Jen tope DDT!

Drago, Faby Apache, Jennifer Blake vs Sexy Lady, Sexy Star, Steve Pain: A more entertaining match to end with a campana the C3 title match, that’s for sure. Steve Pain hasn’t been in many mixed tag matches but was really great here, both in working with the women and generally being amusing himself. His fear of Faby Apache when she was turning the match around and stomping his face in was quite something to see, and he took Jennifer’s tope spinning DDT well. Sexy Lady didn’t get a whole lot to do in a rare TV appearance but had a fine enough match. A good opener.

springboard double stomp/back suplex

Angélico, Australian Suicide, Jack Evans vs Daga, Pentagón Jr., Psicosis: The técnico trio has set the bar high; this wasn’t bad, but it’s not up to their levels for smooth and fun. Daga and Angelico started off rough and got better later on, but it was characteristic of a match that had it’s up and down moments. Nothing wretched by any means but not the usual flow. Australian Suicide beating Pentagon doesn’t really make any sense with the feuds they’re building and the matches they’re setting up, but AAA booking doesn’t really ever make much sense.

Fantasma crushes Electroshock tope

Axel, Electroshock, Gronda vs Chessman, Hijo del Fantasma, Silver King: This wasn’t any good, but it wasn’t the rudos fault. They tried very hard to make the técnicos look impressive before beating them. It wasn’t actually possible, but they tried. No idea where Gronda II has been, but it has not been getting into halfway decent shape for a TV return. Gronda returned with an unattractive big painted gut, either from what he isn’t doing or from what he is. No idea what the foul spot was supposed to be or why it existed. This would’ve made more sense as being a Chessman showcase since he’s the one guy here who had an important Rey de Reyes match, but he didn’t get much outside the finish.

odd way to break up a pin

Cibernético, La Parka, Psycho Clown vs Parka Negra, Texano, Zorro: If Piero took away the kendo stick from La Parka before he was going to use because it was illegal, why didn’t he disqualify Zorro when he used it exactly two seconds later (a blow Piero cringes at?) That was not great, though I did appreciate Zorro applying la de a caballo with a horse in his hand. A stick horse, but still. Theoretical build up for Rey de Reyes, only with a finish so unimportant the show ended about 20 second later. Actually just a totally normal AAA main event, where the crowd is into the characters but the match is exactly like you’ve seen before. I think I spent a large chunk of this match wondering about the latest in Parka Negra identity rumors.
