If Super Fly turns in the main event, I will give it a million billion stars. This has to the culmination of the Super Fly/Legion stuff. AAA’s running the same exact match on the Friday taping, except Super Fly replaced Gronda. I guess that’s a totally different match, then.

If you’re like mean, you presume Aerostar teaming with Alan and Elegido here means he’s the mystery man teaming with those two guys on Friday. AAA’s site says no, it’s Silver King. However, they also add Mesias to the rudo side for the odd 4 on 3, so maybe Aero will get added before they’re thru. Anyway, that would seem to indicate Silver King should be hanging around for this show as well, but he’s not listed.

I think this match is a continuation of the Elegido/Pirata feud and not a sign they’ve forgotten the new member already, but I can never feel totally confident about that.

There’s lots of repetition with small variations between Friday and Sunday. The fourth match is the best example; 3 same guys, and we get to find out if Chessman or Crazy Boy is the better wrestler. (I think I know the answer!) Odd not to see Chessman somewhere on this card as well. Maybe he and Silver King have some big plans to watch the Olympics instead.

Hey, look, they found another way to do Morenos vs Apache without getting around to any title match. Billy’s still stuck in the pseudo-opener.

With that second round match set, that leaves Atomic Boy & Mini Abismo Negro left, presumably for the 08/31 Monterrey show.

  1. Could also be Abismo Negro and if he no shows then Aerostar could be the backup… one of the odd things is that Zorro has not been working but I was under the impression he had worked those California shows, so they must be hyping his return or he re injured there…

  2. BTW, someone said that the third clown is “Chris Killer”, don’t know who that might be, but from last week’s clowns promo, no one sounds like a Puerto Rican.

  3. @xuisaw: three matches turn up

2007-08-12 AAA Centro de Espectaculos, Minvera – El Elegido, Tinieblas Jr., Zorro vs Chris Killer, Head Hunter I, Mr. Niebla

2007-11-02 AAA Plaza de Toros Relicario, Puebla – Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico b Chris Killer, Head Hunter I, Kenzo Suzuki

2007-12-27 AAA Plaza de Toros La Concordia – Chessman, Gronda, Octagón vs Chris Killer, Electro Shock, Zorro

Killer Clown started on 12/14, so that’s pretty close. Their first match didn’t air until ’08, so he could’ve just been using his old gimmick until then. Can’t find any more info about him, maybe using a different name prior?

  4. Still don’t get why the Moreno’s turned rudo and, with the exception of Fabi always being a technica, the rest of the Apaches are face?

  5. Neither Apaches nor Morenos have turned in that sense, rudo and tecnico is a style, Morenos have turned into heel tecnicos while Apache have gone into babyface rudos (although Fabi’s kind of heelish now)

  6. Scratch that, he’s German but wrestled in Australia a lot I believe. I remember laughing at his name when I first found him in TNM but Oliver Copp loved him.

  7. Fun looking taping. Aero Star being below Super Fly is beyond strange based on the Alas De Oro result but it makes sense if they’re pulling the trigger on the Super Fly turn. He wore black in the Alas De Oro if that means anything to anyone. Aero Star/Super Fly could both be elevated here if AAA plays their cards right.

You listed Pirata Morgan twice instead of his junior. Poor Billy indeed but at least it should be a good match.

Sticking with my Octcito vs Mini Charly vs Mini Abismo prediction, even if AAA is getting to it differently than I thought.

Just noticed the new DailyMotion match! YAY!:D

  8. Chris the Bambikiller isn’t German. He is from Austria (not Australia!), and he definitely isn’t Killer Clown. In 2008, he mostly worked for All-Star Wrestling in the United Kingdom.

  9. I’m all out then. That was the only Chris Killer I knew.:)

Austria… Australia… it’s all the same. I’m kidding of course.:P I apologize. I get pissed when people think Montreal and Toronto are the same place. How insulting to us.

  10. Hey Chui, that was a cool exchange you started on byl. Especially when you called everyone on not responding after complaining about the ratings not being available a few weeks ago.

  11. Hehehe, I just got home and am busy in the msn, so I have not checked it out yet, hope you don’t get called names or something… hehehe =P

  12. ByL foristas are notorious for disapearing when you show them the truth. I hate when they call AAA a sideshow and then you call them out on the crap CMLL does and nobody responds.

  13. @Rob:

It’s pretty funny how Cesar says that CMLL is the best thing ever for having its guys being targeted by WWE (although no one has jumped yet) while ignoring that dozens of AAA had jumped in their time from AAA to WWF or WCW, simply put, Nicho, Juvy and Aguila went from AAA to WWE but I doubt post from the time would be saying anything good about AAA while nowdays CMLL rules!!

It’s also hilarious that many times CMLL guys have being post doing stripper things and showing their asses and pretty much every day one will find post with “CMLL guys are the real deal, they’re not like those dancers from TristeA”
