What happened:

no

Rudos won the main event in straight falls, with Cavernario beating Niebla Roja to set up a title match next week.

Thoughts:

The main event was the standard build up for a title match. Niebla Roja seems more comfortable unmasked and Cavernario’s post match promo was good, but there didn’t seem any special connection between the two of them during this match. Hopefully there will be more in the title match.

The semimain was easily and obviously the match of the night. They got as much time as anyone and made twice as good use of it. The rudos are as good at bumbling around to make the tecnicos look good as anyone: the third fall sequence with Maya in particular came off great. The técnicos bring great energy and it works perfectly for these crowds. This was just missing a bit more drama and bigger moves in the third fall to make it stand out more.

still no

The lightning match was the usual greatest hits bit with not much in between. Drone’s dives look good, Raziel’s top rope Falcon Arrow looked great, but there’s not much more to get out of it than the Gifs.

Isis came back from Japan with something to prove against Marcela, and then messed up a sunset flip. What can you do. She’s consciously trying to be more aggressive and it’s not really happening but it doesn’t matter. Wish they could’ve don more than 3 seconds of Maravilla vs Amapola.

this angle makes it look more devestating.

Grako was off in space for the first fall. Tecnicos were not solid and this match wasn’t exciting outside the last few seconds. The end of match sliding out of the ring felt like the dive ban was still back on.

Angelito’s new gear looks nice. His speed climbing to the top rope could stand to improve. Violencia violently botched something in the second fall, and messed up again in the third fall.
