Faby Apache, Jennifer Blake, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Mamba, Sexy Star, Taya Valkyrie: [OK] Pimpinela and Brazo de Plata matches are the same thing; neither are what they once were, but both are so beloved by the crowd that they can get easy reactions and over power matches. That’s kind of what happened here, as Faby and Taya’s build to their TripleMania match was in the background until the last couple minutes of this average match. The last few minutes were all about that, including a finish that looked messed up when Taya tried for a crafty bridge escape but pulled Faby off the mat in the process, but it felt like they didn’t give them enough if this was supposed to be important. This was a lot of rudas doing kicks and slaps and técnicas rallying back in basic ways.

Australian Suicide, Drago, Fénix vs Dark Cuervo, Demon Rocker, Pentagón Jr.: [GOOD] This was the opposite, where the match started built around the ongoing feud – Pentagon/Suicide – and then that was just dropped in the last few minutes. Crowd was way more into Fenix than Suicide and Fenix was looking a lot less broken than recent weeks, so it worked out OK. Match had some very good spots that didn’t come together but should provide good GIFs. Wish they had gotten better a shot or replay of Drago’s big diving headscissors off the apron, but they did better for other spots. There was a very obvious edit (due to sound jump) right before the finish, and I’m still not sure what was supposed to have happened with Demon Clown, Fenix and Pentagon Junior. Also, tough to sell Pentagon taking an inverted huracanrana like death when Fenix takes a Demon piledriver and is up and back on offense within 10 seconds. (He’s never ever going to stop doing that piledriver no matter who he is, even though it got no reaction here.)

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Hijo del Fantasma, Texano Jr., Zorro: [OK] This was a different Consejo versus Psycho Circus match, because they hit each other with straps. No, wait, that’s ever match, this was every match between the teams, never mind. I don’t want to ever see a lumberjack strap match, but this is on the one feud which where a strap match might make sense. Zorro did add something – a prematch attack, pointless cane shots to the head (especially when the chair shots at the end were supposed to be remarkable things) – but even the ‘big’ stuff of Texano bleeding and Psycho Clown getting his mask ripped up is stuff they’ve done multiple times. Fouling someone might be the only thing you can get disqualified for in AAA, and even that depends on the week.
