Octagoncito tornillo

taped 2013-10-02 @ Auditorio Miguel Barragan de San Luis Potosi
Aerostar, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Black Mamba, Gran Apache, Mini Histeria: Pretty much a técnico exhibition. Rudos exhibited a lot of head slaps and the willingness to keep hitting each other. Aerostar and Octagoncito got in a cool dives and crowd still loves Pimpi (despite some cringe-worthy moments) so it generally got over well but there wasn’t a lot to it. Rudos went out of their way to do nothing, most of not been an accident.

Pentago throws Fenix high in the air, crushes him into the ground

legdrop to Escoria’s bad arm

Axel & Fénix vs Pentagón Jr. & Último Gladiador and Dark Scoria & Dark Spíritu: The other two matches in the secret tournament were single fall matches, so of course this one is an elimination one for no particular reason. And chairs are legal but outside interference requires a distraction. AND they did an injury angle with Escoria and had him advance anyway and the injury angle (x2, since they repeated it with the Perros!) went nowhere so I don’t even know. There was a good match here, but you had to hunt around some other stuff to find it. Axel is so bad, but he was even worse in this. Pentagon and Ultimo Gladiador did everything they could to make Axel look good early and it was for nothing because he was so Dallys-level poor later on. I don’t get it. Match was better in the parts he wasn’t involved, but there just wasn’t enough of those parts. Crowd didn’t get into this as much as you’d think.

Jack crushing double knee

Angélico, Australian Suicide, Jack Evans vs Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Steve Pain: Really great match from all involved. Suicide had a much better than his first time out, looking spectacular and not running into any problems. AAA (and Jack & Angelico) are also going out of there way to make sure the new guy doesn’t come off as the lesser third of the team, making sure he gets in his big spots and gets the big win at the end. It’s a great way to get over the newcomer Rudos looked great, as aggressive at offense as they were skilled at working with the técnicos. The rudos created a sense they might actually pull this match off, which is impressive for a team that never wins. A crowd that wasn’t in to the show a lot going into the match was way into it by the end of this. Very much wish Carta Brava was getting to be in the new group with the other two; Juvi’s going to have to be very good to make up for him.

Psycho barricade headscissors

Monsther Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Chessman, Silver King, Texano Jr.: Another Consejo/Circus match, now with more bleeding. Can’t believe Psycho lost to Texano on TV the week before his title match. Even cheating, what a strange deflating way to go about things. More of a trios match than the previous match with Texano and Psycho, getting every involved before coming down to the final, but not a match that interested me a much. Crowd was more into this than most anything else.
