CMLL (SUN) 02/23/2014 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, LuchaWorldYahoo! Deportes]
1) Apocalipsis & Ramstein b Bengala & Metálico
match not shown on Terra.
2) Pegasso, Starman, Stigma b Hechicero, Hijo del Signo, Nitro
Tecnicos took 1/3.
3) Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany b Estrellita, Goya Kong, Lady Afrodita
Rudas took 2/3.
4) Delta b Boby Zavala [lightning]
Delta won with a modified Delta Formation in about six minutes.
5) Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Niebla Roja b Blue Panther, Guerrero Maya Jr., Titán
Rudos took 2/3.
6) Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr., Mephisto b La Máscara, La Sombra, Marco Corleone
Rudos took 1/3. Dragon Rojo and Sombra feuded thru the match and Rojo beat Sombra for the win. Rojo asked for a NWA Historic Middleweight Championship match. Sombra accepted, but also wanted a mask match.

Terra didn’t get working until about the second fall of the segunda. As usual, there was no explanation of what was going on, or even acknowledgement, until after the stream was back working. CMLL also did not do live results of any kind for no known reason. That setup has been worse since the CMLL press department took more control of it.

It sounded like Dragon Rojo/Sombra would be next week. I had internet issues (which shouldn’t affect the stream) but it mostly seemed like an OK show.

CMLL (SUN) 02/23/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [@acogdl]
1) Furia Nazi b Explosivo
2) Ángel del Mal b Brillante
3) Demonio Rojo & Magnum b El Divino & Virgo
rudos took 2/3
4) Esfinge b Espectrum
5) Bárbaro Cavernario, Maléfico, Ráfaga b Gallo, Leo, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took 1/3, Rafaga fouling Stuka to get the win. Rudos took Stuka’s mask after the match.
6) Pólvora & Rey Escorpión b Mistico & Volador Jr.
Revolucionarios took 1/3, Polvora stealing Mistico’s mask and pinning him.

I’d guess the main event is setting up Polvora getting a rematch, but one never knows for sure here. Stuka/Rafaga issue in the semimain is interesting.

I think I know a little bit more about the Sin Cara/AAA situation. The story that’s going around is WWE preemptively threatened AAA with legal problems if they used the Sin Cara name or mask, which if why no one saw that mask or said that name on Friday night. However, Sin Cara is telling people he will have the full rights to the Sin Cara name in May. I have no idea why May. I have no idea how he’d have the rights to the name. This leaves AAA with a problem – do they force a new character on him to get him on TV? Did they keep only teasing him until “May”, or whenever he’s ready to try something else? The only thing I’m sure of is some lawyer is making some money.

This week’s AAA TV mentions a new 03/29 taping in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. No building was mentioned, but they frequently run the Centro Civico building in that town. That looks like the first post Rey de Reyes taping, though AAA hasn’t been their tapings in order this year. If it is in order and they’re not skipping a taping, that means AAA’s already skipping a month in Gimansio Juan de la Barrera (and that’s why they said “tentatively once a month.”)

Elegido flopped out of the diving TV show tonight. Alas!

Rob has highlights for 12/06/2013 CMLL.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

This week’s Super Libre had an interview with Vangellys and talk about Cien Caras. On the show, they mentioned they’ve heard CMLL will be on TV Azteca in March. My thought is the first show to be on should be Dos Leyendas, though CMLL may want to start sooner to be able to promote off the TV.

SuperLuchas #519 has Sin Cara, Blue Demon and Black Warrior.

Segunda Caida reviews Uprising: Lucha Libre 02/15/14 and a review of a newly discovered Villano III vs Rambo mask match video.

Colombia’s Los Informates has a 12 minute video piece on lucha libre with Atlantis & Diamante Azul.

La Sombra is champion. 3rd defense, six months since the last one. Dragon Rojo is the previous champion, getting his first rematch.

Did you know: Dragon Rojo is also middleweight champion. He’s probably not getting this one too.

If Maximo is going elsewhere, this would be his last match in CMLL.

Stukita makes an appearance in the minis match. Hope we get to see it.
