double stomp curb stomp

Aerostar, Ludxor, Venum vs Carta Brava Jr., Fresero Jr., Hijo de Pirata Morgan Good match for the first half, then got all sorts of iffy after the técnicos came back. Rudos were an efficient destruction machine and not so great going with the tencicos, though the técnicos had more of their own problems. Ludxor and Aerostar both botched dives (which were then shown again in replay of course) and there were other smaller but still noticeable mistakes that took the match down. Venum covering a botch by just randomly doing a bunch of flips was the most Fuerza Aerea thing ever. Back to the dark matches mean back to the videos with absolutely no crowd noise, which hurts the excitement. Camera people weren’t so great at keeping Pepe Casas in frame for the big rudos near fall. Aerostar and Ludxor both seemed hurt after the match.

Sexy tornillo

Reina de Reinas #1 Contenders match: Sexy Star kisses Taya before the match, then helps Cinthia Moreno attack her five seconds later. Most Sexy Star moment ever. It actually seemed like they had planned this entire match (and done a good job of it), but Sexy Star was in on her own plan for the first few minutes. It got smoother from there, and was a completely solid match. No pinfall break ups in an elimination match – the AAA women are smarter than the men – though there were other random turns. Mary dropped Magnifica at one point, then they were both double teaming Sexy Star seconds later. Maybe they just don’t hold grudges. Magnifica and La Jarochita were surprisingly good against each other – they must be having quite a feud on the (imaginary) AAA Fusion show. Taya seemed to come back from nowhere to win in the end, but the northern lights suplex to set up final move was impressive.

confetti bump

Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Niño Hamburguesa vs Daga, Eterno, Steve Pain: Normal non-hardcore Mexican Powers match, which still means chairs at the end because there’s just no other way. Crazy Boy and Joe Lider both look like they’ve been frequently dipping into Niño Hambruguesa’s hamburger supply. I assume it’s more they’re hurting too much to do anything that would keep the weight off, but their attempts at covering up their increased size didn’t work. Anarquia did the best they could, but this was not like them versus more agile teams. At least the right team won.

the tiniest clothesline

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown © vs Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King, Texano Jr. for the AAA World Trios Championship: There’s nothing intelligent left I can say about this matchup. One can argue that I never had anything intelligent to say about this match up to begin with, but here we are. And here we go, with at least two more months of this. [screams]

everyone dance!

Cibernético, La Parka, Monsther Clown vs Averno, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Parka Negra: usual Perros main event – crazy brawl leads to clowning around in the ring. Clowning around was amusing, but this felt like a very long segment killing time to set up the run-in at the end. Parka Negra seemed to be much shorter this week and took spinning bumps off clotheslines, wonder how that happens. I have no idea why Anarquia really wants to fight ol’ Sin Cara so much, but it’s not really working out well for them. Working well for the other guy.
