07/11: FRAM, Azteca Budokan, Puebla

CMLL FRAM (THU) 07/10 Arena Mexico [Doom @ el Martinete]
1) Bam Bam, Mascarita Dorada, Último Dragoncito b Mr. Aguilita, Pequeño Damian 666, Pequeño Halloween
2) Dark Angel, Lady Apache, Luna Mágica b Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda

5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Héctor Garza, Shocker b Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Águila [FRAM CHAMP]

Didn’t think we’d get results from the show, but someone happened to go. No mention of any titles, so I think they might have just been honorary things (just like the Record show). In the semimian, Atlantis won fall one with the Atlinda, then Negro turned on Marco in the second fall.

I may have screwed this up a bit, but SoloLuchas makes it too complicated to figure out.

ESTO writes about Lucha Libre London. The story is about the success of the tour, and all indications are it did very well and they’ll surely run it again some time. Only of an interest to me, there’s a mention of Santo and Demon trading an NWA title which I didn’t know either man actually had – looks like it may be Santo’s old WWA Middleweight title.

Luchando Libre previews Sunday’s World X Cup final. UG’s loss to Kaz aired last night. Ultimo’s downfall was missing a top rope moonsault – when was the last time he went for one of those? On the last Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said TNA was asked not to team up CMLL tecnicos and rudos during the tournament, which would mean Volador Jr.’s the one who will work the Ultimate X match. (Presuming he’s still going, since nothing’s been writen about that for a bit.)

SoloLuchas has an interview with Puma King. He’s 19 or 20.

Hablando de Catch has photos from the AAA museum exhibit at the Lucha Libre Expo

Debuting this week in Argentina: an animated movie based on 100% Lucha. (They beat AAA, but it doesn’t sound like time travel and evil robots are involved.)

La Estrella de Tuscon writes about Estrella Veloz and his students in the area. They say he wrestled in CMLL for six years, trained 22 wrestlers in Mexico and is now training again in the Tucson area. They’ve got a show on the 20th.

CMLL (MON) 07/14 Arena Puebla [hugo999]
1) Asturiano, Legionario, Tigre Rojo vs Cerebro Negro, Mr. Rafaga, Negro Navarro
2) Dark Angel & Lady Apache vs Amapola & Hiroka
3) Centella de Oro, Máximo, Stuka Jr. vs Nitro, Policeman, Skandalo
4) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
5) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Místico vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Terrible

07/21 is the anniversary show, and hugo says the tercera is setting up a hair match. Semimain looks like it might set up a trios title match too.

  1. A German website lists the Lucha Libre London match as a match for the WWA World Middleweight Title, but mentions no title change:

07/04: Camden Roundhouse in London, Greater London, England
    1. Octagoncito and Mascarita Sagrada beat Pentagoncito Black and Bracito de Plata
    2. Revelos Increibles Match: Magno and El Hijo del Solitario beat Cassandro and Black Fish
    3. Negro Navarro beat Solar #1
    4. El Hijo del Santo, El Místico de Juárez and Huracán Ramírez beat Blue Demon Jr., El Hijo del Cien Caras and Silver King

07/05: Camden Roundhouse in London, Greater London, England – Afternoon Show

07/05: Camden Roundhouse in London, Greater London, England – Night Show
    1. Pentagoncito Black and Bracito de Plata beat Mascarita Sagrada and Octagoncito
    2. Solar’s Nameshifting Americas Title Match: Negro Navarro vs. Solar #1 (c) – No Contest
    3. El Hijo del Solitario and El Hijo del Cien Caras beat Silver King and Huracán Ramírez
    4. Cassandro and Black Fish beat Magno and El Místico de Juárez
    5. WWA World Welterweight Title Match: El Hijo del Santo (c) beat Blue Demon Jr.

  2. @Ringo: Judging from Esto’s report, Demon won the title on one of the Valencia, Spain shows (06/27 and 06/28 were originally listed with those two in a singles match) and the 07/05 show is Santo winning it back.

  3. Odd that the IWRG results are not in yet. Last few shows I’ve seen have been bad, but LA Park might make this a bit better, who knows, or maybe they don’t care about this show anymore and focus on Sundays which go to TVAzteca.

  4. One hour show for CMLL tomorrow and next week, they’ve been running “Cold Case” episodes to fill the timeslot, which is unusual since Canal 5 is the network which runs US produced shows, and the Bruckheimer series have not lasted long over here.

  5. “Only of an interest to me, there’s a mention of Santo and Demon trading an NWA title which I didn’t know either man actually had – looks like it may be Santo’s old WWA Middleweight title.”

It was a WWA Title for sure. However, one live report I read mentioned Santo defeating Demon to win the WWA World Welterweight Title. I don’t know how accurate that is. Just saying what I’ve heard.

  6. @xuisaw: I would not be surprised if CMLL and Televisa finish out their contract with a one-hour show. And when reality sinks in, both sides will come to an agreement again. They always do.
