A new day! A new era! Up is down, down is up, the high flyers are on top, the heavyweights are pushed all the way down to the (uh) semimain, Abismo Negro is teaming with Gato Eveready! I give this three weeks.
“Cruiserweight” doesn’t really mean much in lucha libre. There is a Mexican National Cruiserweight championship but it’s never really gotten traction – La Parka Jr. won it before he was La Parka Jr., which kinda proves the point. Cruiserweight is the WCW buzzword, and so that’s what’s being used here but middleweight would mean more. Eh, small battles not worth fighting.
What’s more amusing is the ever so rare 13 man match! Some people go for even numbers, some go for multiples of threes, but AAA blazes it’s own trail. Even better, it’s in a dome caged – so there isn’t a winner in the traditional sense (just the second to last loser) – I wonder if this is meant to be seeding or something?
Plus, they’ve stacked the deck in Block A. Not sure if I could come up with 13 for Block B, but I’ll try

Okay, that’s not so bad number wise. Name wise, it still doesn’t work and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s only one block.
The ? guy here would seem to be Shiima Xion. Based on the numbers, it’d make more sense for him to be a tecnico, but I don’t think they think like that.
Everything else is holding in place from Rey de Reyes: Charly/Electro, Mesias/Chessman, Zorro/X-Pac, Parka/Silver, Konnan/? (Vamp unless plans change again), Abismo/Abyss, Fabi/Cinthia.
Billy Boy in the main event? It’s a new day in AAA is right.
yay AAA is doin the (L)same shows cant wait to see apache vs moreno once again, i wonder when they gonna get more women for variety in their shows and also i wonder til when AAA is gonna use the mixed matchs??? i think the big match vamp vs konnan will be saved for the triplemania, and what the wrestlers who leave the cmll for being bored what they would think now about their choices, cuba bless the big boss Konna he knows how to rule and Dorian & Roldan knows how to make lame a bussines like AAA
To each it’s own. I personally enjoy AAA, it’s no secret. I’ve try following Raw,Smackdown,ECW,Impact,NWA on Colours,SAW,CMLL on Televisa on a weekly basis but I just can’t. AAA is the only company that I still enjoy.
I can do without the constant run-ins but it’s not a big deal for me.I hate run-ins on big shows like Triplemania though that should never be tolerated.
You can tell Konnan in the interview that there are guys on the net who still like the product like me.
Well I guess we now know the rules of the cage match thanks to the AAA TV lineup for Monterrey…

The AAA website (results from Madero, not the article about the Hermandad) makes it seem like the 13 person cage match was to determine matches for the tournament while eliminating one person (last one left in the cage). Obviously Billy Boy got eliminated but they listed the order of escape and such and it seems like the first two out got matched up with the last two out which should set up two other four way matches the second two out against the second to last two out and then the middle four guys who escaped. Did that make sense? Anyways – it looks like it’ll be a 3 way final.
I’m wondering if maybe it’s listed as a four way, but it’s really two singles matches, like how they used to list the tag team tournament matches as fourways. We’ll see.
@thecubsfan: But then you’d also have to have an explanation as why the first two escapees are moving on along with the last two escapees. Why were the middle guys dumb enough to leave the cage for no reason?
Okay, I should have read the Madero results first. I guess I just assumed it was a four way since that’s how the lineup had it as but singles makes sense.
