Dragon Rojo double stomp

Ángel de Oro vs Dragón Rojo Jr. in a lightning match: Much slower than a usual Angel de Oro match, as he was obviously hampered by his knee injury and had to take a 5 second break at one point. That pace was fine enough Dragon Rojo, who had no problem keeping up, but it’s no big surprise Angel de Oro is taking some time off. They let each other escape big moves – no one usually escapes the mecedora or the top rope double stomp – and generally did bigger spots than usual but did end up ending the match at the right point.

Monito plancha

Hijo del Fantasma, Rey Cometa, Valiente vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis: A good weekly TV match. Fun action all the way thru. Cometa & Namajague did their big spots together, but worked a lot with the other guys the rest of the way, making for a fresher match up than they’ve had of late. Both teams worked well with each other, and the usual big move sequence had some different moves. I’m looking forward to the Valiente/Vangelis En Busca de un Idolo match based off their sequence here.

Mascara Dorada does crazy tope armdrag, returns to pose

Blue Panther, La Máscara, Máscara Dorada vs Boby Zavala, Comandante Pierroth, Rey Escorpión: Mascara Dorada was awesome in this match. I have no idea what got into him, but it was an amazing performance. Bobby Zavala and Rey Escorpion were great as a team and great working withthe técnicos. Pierroth came thru as extremely limited; he’s worse than the last few years of the original Pierroth, because at least that one had his speaking ability and presence to carry him. This one can’t do much on offense, and wasn’t trust to work with the técnicos for taking any significant offense. Dorada is a tricky guy, but I’m not sure who Comandante is actually going to be able to work with if a match with the simplistic Mascara had to be edited so drastically.
