Rebelde senton con giro

Bengala & Magnus vs Akuma & El Rebelde: Good opener. Rebelde is fun and worked well with Akuma (who may have gotten better lately) and Bengala and Magnus are a perfectly fine técnico team. There were small errors, with Bengala not taking the bump he wanted to at the end of the first fall, but it felt like interesting stuff was happening. Tuesday openers have improved of late, which might be a little bit about who’s in them and a lot about randomness.

real neat hold if you could actually see it

Esfinge, Gallo, Pegasso vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Disturbio, Espiritu Negro: Did Tuesday booker trade Metálico/Oro to Sunday booker for Gallo/Arkangel? Sunday booker won that trade. People who have to listen to the rooster call five times a match definitely lost that trade. Esfinge came off as just a guy, but Espiritu Negro also frequently comes off as just a guy and he manages to get a long here fine. Esfinge’s finisher looked good, would look better if they had angle without a giant graphic obscuring half of that.

Silueta knows about 50% of the dance

Dark Angel, Estrellita, Silueta vs Dalys, Tiffany, Zeuxis: An up and down match, with some moments much better than others, and then a random chokeout disqualification finish. I don’t watch a lot of MMA, so maybe they all set up chokes with hair tossing soon? Post match (and the result) suggested this was the start of an issue but booking hasn’t been as clear on that point. You know, Dalys hasn’t been good since the Marcela feud – and she wasn’t good before that feud either. I think Marcela may be very good at lucha libre. Dalys did perform better with Silueta late than she did with Estrellita early, so it may just not have been all her. Note Estrellita and Dark Angel had matching neon green outfits. I feel cheated we didn’t get to see Goya in neon green too.

Herodes, weirdo in a big hat

Delta caught between two dives?

Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Marco Corleone vs Cavernario, Herodes Jr., Kráneo: Match overachieved my expectations and might have been the best on the show. CMLL’s really toned down the build to Guerrero Maya contra Kraneo for the Anniversary main event this year. I’m beginning to believe it may only exist as a figment of my imagination. Kraneo entertainingly feuded with Marco Corleone here instead, and the war over chokeslams was delightful. The clothesline to the floor in the third fall was great too, and I’m wondering who I need to bribe to get a singles match with them. Junior Peste Negra played off Marco well too, with Herodes struggling a bit more with the smaller guys. I think everything is still moving too fast for Herodes. Maya and Cavernario had smaller roles in here, but that’s okay this time.

should just create a luchadors dancing tumblr at this point

bad times for Kraneo

Azul tope

Diamante Azul © vs Terrible for the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship: Okay enough title match. If you were hoping Diamante Azul would take his fighting skills to another level in a big title match, you definitely did not get that. It was kind of his normal stuff with terrible getting in more offense and a little more brawling, but Azul is still missing something – a special charisma or danger or awe the top guys have. He’s kind of where Rush was before Rush really put it together but, even then, Rush and Terrible were having better matches. Terrible worked really hard here but this is not a match I’m going to remember much next week. There was no cavernaria, so that was a plus.
