CMLL Puebla: 2017-02-06

Zacarias gets the best of TItan

Recapped: 02/07/2017

What happened: Rush foul Diamante Azul to set up a singles match next week.

What was good: The tercera was the only watchable thing on the show.

Where can I watch it: It’s on CMLL’s channel.

    • Hijo de Centella Roja top rope splash Fuerza Chicana (4:34)
  2. rudos
    • Malayo scorpion Hijo de Centella Roja (4:51)
    • Perverso triangular del solar Meyer (5:18)
  3. rudos
    • Fuerza Chicana cradle DDT Arkalis (3:41)

Winner: rudos (2/3)
Match Time: 13:33

Review: [below average] not many highlights while also dragging for sections, especially in the third fall. There were spots which just went bad too. Perverso needs a better shirt, a plain white one looks minor league. Calming down is the bigger issue, but the harder one to fix. Arkalis did make him look strong with a nice flip bump for his clothesline. Clothesline spot with Centella Roja went far worse. The rudos really should’ve gone with falling down on the Meyer dive spot when they failed to catch him, what they did instead looked poor. Centella Roja didn’t standout positively either.

  1. tecnicas
    • La Vaquerita cradle suplex Zeuxis (5:27)
    • La Jarochita bridging inverted facelock La Seductora (5:34)
  2. rudas
    • Zeuxis double knee smash La Jarohcita (2:15)
    • La Seductora arm hook armbar La Vaquerita (2:35)
  3. rudas
    • Dalys cradle Marcela (4:23)

Winner: rudas (2/3)
Match Time: 12:32

Review: [below average] this one lost me when Vaquerita & Seductora were so bad in the first fall and was hard to get into. Zeuxis & Dalys did very well, Marcela was good, and the rest wasn’t a lot. Vaquerita looked shook the rest of the first fall after the really bad botch, and Seductora was never that much good. Jarochita was the fourth best luchadora in this match, not a great achievement. I’m now annoyed when she’s boring all the time because of that one match she wasn’t. This is what I get for watching matches.

argh
Zeuxis flying in from nowhere really makes this

  3. rudos
    • Tiger pin Soberano (6:31)
    • Drone top rope splash Puma (6:31)

Winner: rudos (2/3)
Match Time: 14:15
Notes: Soberano and Puma were pinned at the same time, but only Soberano was the captain. Tiger knew the rules!

Review: [good] a really fun action match, really kicking into high gear in the third. There was a lot to like here, but going from everyone using their usual big moves to everyone using the same moves to (almost) everyone breaking out new moves because nothing else would work was a really nice progression. They fed into each other well for the entirety of the match, and kept up a good pace. No one really stood out above the others but Puma & Tiger do a lot of little stuff I like Tiger holding Soberano close enough for Drone to tag, but only if he illegally left his corner, was a great bit of random evilness. Even the strange ending kind of worked. This was closer to going up a higher grade than lower.

Match 4: Máximo Sexy, Stuka Jr., Titán vs Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla

  1. Peste Negra
    • Cavernario pump splash Titan (6:01)
    • Mr. Niebla top rope splash Stuka Jr. (6:18)
  2. técnicos
    • Stuka torpedo splash Mr. Niebla (4:06)
  3. Peste Negra
    • Felino casadora cradle Máximo (4:30)
    • Mr. Niebla reverse boston crab Stuka Jr. (5:02)

Winner: Peste Negra (1/3)
Match Time: 15:26
Notes: Stuka was shook up after the torpedo splash. They checked on him in between falls, and he recovered enough to stand in his corner and chat with his teammates. Stuka was out of the ring for most of the third fall. Pompin thought the third fall was supposed ot be a double pinfall spot, he was wrong, and he held up the count forever anyway and the crowd died. Niebla wanted to put Stuka in the Nieblina, but Stuka couldn’t or wouldn’t go for it. He was put on a stretcher after the match.

Review: [ok] Another match that got off to a rough start with Felino and Stuka, and wasn’t ever going to be much giving who was involved. This is one I usually would skip and probably should’ve just done this time; OK is a generous grade. Mr. Niebla did a lot of wandering around the crowd and being silly. I think it was more he was excited to be in front of them than him being out of sorts, because he was moving around fine when he was actually in the ring.

Match 5: Pierroth, Rush, Volador Jr. vs Diamante Azul, Euforia, Valiente in a relevos increíbles match
Arena Puebla, 02/06/2017

VideosOficialesCMLL

  1. Team Diamante Azul
    • Diamante Azul press slam Falcon Arrow Rush (3:40)
  2. Team Diamante Azul
    • DQ Rush [foul to Diamante Azul (3:09)

Winner: Team Diamante Azul (1/2)
Match Time: 6:59
Notes: The rudo team (Volador included) attack Diamante Azul as he enters the ring, then the others as they walk to the ring. Azul was about to beat Pierroth when Rush fouled him and shoved down a goofy Tirantes. Rush and Azul set up a match for next week.

Review: [below average] still a nothing match, but a little better nothing main event because Rush seemed to be trying in the pre-match beatdown. Pierroth vs Diamante Azul wasn’t over at all or good in this match. Diamante Azul gave Pierroth the safest clotheslines, weirdly. The few bits of rudo Volador we got here were nice.
