IWRG, LyC, Perros, Expo Mascaras

IWRG (SUN) 04/21/2013 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG]
1) Galaxie & Serpiente de Oro b Dragón Celestial & Epidemia
2) Ángel Del Amor & Astro Rey Jr. b Imposible & Picudo Jr.
First match for Picudo Jr. in IWRG, under that name, since November 2011.
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., Buter Fly, Canis Lupus b Diva Salvaje, Miss Gaviota, Saruman
First Salvaje match here since August 2011, Gaviota’s first match here since last year. Debut match for Buter Fly.
4) Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Scorpio Jr. b Centvrión, Chico Che, Dinamic Black
Scorpio Jr. beat Chico Che after a foul and a Guapito middle rope splash. Scorpio and Chico Che wanted a singles match after the match – as did Eterno & Centvrion.
5) Danny Casas, Heavy Metal, Veneno DQ Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II
Heavy Metal snuck in a foul on Negro Navarro and trapped him in a Casita for the first fall. Navarros looked like they were going to tie it up when Eterno ran in and hit Danny Casas with a chair for the DQ and the straight fall win. Everyone attacked Eterno after the match, including Danny hitting Eterno with a chair.

LyC (SUN) 04/21/2013 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [RFC]
1) Super Nino I & Super Nino II b Chamaco Gurrola & Mini Hator
2) Iron (Monterrey), Memo Valles, Zayco (Monterrey) b Dranser, Misionero, Scravos
3) Dralion b Galactar, Artillero (Monterrey), Rey Orion, Rey Imagen, Gato Fantasma [Copa Cruceros, final]
4) Perverso b Genocida [AMERICAS HEAVY]
Scheduled to be a three way with a Sicodelico (defending Zero One title), Chico Latino and Genocida. Sicodelico worked in WWL instead. Perverso came in as champion and defended his title.
5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan Jr. b Chico Latino & Gemelo Muerte I
Chico Latino replaced Gemelo Muerte II.
6) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Máscara Púrpura b Konnan Big & Rico Rodriguez

Konnan Big complained about a foul after the loss and demanded a rematch. Wagner offered one – as long as Konnan came to Torreon so Wagner could have the hometown match.

Attendance – ground floor looks full, upper level empty – wasn’t what must’ve been figured when the show was announced. They had the misfortune to run on the same day as the Hector Garza benefit show at Arena Solidaridad and the Monterrey fanbase doesn’t seem large enough to support to big local shows on the same day. It’s still a good turnout for Coliseo.

No results yet from Arena Solidaridad, but LuchaMania has an interview with Humberto Garza Jr. from the show. It does not look like Hector Garza appeared on the show; he hasn’t been seen in public since the announcement of his cancer.

PdM (SUN) 04/21/2013 Arena Lopez Mateos [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring]
1) Black Mamba b Chica Ye-Ye, Dance Boy
2) Candy Whithe b Ludark Shaitan, Lady Sensación

4) Eita & Hanaoka b Cósmico & Talisman and Impulso & Mr. Leo

6) Joe Lider b Violento Jack, Aeroboy [PdM EXTREMO]
Added match. Joe Lider beat Violento Jack to win the championship (third known champion.) Lider had won the KBW Extremo championship earlier this weekend.

The Expo Mascaras show with CMLL wrestlers will be on May 25th.

At the LLF show, Lady Jaguar recieved her own mariachi performance and Angelica and Rudeza Infernal signed for a mask match on 05/03.

AAA appears to have a taping on 05/17 in Puebla. I do not know if it’s for a specific brand. There were long gaps between AAA shows back in February, which didn’t leave much to talk about. That will not be a problem the rest of the year.

On this week’s MLW Radio podcast, about 1h12m in, Konnan has a short story about La Gran Sorpresa. (This was taped before the Leon taping.) Konnan explains that, despite promoting this surprise for weeks, they did not tell the person who was to be part the surprise until Thursday (four days before the show), and that person already had another thing to do Monday. It’s not clear if that person was Axel, Ricky Marvin, or someone else who didn’t end up coming, but Konnan misses a chunk of the podcast trying to talk this person into appearing. AAA likes to keep it’s secrets, even from the people involved in them. That’s just a small part of the podcast, part one of an interview with Sean Waltman. They break down the incident with Waltman, Konnan, Juvi and Jack Evans and life in Mexico.

The Hornet, a Canadian who wrestled in IWRG back in 2005 and lost his hair to Avisman, seems to be setting up a match with Ricky Marvin.

AULL has announced the field for the AULL Lightweight Championship match on their on 05/19 anniversary show. The title was vacated by Flamita (for personal reasons never really explained), was supposed to be filled at the Expo last August, and no result was ever announced. So, of course, Flamita is in the match to determine a champion. The other seven are Yakuza, Mike Segura, Sadico, Rey Kristal, Eita, Spider Boy and Freelance. That should be a pretty good match.

Eric R @ Segunda Caida reviews CMLL 02/23/13.

AAA interviews La Jarochita tonight.

Octagoncito & Voladordcito are headed to Elgin, Illinois this weekend.

Lineups

NICE (TUE) 04/23/2013 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Misionero vs Super Jack
2) Mercurio & Mini Hator vs Shockercito & Tequilita
3) Ángel Dorado I, Ángel Dorado II, Angel Dorado Jr. vs Bengali, Difunto, Sergio Romo Jr.

5) Hijo de Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr. vs Genocida, Iron (Monterrey), Zayco (Monterrey) [IWRG IC TRIOS]
Piratas are champions. First defense.

Well, there’s a reason for the Piratas to have IWRG trios titles and not just the Mexico State ones.

Random Shockercito/Mercurio appearance in the segunda.

CMLL CF (SAT) 05/04/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Hombre Bala Jr., Super Halcón Jr., Tritón vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit, Tiffany
3) La Máscara, Stuka Jr., Valiente vs Felino, Puma, Tiger
4) Diamante Azul, Rush, Super Porky vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Terrible
5) La Sombra, Máscara Dorada, Mistico vs Mephisto, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr.

Sponsored show. THE sponsor: Cementos Fortaleza, the company who’s logo has been all over Arena Mexico this year (and the sponsored show Mistico got hurt on before FantasticaMania.) This also explains why RadioCMLL was giving away tickets for an Arena Mexico show this day – these shows are all give away tickets if you’re connected to the sponsor.

Arena Mexico is going to be busy the next few weeks. Beside the Tuesday/Friday shows, there’s a boxing show 04/27 Saturday, a CMLL show in Sunday, this show next Saturday, and probably a Toryumon show the following Saturday.

  1. maybe you could fill me in on some things …what happend with Jack Evans, waltman, Juvi and Konnan?

MASADA vs Rush sounds great…lets see whats still coming on that Card but this match and Negro Navarro vs Negro Casas is already a ticket buy for me , lets just hope the matches happen like they been announced not like the last time..

and how was the crowd on GALLI/Chilangamaskshow sell out? by the way the tercera caida guys always work like this , i wouldnt wonder if the even tape and cut the Studio Show by themselfs..

  2. Juvi thing took place way back in 2008. Short version if Juvi (because he wasn’t thinking) made Waltman’s life miserable, Waltman got revenge in disgusting fashion but without Juvi knowing it was him, Juvi confronted Konnan about it, Konnan wouldn’t rat, and the argument ended with Jack Evans leaping in to give Juvi a flying punch to the nose (which everyone still seems surprised about). Juvi’s nose was broken, he threatened to sue everyone, it caused minor trouble for AAA at the time and now everyone pretends they’re cool. Waltman pointed out AAA is going to feel dumb when Juvi does something stupid again, as Juvi’s done many times in his career, and he’s probably right.

Chilangamask show was about half full (around 75?). It appeared to be more seats than usual, and slighter higher prices.

  3. “Waltman got revenge in disgusting fashion but without Juvi knowing it was him”

As I read that the first time, my mind processed it as Waltman got his revenge by making Juvi wear disgusting looking clothing.
