Review:

some professional work

I couldn’t believe how long the main event was when I went back to time it, and I’m still not sure I did the math right. It didn’t feel like a near half hour match, though it did feel a lot like the longer running indie matches LA Park tends to rather than a normal CMLL tag. It was more of a brawl than anything usual in Arena Puebla, to the point that it looked strange for Ultimo Guerrero to be in a corner waiting for a tag in the third. The effort was so much more than anything else on this card, with LA Park & Rush doing a lot for a small building at the other guys contributing. The best subplot was Hijo de LA Park trying to get Bestia to take moves and bumps he normally wouldn’t take, to mixed results. Bestia did take a German suplex and a dropkick to the floor seriously after taking it easy. Ultimo Guerrero got overshadowed, and that never happens. The downside of it being so long is it was a lot of work for the expected LA Park/Rush screwy finish at the end, but they did give the people tuning in for LA Park what they wanted. This was a borderline great match.

The middle matches don’t have much value. The semi-main was very generic outside of the cool dive spot at the end. The tercera was a worse match than usual with those guys, where Sagrado attempting to give himself a torito because Stigma was no help just about right. The takeaway I got from the match is Guerrero Maya is putting on weight, not a great takeaway.

The second match was a standard Puebla match, so promise but not a lot of direction. Tiger Rojo and Audaz using the same armbar is not good news for Tigre Rojo, but he’s also probably wrestling in Puebla forever so what does it matter. King Rocker was as good if not better than Oro Jr. doing the mirror spots in the second fall. King Rocker might be better served as a tecnico. Oro seems like someone who would be happy with a change of look, but that seems unlikely to happen. In the meantime, Oro seems like he’s just taking other people’s offense and doing it in less impactful ways.
