
    – It should take only minutes to fix this if it’s a typo.
    – It’s still listed with Murder and Monster Clown.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

  6. ESTO appears to be competeing with AAA.com for dumbest typo:

“En una guerra de facciones, La Parka, Marco Corleone y Octagón (AAA) lucharán contra la Wagnermanía: Silver King, Electroshock y Último Guerrero.”
