Demus CRUSH

Angelito, Astral, Stukita vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pierrothito: Generally good minis match, helped by having hard working rudos to carry the técnicos. Angelito seems like he should’ve been held back for six more months before debuting, because he’s raw and tentative at points. Stukita is the much better rookie. Demus getting in his piledriver at the end came off as totally random, sense Pierrothito was about 5 seconds away from winning the match on his own anyway.

spin around the head armdrag!

Dragon Lee, Pegasso, Star Jr. vs Canelo Casas, Hechicero, Puma: Dragon Lee submitting Puma was so sad, luckily things got much better. It seemed like Hechicero was told to concentrate on making the técnicos look good in the first couple of falls, because he didn’t go into cientifico loco mode until the third fall. Star Jr. was the guy who actually stole the match, looking super (with a little Hechicero help) in the first and even better in the third fall. His dive was outstanding, and he and Hechicero have totally unlikely chemistry. Pegasso has a neon green outfit now. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE NEON GREEN? This is the greatest unimportant mystery of our times. I thinks someone told Canelo Casas he could really use some color and he went to the hair dresser.

Brillo Cometa

Diamante Azul, Fuego, Rey Cometa vs Boby Zavala, Misterioso Jr., Pólvora: Alright match derailed in the middle. Second fall disqualification was so out of the blue that they cut to replays when Bestia Negra award Fuego the fall, and never showed Bestia putting on the five count. It really dumb Bestia Negra’s been empowered to do what he’s been doing, but it’s also dumb that other people (rudos included!) haven’t caught on to his gimmick. Misterioso demonstrated more genuine looking anger at Bestia Negra than most of the técnicos, anyway. They finally to it back together in the third, though Pólvora didn’t look good in general and there were two straight ‘surprise’ pinfall spots which are anything but after being done so many times.

double corner tope

Cavernario, Felino, Mr. Niebla vs Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., La Máscara: Paint by numbers match. That’s actually a good thing for Barbaro, who didn’t feel exposed here. It didn’t make it all that exciting to watch (especially if you were sleepy to begin with), but they found fans in the crowd who seemed happy so good for them. For a team made up of aging veterans, the Peste Negra have a surprising amount of high flying finishers. Felino and Niebla saved their comedy bits for Delta’s offense, which might say something about Delta’s offense.
