Mamba with a drop

Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano vs Mamba & Yuriko: The two teams didn’t mesh together well; Maxima Velocidad didn’t play off the exoticos well, and the exoticos slowed the técnicos’ pace. That part might be for the better long term but it limited the match to a few bursts of moves and not a lot more going for it. There’s better matches with everyone involved.

Drago is fast

Angélico, Drago, Jack Evans vs Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Steve Pain: Excellent. Maybe the best AAA trios match of the year? I hesitate it to put in excellent because they could probably out do this if they had a chance to build up some stakes, but this was such an incredible show that it feels like it belongs there. Steve Pain, man with funny name and no introduction besides being from LA, came out with impressive holds on Drago and never let up the rest of the way. Everyone else was game too and this was outstanding from start to finish. This was a match where I knew to hold back on tracking spots for gifs later because it was obvious the match was only going to get more spectacular, and I still ended up writing down five different spots. Coudl’ve had more – this was match of constant building spots. It seemed like it was built to be a showcase for the técnicos, but the rudos looked just as good by the end of match. If the long range plan is to give all those guys new characters, they might want to speed it up – no one’s going to forget who these guys are with performances like this.

Crazy Eterno dive

Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz vs Daga, Halloween, Psicosis: A comedown from the last match. It probably would’ve looked better otherwise, though this was generally an okay match in the usual Perros style. I had totally forgotten they set up an Ozz/Daga feud here and it seems like they forgot too. It’s AAA, that happens. Ozz and Daga looks like it would’ve been fine.

Angelico attempts to impale Eterno

Canek, El Mesías, La Parka vs Chessman, Texano Jr., Villano IV: Canek is on the técnico side for no reason, and then Canek waits 13 minuets to turn on his partners for no reason. This was not a waste of my lifeforce, no. Also, Canek is 61 and was the centerpiece of the main event, so there’s that. This was a usual AAA main event dragging brawl with a sensible outcome but a dumb setup. This was not the worst AAA main ever but it’s kind of a dumb waste of time.

Eterno should probably not sit on the barricade!
