I’m having trouble making sense of these. And it’s not totally me being dumb this time.

The mystery man in the main event was non-existent, apparently. Konnan interfered (or was meant to be the tecnicos partners, I’m not all together sure) and the rudos won, but Konnan fell and hurt his hip due to Mesias. That they’d mention this on the website probably means angle, but it also probably means we’re getting out of Konnan and Vampiro (which still wasn’t announced or set up here – no sign of Vampiro.) Whatever it took not to get that match is for the best. AAA’s promising an update on Konnan’s condition soon.

It may be fixed by the time you read this (which is why that link up there is a cached version of the page), but the website says Super Crazy wrestled in the semimain. The way it just off hand mentions it means it’s probably a brainfree and supposed to be Crazy Boy, since he was listed in the match. Alex Koslov was the surprise wrestler (surprise!) but the match was more Silver King beating up La Parka Jr. again.

Abismo Negro was selling the beating from Wednesday’s taping during his match, and Nikki distracted Elegido to help Jack Evans and Teddy Hart win.

The description of the opener points out how two men and one women vs two women and one men is totally unfair and states that Aerostar will be finding his way into the feud to even it up at some point.

Next show is Wednesday, the last show before Rey de Reyes. Perhaps they’ll reveal the card to the people without internet access there?

  1. Aero Star vs Billy Boy feud could be neat and an easy way for Konnan and company to make sure they keep those guys in the opener. God forbid we ever do a Parka/Aero Star/Mesias vs Silver King/Billy Boy/Konnan match! Can’t have that glass ceiling ever being broken!

I think the report said Nikki flashed the tecnicos so Teddy could use a roll-up. Same thing happened on the 2/18 taping so they must be building to her getting her top ripped off or being given a piledriver depending on if the bookers are re-living WWF 1998 or ECW 1996.

My guess on the Konnan injury is you’re overanalyzing it. Konnan is going to lose at Rey De Reyes and even at his age and the fact he is almost a cripple he still wants to protect himself in losing. Now he can say he went into the match hurt so he doesn’t have to admit a clean loss. Can you imagine we’re in the year 2009 and even with the shape they are in both Konnan and Vampiro still can’t take clean losses?

  2. I wonder if Jack Evens and Elegido were proffesional to each other in their first time in the ring together since the Christmas party incident. I look forward to seeing this on TV.

  3. AAA website explains the main event better today. The mystery wrestler was Vampiro but Konnan didn’t let him wrestle so it ended up being 3-on-2.

I guess one week Konnan has more power, one week Vampiro has more power, one week Roldan can suddenly make decisions and one week the board of directors we never knew about can only make decisions.

  4. @Rob: Yeah basically this whole idea of Konnan having power is just not having the impact we all thought it would. To put it simply watching AAA on a weekly basis just doesn’t give the audience the feeling that Konnan is running the show. I really don’t see much of a difference between now and before Konnan got power.

There was one week when it was the Legion Logo that kept flashing on the screen as opposed to the AAA and PAP logo. At least they were trying at that point, but they gave up on that too.
