Seconds were Sagrada and Sangre Azteca. Amapola took falls 2/3, the last with a backcracker, to win the championship. Syuri falls on her third defense. Amapola is 7th champion, having beaten a visiting Japanese challenger for the second time in three years (Leon).
5) Atlantis, Rush, Titán b Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Tecnicos took a quick three falls match, taking falls 2/3. No specific post match challenges, though Casas and Rush are still feuding.
6) Rey Escorpión b Máximo [CMLL LH]
Seconds were Titan and Tiger. Maximo weighed in at 91 kg, Rey Escorpion at 92.5 kg. Maximo won the first. Rey Escorpion submitted Maximo with an arm hold in the second, and Maximo had his arm checked between falls. Rey Escorpion is champion. Eighth defense, third against Maximo.
Women’s championship was the best match on the show. It was better than expected, but the main event was also not as good as hoped. It also didn’t seem to draw anything special (maybe more than they would’ve put in Coliseo but not much more), which is a bit concerning when the Maximo/Rey Escorpion feud appears to a big part of a show this summer. I’d chalk that up more to championships meaning very little in CMLL, but it would’ve helped if the title match built the feud bigger going forward. Instead, it was a weird bit where Maximo had Escorpion beat, Tiger was allowed to run in the ring and argue with the referee to stop the count, Titan did the same on the next Escorpion spot, and Escorpion snuck in a foul in the confusion. The Tiger run-in should’ve been a DQ under CMLL rules, btu they just went overboard in trying to protect everyone and no one got anything out of it. Definitely not the people watching it.

Rudos took 1/3, last by DQ. Challengers set up a four way hair match on 04/27.
6) Boby Zavala & Demonio Maya b Black Metal & Fuego
Rudos took 1/3, Demonio Maya beating Fuego. Maya challenged for a Occidente middleweight title on 04/27, and Fuego accepted.
7) Diamante Azul, Gallo, La Sombra b Cavernario, Herodes Jr., Terrible
Tecnicos took 1/3.
I probably need to list Exterminador as a tecnico, but I don’t think he’s long for that side. Not really sure who’s going to win.
Bernardo “Barney” Galván Sevilla, promotor of Baja Stars Wrestling in Tijuana, has passed away. The last show he promoted was the 03/01 Sin Cara versus Black Warrior match.
AAA TV announced two more tapings for the rest of May: 05/17 in Tapachula, Chiapas and 05/24 in Tuxtla Gutierrez. That’ll take them at least until the middle of June for television, up to (and maybe past) Verano de Escandalo. There may be another 12-16 day gap between tapings after Tuxtla as well, just like AAA’s now going to have right now.

And so the mystery of why nothing was set up for this show was answered. Reyes del Aire is back, though vastly scaled down and with an smaller field. It should still be an excellent match, but there are obvious omissions – including the guy in the tercera. I am a fan of Guerrero Maya Jr. and he does cool dives, but if they’re only going to have six tecnicos in this match, he should be fighting the caveman and Titan should be doing the flips. (Unless they’re spinning an Arena Coliseo tag team title match out of this, and everyone you’d suspect in the next one of those happens to be included.)
Main event is the more conventional Kids Heroes versus Mean Rudos (who will go around for the Kid’s Heroes moves.) Both this show and Tuesday’s show are splitting Kid’s Day this year, which unhelpfully falls on a Wednesday. Perhaps that’ll mean IWRG will run that day next week?
Vaquerita is scheduled for her first match here since August. She’s traveled to Japan, and then was hurt in her last match has been recovering the last couple of months. She was a ruda (and Zeuxis’ partner in crime) last we saw here, but has been a tecnica elsewhere. CMLL still seems to be searching for a young tecnica who could work, so they’ll give on more luchadora a try.
Outside the cibernetico, it’s not a very vital card, which works out well if you have other things to watch next Sunday.
