Angelito & Stukita have a tag finisher?!?

taped 2014-04-15 @ Arena Coliseo Guadalajara

Angelito, Astral, Stukita vs Demus 3:16, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Violencia: Fun minis matches, good given where these guys are even not on the level of AAA’s good minis matches. Angelito looks very raw and has to be directed around at times, but looked more promising here than his other matches. I believe the referee ruled Pequeño Nitro submitted to the set up Angelito’s cradle suplex in the third. He still counted three after. He and Stukita are kind of a weird time. Rudos were greatly destructive in the second. Demus dropping Astral on his head – in a move the camera misses – is really dumb, but we’re at the point where it makes much more sense to blame the people in charge since they clearly aren’t instructing the wrestlers to knock it off. If you can cut out early match dives, you can cut out piledrivers if you wanted to, and they must be fine with it.

Demus destroys Angelito
into the void

Atlantis, Rush, Titán vs Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas: Another match in our year of Rush versus Negro Casas, with four other guys running around. Negro Casas/Rush brawl was good all the way thru the post match, the rest of this was not particularly memorable. Titan’s cradle needs a name. It’s weird how Mr. Niebla has gotten older & more broken down, but he’s decided to do a top rope splash in every match instead of his easy submission. Felino also does that middle rope elbow drop more and more.

Maximo tope

Rey Escorpión vs Máximo for the CMLL World Light Heavyweight Championship: Routine title match with a very un-CMLL finish. It was obviously designed to protect everyone, but just made the whole thing look dumb. It didn’t ruin a good match, because this was one lacking a lot to make this feud interesting. We haven’t seen the Máximo who barrelled over Rey Escorpion and pummelled him with punches in the Super Libre Plus match in quite some time, and Rey Escorpion seems as interested in intimidating the camera people as Máximo. Second fall only lasted a minute – shorter than either break between falls – but managed to be a series of awkward spots for how long it lasted. Third fall turned in to near fall turn taking, and begging for a reaction which wasn’t coming.
