07/20 AAA TV Lineup (Monterrey)

This jumps ahead two tapings from the last AAA’s talked about.

AAA TV (SUN) 07/20 Arena Solidaridad [luchalibreaaa: 1 2]
1) Javi, Kevin, Ricky vs Escorpion Negro Jr., Rio Bravo, Tito Santana II
2) Mascarita Divina vs La Parkita, Mini Abismo Negro, Mini Histeria [AAA MINI, #1]
3) Aerostar, El Elegido, Gato Eveready vs Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
4) Angel, Brazo de Plata, El Alebrije vs Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown
5) Electro Shock, Jack Evans, Teddy Hart vs Chessman, Crazy Boy, Juventud Guerrera
6) Mesias vs Alan Stone, Ozz, La Parka Jr., Zorro, Kenzo Suzuki, Black Abyss, Joe Lider, an AAA surprise, a Legion surprise [#1, AAA HEAVY]

Projected Air Date (#846)
Mexico: 07/27
US: 08/16

07/17: Added the semimain, and some changes. Joe Lider takes Karia La Momia’s place in the main event, plus the two announced mystery wrestlers. Zorro is still listed despite being hurt, and may still be the favorite. In the undercard, Oriental is out and Angel is in versus the Clowns.

Original Notes: An odd assortment of people battling for a title shot, I guess to give the impression someone besides Zorro, Mesias and Cibernetico might be in a title match. Joe Lider? (and not anyone else from the extreme feuds?) Karis La Momia, the local wrestler? This seems far enough out from Verano de Escandalo that they might be doing the resulting title match on TV (which would open the door to Ozz or Kenzo winning without having to main event a major show.)

I sure hope we’re about to find out the Minis are getting a couple of weeks of TV time to lead into this match, and they’re not just creating a title for a division they don’t even put on TV anymore. Also, no Mascarita Sagrada 2007 or the Mini Hell Brothers, the acts they’ve actually been focusing on here? Back before Mascarita Dorada jumped in August of 2007, he was due to lose his title to Mini Histeria. Not sure if that’ll still happen.

Definite lack of a midcard rudos acts – no Vipers, no Guapos, no Familia de Tijuna, no Sect besides Ozz, no Hermandad besides Lider. No Mexican Powers for that measure. No questions really answered.

  1. thecubsfan, you said “Definite lack of a midcard rudos acts – no Vipers, no Guapos, no Familia de Tijuna, no Sect besides Ozz, no Hermandad besides Lider. No Mexican Powers for that measure.” I say it’s a good thing that those fuckers aren’t on.

  2. I’m not really surprise about these recent post TM lineup’s. I knew AAA was going to go back to using the regular guys since they not building towards a major show.

  3. I have no problem with this lineup… in fact I really like it. Lots of faces back that I want to see and no silly tag matches featuring guys who can’t work so you don’t have any guaranteed stinkers.

Interesting to see the Clowns returning out of nowhere. I guess their win streak will continue till some foreigners end it at Verano. Of note – Porky vs Porky Jr. for the first time.

I have no clue what’s up with Karis in the main event. It’s not the local guy so it’s a sure angle. Teddy Hart under the mask?

The show seems like it’s missing a match. I wonder why Jack/Teddy didn’t get booked since MTY is usually a haven for foreigners.

  4. Luchamania forum reports this match was added which clears up the confusion from my end:

Jack Evans, Teddy Hart y Electroshock
vs Crazy Boy, Ultimo Gladiador y Chessman

Also replacing Zorro in the main event will be a surprise wrestler who is being called an ‘LAX member’. Konnan still thinks he is in LAX?
