It’s been mentioned in the comments and other websites, but I figure AAA putting a picture pretty much confirms he’s the new member of D-Generation-Mex. This doesn’t seem as good a move as Romero; when/if these guys get lost in the mix, I think Alex ends up with a lower position than he had in CMLL. But I hope I’m wrong and it works out great; Alex is a friend of the site enough to do a podcast a while back, so I’m still rooting for him.
Don’t think he’s finally winning that title any time soon, though. AAA’s gotta create another one, or put one of the other ones they have back in play.
I think this is a better deal for AAA then Romero, because Alex has been built up enough to mean something over a long enough under they name they’re going to use.
I hestitate to suggest this, but since AAA’s establised the patern of throwing one name out, just to set up someone else jumping…well, if they’re taping in Veracruz on Friday night, and they want to tease one more, and you want to maximium the level you screw with CMLL, don’t you tease Alex’s good friend Marco Corelone being next, jumping instead of showing up for his hair match? I don’t know that he would, I don’t know that he should, but that’s clearly the best combo of effectiveness and belivablity here.
I would figure Corleone or Dark Angel would be next. God forbid they get a Mexican to jump. God I’m sounding like Robert now.
I’m more worried about CMLL trying to save face and stealing some worthless AAA talent.
I wonder if any Mexicans in AAA will jump to CMLL. That would be kind of funny.

It is not that AAA is not trying to make Mexican jumps (like the perennial Black Warrior, Toscano and Rey Bucanero thing). It is just that the Mexicans won’t jump since they’re scared of being blacklisted permanently or worse. Romero and Koslov obviously don’t care as they can work elsewhere.
The funny thing is that CMLL claimed that XPac couldn’t work for them because AAA had arranged his work permit. But should Koslov be in the same situation?
We’ll see how it works out, CMLL (or even WWE) didn’t do anything with Porky and Kenzo and now they’re quite a hit in AAA. I think they’re having them as “tecnicos” in order to make them go over once they turn. Maybe Zorro and Electro can go back to the tecnicos with that many foreigners rudos.

its really not about blacklisting. if AAA wanted a mexican they could get one. Koslov is a solid pickup for them and i can see Koslov and Romero as a team. but AAA would be better off getting a known mexican. even someone from IWRG, like someone who left because of all the foreigners being brought in, or bring in someone who can get you others. if AAA got even one of the Junior Capos to come over there’s a good chance that all the Capos would come, or at the very least, the rest of the jr capos. i like Alex and i think he’s very entertaining so i’m fine with this, but there are better options than Romero that are probaly cheaper too.
Well you might care when your a guy like Toscano and one day you forget to bring Konnan his coffee and he fires you. Where else can you go? Monterrey?
Is AAA really interested to take the worst wrestlers in CMLL ? Romero and now Koslov. CMLL is the big winner here and can give a big thank to AAA.
How do you figure koslov and romero are the worst in CMLL? Thats why romero jumped because he is respected in the states and in Japan and then he comes to Mexico and they really didnt have a spot for him. And Koslov, I mean come on did you see the Pay per view when he went to TNA and particapated in the world cup. He was the MVP of that tourney. I can name 30 wrestlers associated with CMLL that are far worse than these two. Could be a bad move or could be a good move, We will see in time. But I can tell you this AAA wants to do a similar style like WWE but dont have the necesary puzzle pieces to make the puzzle they are trying to make. Lot of horrible sloppy workers in AAA. But if you can start infiltrating workers like Koslov and Romero, who can carry out a wwe/american style of work with all the bells and whistles, AAA will have more success with stories they are trying to get across. Otherwise I see just a sloppy version of WWE when I see AAA. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I respect that but Koslov and romero can help AAA and wish them luck
They gave him main events and semis in spring, he sucked, so they repositioned him in not-so-good spots. Who wants to blame CMLL for that?
And Koslov – being respected otherwhere and being the tourney MVP in another promotion doesn’t excuse months of being crappy in CMLL.
Kozlov was over with the ladies in the crowd. That’s more than you can say about a lot of the mid carders in CMLL.
And Romero was in there with Sangre Azteca who isn’t exactly motivated to light up the charts anymore.
I for one think that kinda sucks. I’m sure he’ll be entertaining in AAA train wreck matches, but it won’t be the same…

Romero jumping to AAA was an accurate move for the wrestler and for both promotions.
Koslov in AAA doesn’t stick in any way – he is better located at CMLL. But it’s a worse movement for Alex than for CMLL
Something that a lot of people look past when it comes to Koslov, is that he originally gained entry into CMLL thru his association with what was at one time called the “Inoki Dojo” in Los Angeles – which was part of the whole “New Japan” in the United States thing a few years back. This group is behind a lot of the revived “touring NWA” shows, and obviously NWA Mexico to an extent. When Romero & the Havana Pitbulls popped up in CMLL a few years back, it was thru them. When Koslov popped up in CMLL, it was thru them as well. When the CMLL guys started popping up in SoCal a few times randomly earlier this year, thats where they were showing up. The Inoki Dojo is also the ones booking the Albright-Pearce NWA Title matches to ROH, and Fergel Devitt and Karl Anderson to NJPW.
With that said… I wonder if the Inoki Dojo is now going to be working with ROH and AAA, and that is how Romero & Koslov ended up there. They can pick up Mexican dates in AAA & NWA, and also pick up bookings in TNA and/or ROH since AAA doesnt run TV as frequently.
The ByL board is not a reliable source but the word is that Laguneros did a powerplay and Ultimo has replaced Negro as the top guy. The group would supposedly include guys like Mistico, Olimpico and Dr X (some of them complained about how things are being run).
Cesar says that guys “shoot” on Corleone last night, in retaliation of the rumors about his leave, I doubt that would be true, one thing is being upset about the locker room situation, and another one being unprofessional, of course, if someone comes up with a “Liz Jr took a knife to the ring” story, who am I to question that?

I didn’t see much of the match but there didn’t look like any moments where they were shooting but who knows. It’s totally stupid to want to shoot on a guy the week before you want him to draw a crowd in a big match. “Hey dude, we’re gonna kick your ass for real but swear to god we won’t double cross you next week in the hair match.”
I just don’t buy it.
Cesar usually speaks matter-of-factly as if he had insider info, but it seems he just keeps his ear up and pick ups some stuff from ArMex.
I think Mark and the rest know the match/show is in trouble in terms of drawing so they decided to stiff it a bit, causing confusion in the marks.
RFC has Koslov/Alan Stone vs Chessman/Zorro as the NL headline match on Monday. Plus Laredo Kid returns which should mean he’ll be a surprise wrestler on a future AAA show.

IIRC (and I know I do), the same “they’re gonna shoot” rumors were floating during the Corleone-Kenzo vs Shocker-Universo feud, but TV showed nothing that could be considered as such.
I don’t think Corleone should jump. That AAA schedule is rough. Lots of long bus trips, compared to the CMLL ArMex, Coli, Puebla, GDL, Leon, Cuernavaca circuit. Nah. If Corleone does anything, it’s try to get back in WWE.
Why would he want to go to WWE when the Schedule is even rougher than AAA’s?
WWE is running fewer shows than ever in the US. When they come to central Florida next month, they don’t even have house shows booked. Just Raw on Monday, and Smackdown on Tuesday. WWE guys are doing less than ever unless it an international tour.
AAA’s schedule is grueling. Long bus trips to tv tapings. After tv, you get a ride to the local bus station for your red eye bus to whatever spot show you work the next day.
CMLL runs Leon probably less often than AAA. Cuernavaca is about to be closed (if it is not already)Puebla and Gdl don’t draw good enough to host the same crew with any regularity. It’s not much of a difference save for ArMex, and the main problem right now is that it’s not paying much.
Shame about Cuernavaca. But I forgot Queretaro which seems to do regular shows. Pachuca? That used to be every Tuesday.
I thought Leon was getting about one CMLL show a month.
Still, I’d say the CMLL circuit is a little easier than AAA, which really does not have an established circuit.
I just looked and this past month, Marco wrestled 16 times. Sometimes even 3 times a day. I also looked at Jack Evans schedule for this past month and he only wrestled 13 times. The CMLL schedule is harder than the AAA schedule because CMLL tapes tv every single week while AAA does TV in bulk. Both are still not as tough as WWE because WWE guys are only home what 2 days a week at the most?
Well, Chui said that Wagner works six shots on a “slow week”.
Where do you see Marco working 3 shots a day? Or Evans 13 times? I’m sure there are missing spot shows in the database you’re using.
Didn’t WON show that Batista worked the most shots in WWE in one year, with 150 dates or so? Everyone else was much less. So the busiest WWE worker does about 3 shots a week.
He worked 3 shots for the Toreno a couple weeks ago on Cadena Tres.
The database i’m using is right on this page so unless Cubs is missing a few shows, That sounds about right.

sure, CMLL guys might work a few extra dates, but they mostly live in DF area and work ArMex, Coli, Puebla, and Pachuca weekly, which is an easy drive. GDL is a little further, but still not bad. Those poor AAA guys can spend a lot of time on a bus.
I just said Corleone should go to WWE because I think he’d be a hit. They have few good guys in developmental(I attend FCW weekly), and he’s a big guy that has found himself in CMLL. WWE could use Corleone now.
He needs a ramp if he goes to WWE. And I”m sure AAA would be happy to make him one.
According to a German website, Batista was the WWE wrestler who worked the most matches (158). This year, it’s CM Punk so far (137). The wrestlers in Mexico have to work more matches, but there is one thing that souldn’t be forgotten: working one-on-one matches can mean a much bigger amount of work then doing lots of trios matches.
158 per year means that he works 3 shows per week, which is nowhere near the number of shows lucha guys work, even if singles matches might have more amount of work, there are also mostly squashes.
What one gets to see in cards in the Internet or magazines is just the tip of the iceberg. Pachuca is off the wagon as well, they might use Leon-o or Skandalo, but the main eventers are way out of their reach, same thing has happened with lots of guys, even AOL is no longer using any CMLL guys as they’re too expensive and don’t draw enough to recover the costs.
Koslov himself said he worked 5 to 8 shows per week and at times 3 shows per day on the weekends when starting. The demand for Wagner is much greater, so I should take back the “slow week” and say, Wagner makes 30,000 during a dead week.
One of the guys who mentioned Koslov was jumping hours before it actually happened is saying Corleone is next but only after the hair match.
